#how was he flirting while his daughter and Hayley were missing

Note
I don’t absolutely despise klaroline, although I definitely do not like them either, but one of the most stupid things in the entirety of the originals is Klaus flirting with Caroline while Hayley and hope is abducted. Would you consider this to be a writing mistake or just Klaus being Klaus? I’ve always wondered if he focused more on finding them if he’d of been able to save Hayley in time.
Tumblr media
I've made an entire tik tok about this because I despised this episode since the first time I saw it. I laid out all of the dumb decisions Klaus made in the episode in the tik tok as well as a lengthy caption. You can see that here.
Klaus in Season 5 is terribly written. He may not be my favorite character and I don't like klaroline but everything about him and them in Season 5 was wrong.
Starting with Rebekah calling Caroline to go find Klaus. That made no sense. Why wouldn't Freya or Marcel go find him. They are his family. Marcel has known him for 200 years. It's not like Rebekah thought he wouldn't harm her, he had nearly killed Caroline multiple times. Marcel was upgraded, he would have been the best choice to go and talk some sense into Klaus. Or Freya who could have gone and yelled at him for abandoning Hope.
Just the fact that Klaus was ignoring Hope for five years made no sense to me. I get he was terrified that she would hate him after what she saw, but the end of Season 3 and through Season 4, we began to see a version of Klaus that was actually putting Hope's needs first. This abandonment was a complete regression back to his Season 2 narcissism. Also, Hope not continuing to astral project to find him made no sense. She is a powerful witch, if Caroline could track him down, so could Hope.
Now onto the day of the event.
My biggest gripe is that they are literally driving everywhere. Klaus is the fastest being, why is he taking an SUV that can go max 180 mph? Why did they stop at a rest stop to get coffee? Exhaustion doesn't affect them that way. They are literally flirting and joking around as Hope and Hayley are missing. Sure at this point they may not have realized how serious it was, but Klaus would never have allowed himself to be distracted like that. It was bad writing purely for ratings.
Klaus would rip apart the world to save both Hayley and Hope. Showing him doing anything less is a disservice to his character.
Good writing, writing that is true to Klaus' character would have shown him turning into a wolf to track Hope down. Ansel tells Klaus in Season 2 that he was drawn to Klaus as a child and even to Hope because wolves are drawn to their family. It would have been so satisfying to finally watch Klaus at one with his wolf side in order to find Hope.
It also was so out of character to see Klaus walking slowly to the house. Hayley was actively having her wolf side suppressed and fighting Greta. Klaus would have heard this from miles away and sped as fast as possible to the house. Instead we see him walking at a slow human speed. Caroline is also easily snuck up on by Elijah and Klaus doesn't immediately snap his neck? True-to-character Klaus would have ripped out Elijah's heart to save Hope and Hayley. After all, Elijah would have been fine.
Very little of Season 5 was not just poor writing. There were scenes and plot points that directly contradict established canon. The reason the writing was so bad is because the writers were killing Hayley, Elijah, and Klaus off no matter what. Hayley's death was 1000% preventable. Hayley was a hybrid and a member of the strongest family but was somehow killed by a 100 year old vamp? Say what you will about Klaus, but Klaus definitely would have saved her no matter what. She never should have died but Julie wanted Legacies to have an orphaned Hope and didn't care to make the writing good.
Shameless plug: If you want to read how I would rewrite Season 5 to make more sense, check out my story, Don't It Just Break Your Heart, on AO3 and Wattpad.

The moon is a loyal companion. It never leaves. It’s always there, watching, steadfast, knowing us in our light and dark moments, changing forever just as we do. Every day it’s a different version of itself. Sometimes weak and wan, sometimes strong and full of light. The moon understands what it means to be human. Uncertain. Alone. Cratered by imperfections. She imagined loving him would feel like falling in love with darkness, frightening and consuming yet utterly beautiful when the stars came out. Every good story needs a villain. But the best villains are the ones you secretly like. Every good story needs a villain. But the best villains are the ones you secretly like. Gold shimmered no matter what, but few people could make darkness glitter the way he did. Dreams that come true can be beautiful, but they can also turn into nightmares when people won't wake up. Her heart was still a little heavy, but she'd decided carrying it around would only maker her stronger.  He smelled of magic and heartbreak, and something about the combination made her think that despite what he claimed, he wanted to be her hero. Fear was a poison that people mistook as protection. Making choices to stay safe could be just as treacherous. The auburn haired daughter of the earth’s greatest villain used to be scared of it, but now looking at this flirtatious boy thinks love is another type of magic. It makes everything brighter, it makes people who have it stronger, it breaks rules that aren't supposed to exist, it's infinitely valuable. The fear came from the death of her mother who as a queen should have been the same amount of safe as these two flirting immortals.  Hayley, the queen of the new orlean werewolves, disappeared like a broken star, leaving the world untouched in the ashes of her form , save for the bits of missing light that no one would ever see again. She loved the feeling of doing something bold enough to make her future hold its breath. Hope had been the one to make her mother a vampire along with being a werewolf after her birth. Klaus and his heir now the only mixture of creatures. while she closed her eyes and reveled in the sensation that she’d made a choice with the power to alter the course of her life when her position and the legacy of her father put it other wise. She remembered her first impression of him, tall, roughly handsome, and dangerous, like poison dressed up in an attractive bottle. He looked like a freshly woken storm, or a beautiful nightmare come to life so he could personally haunt her. They had been practicing dancing at the moment. Hope wearing one of her more expensive sweaters and plaid skirt in leui of the blue tulle the 21 year old had for the night. It was a wonder her father hadn’t worn his spine as necklace when they were so clearly smitten.  The air was full of salt and secrets. They had spent a long time together and she found herself liking the demon prince’s soul which was a conudrum she had been surprised that she had to say. She wanted to be the friend he fell hopelessly in love with. The one he took into his arms and into his bed and into the private world he kept trapped in his head. She wanted to be that kind of friend. The one who will memorize the things he said as well as the shape of his lips when he says them. He wanted to know every curve, every freckle, every shiver of his body. She wanted to know where to touch him, She wanted to know how to touch him. She wanted to know how to convince him to design a smile just for her.  And they are quotation marks, inverted and upside down, clinging to one another at the end of this life sentence. Trapped by lives they did not choose. “I think this is the first time I have seen you act princely, love. I’m not sure if it makes me want to give you that kiss you asked for or step on your feet which I have grown up absolutely finding such a thing a sin. I had hoped that I would win that bet of ours. I mean you have been comfortable with me doing magic and more. art is my wheelhouse. We will see if you clean up nicely.”

