► 4t3 - Island Living - Mermaid Stuff - DF & non-DF

Alright, so...this is not as much a conversion as it is a mash up (a.k.a. Frankenmesh). Here’s what I mean by that:

- Meshes: I took the tails from TS3 and combined them with the fins from TS4 (because the S4 tails have a different UV and in order to fit TS3 they would’ve needed to be re-UV-mapped);

- Textures: a combination of TS3 and TS4 textures -TS3 for tails and TS4 for fins (only because the S4 textures look horrendous in TS3, at least the ones for tails do).

PLEASE READ the details I listed under CREATOR NOTES bellow !!!

Details:

Original meshes by EA/Maxis, I just put them together;

Ages: Teen to Elder, both genders;

All LODs & Morphs;

Disabled for random (for non-defaults);

Custom normal maps included;

Custom thumbnails for both Launcher and CAS (though the game might ignore them and generate normal thumbnails instead;

Format: package files;

Programs: S4Studio, Blender, Milkshape, Photoshop, MeshToolKit, TSRW, S3PE.

!!! The Sims 3 Island Paradise required (for everything except the male tops, those are base game).

What does this upload contain? (so glad you asked!)

2 mermaid tails named Fin One and Fin Two (DF & non-DF) from TS4;

2 female tops - non-DF - these were made by me because of -again- questionable textures n TS4 that don’t match TS3 art-style;

1 male top (converted from TS4 <-> non-DF because by design the male mermaids in TS3 don’t have a default mermaid top);

1 (pair of) stockings - DF M & F (made by me; will replace the “markings” your mermaid sims have on their legs while on land).

EDIT: On a anon's request, I added a NON-DF version for the accessory scales. It's base game compatible, has 3 presets with 3 recolorable channels and is available for both genders from teen to elder.

Edit 16.07.2023: uploaded the male kelp top as accessory as requested by @dezailes2cochon.

! The reason why I listed the polycounts like this is because it’s up to you to decide whether you’re comfortable using:

the non-default-replacements (in which case only your sims will use them as long as you’ve changed them in CAS).

!!! Attn !!! -> The default replacement tails and female tops use only the first preset because I haven’t found a way to integrate additional maps (UVs, in this case) to a default replacement.

Creator Notes:

Here’s where it gets interesting!

If you decide on using the DFs - INSTALL ONLY ONE OF EACH!!!!!!!

And to give you an example, here’s how I’m using the default replacements: Fin One for females (the DF files for TF, AF& EF), Fin Two for males (the DF files for TM, AM & EM), stockings for both genders (DF female & DF male).

As I said above the DF files have only the first preset. The non-DF have 5 presets, each with their own individual UV. Meaning I’ve made patterns out of the UVs to better emulate the patterns on the S4 tails. See bellow the difference in UVs and how they control the channels. It’s applicable to both tails and female tops. This is the only advantage of using the non-DFs in my opinion. But you can have both DFs (only one of each!!!) & non-DFs in your game at the same time and maybe use one of the patterns in the non-DF for that one “special” mermaid.

The stockings aren’t the best aligned to the UV, I’ll admit it. But any misalignments (only along the seams) can only be noticed if you look closely.

This appears to be a common issue when installing default-replacements (you’ll know this if you have DF hairs in your game). Upon loading the DFs for the first time you might encounter a texture issue where you can see the new mesh, but the texture has not loaded properly. Like in this example:

To fix it, you either take the sim in CAS with Nraas MC - Stylist (you don’t need to change anything, just get them in and out of CAS) and/or -if that doesn’t work- go ahead and save, quit and reload the game. This should fix the issues.

For NON-DF tails it’s mandatory that you use invisible feet This is what I’m using: 1 or 2 (find the null feet files inside the download). But keep in mind that because of the way the package was constructed, Dashboard might display them as corrupted. That’s because of the age categories being all in one file and not separated. Haven’t caused issues in my game so far and I've been using them since December. Anyway, the important thing is you need invisible feet for NON-DFs.

Let's Talk About Notion

So, I use Notion for plenty of non-writing things to keep myself organized, but the main thing I use it for is writing. And I love it because it can be simple--just pages nested within pages and including lists or paragraphs--or as complex as you need. The template I use for keeping track of my novels I did pay $20 for, but that was to the random person who put in all the time and effort and not to the company. There are free templates and if you put in the time to figure it out, you can make the complex ones yourself. And I do have a side page to just add pages for random ideas and not clutter my official system.

Anyway.

This is the front page of my favorite Notion template ever, WIP. I can add as many projects as I'm working on, complete with cover pages (which I use just to be thematic but if I had actual covers I could upload those too) and summaries, but those aren't the practical parts. Based on the word count goal I entered, it tells me how close I am, as well as calculating how many book pages each takes up and how long it would take to read.

