Season 3 analysis

Here is my promised season 3 analysis lol. Please let me indulge in my brain rot

So there were already things that i was noticing, but now we have more context from interviews and it is just making things make more sense tbh. So i wanna share my thoughts. Please feel free to chat with me or others! Im curious to hear other people’s thoughts!

The whole tsunami and lawsuit was so painful to sit through. I already knew the outcomes, but just seeing the pain on their faces was so painful for me. But Buck is Chris’ second dad. No one can tell me otherwise. He took him to the pier and played games with him and Chris missed him so much during the lawsuit. And Eddie was (rightfully) offended that Buck wasnt there to help when they needed it. They are a family unit and it is so pure

Also. “You wanna go for the title?” Buddy. That was so not straight. Nothing about that scene was straight

And in 3x12. When Chim and Maddie have Buck and Josh over for Poker. And Josh makes the joke about Maddie trying to set him up with Buck. And Buck just does that cute little glance away thing. He was not offended at all and even seemed a little flattered. Which, especially given what Oliver has said recently, could easily have been Oliver just playing into Bi Buck a little bit. (Not to mention that Chim’s comment about Siri was absolutely hilarious. I love that man)

And then in 3x15, Eddie Begins, my boy Buck literally tries digging for Eddie with his hands. I dont have to say much about this episode cos its already been picked apart by so many people, but yeah. Just thought id mention it at least

I also just wanted to point out that in 3x18, which is the train derailment, Eddie seemed so disgusted that Abby was involved and i honestly found it so endearing and hilarious. He wasnt there when Abby and Buck were together, so he only knows the stories, but he is so mad at her for what she did (which. Valid. Cos it was awful). He was so offended for Buck and i just think that it was sweet cos it shows how much he cares

And then given some recent interviews, we know that a queer storyline for Buck was presented before and i dont think they said an exact timeline for that, but i feel like it could have been in season 3, considering some things i pointed out above

Really the point of this was to point out that Buck has always been a lil fruity and that his relationship with Eddie is just so amazing. I love them ❤️ I cant wait to see how they progress (and the wedding. Im so excited for the Madney wedding)

Durge bg3 is so much fucking fun. I did a like pretty middle of the ground, leaning good side playthrough with a custom background and now I'm doing durge and omfg I'm having a blast. I'm actually so impressed with how much replayability the base game is giving me. Your mileage may vary but I'm like losing sleep I'm having so much fun.

Sims Stream

Lando Norris x reader ｡･:*˚:✧｡

Word Count: 1,354

“So, what do you want to do today?” a shirtless Lando said, coming up and hugging me from behind as I make us breakfast.

I turn around, giving him a quick yet passionate kiss before turning back around, just finishing preparing a fruit salad for the both of us, his head nessling between mine and my shoulder, his arms wrapping around my waist.

“Your day off has barely started and you're already bored huh?” I laugh, a smile creeping onto his lips.

“I already trained, did simulator practice, took a nap, and now I want to hang out with you my love.” He squeezes me tighter as I nestle into him.

“Well I was going to stream sims today.” I make my final cut, mixing all the fruit together before putting some in a nearby bowl and handing it to Lando. He gives me a thank you, before turning to lean against the kitchen counter, now facing me.

“I could join you.” he states, scarfing down the fruit, taking a few pieces of fruit from my bowl as well.

“We cant join games” I frown, wishing he could stream with me today.

“I know, you always watch me play video games, I wanna watch you play something you really like doing” he smiles, placing both his and my empty bowls in the sink, wrapping up the leftovers and placing them in the fridge.

I take his hand in mine, leading him to my office/game room. I pull up a chair for him, placing a pillow on the seat as well as the back of the back of the chair for comfort. As I get settled, He takes the armrest of my chair, pulling it closer to him. I drape a blanket over both our legs and start the stream, the sims loading screen shining bright in the backlit room.

As we start talking both to one another and the stream chat, more and more people start joining, freaking out at the sight of Lando and I streaming together for the first time. Chat being so used to just hearing Lando, and never seeing him. Lando starts talking to chat, telling them how excited he is to play with me.

Soon the game fully loads, I choose to start a new game, not wanting to ruin any of the storylines I have going with my other sims lore. “Why don't you make us? We can live out our lives through the sims” Lando asks. Chat, all Lando fans, loving his idea and agreeing immediately.

Embarrassed, I go to my library and select the premade Lando I had made just a few months back on another stream. “Already did.” I blush with embarrassment, he turns to me with a big grin on his face, getting closer to the monitor screen to observe his custom made sim.

“You did so good love, thank you for making me look so handsome” he says leaning closer to me, giving me a forehead kiss. As he gets closer, he moves his hand from his lap to start squeezing my thigh. I lean into his body, moving the armrest out of the way, holding his arm that's squeezing my leg. Chat absolutely loses it at the interaction, spamming mom and dad in the chat.

Once we make some adjustments to our sims outfits we start the game, going into a random starter house, customizing the interior to our liking with what little funds we have, and finding jobs for our respective sims. “Can I be an F1 driver here?” he questions.

“No, but you can be an athlete” he makes a sad face, not getting what he wanted. “The good thing is, there's a lot of job options in the game” this perks him up. I continue to scroll though the list, showing and describing all the jobs to Lando.

“WAIT WAIT WAIT I CAN BE A SECRET AGENT” he practically screams. “Why didn't you tell me, that's way cooler.”

Lando picks the job of secret agent, I settle with the streamer career, wanting my sim to be as accurate as possible.

“Can you fuck in the sims?” Lanod says out of nowhere. I playfully smack him on the shoulder.

“Lando there's kids watching, also our sims aren't even dating yet, they are just roommates.”

“How come sim Lando hasn't asked out sim Y/N yet?”

“Maybe he's too scared, sim Y/N is way too hot for sim Lando” I shrug, Lando giving me a side eye. “Dont side eye me, I said what I said, chat did I lie?” chat clearly siding with me.

“Tell sim Lando to ask out sim Y/N, we have to date her before anyone else tries to steal my girl” Blushing, I click on my sim, making Lando's in game alter ego flirt with her.

