That's essentially what I've thought yes! It would be something close to what Lord Milori and Queen Clarion had.

Hiccup finds the existence of this cold world and its fascinated by it, so he idealizes all this clevers ways to spend time there. One day Jack sees him and it's amazed by all the ideas the tinker fairy has, so, in one of the many tries Hiccup does to stay on the winter land, Jack finally decides to approach and help him, finding it impossible on not looking for him on his following attempts, and so they slowly fall in a forbidden love.