There are also tabs for concept stories that I'm still planning and don't want to count towards my word count goal yet, and archived ones that I'm putting on hold.

under the projects section, still on the front page, I have word count cards where I can enter my daily word count and it automatically updates the goal based on the end word count goal for all active projects and the date I said I wanted to finish each.

If I open one of my projects, it gives me all this info in what is technically the header. I entered the summary, genre, dates, and goals, but it calculated the rest.

That page includes chapters, which I can put in different stages of development, name, and move around; characters to keep track of, which I can attach to relevant chapters, and tasks I don't really use but they work as a checklist. That may be more useful when I'm in the 3rd draft and editing.

Below all of that there's also a storyboard. I don't use it for TDATS and I don't really want to share the one I do use regularly, but basically they're pages attached to various chapters and you can use them as scenes or events to plot out the story, move things around, and get an idea of what's happening before writing.

I prefer to write my actual stories in Word, but I could write them here directly in the chapters. There's also a spot to include specific words used or introduced in a chapter. Most of what I use these for is keeping track of word count, because you have to add them to the chapters for them to be added together into the project total. But it calculating how long it takes to read each chapter is certainly fun.

Anyway, you should definitely use Notion--there are other writing templates if you want something free or just different, and you don't have to use templates at all, but as a chaotic neurodivergent author, this has seriously helped my organization and planning.

The website is notion.so and there's desktop and mobile apps and the service itself is free. I guess there is a pro version but I think that's only useful if you're trying to use it as a team for work.

Mod Malware Situation Update

Edit 2023-06-09: The researchers have updated their guidance to all-clear on unmodded versions of Minecraft Java, and work continues with both CurseForge and Modrinth to improve safeguards against new variants or copycat attacks. They are still advising staying away from mods a bit longer while this work continues.

As an additional note, I want to clarify something I don't think was clear in my original post: this was not a failure on CurseForge. What went down here has happened to other platforms. It's just the first time such a malicious package attack has been observed in the Minecraft modding scene. It may not be the last.

Original Post Follows:

As you may have seen yesterday, the modded Minecraft community is experiencing a malware incident.

The quick "do I need to worry" is if and only if all the following are true:

you are using Minecraft Java Edition

. . . and are using any mods or modpacks

. . . and those mods were downloaded/updated in the last 2-3 weeks or possibly as far back as March (timeline still unclear as of my post)

If any of the above were not true for you, then you should be clear. Investigators are advising maximum caution even of vanilla Minecraft, more on that at the end of this post.

If all of the above were true, don't panic. You just need to take a few extra steps to be sure.

A document for non-technical users explaining the situation in more detail and steps to take has been developed on github.

If you used any of the scripts from yesterday to verify your stuff, you may still want to try the new tools which will peak inside the mod files for that extra sure feeling.

The document provides links for checking yourself out, and what to do if the worst case happens.

Okay, so, why is the document recommending not even running even vanilla Minecraft Java

There are a lot of brilliant people working on this incident, and they're all smart enough to not give an all-clear until all the facts are known.

Everyone wants fast results. Accuracy takes time.

The way this malware worked was to infect all Java jar files it finds on the system.

Including Minecraft itself.

Including things that have nothing to do with Minecraft.

This spreading to infect other jar files appears to be how it spread to infect legitimate mod files:

The malicious mods have upload dates multiple weeks in the past. Most of them were uploaded by single-use accounts with clearly autogenerated names, and were likely the seed of the infection. Luna Pixel Studios was compromised due to a dev testing one of these mods, as it was an interesting new upload.

At the end of the day, it's all about risk. They can't give a clean bill of health just yet, so they won't. If it turns out that something bigger and nastier was happening, they'd be on the line for that.

This is also why every list of mods published by the investigators comes with the "not comprehensive" disclaimer -- it's what we know. What we don't know can still hurt us.

So, running vanilla launcher for vanilla Minecraft Java is considered a risk. It may be low-risk.

Is it a risk I'm willing to take? Maybe next week, when I know more. (I often wait a week after an update, which coincidentally happened yesterday, so this just happens to align with how I do things normally)

If it's a risk you take, just be safe, stay vigilant, and keep an eye on the main repository of information for more news because I am not a reliable reporter.

Mary Magdalene Faltetto (Farutetto) Dress Unboxing + Details

2023 edition, navy (sample) and mist (2017) colorways.

Please keep reading under the cut for more detail pictures, descriptions, waxing poetic etc.

Note: This dress is commonly translated as "Farutetto", but I will be calling it Faltetto from here on as Mary Magdalene has previously translated it as such.

Other note: If the video isn't loading on my blog, you can view it on my instagram, but the quality is a lot worse and it's split into parts.