Soon, my sim walks away from Lando's, moving away to talk to another nearby towns person. Lando watches in disbelief as my sim, against my control, starts talking to another man. “WHAT THE HELL” he stares at the screen, sitting up a little more. Chat going absolutely insane, clipping the moment to probably use for another couples compilation.

“I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING, SHE DID THAT ALL ON HER OWN” I argued back. Lando takes the controls, choosing my character and moving her away from the random sim man, to go back to talking to him.

“How do I kill someone in the sims?” he questions, going to the settings and looking around for a kill button.

“You can't, I dont have the mod.” I laugh, holding my stomach with laughter, pulling him away from the screen, to go back to cuddling me.

“Can we download it? I want him dead, he tried to take my girl” lando pouts.

We continued the game, Lando and I switching off the controls whenever we wanted our charters to do something. Soon enough, Sim Lando and Sim Y/N start dating. Lando and I both chanted “kiss, kiss, kiss” when they shared their first kiss with one another.

“Does this mean that we can fuck now” Lando turns to me waiting for my approval.

I sigh, a smile forming on my lips. “Yes lando, they can now.” he cheers, taking the mouse and clicking on the bed, happily selecting the woohoo button.

I take the mouse back from him, moving the game to show a different room. “I don't want to show it on stream, it's an invasion of privacy '' I look at him sternly, he silently nods in agreement.

We wait a couple more seconds, talking to chat about anything that comes to mind until finally seeing the notification that they are done. Lando grabs the mouse before I can, clicking on my sims and taking her to the bathroom. “Lando, what are you doing?” I ask confused.

“I wanna see if Sim Y/N is pregnant.”

“LANDO WHAT!” I shout taking the mouse back from him instantly. We’re both waiting anxiously (for different reasons) for the notification of sim Y/N’s status. I let out a sigh of relief when she's not.

Lando slumps back in his chair. “Lando what were you thinking? They've only been dating for a day! It's far too soon for them to have a baby! They barely have any money, no space, do you need me to go on?” I lecture him, moving the controls slightly away from him so he cant make anymore rash decisions.

“I just wanted to see what a little us would look like” he said sadly, it breaks my heart, chat spamming awww’s in the chat. “I know it's too soon, I just got excited.”

“Lando it's ok, how about the next stream, we MAYBE have them try?” this perks him up.

“Really! You mean it? Everyone spam baby names in the chat, we’ll use the best one.'' Lando starts talking to the chat about how excited he is for the next stream, and virtual fatherhood.

As I watch Lando go on and on about this potential sim baby, I can't help but get excited for the day it happens in real life.

It turns out sometimes i cant proof read it and some grammar and spelling mistakes go unnoticed. i'm trying to pay more attention and let the text rest for at least a few hours before reading it to corret. Though Maya had told you to leave by the morning without breakfast, you were adamant about cooking her something.

"Why are you so stuborn?", she signed while you fried some eggs and bacon, the smell of fresh coffee spreading through the small kitchen of her childhood house.

You looked at her all heart eyes, like she put the stars on the sky, and that was clearly bothering her. You filled her a plate and smiled lovingly.

"Stop looking at me like that.", she frowned at you.

You noticed Maya was in a very bad mood, which didnt make much sense to you. She had kissed you last night, cuddled you on your sleep and left a kiss to your neck before getting up this morning. Not even an hour later, here she is. Staring daggers at you.

"What's wrong?", you asked but Maya just looked away. You walked closer, standing in front of her as she avvoided your eyes.

You tapped her nose with your index finger, getting her attention and making her face you. "Look at me?", you asked.

Maya kept staring at you, waiting for you to say whatever you wanted to. "Look, if we play our cards right, everything will turn out well." , you tried to convince her.

"This is not a game. And I'm not a prize.", she told you, arching an eyebrown. Was she talking about Fisk offering money to whoever found her?

You rolled your eyes. Who was being stubborn now?

"You're not a prize, Maya. You're..." you started but paused. You kept looking at her, deep in thought.

"What?", she asked.

"I forgot the sign for that.", you tried.

Maya huffed.

At noon, it started to rain. You made sure to close the windows before going up to Maya. She was standing against the back of the couch, watching the rain fall down on the outside of the house.

"This is perfect.", you told her. The rain falling and the smell of wet grass embracing your nostrils made you a little clingy.

Maya looked at you, a strange look adorning her bautiful face. She seemed sad.

Right there and then, you were sure she was gonna simply tell you to forget about her, to move on and leave Tamaha. You thought she'd tell you that she didn't like you anymore, tell you to leave her alone and go back to New York.

Then you'd go right away, walking in the pouring rain and crying your heart out. And it'd be like a sad romance movie.

But she did the oposite of that.

Maya tugged at the hem of your shirt, pulling you to be in front of her, and brought you closer, hiding her face on your neck. She inhaled your scent and you remembered why you hadn't change your perfume in such a long time.

It was something you thought would work when you started flirting. Picking a smell that'd make her think of you whenever she smelled it. That's why you walk around with tangerine essential oil on your clothes and inside the necklace you're always wearing.

When you first met Maya she always kept a serious face. As you became close, she'd show you a softer side and you'd take the opportunity to actually learn more about her.

You had met many versions of Maya and you loved all of them, though you'd seek a few of them more often than the others.

Fierce Maya was one of your favorites. She'd keep her chin up, lips sealed and a perfect eyebrown arched, looking into your eyes like she could make your soul bend to her own desire.

Funny Maya was all sarcasm and light teasing. She'd smile wild watching you trying to understand a joke she just told. She'd playfully bump your shoulder with her own and she'd even wink at you while at work.

You loved all versions of her, but right now you'd love to have Sexual Maya. The one with wet kisses and a dirty mind, the one that'd make you scream filthy words in three different languages while making you go over the moon.

Maya was a sweet lover but she did have her moments of pure desire. "It's just sex, this is not a relationship", she had told you when you first started your thing.

At that time you only understood the word "sex" and "relationship".

" i missed you too.", she started. "But it wasn't fair to bring you into all of it. I wanted to keep you safe.", she explained.