Words cannot describe how elated I am to own these two pieces, which I have had quite the history with! And, I feel incredibly lucky to have obtained not one but two pieces from Mary Magdalene's sudden update.

The mist colourway especially had been an item that I had been pining over for a long time and had always regretted backing out of paying a SS to preorder it when advance reservations for this new colourway (which later became "exclusive reservations" when MM failed to open any general reserve to the public after, and to this day) opened to attendees of a Chinese event in Guangdong, in 2017.

And the navy...I had preordered it via a Chinese SS for the Le Panier event in Shanghai in 2018 (announced to be an exclusive colourway, along with a lilac), only for it to be cancelled a year later! So I am very happy to own this sample version which is likely the same one used for the Le Panier event.

I have written a long, rambly post that goes into more detail of the history of where the Faltetto samples might have come from, + Mary Magdalene's activities that I am aware of from around 2017, so please check it out if you like.

Actual worn/coord photos will be in a separate post (or a few separate posts), but following will be some detail photos with a little bit of overlap from the video.

The bedspread I used is super wrinkly in the video and my photos, so I apologize in advance for that.

This was my first time purchasing directly from Mary Magdalene! I'm super thankful to rabbitreverie, who let me know that MM had suddenly updated their website with a message that they were planning to upload a few items the next day (or that night? I can no longer remember), with only a vague time frame given (in the evening). We both stayed up all night refreshing, and everything MM uploaded sold out in about 5 minutes (a lot of the stock was sample pieces, so only one was available, I reckon).

So as it follows, this was my first time receiving a Mary Magdalene branded box. I had the package sent to a forwarding service and asked them to keep the shipping box for this reason!

Unfortunately, the box did get super banged up not only in shipping, but also when it was consolidated, and it's quite misshapen now. Plus, the warehouse clearly opened up the box so I don't get that "freshly cracked open" experience, oh well. At least the pieces inside seemed to be untouched.

Both dresses came in a plastic garment bag with a very ordinary, flimsy plastic hanger, which was then folded into a thin non-woven dust bag, and further packaged in a "Mary Magdalene" logo branded plastic bag (without handles).

Since I'm a terrible hoarder of branded items, it was nice to get some more Mary Magdalene bags. I have just a couple that came with some coats I bought many years ago. I believe there was a point where Mary Magdalene shipped branded wooden hangers with their pieces, but no longer (I am not sure if such a thing was a special novelty for larger items like coats, or if it was commonplace back then).

Here are the hangers--at the point of photographing I had removed the dresses, so just imagine the dresses in there like the video. For whatever reason, the hangers are different, but they are both cheap plastic so it's whatever.

Only the Mist colourway came with a fabric swatch--I assume this is because it was a non-sample and was considered to be the 2017 standard release (so, this is how the dress would have shipped in 2017). One interesting thing is that both tags have the pink tag design, even though I swear I saw a red tag design on the maroon faltetto dresses from last year.

It's somewhat impressive that Mary Magdalene printed a tag for the sample pieces at all, as they really didn't need to bother (I feel like most brands don't)!

On to the dresses! I didn't take any extra photos of the two pieces side by side, so you can reference the very first photo in this post for that.

The colours are just gorgeous. I had wanted the mist for a very long time, but I'd be hard pressed to choose only one out of the two if I needed to. The mist is a lovely blue-toned gray which seems to change depending on the lighting, but the mature dark tone of the navy is also lovely!

Mary Magdalene had noted two differences between the navy sample piece and regular releases of faltetto: first, the chemical lace at the bodice is different; and second, the buttons that secure the neck ties to the bodice are different (regular release have sort of matte textured buttons that match the dress in colour, the samples have plain clear buttons). Both are minor and the construction of the piece seems to be the same as a typical release of faltetto.

I have to personally wonder if the sample pieces are handsewn by the designer (Rieko Tanaka) herself, though!

A closeup of the skirt section. One difference I've noticed between newer faltetto dresses released in 2017 and after is that the rose lace on the tier here is gathered along with the skirt. I don't think I've seen it gathered on the older faltettos (or at least, not on the other ones I own, of which their release year is technically unknown).

Hopefully this photo portrays the difference in lining. Usually faltetto uses a kind of satin textured lining, but the navy lining is a very ordinary polyester lining with a slightly cheaper feeling. It doesn't change the dress very much, but I can see the choice of material adding to the "sample" factor of the dress.

This is the back of the bodice. Part of faltetto's design appeal is the partial shirring panel at the back, which makes its sizing a lot more forgiving than a lot of other Mary Magdalene.

The image might be a bit small, but perhaps you can also see the difference in neck tie buttons.

The bustle ties are tied in bows at the back of the navy! I wonder if tying them is something leftover from when it was worn for the Le Panier fashion show...?