You heart grew ten times. Maya telling you she cared for you made you believe things could work out again. Screw Kingpin and New York, you could restart in Tamaha. You'd restart in a small iglu in Alaska, dressed as a polar bear, if she'd have you.

"I want you.', Maya signed, bringing you to reality, her eyes full of something you were yet to understand. "All of you.", she continued before claiming your lips with her own, taking your breath away.

I have watched more than half of Critical Role Vox Machina

"I Heard Campaign 1 starts mid-campaign, is it hard to follow?"

It's only hard depending of how familiar you are with D&D in general and how resilient you are to the awkwardness of "We are still trying to see how this streaming thing goes." In terms of the story and plot it's easy to follow, if you can get over the way it is being told.

Despite the claims that it starts mid-campaign, it in fact starts right after a major Time-Skip, so the first episodes does establish plenty of things. You just have to accept this is a story that starts in the middle rather than the beginning. If you ever had to deal with having to find a starting point for Doctor Who or COmicbooks, you can deal with Vox Machina. Just accept that there were off-screen adventures.

if that is still an issue, the show eventually does offer a video narrating the pre-stream adventures that is shown during episode 36. If that is too long for you to wait, I think someone has uploaded it to youtube as it's own thing.

"I heard of Tiberius/Orion Acaba and how he eventually left because he was toxic. can I jump straight to the epsidoe when he leaves?"

You can easily skip most of the pre-Briarwood stuff and just pretend that also happened off-screen. tho there are some major plot points present that you will not get to see. The Briarwood arc is a bit more complicated, because he is present for the first four episodes and you will start with the arc already started, but if you watched the animated series and then jump to episode 28 (which while not the episode when officially announced, it is the first episode after his departure. SPoilers: The quality of the show increases immediatly) as long as you understand the show did some tweaks and should, you will not be lost.

If you think you can tolerate Toxic People, you can watch episodes 24, 25 and 26, skip 27 (seriously, even if you can tolerate Orion, it is at best a dull, boring episode. There is a reason why whenever anyone talks about this episode, the only thing they can mention is Orion and his goddamn mirrors) and go ahead with episode 28.

"I heard Tiberius was a Good Character with an Awful Player, is it true?"

In my perosnal opinion, Tiberius was a good baseline for an interesting arc. But he was also the kind of character who can become annoying. I personally think people are more enamored with the idea of what Tiberius could have been than him being a pretty fleshed out character (bear in mind, for the first 20 or so episodes, most of Vox Machina doesnt feel very fleshed out, again part of the initialy awkward first phase). Likewise, this might be a possible unpopular opinion but... I dont feel Tiberius had as close a friendship as Vox Machina as some might think? this comes back to the player and stuff, but by the end I felt Tiberius saw Vox Machina more like a professional partnership than the family the rest of the characters became.

In terms of Orion, yes he becomes increasingly annoying as the show goes. Initially you dont notice it, but as the show goes, he becomes harder and harder to ignore. He eventually tries to take part in every. single. scene the rest of the cast is doing and tries to steal the spotlight. He tries to force his storyline even when other things are going down. etc. etc. (and this is not counting the stuff regarding him as a person). Tiberius is tolerable in small doses, but Orion cant shut the ef up.

"I heard because of her job, Ashley Johnson's Pike had to leave the show and the animated show expanded her role."

This is a half-truth. Because of Ashley's commitments, she could not consistently be in the show and, in the pre-Briarwood stuff Pike is given a send-off.

BUT Pike continues to show up after that and shows up a solid number of times, it's just she cant be there consistently. In fact, Pike showing up in the middle of the Briarwood arc to save everyone's ass and take part in the final battle? Pike was present in the show and played by Ashley via skype. the thing they changed was that they gave Pike an arc that wasnt present in the show.

Pike is the Gandalf of Vox Machina. She constantly has to leave to do something else, tho in this case it's because of the unpoken rule of trying to not use a player's character if the player is not present.

ETA: Another way you can REALLY tell Orion was no longer welcome is that, whenever Ashley had an open slot in her schedule, the rest of the cast would immediatly jump at the chance to have her join them for the session.

Here be (minor) Spoilers

Now here is an interesting thing I noticed. Which is that because of the Chroma Conclave events, Whitestone sorta becomes Vox Machina's base of operations, replacing the keep they had been given by the king of Emon. In the main show, this is a simple change in Status quo. but for the animated show it would mean they got that old keep and are about to abandon it merely like a few weeks after obtaining it, and that's kinda funny.

Other than that, it is interesting to see how the actors do become more comfortable portraiyng their characters and get past that initial awkwardness where it still feels like Players first.

it's also interesting how often a huge narrative moment will have a Natural 20, either saving the characters or fitting the narrative so well.

it is a difficult medium for one to adapt. and there are moments in which the characters will scre-up easy tasks because of the rolls, which can be funny or frustrating. But the high points are really good. and there were some moments and battles that felt as engaging as in any other medium. The Dragon attack in Emon was more tense than The hobbit's use of Smaug. I was genuinely cheering when Grog delivered justice on the tribe that abandoned him.

And the story feels as High Fantasy Epic as you can get from more "normal" storytelling mediums. and Critical Role is a great example of how D&D can be a game, but it's also a form of collective storytelling.

I had very low expectations going into Last Twilight because I don’t love sad shows and I wasn’t a huge fan of Vice Versa (i know they are nothing alike) However the first episode was so good!! The acting and the storyline was wonderful and I cant wait for episode 2! This might be one of the best bl’s in the last couple of years. I hope you enjoy it 😊

okay so I finally found time to watch this lol and it was not bad! my expectations were also very low, I wasn't a fan of the trailer and I was dreading a draggy, sobby and cheesy lakorn-esc show with an flawed portrayal of blindness and while I can't negate all of these apprehensions after the first episode, I think it was a solid start. contrary to my expectations I find Mork quite striking as a character while I'm having issues with Day's character, which might be due to the lack of background we have on him though. He just went from playing badminton to being blind lol so I would like to know more about his journey and I hope we will be in for some flashbacks. Jimmy's acting has improved since VV which is nice to see. Sea is amazing as usual and so is my girl Namtan. the cast is good.