A closer look at the bustle ties and the little loops that you thread the ties through to bustle it.

The fabric of both is a textured chiffon--I think it's sometimes called georgette or pearskin by brands? I was concerned that the fabric would be thin because the chiffon used on my 2017 maroon faltetto is quite thin, but the fabric on both mist and navy seem to match my other faltetto releases.

That was all the mist/navy faltetto photos I took, so while we are on the topic of 2017's maroon, here are more comparison photos between those two. I figured it might be interesting putting them side by side because allegedly both of these pieces were produced in 2017 for Chinese lolitas who had pre-reserved (I bought the maroon secondhand in 2018, so I can say relatively confidently that it is the 2017 release and not 2022).

As far as I could tell, aside from the main fabric used, the construction seems to be pretty identical. The lining on the maroon might be a bit wrinkly from storage, but it has that satin sheen like the mist.

Maybe not the best photos, but hopefully these close-ups express the difference in fabric texture and thickness between the two. The chiffon used for maroon definitely feels somewhat cheaper and common, somehow.

Lastly, here's the washing tag. They also seem identical, except unfortunately it looks like the previous owner of maroon cut the tag and removed the extra button for some reason (the other side of mist's tag has an extra necktie button attached). The navy has no washing tag at all, which I suppose makes sense with it being a sample (however, it does have a "Mary Magdalene" brand tag sewn into the inner facing of the bodice).

By the way, while I was loading petticoats under the mist JSK for photos, I discovered that it had a minor factory defect!

It seems that one of the threads tacking the main skirt fabric to the lining was sewn down to the wrong seam of the lining. There is both a side seam and a side back seam to the lining, with the side back being where the lining's snap is attached (for the bustle). With the skirt fabric attached like this, when you try to raise/bustle the lining with the snap, there is a puckering effect.

Thankfully, it's an easy fix (I undid the thread tack and re-knotted it to the right seam), but not what I expected from the mist colour technically being first-run quality!

Fixed, and now the skirt can be bustled nicely!

That's all for this post, I think! At this point I have all of 5 faltetto dresses, which is...ouch. I never thought I'd end up with so many. I may need to find some way to utilize all 5 at once...

Updates! YouTube Stuff

Howdy folks! Just a few updates for the youtube channel

Videos Names

Short and quick-- I ended up changing the name of the sprite animation videos into battle animation videos. I was thinking of calling them "Sprite Animations, Magia, and Doppel" but that felt too long.

To be honest, the videos don't get a lot of views or engagement-- which is fine. I think that archiving them is worth it, and I don't think these are the kind of things people will watch over and over? But I do wonder if they're not viewed as much because people might think that they are only sprite attacks and not magia and doppels and stuff. I'm kind of hoping that "Battle Animations" will clear things up, because I don't wanna add the "Magia and Doppels" part to it.

If it doesn't, then I'll leave it as is. It's a little sad if they're lesser viewed but that's fine ultimately.

TO BE CLEAR THIS IS NOT ME BITCHING ABOUT VIEWS, I WOULD STILL DO THIS EVEN IF THEY GOT LIKE 5 VIEWS IN TOTAL. Just, more that I was thinking that maybe I'm not being very clear about what's in them? ANYWAYS

Recordings

So! I've been trying to finish up my animation project so that I can devote my time and energy to other things~

This is how much is left to record! Naturally a lot of the collab girls are kind of. Well it's going to be a bit.

Chisato and Haruka are giving me pause. When I started recording about two years ago (and then deleted all the files and started over and then deleted them all gain and started over again), I kinda assumed that Suzune would get a rerun, and I could nab those two and easily record their non max-ascended forms but uh. Not sure if that'll ever happen? I'm wondering if I should just record them regardless and release an updated version if we ever get a banner for them again. Lots to think about.

Meanwhile, the above is a short screenshot of how many I've completed. Yeah... 194..... This isn't including the girls who still need to be uncapped either. My computer has more space now, it's amazing to move them permanently to the backup now.

These are all the ones that have completed recordings that still need to be edited and uploaded:

Editing doesn't take too long, it's just that my computer slows down and it starts to take a long time when you have like tens of them to do. But I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel! ...Still need to record a bunch, but I have lots of queue so things should be fine.

I kind of wish I had done some things differently, but oh well. When it comes to my channel, I feel like... well, you don't really get quality, but you do get quantity. Even if that's not technically as good, I think there is still value in it. idk.

Thumbnails

My stupid ass was looking at the channel and decided to redo a bunch of thumbs, and hey did you know that there is a 100 limit on how many thumbnails you can upload in a day? Sucks man.

Anyways, the transformation thumbnails are mostly updated and I just have about fifty left to upload now:

A while ago I started to make the characters' names a few pixels larger than the rest of the text, and it's been bothering me for a while that some vids had the bigger text and other vids didn't, so uhhh. Yeah. I also ended up changing a bunch of thumbs so that they show the end shot. Is that the better choice...? I'm not sure. I think it might make the thumbs more boring, but I think it's also more upfront about the fact that they're transformation videos.

More importantly, I also decided to redo the battle animations thumbs!

At first it was because I wanted to put "battle animations" in the thumb but I ended up deciding that plain old "animations" looks better. So why am I still changing all of them? Well...

I'm super honored that my stupid lil channel is getting used for the gallery section for the girls! See here on the fandom wiki. But then I was looking at it and man, that thumbnail sure does look fucking ugly when it's all blown up in your face like that. And if people are gonna use my stuff (🥺), I'd at least like it to look nice on their site...?

So I'm using the sprites from the magireco sprite viewer (rip), although unfortunately it's missing some/doesn't have new stuff/won't be updating anymore. But at least some of the new sprites will look better.

I know how to get some stuff off of Rika.Ren for datamining-ish, but sprites aren't one of them, and tbh I'm kind of not interesting in learning new things atm. So stealing off the Puella Magi Wiki is the best we'll get. But still! Older videos will have better thumbs. And oh man, some of them were ugly as fuck.

...I still need to make uhhh 200 more of them ish but I'll work on that tonight.

Playlists

Much to my displeasure, the results for the poll I made pointed towards folks deciding that more videos in a playlist is better, so I'm redoing all the playlists I had foolishly trimmed (this is also how I noticed some thumbnail problems and then got obsessively focused on fixing them last night instead of the playlists).

A couple of playlists still need to be redone-- I basically deleted everything in them, 'cause it's easier to just start over instead of dragging things around (especially when you get past 100, as it'll stutter and boot you to a different place). But I'm slowly getting there, and they should all be back up by tonight? The Madoka one will take the longest I think; that was easily 150+ videos if I recall correctly.

I also put all the battle animation videos currently uploaded into the battle animation videos playlist.

Originally I was trying to upload the videos in order of release, to make it easier on myself when putting it into the playlist. But that was kind of frustrating, especially when I had already released some out of order and then you factor in holidays... So fuck it! They're all in there now, even if they're private.

This is what you see when you're not on my channel (and you select to see hidden videos). Woops. Oh well!

But this means I'm more willing to go out of order in the uploads :)

Conclusion

I really wanted to get this all wrapped up so I can start to move on to other things! Like, ya know, my webcomic project. And also liveblogs!

Oh speaking of which... wait maybe I should make it a separate update... hmmmm. Yeah I'll do that.

Anyways, yeah! It'll be nice once I no longer need to upload a video every day, but it's also not too bad. I'm just glad I have a huge amount of queue, which'll give me time to look for some of the older collab characters. I'm not entirely sure how I'll film their little poke animations... Maybe I'll have to ask around, or perhaps use the kyugay sprite site? I have no idea how to record my screen. Ah man.

But I think the channel is heading towards a decent place, and I'm excited to finish everything up :)

{Master Chief x Reader - One Shot}

{A╱N} i was listening to a very dramatic slowed and reverb’d song when this idea popped into my head. i myself am dramatic and constantly longing to have my consciousness uploaded into a sexy spartan until i die of rampancy, and so Kismet was penned.

a little backstory (because if i turned this into a series we’d be here forever, just look at 'Before the Fever'— but if you want that i can totally do that too!): you’re a human, kidnapped by The Covenant and integrated with the most advanced form of A.I. in the galaxy to become their own version of Cortana meets Spartan. *inhales.* but instead of using physical strength, you’re like a technological god. also you’ve managed to never learn Chief’s name somehow- that’s pertinent for this one lol. he’s just a Spartan to you, i guess.

i had pablo’s chief in mind as the main inspo for this, but i believe it can pair with either chief you prefer, because when I read it back to edit it, I kept hearing blue team chief, too.

anyway, i hope you enjoy my odd little first person pov, completely non-canon idea. ♡

“All of this.. All that I create... It’s all that I am,” I whispered.

“You’re more than that,” was all The Master Chief murmured through his helmet, a gloved hand resting over my own against his armored chest.

It should’ve offered some sense of solace, some comfort to ease the pain. But all I could think of was the detriment I was to anyone and everything around me.

Our discreet confessions to one another were sudden, though they’d been a long time coming. Once the Treaty of 2552 was established, we worked closely with each other, The Spartan and his team often being sent to High Charity for various reasons.

As time ticked on and feelings progressed, it all became too much— got too out of hand. I wasn’t in a position to.. to fall in love.

He certainly wasn’t, either.

I shook my head, my frustration beginning to peak.

“And you know what I can do with it?” I continued despite his sentiment, my visage full of anguish as I tried to bring him to understand.