The overall vibe is calm and mature which makes it easy to watch and is a nice contrast to some of the other shows out there *coughmiddlemanslovecough* - it lacks the usual frivolous elements which is good and fits jimmysea's acting style but sadly the clichés are not completely absent. I'm hoping for less long stares and slow motion fall-and-catch moments in the future lmao but so far so good! Let's see what the next episodes bring ✌🏻

Actually.. The Daycare Attendant never came back.

In the story he did go to an employee the next day. But they told him the same thing. “We cant find anything wrong with you, so go back to work”

Sunny knew they were full of crap. So he figured to keep everyone safe.. He would keep the lights on at all times and not leave the Daycare until he could fix himself.

..A few months have gone by now, and he still hasn’t left the safety of the Daycare.

..DJ’s worried sick.

I never really cared for it too much. That’s mostly why I made Sunny/Moony one person in my AU.

Having them be two separate characters sharing one body just got confusing. And I couldn’t see a reason why Fazbear Entertainment would want to have a dual AI animatronic like that.. So I just made him 1 person.

Also aaaaaaa nooooo my Gravity Falls art ehk--

My Chica’s eyes are almost identical to her “infected” eyes. The infected eyes are a bright toxic purple while her normal eyes are like a soft purple-ish pink.

@waffleking193 After part 2 of “Bits and Pieces” comes out, I plan to take the time to flesh out my AU and really organize the timeline.

If I decide to keep the part where Chica gets crushed by the trash compacter thingy, she will not have been lured in by Monty Mix. She would have been lured in by a pizza.

Because in my AU, its just food in general that Chica wants to eat. And Pizza is the thing she is most consistently recognizes.

I hate it :/

Nothing against Jack Black and Chris Pratt, but I really hate them for the voices of Mario and Bowser. And although I haven’t heard the voices of the other characters, I imagine I’m gonna hate them too.

Kamek’s voice was alright though, and Toads could’ve been worse. But I just couldn't get over Mario and Bowser.

The ONLY way I will be 100% fine with Mario is if they go with the Storyline of Mario being some random guy from Brooklyn or something that got transported into the mushroom kingdom. If they try to sell him as Italian I will be ANGRY

Also there’s nothing you can do to make me like Jack black as Bowser, I just keep hearing Po from Kung fu Panda. When ever Bowser talks he loses all of his intimidation.

Uhg and I bet they’re gonna make Bowser witty and quirky and the awkward comic relief character and whatever instead of the intimidating ruler that he is.

XD I saw the results. Honestly not surprised in the slightest that Sans won.

In all honesty, if Sans was in the poll and DIDN’T win? I would be shocked and super confused. XD

@hugsandchaos I always imagined that Kwazii turned away from his life of pirating by choice. I favor of being a lieutenant on the Octopod and helping sea creatures. As to how he did all that I have no idea--

Also somewhat unrelated but I liked to imagine that Calico Jack was proud of Kwazii for his decision, despite being all about that pirate life. I imagined that he would talk to Kwazii and be like.

“Just look at ya lad. Dedicatin’ yer life to helpin others. Yer really somethin Kwazii. Yer the best of all of us.” 😭

XD Spoiler alert, yes, Emmet will be fine. I’m not THAT cruel XD

have i said this before?? im gonna say it here right here rn

so i got a lil hc au for dsmp right? ngl its been difficult catching up with canon that my partner and i stemmed so far from it to create our own storyline out of it. :] i love thinking of it as an “ongoing” storyline. instead of things ending the way they did in the canon, it kinda keeps going. and it focuses more on the wholesome relational bonds they all make with each other, healing from their trauma.

for example, sam has grown far BEYOND his warden era. after realizing how much of a toll becoming a guard for the prison was and how little it did for his health, he retired out of it. he tried fixing himself up. especially struggling with insomnia, he’s tried reaching out for help. finding comfort in ponk, bonding with puffy, reconnecting with tommy and tubbo, who he used to be distant from.

tommy has made numerous attempts to move on from his past traumas. he’s found himself coping with making crafts and bracelets, sitting in the grass with tubbo and ranboo, reconnecting with his brother who he’s lost for years up until his revival (haha wilbur ofc), and overally rebuilding himself.

wilbur *especially* has a hugely developed character arc going on. instead of the canon where he comes back revived as a villain willing to finish off what he’s started, he’s come back miserable. after years of rest in limbo, the sudden shock revival has brought to him leaves him lost, unsure how to begin his new life. he’s isolated himself from the ones he used to love, afraid to make connections in fear of being ostracized by them. he suffers from body pain, hearing loss, especially for how long he’s been dead, i can imagine it completely altered his body. this was early revivebur, but to this day he’s been healing from that. <:)

ranboo, quackity, phil, techno, or niki?? i could go on and on about what we’ve changed about em :}

reason i havent talked about this yet is how complex it’s become HGAHSGS!! my partner and i have been building up this lil thing for years from roleplays n crap man. it’s practically expanded so far from the storyline with its own subplots that i cant talk about every little detail we made up? but the best i could do is show little tidbits here and there through my art. :]

in the au, i’d like to think its very similar to the canon in a way that the characters behave, the events play out, and their relationships. the main thing that differs is how we’ve cut off a lot of the aspects that just dont line up with the way we hc em. (examples: we didnt agree with sam’s apathy and aggression in the prison, the infected egg subplot thing, ranboo dying?, and kinda the characters in general permanently dying off, unless they came back revived in some significant way.)

things like lmanburg or doomsday we havent figured out how to include em in the storyline, but if we had to include them, they might be altered just to fit with our hcs. stay tuned for that teehee

its a silly au made by folks that couldnt catch up with the canon! so we just took the dsmp and went “this is ours now” 😁 smiles so evilly

im excited to show this off to the rest of you. youve already gotten peeks of it through my art, but i can’t wait until i can really go in-depth with some of the plots we’ve come up with. :]

Love hearing you speak on Roman so much like you get him!!