My hand trailed off of his chest as I slowly crossed toward the edge of the balcony, the absence of his hand over mine felt in the depths of my heart. The floor length dress I wore swept around my feet as I willed myself to stare at all that I had created in my manic fit to show him just what I was capable of.

Holograms with classified information, various technological objects, weapons and crafts, architectural creations and inhuman life forms I’d called upon— all stilled, suspended in midair. It looked as though there had been an explosion of code, the device that contained it disintegrating and forcing its contents into real time. The electricity, the vibrant awakening feeling that surrounded us was thick enough to taste. But looking upon the power I embodied held a hint of sorrow. Where I had normally been awash with pride, amusement, I was now engulfed in hopelessness.

In one swift movement, I raised my hand once more, hesitating, hoping to feel something, anything, that might stop me from what I was about to do. But even if that sensation ever had appeared, making my point to 117 was more important. He had to know the severity of my existence.

He had to.

And so, bringing my hand down again with force, I watched as everything I had created so quickly, so effortlessly, I destroyed just as easily. Earth shattering damage sprawling for miles beyond what I had just breathed life into. Lives were lost. Long time projects eradicated. It was only a matter of time before they questioned me, now.

Everything seemed to crumble before us— disappear in flecks of disembodied light, fracturing under the pressure of my own hand. The crackling and sparking sounds of every element before us sounded like nails on a chalkboard to me as it all fell apart. I left nothing in my wake but destruction and carnage. When I reached my end, when my programming started to falter, it would only get worse.

He had to know.

Not an ounce of guilt became me otherwise. I’d been billed as unkind, cruel, uncaring of any life, biological or artificial. I was a warning in and of itself. But this time, I had only done it to prove myself. To show The Spartan just how dangerous I really could be.

How could he not believe me after everything we’d been through? After all the battles fought and won? Why would he make me show him this way?

There was no way he had been so oblivious, no way he could trust me as much as he seemed to. Yet, he still seemed to hold out some kind of unspoken faith in me. It was more than anyone ever had.

And I couldn’t turn around. I couldn’t face him. Everything I touched, I could erase… As though it never existed at all. I didn’t want to watch him make that realization. I couldn’t bear to see him turn around.

“I can destroy it all in the blink of an eye,” I maintained as though he couldn’t already see the proof; my voice soft, yet, emphatic with hurt.

My eyes grew glassy as I stared at the wreckage of what was left. Absorbing the situation I found myself in, I took a few steps backward, running my hands back through my hair. With an exhale, I gripped onto my roots, pulling gently as I dipped my head forward.

My hands were weapons, my mind the same. As much as I wanted him to be, as much as I wanted to keep him forever, he wasn’t safe with me. He never would be.

He never could be.

The galaxy seemed to spin around me as I felt a sob making its way through my chest. My knees hit the stone flooring, my face in my hands then. There was no concealing the devastation I felt; the disappointment. I’d never wanted for anything, let alone anyone.

It was so unfair, what they’d done to me; what I had become at the hands of The Covenant. It never bothered me before, to be a weapon, a leader. Useful only until imminent deletion once I was no longer needed. I had no idea the kismet set in place– what was written in the stars for me that laid ahead.

Teardrops fell from my eyes like stars burning into the atmosphere. But where I thought I’d hear them disappear, I heard The Master Chief’s footsteps nearing instead. The Mjolnir he wore rubbed together as he knelt down beside me, and there was a quiet hiss before his helmet was placed on the floor. I simply stared at the piece of armor, unable to will myself to look up, to look into the face of the man I had fallen in love with after all this time..

If I did, I would’ve completely sealed both of our fates.

We both knew that.

“Don’t let me do that to you,” I whispered through my emotion, staring only at the golden shield of the sturdy design. “Don’t let me do that to you.”

His hand slowly reached beneath my chin, gentle fingers tipping it upward and sideways to face him. It always surprised me how fragile he treated me despite the tough reputation that preceded him. I kept my eyes cast downward, not wanting to solidify things to the point of no return.

Not wanting to be the thing that kills him in the end.

For having been built into something so mechanical, so artificially augmented, everything felt so.. real, again.

“Look at me,” he said, his tone soft, a rare occurrence I’d only experienced in brief stolen moments alone.

My lip trembled, a warm tear rolling off of my chin. So badly did I want to, need to. I couldn’t bring myself to do it. Despite everything they’d said about me, to me— I cared too much about The Master Chief.

“Please..” he asked again, an edge of desperation in his voice.

Swallowing hard, I squeezed my eyes shut, the wetness matting my eyelashes.

“{Y/N}…” he whispered, pleading with me.

That was something I’d never heard from him before. Something no one in the universe thought ‘The Demon’ was capable of, no matter what side you were on.

My heart, what was left of it, mercilessly pulled at me to oblige. Cautiously, very extremely slowly, as though it might somehow change the outcome of our destinies, my {e/c} eyes made their way upward. They fell on the Mjolnir that encased his strong frame; the number that he wore with pride on his chest.. the new sight of flesh on his neck, the way his jawline cut just above it, covered in stubble, his lips— slightly downturned from his own melancholy due to the circumstance.. his vibrant eyes…

Oh, his eyes..

I was completely and irrevocably captivated all at once, a willing victim to his stare. Wrapped up in all that he was beneath the helmet, it was clear we both knew just what we’d gotten ourselves into. The entire universe stood still the second our eyes finally met without the familiar barrier between us to keep the desire at bay. Nothing else mattered, nothing else existed.

Just him, and I.

There were a million stirrings to be felt, acted upon, but all I wanted was to get lost in the moment for as long as we possibly could. Before things got more complicated, before I succumbed to any malfunction within my code.

“Chief,” I whispered between another faint sob.

“John,” he breathed, a careful thumb running underneath my eye. “It’s John.”

“John..”

The faintest of smiles touched my lips at the sound of his name rolling off of my tongue. Even if I’d wanted to, there was no ounce of strength within any fiber of my being that would allow our eyes to part. He was the most beautiful thing, man, I’d ever had the honor of viewing. My heart hammered in my ribcage as his hand slid further along my jaw, trailing to the nape of my neck.

“There’s nothing I won’t do to fix this. To save you.”

Another thick tear rolled over my cheekbone.

“You can’t,” I murmured softly, my breath hitching in my chest. “There’s no saving me anymore.. This is all part of their plan. I’m.. I’m sorry you’ve been caught up in it. You have to go— save yourself.. They’ll assume you know too much.. They’ll turn on your kind again.”

It killed me to have to explain, to feel less than the mere human I used to be. Most of all, to attempt to let him go forever.

He shook his head, studying every curve and dip of my face as though he’d never seen another person before; as though he wanted to commit every piece of me to memory.

“If it has to end, I’d rather it be like this,” he stated. “At least I can try to help you.”

“You don’t always have to be so noble… You’ve done everything for the UNSC. For humanity. Think of yourself for once.”

“I am,” he began, his register low and gruff. “And I want you. No matter what that means.”

“They’re going to delete me, John,” I painfully reminded him.

His expression was hard, concealing more than I knew he’d ever let on to me.

“Not if I can help it.”

KP's 2022 SPN Year in Review

Soooo much happened in my life in 2022 (well from end 2021 though 2022 really). I am so grateful for the friends both online and off who helped me get through it all 💜. I found myself focusing more on art and editing than writing - but I am really excited to share my Pinefest fic with you all in February!

The #1 creation I'm most proud of this year was my Haze Amv, but I am also blown away by how much my Me and My Broken Heart Amv took off - ending the year with almost 20k views - which is in-sane. Setting and sticking to a regular upload schedule has been motivating and rewarding - I'm excited to post January's video on Thursday too :).

Participating as an artist in a couple of bangs for the first time had me stepping out of my comfort zone and drawing the best human being I've ever drawn to-date.

Aside from making things, I also co-modded the new SPN Bang Bang with my friends @doctorprofessorsong and @you-cant-spell-subtext-without, which went wonderfully well; I"m excited for this year's round!

Last but not least, being an editor and guest for @endofthebookpod has been amazing so far, and I'm excited for the rest of The Winchesters season!

updates [03/13/2023];

hello everyone!

apologies from the get go, for my silence. i know that this blog is pretty much run on a queue of various quotes / prompts / writing things / etc., and not even many people following... but to those that are here, following because you enjoy my work, i wanted to provide an update on what's going on with everything:

chasing down the gods ⇨

the update is much, much later than i had previously promised. this is due to some things that happened offline, and threw my mind [and - generally - everything] into a bit of chaos. it's been hard to find inspiration, so i was giving myself some breathing space. my hope and goal is to get the chapter done this week, since the following one is already completed. i had considered posting that, but i don't want to time-skip quite yet. i don't think it's fair to all of you who have stuck with me for... 8 years, if my math is semi correct. in the interim, i actually made this fun page for it [link also in the sidebar/drop down titled "check the page"]! my hope is to make one for every work i've posted / am working on [aka, WIPs and completed]. feel free to check it out! i hope you all like it [it's dark mode, and should be mobile friendly-ish].

now, speaking of WIPs...