The man is leaking with paranoia and abandonment issues barely holding himself together with the title in his hand. Underneath the facade he shows, the manipulation, the gaslighting and the overall abuse he has been perpetuating he's just a man who's been rejected time and time again. From his peers,his family and the audience. He's gotten what so many have coveted but its empty and hollow. I'm interested in seeing how his character will progress after wrestlemania. Will people question his tribal chief title? Will he break down? How will the dynamics with his family members change? Honestly I'm waiting for Seth-Roman confrontation because it will be so ough

Side note but it's also really funny that he always gets betrayed by similar people like Seth,Sami and Jey. My little headcanon is that he lets his guard down with more light hearted people like Jey & Sami as a result of his Shield days. Roman to me is just in his own wrestling time loop lmao.

YES HAHA YES the reason i talk about him so much outside of like, special interest, IS because there's like three, four people on tumblr max speaking of his character and the storyline and actually exploring the meat of it instead of like............. hoping Big Samoan Daddy Wins Again so they can write self inserts or whatever. like i see so many people talk about punk with such passion and it's great and i'm also like look i know he's the big face of wwe and you don't care to see much of him but that's a shame bc what he and the rest of the bloodline have been doing is incredible, bar some missteps and longer lulls in the story. i agree that so much of his current character stems from a deep fear of rejection and a history of abandonment/betrayal from both other wrestlers and the audience itself, it's what makes him so tragic to watch and also so fascinating. like roman. buddy! by setting up such a horrifically abusive dynamic you're literally setting yourself up for people to leave you kicking and screaming, triggering the abandonment issues even more!

i know people have been complaining about his schedule in recent months (which imo stem more from like wwe management + irl stuff we're not privy too--it's important to remember that joe anoa'i's cancer isn't gone and it never will be, it's under constant management and he's mentioned having to switch treatments and their negative effects before) and tbh it has its issues, but i've enjoyed how...... pathetic he's been since jey left him. people have bitched about how diminished he feels, but i think it's 200% on purpose? after he wins matches now he doesn't walk around smugly like a final boss, he clings to his belt and goes to paul almost like a child seeking praise and reassurance. he cant win without solo and jimmy anymore but he doesn't like or trust them nor does he rely on them. he's terrified of solo and despises jimmy. currently the bloodline is in tatters, a shadow of its former self, and that's why it works!

the rock's inclusion, as much as i think it was a pivot, could be a real interesting way to mix things up after mania. for one i think that the only good decision rn is for roman to lose that damn title. he's been playing it this way for months now--the title feels like something he's clinging to, he has no control except for this! but it's interesting that during the press conference, the bloodline family tree named the rock as "high chief" which implies he's above roman in the hierarchy. and like. this is a toxic, shitty hierarchy! the twins were literally given to roman to do as he pleased bc he pulled rank on them, and this is unambiguously presented as something deeply abusive and a terrible state of affairs. the rock could do the same with roman!

so there are two things i'm hoping from roman post-mania, hopefully one or other other, or one after the other. this is assuming that he not only loses the titles, but that solo and rock tried to interfere only for roman's army of exes (now all cody's boyfriends) to get in there and stop that from happening.

the first thing i'd be interested in is roman sinking to whole new pathetic depths, to be stripped of what's left of his mystique until he's just a wounded mad king who cannot get over his kingdom being ash and dust. attacking others savagely (or pathetically failing to do so and being beaten the shit out of), others taking revenge after years of him dominating wwe in the same way the guys on raw tried to go after jey, and *especially* a potential feud with seth where the two are really at each other's throats, with seth confronting the monster he created and roman blaming him as the architect of his misfortunes, an easy target, something he can lash onto. i need him to lose that HARD and tragically. i need him to break and shatter to the point where the audience feels uncomfortable and even somewhat sad for him, same for seth.

the second thing i want to see is the rock pulling rank as high chief and roman, unconsciously or not, being relegated to the role jey used to be. rock proved in that conference he could do lowkey intimidating and more subtle acting that's not steeped in attitude era dramatics or flashiness, and wwe is playing on the idea that he and triple h are fighting for control behind the scenes in kayfabe. rock pushing roman out of the head of the table and roman slowly realizing what's happening as rock begins scolding and mocking him for not living up to what the family expect of him, progressively realizing he's going through what he put jey through (especially the manipulation and physical/mental abuse)--this would be a great way to eventually turn him face and build sympathy from the audience. it's gonna be HARD getting that sympathy, in part bc roman was such a charismatic heel and seeing him sink so low--it will def be harder to pull this off with him than with sami, the eternal underdog. but i think if they play it right they can have roman gradually realize the dynamics of the family are themselves hell, how much he contributed to it, and maybe others can reach out to him and try to tell him to get out. maybe even seth himself, or cody if he's still face, or sami. jey i'm hesitating on--i think it would work but only if he's yelling at roman to wake the fuck up and realize what this is at all. they would REALLY have to work for this, and it would take months if not a full year for it to actually be able to build to a face turn where roman would be *actually cheered*. i think it could work against the rock himself, now the authority over wwe, with roman having to make active amends with old enemies and gain forgiveness from people like jey and sami through active work. and it could inevitably lead to the roman/rock match they wanted so so bad. but i'd love a war games where roman isn't at the center, but has to learn to be part of an actual team and is struggling to not be at the center of the universe anymore. again this would be assuming wwe doesn't fuck it up and there aren't unplanned injuries or other plans. but to me it would be the most satisfying way to complete roman's arc--make him turn face *naturally*, and have him finally FINALLY receive the crowd's cheers and love after a lot of deserved work.

Lots of people are disappointed/annoyed with Starfield's ending I but think it's fucking awesome and here's why. I need to talk about Starfield's main story before I explode, which I will do so under the cut. At this point in time I'm in NG+, but I'm aware of certain things that happen in subsequent playthroughs.

(Don't you dare read this until you've done the main storyline, it's not worth spoiling yourself.)

I get it, the Starborn are assholes. They are selfish. They're humans being predictably human- fighting over power and having opposing ideas on what to do with it, ultimately ending up in large-scale conflict and not taking consideration the individual people and their families and friendships they've annihilated in each universe. Because to them it's just one more round of the game.

I think your reaction to the 'ending' hinges on the type of player you are. Teaming up with The Hunter to play Fortnite battle royale with the other Starborn was one of most exciting things I've done in a game.