untitled gd fic ⇨

if you check this blog's homepage much [i will not blame you if you don't], you will have noticed a new work was put under the right sidebar [dropdown menu on mobile]. this was titled "untitled gd fic," and i am happy to announce that i am ready to reveal some first insights! as with cdtg, a WIP page has been made. as much as I would love to share it, due to a title being... not there, the url is a bit choppy. so, to make it up a bit, here's a photo so you all can have a sneak preview:

this will be multichapter

this will be close to complete / mostly completed prior to uploading beginning

current ETA for uploads starting is may 2023 [forgoing more unforeseen life issues]

none of the bigger "archive warnings" for AO3 will apply [i.e. no non-con / major character death / etc.]* * only exception might be gore, but the plan is to not have extreme graphic details. think more criminal minds prior to it going to paramount+ and thus being able to show more.

when we are in april, my hope is to have the page itself available for everyone to check out. i am hoping to use these across the board

anything else ⇨

as said, these pages will be made for every fic. so, that includes mending bones and packed lunches and misplaced mistletoes. i will be putting links to these... somewhere. i have not gotten that far in my thought process. but, this allots a bit of time to actually work on things for this blog / towards my muse and writing inspiration, rather than just sitting and waiting.

one more thing [almost posted without mentioning this]: i will be linking to my main blog for a fic rec list. there, you'll find fics i've read and recommend for various fandoms. they were basically all wlw, but i don't know what else anyone would expect from me here. i will link both the mobile friendly edition, and the desktop version. i tend to prefer the desktop, but i know that tumblr mobile has become a lot more popular than when i first started here. i will note: i need to update it [has not been updated since... early february, i believe], but if you want something to read, check it out! my blog will also have a book rec page up eventually. that one takes a lot longer since that library is also expansive. if you want to go ahead and see recs now in the interim, here's the link to my blog's page with the direct links to said pages.

I can't find the forum thread, but here is the post that states that easy anti cheat only looks for hacks. When you start a new game session the Client will automatically load and install its latest version to your PC. By installing, copying, or otherwise using this Software Product, you give your consent that EasyAntiCheat may gather, store and publish Data for the sole purpose of the Purpose. The Data will be used solely for the Purpose including but not limited to identifying and banning players who are cheating in computer games, analyzing cheating behavior and cheating codes as well as sharing data about cheats with affiliates of EasyAntiCheat. The software isn't shady. The myths about it being spyware are exactly that, myths. There is nothing wrong doing this, it just causes a false alarm with your virus detection. Cheating was absolutely out of control before the implemented EAC. EAC is the best thing to happen to robocraft in my opinion. Anybody who played robocraft before EAC will surely agree with me. Before EAC people had speed hacks, auto aim, full automatic plasma and railguns that fired 10 times a second, placement hacks so they could put guns and electroplates 1 block from each other etc. Imagine trying to fight against a guy who is shooting railguns at you like they are a machinegun and he has 10 overlapping T10 electroplates all ontop of each other. Yep before Easyanticheater the cheaters were many. Here is a great experience I had with cheaters. Doesn't set off my kaspersky In case you missed it the first time I said it op. I am just trying to be helpful. The robocraft easyanticheat is perfectly safe and does nothing to your computer that is harmful. Or is this an MOV file created by your 'We recorded in garageband, then put it on iTunes and attached it to the animation as a mp3.' and if so, how did you 'attach' it to the file. Then open your file in QT X, check it, upload it to YouTube, and check the YouTube file to see if it now correctly contains all of your audio. Simply export your project from QT X (if that is what you are actually using to merge and upload content to YouTube) BEFORE uploading. There is, of course, an easy way to test this issue. Since you haven't really described what your sound problem is in any detail, I am only making a guess here based on your indication that YouTube is the target for your projects. This is probably the number one explanation of missing audio (or video) segments in YouTube uploads. And if you upload content with multiple audio tracks to YouTube without first flattening the data tracks, all non-primary tracks will be ignored. Basically, QT X doesn't "flatten" multiple audio (and/or multiple video) tracks until the data is exported or the merged files are save during the closing pf the QT X app. Therefore, if your Anime export file contains an audio track-even an empty one-and your Garageband output audio file contains one track of audio or the anime file contains no audio but the GarageBand export contains multiple audio tracks or your QT X merge contains multiple audio segments, you could have a problem using QT X to "mux" your GarageBand-Itunes audio. YouTube is notorious for mishandling uploads containing multiple audio tracks. It could be the fault of all four apps-Anime Studio Debut, GarageBand, QT X, and YouTube. This is very difficult to say since you have not really explained your entire workflow. Is it the anime software or are we doing something wrong with quicktime?

Since, I have Paint Tool Sai & Photoshop CS6 downloaded for free I'll be testing Silky Shark on both of them for you all to see for yourselves. I do believe Silky Shark is compatible with any free art program such as Paint Tool Sai, GIMP, Medibang, FireAlpaca, Adobe Flash 8 (for animation), & many other programs but, with little space left in my laptop storage I can only review very little.