The fact that you're on a whole different playing field from the non-Starborn is such a power trip but it also makes your relationships and encounters in each playthrough feel more fleeting and less precious. Conversely, for some players this possibly makes the friendships even more precious. I think this was intended.

If you love base building and ship building and maxing out relationships and squeezing everything you possibly can out of a playthrough and treasuring your perfectly curated universe then of COURSE you're going to hate the idea of that just all vanishing.

I'm personally more interested in the meta-narrative and cant wait to go fuck up 9 more realities until I face what I hope will be the consequences of my horrible, horrible actions.

For other people I think it's completely valid to just remain in NG. You can do everything in the base game. You can stay there forever and have a fantastic time with your world.

All you are missing out on by not hopping into NG+ is more knowledge and more power- which is EXACTLY what draws humans to become Starborn (and do many other horrible selfish things) in the first place. And I think that is so, so fitting for the story Bethesda is trying to tell.

Just thinking outloud! So I’ve been re reading the thing about destiny again and I’ve super duper been enjoying all the updates you’ve made!

I think I’ve gotten to the parts where you��ve stopped so far and it’s back to the OG (spiderman right?) which was very funny cuz then I remembered the basics of the OG Peter Parker storyline and it was totally Andrew Garfield at the time right?

Anyway that all had me thinking about how funny it is he’s technically in the MCU now and in what capacity Annalise finds herself hopping the the different universes and that it kinda matches up so well the Loki series stuff too haha.

That said I also love all ur AU Annalise stories too, so I got caught up in trying to decide if there are different Annalise’s hopping the different timelines in different universes or if it’s the same Annalise in all timelines and she just forgets other universes if she switches between them (like how she forgets her original life)!

Anyway love the fic as always! Cant wait to finish it again and read through the AUs again too!

Okay so yes, it totally was Andrew Garfield when I first wrote it! I still question if changing it was the right call, but I would love to one day call this story finished, so it did make more sense to do a retcon. Not a spoiler or anything, but in the new edited version, our boy Andrew doesn't actually make it to the MCU as I am starting to play with cannon and change things up! Totally crazy you should mention Loki as I only just now got around to watching season 2 and boy...did I get some ideas from that. I woke up at 6:50 for some reason I don’t even have a job. Why am I waking up so early? Maybe my brain just told me that somethings going to happen that’d be funny I put on my (f/c) clothes and brushed my teeth and just as I’m finishing my hair…*Bang bang bang* haha! Not waking me up today but I was half asleep and that did in fact startle me I want to go get the door, but since I was half asleep, I was still walking some what slowly, but as im almost at the door, “hey Julie maybe they aren’t up, I mean it is only 7:15!” A girl voice say “ NONSENSE VI (sounds like vie) OUR NEW NEIGHBOR NEEDS TO BE UP! HOW WOULD WE GET TO NOW THEM IF THEY WEREN’T UP!?” a girl who I assume is Julie says rather loud and nonchalantly, I hear the other girl sigh, and that was my cue to open the door and as I open the door I hear “HELLO IM JULIE AND I CAN WAIT TO BE FRIENDS!!!” The girl with big blonde hair takes one of my hands in both of hers and shakes it like crazy I feel like my arm was gonna fall off of it wasn’t attached so well, then I hear “Jul come down they obviously are overwhelmed give them a little space, and let them introduce themselves.” The other girl with white hair and purple eyes “finneee” Julie says “my name is y/n it’s nice to meet you Julie and vi.” I say trying to sound as welcoming as possible, I hear vi chuckle a bit. “ WELL HELLO Y/N ITS AMAZING TO HAVE YOU IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD I CANT WAIT TO PLAY BOSS LAD-“ “hey Jul how bout you go plan a picnic to introduce everyone to y/n?” Vi quickly interrupted julies quick rant. “THATS SUCH A GOOD IDEA VI!!! IM GOING TO DO THAT RIGHT NOW!” She runs off before I can say bye “ sorry about how energetics she is, she means well she really does doesn’t know how to express it, anyways I’m violet.” She puts her hand out for me to shake, I did and her hand felt like silicone while Julie’s felt like felt “hhm” “how about we have some coffee at my house and then I show you around” she asks. “That sounds nice” I respond she starts walking away and motions for me to follow. I scan her outfit she’s wearing a rainbow sweater with the sleeves rolled up so the sleeves would be hanging she also wore overalls with many decorative patches. “We are here!” She says in a sing song voice, we are at a light purple house covered with different patterns and designs, basically what you said you would make your house look like in first grade. “Well let’s go in!” She says as we walk in I notice different many different rooms with different labels, I don’t read them. She hands me a cup of coffee that was brewing as we were walking I guess. “Thanks” I say, it’s yummy unlike other bitter gross coffees. “We only have about 10 minutes until the picnic” she says calmly “wha-? How do you know that?” I say surprised “I know Julie” she says “I should show you around the neighborhood while we still have a chance” she say

hey!! you commented on my post ab mileven and byler and I looooved it. your explanation is genuinely the best one I’ve seen and from that point of view I can totally understand how mileven could work out.

I’m curious to know what you think about a few other things if you’re willing to answer!

1. I agree that if mileven is endgame the use of a lighthearted and funny breakup was a bad choice. but I’m wondering what you think of the fact that mike and will’s conversations in that season are very serious and obviously a lot of care was put into those scenes.

2. also, I reblogged a post a few days ago where the creator edited mikes monologue to be a bit more romantic and I’m wondering why they didn’t do a more isolated montage if it’s meant to be romantic. I’ve been racking my brain to come up with an explanation for this bc I like to try to find counterpoints to byler theories just to see if there are any you know. but I rlly cant understand why they didn’t make it more intimate and leave will out of the frame/show more memories.

Hello again, friend! Glad to see you enjoyed the analysis! I’d be more than happy to expand on these points, along with the other asks you sent.

1. I think the writer’s must have weighed which storylines could best fit a more lighthearted tone, and which really needed some seriousness. However, one of Season Three’s biggest weaknesses was its jarring tonal shifts. I don’t think Mike and El’s breakup should have been played for laughs, but I see why they picked that one over others for the lighthearted tone. However, just because something is played for laughs doesn’t mean it’s not important to the story, or that the writers didn’t care about it.

For Will’s storyline, it needed the weight of a serious tone. Playing it for laughs would have completely undermined Will’s trauma and the “coming-of-age” aspect. He’s screaming for help and attention, so playing that one for laughs would have seemed cheap and unimportant.

2. I think they were trying to focus on the big picture. Mike’s monologue wasn’t solely about their relationship. It was about El and how she views her place in the world. It was about reminding her that she can do anything she sets her mind to. Maybe they could have made it more pointed, but I guarantee if they had done that, there would be people asking why they didn’t do the opposite. In truth, it’s all about balance, and in that moment, El needed encouragement from someone she loves. She’s not basing her self-worth entirely on what he says, but there’s something to be said for hearing someone you love say that you’re capable and strong. El has always drawn strength from people she loves. Her mom, Hopper, Mike, etc. It’s not that the writers didn’t care, it’s that they were trying to encompass a lot of one storyline into a small amount of time.

Blame me entirely for waiting so long. Life got in the way, and then I took a social media break. Hopefully, I’ll get the other asks you sent answered soon.

wait seeing that post of holly with santana with the grate has me wondering. can she do freaky things with her body like the pillar men can? all the warping and reshaping and stuff? can jotaro??

ah! so this question comes into play with my storyline for Holly during her teen years in Italy with Adele.

Iv already 100% confirmed, they dont need to but can eat ppl. Unlike the full pillar men who can eat other things but mostly need vampires and blood for for their own nutrients or whatever. Holly and Jotaro kinda get away on the other end of it, being able to eat other things but their pillar man genetics still requiring around the same mass amounts of things they would get from eating a full person, they tend to need to keep up with having snacks, jerky and candies and stuff on hand to keep up with their sugar levels, or iron or whatever they need. But they dont need to eat people. they get by with regular food, and would only resort to eating if they were pushed to it or like in some cases (like jotaro) are pushed to the limit and feel threatened enough to go on auto pilot. Even just having extreme hungry moments can make them a lil cazy

as for individual powers like Wham's wind, or esidisi's hot blood or santanas body manipulation, Holly by the age of 17 hasn't figured out any of that stuff. She knows she has some pillar man stuff, she's a lot more durable, is bigger, clearly ageing psychically slower than others along with lots of other stuff.

But when her adventure in Italy with Adele, runs them into some trouble Holly is faced with the fact that while even faced with trouble, Adele is 2 years younger than holly and way more capable. shes a very skilled hamon user, only 15 years old and can basically take care of herself. While Holly struggles to know just where she stands as a Pillar human. She can't do Hamon because of her pillar genes, and being half human she's unsure she can even achieve pillar man skills. Outside of this she can barely do anything without feeling like running to her parents for help. Holly follows Adele around and wants to be like her, stronger and independent. She wants to be a "bad girl" and not care about what other people think or say about her. All while not realizing Adele would kill to be able to open up to others and care about them and not run the fuck away from people who care about her or struggle to accept help.

as of right now where i have my pillar fam writing for Holly, im not 100% what i want to do with her if i even say she has pillar man skills. I just know, she can eat ppl, she cant do hamon without being a mild pain to herself, and later in life has a stand that nearly kills her due to self stress. She's just doing her best and constantly on a life long journey of standing up for herself.

#also i can picture a scene in my italian summer holly storyline near the end #with holly taking up Adeles trick of using plant hamon infused plant life to attack ppl #and just huRting herself using it as she deals a final blow to some big boss enemy #joseph and caesar finally catching up to the girls after they ran away #caesar comforting adele because shes worried shes killed holly dragging her along on this stupid runaway adventure #and that caesar hates her and will make her leave #and caesar having to comfort her #while joseph is in a panic over holly NEARLY killing herself using hamon to save adele #thanking the world holly didnt kill herself with some stupid magic plant trick #wink wink to holly getting her stand #it all happening again kinda thing

I just wanted to warn you about the incoming spam tomorrow. I just finished Luofu trailblazer quests and now I am all ready to binge on your HSR works 👻

I finally finished it.

I am yet to play the character story quests and world quests.

But hear me out. Is it just me or did the Luofu quests feel really really rushed? Like I felt it got the Inazuma treatment. Like before one storyline could establish itself and sink in, we were already involved in a bunch of other things and other plots. Like I felt that they had a lot of ideas but had to string it together to form a singular plot.

Idk, I feel like I liked Jarillo story better as it felt well paced but I didn’t connect with any Jarillo characters. But with Luofu, I didn’t like the story but I liked the characters (cough cough Jing Yuan and Luocha (yeah I know he’s evil)). Man I went into Luofu quest thinking I’ll be a blade simp but ended up being a Jing Yuan simp instead. I am yet to play Blade’s quest (Kafka called me to help them but it’s literally 4am rn and I am like, Blade you will have to wait)

But long story short. I am going to be binging on your fics tomorrow and I am sooooo excited 🥰🥰🥰

you're kind of right? about the luofu arc, but honestly, it became less confusing BECAUSE of the detectives, the people who theorize and the overall fanarts/theories of the fandom who made the plot make more sense

if you're confused on some parts, i would love to indulge you in what i have information gathered (e.g. main points, species, jing yuan/blade/dan heng/jingliu relationship and things about the xianzhou luofu)

but! since im also done with the inazuma storyline, i can honestly say that i get what you mean? that the hyv didn't point out and explain too much about you know... stuff (like why blade is so damn obsessed with dan heng, more shit about the stellaron hunters n etc, aeons even!) but thats why fandoms exist! i dont even research much because i dont have time, but once i stumble upon a lore/fanart/or even drabble about something related to hsr, i just piece things myself, that and im a sucker for lore so i try to really understand things!

and the kafka companion quest

i found it funny and so- idk it makes you go blush BECAUSE of kafka, i dont wanna spoil but i hope you enjoy that specific quest! because it tells details about kafka's powers + we get a proper interaction with her finally (so i got to assess her whole personality n such for headcannons, example, in my herrscher of death!reader x hsr fic!)

oh and

i imagine you are swamped with irl things, juggling/grinding hsr and genshin, so starting honkai impact 3rd... it'll be so overwhelming for you (since i am, still trying to finish events) but if YOU decide to join in the honkai impact 3rd train as well, i will gladly, GLADLY help you and guide you with whatever you need!

hi3 is like, more combative, heavy HEAVY lore and we have characters over 50,000+ years old lmao, and actually, if you're familiar with the whole imaginary tree concept in hsr, you will eventually understand why ive decided to plan a honkai impact + hsr crossover series (because hyv makes it makes sense)

so to be absolutely clear about this: i do not believe jade was intentionally written as a racist character. i do not think the way she is rude to nate is MEANT to read as racist in any way. to be honest, i wasn't thinking about it that way when i first watched it. but these are not real people and everything they do is a choice made by writers, and the way it was written WAS racist. even if you don't want budge on your opinion of jade and how she specifically is written, if you don't see any behind the scenes racism in the way nate shelley and his storylines were written over the course of the show then i don't know what to tell you.

but lets get into it. (under the cut because i have quite a lot to say)

as i said, i didn't initially interpret jade's treatment of nate as racist. when i got to s3 and she showed up again, i remembered NATE being mean to HER and not liking her very much, so i was mainly thinking "why would he want to get with her, and why would she want to get with him?" but, after reading other people's (specifically fans of color) interpretation of the storyline, i went and revisited the episode, and realized that, yeah, she's shitty to him for no reason, in a way that can definitely come off as racist. WE as the audience know nate has been being a dick all season - she doesnt! so what she sees is, as you said, an awkward brown man coming into the restaurant and stumbling through asking for a reservation. now, maybe it's just my own difficulty with social cues, but i don't see anything in that first scene that i would call an "unsubtle power play" - maybe you're talking about the "sorry i was waiting for you to ask if i needed anything," which, imo, is a stretch. i understand where you might be coming from, but... how is this any different than how he might have behaved in season 1? like, i'll admit that i do read nate as autistic which can affect my interpretation of certain things but like... to me thats just him voicing like "ah, sorry i'm being awkward, here's an awkward over-explanation of why." and then the "i know roy kent" thing is DEFINITELY not a "power play", it's him being desperate for something that might work to get the table he wants. like the point of this scene is not to portray him as some kind of power-drunk asshole, it's to show that he's an awkward bumbling idiot who can't be assertive and hates himself for it. i honestly, genuinely, do not see anything in that scene that comes off as misogynistic.

honestly, i don't personally think jade is too awful in this scene, it seems like she's also a bit awkward and not really performing the expected social conventions as a hostess, and if it weren't for the larger context this might not have been so bad. but there's a couple things going on here, for one the look she gives him when he asks for the window table, like he's an idiot for even asking (and please don't argue that he technically doesn't "ask," he says he really wants to make sure he gets it then says its important to his parents. seems like a pretty fucking normal thing to do imo). and then to have her say "okay we can reserve a specific table - in the back corner - but we CANT reserve the window table. we could for someone else, but not for YOU" is like.

again, the point of this scene is to make nate feel bad about himself, and media doesn't exist in a vacuum. the ted lasso writers may like to pretend they're colorblind, and that misogyny is the only problem in the world and racism only exists when its the Topic Of The Day (and never affects nate, apparently) but we live in the real world and can see that nate is a brown man, and in fact the only one on the show. it would be naive, i think, to say that this has nothing to do with nate's arc in s2. given how horribly his arc is executed on almost every level, i doubt this was the writers' intention, but intention isn't everything. the handling of nate's storyline is a topic for its own post, but it makes a lot of sense that nate's race and experiences of racism play into his feelings of insecurity and emasculation (for lack of a better term) as he is being ignored and overshadowed by white men - in fact, it goes a long way to explain a lot of his underwritten motivation. so here he is, walking into a restaurant and being looked at and spoken to by white people as though he doesn't belong, in a scene that is DESIGNED to make him feel bad. even if jade herself isn't intended to be racist, this is part of a LARGER PATTERN of how nate is treated both by the narrative and by other characters.

but wait, i imagine you arguing back, this is only the first sequence, before he decides to go back and be more assertive! what about spitting on the mirror! what about when he makes DEMANDS? what about THOSE misogynistic power plays?

well, jade doesn't push back against those, does she? in fact, she seems to be impressed, as she sort of smirks and goes "okay" in a satisfied voice and gives him the table. the lesson of this episode is that nate being a dick WORKS for him. his problem, we are told, is not that he was a being misogynistic or something, it's that he was too awkward, and if only he stopped being awkward and "made himself big," he would be respected.

on that note, i don't want to gloss over the scenes with rebecca and keeley either. i won't pretend he DOESN'T say anything that is or could be construed as misogynistic (but, be honest with yourself, he's not the only character in the show who says misogynistic things, he's just the only one who's not allowed to be forgiven, apparently). there's the comment about, "oh maybe some of those groupies would be nice haha" (which he immediately feels awkward about and apologizes for), the "dithering kestrel" thing (which is him overcorrecting after being told to be assertive). this is a larger trend with nate, where he is definitely written as making these kinds of comments more often, but it always seems to be something he's trying to do in order to perform a certain kind of masculinity in order to be accepted or respected (not that that would justify these things in real life, but it's important context to keep in mind). and rebecca is like... such a jerk to him in this scene too?? like on top of talking down to him, there's the moment where he's like "well it's different for me" (and does not explain what he means by that, so we are left to assume that maybe he just means because he's small and awkward?) and rebecca is like "well things are hard for me as a woman so i just feel my power girlboss my way through :)" and its like. why can we explicitly acknowledge that she specifically has to earn space and respect as a woman but never acknowledge the situation nate is in as a brown man???

if this was the real world, and these were real interactions between real people, it might be fair to say that hey, we can't dismiss someone's misogyny just because they are also marginalized. but this is not the real world, it is a fiction created by writers, so perhaps you should be asking yourself WHY THEY ARE WRITING THE BROWN MAN LIKE THIS