Relapse
Niklaus Mikaelson x reader
Fandom: the originals
Word count: 1616
Prompt: you relapse with your anorexia and hide it from klaus. He finds your behaviour strange until your best friend, Hayley, mentions that you had the same behaviour back when you had the disorder.
Warnings: ⚠️eating disorders! Self harm! Suicide! Swearing!⚠️
A/N: I know this is a sensitive topic but I do unfortunately deal with some of these struggles and I decided to write something around it but give it a happy ending because we all love happy, fluffy endings.❤️
Tumblr media
3 years. 3 happy years with klaus. Those years had been the best years of your entire life. This man was now your entire life. You met him through Hayley, your best friend, when she got pregnant back in mystic falls. You and her had been childhood friends from back in middle school. So when she got pulled into the Mikaelson family drama, so did you.
During high school, there were a few problems with your mental health. Everyday felt so gray. All this pain build up inside and you took it out on yourself. It started with a couple cuts a week, to masses a night. Your reflection in the mirror made you want to through yourself off the nearest cliff. One minute you were eating a bit healthier to completely missing out on meals. It got to the point you only ate a few meals a week.
All this anger and sadness built up so much that in your second year of college, you had attempted to take your own life.
6 years ago......
Tears streamed down your face as you rushed to your appartment. Hayley has told you she was going to be out for a while during the afternoon but what you didn’t know is that she didn’t go ahead with those plans.
Hayley sat in her room to the shared appartment as you hurriedly locked the door. You couldn’t stop the flow of water droplets from your eyes. This had been your last straw. Some girl at your college made a snarky comment about how you weren’t very skinny and pretty had led you to come to the conclusion to end it. End the pain, the torment of life. No time to say your goodbyes, you just had to get it over with.
Swiftly you made your way to the bathroom. As soon as you shut the door you grabbed your razor from the side of the bathtub. There was no point in locking the door as someone had to find your body, you just hated the fact that you knew it was going to be Hayley who finds your lifeless body.
Turning the tap on in the bath, you take the blade out of the razor. Not caring for your clothes you keep them on while you turn the tap off and step into the cold water. Sitting in the water you try to stifle your sobs, horribly failing. The tears kept falling and falling as you raised the rusted blade to your wrist.
Hayley sat peacefully in her room scrolling through her phone when she heard muffled sobs coming from the bathroom. The sound alerted her as well as the bath running. She found it odd as it was 3 in the afternoon and that you were crying. Her curiosity got the best of her as she exited the room and headed toward the room the were currently in.
You hadn’t heard shuffling from outside over your hushed cries. This was it. This was when the pain was finally going to end. Slowly you landed the sharp object onto your wrist and added pressure, gliding it along your arm over recent cuts before. It hurt like a bitch. God it stung.
“Isn’t it a bit early to be having a bath Y/N?” Hayley joked, well tried, she was worried as she could hear your sniffles.
“Y/N?”
Shit! Hayley was home! You panicked, anxiety flooding your body. You had to finish, you’d come to far to stop now. Trembling, you lifted the blade into your other hand. It was hard to keep still as blood oozed out of your wrist. Once again, you raised the blade to carve the other arm. Just before you could, the bathroom door swun open with a worried Hayley standing there mesmerised by the sight.
“Please, Y/N! NO! Stop!” She screamed, running towards you. With all her might, Hayley wrapped her arms around your upper body to grab your attention. “Please don’t.” Her voice croaked with desperation, shattering your heart. You dropped the blade before doing anymore damage towards yourself.
Hayley reached at her phone in her back pocket to call an ambulance. Once the phone conversation finished, you both cried in each other’s arms waiting for the paramedics to arrive.
Present........
After that incident Hayley found out about your anorexia and you opened up about a lot. 3 years later she got knocked up by the famous Klaus Mikaelson while the two of you took a trip to mystic falls so she could see Tyler Lockwood. So because of her reckless actions, you both moved to the city of New Orleans, where you fell in love with the big bad hybrid.
When you first had moved to New Orleans you had started to fall back into old eating habits due to the stress of moving. It lasted a few months and you lost a lot of weight. You didn’t want to mention anything to Hayley as she was getting kidnapped left to right, but she did notice the drop in weight and helped you out of it. If it wasn’t for Hayley you wouldn’t have made it this long.
He didn’t know about your past, the reason, you didn’t want him to pity you. You didn’t want to accept the fact that you had a problem and that it still creeps back sometimes. It took some time but Hayley promised to keep your secret.
During Hayley’s pregnancy, you and klaus had a connection, flirting back and forth. After Hope’s birth, he asked you on a date and it started from there. Your love for him has only grown more and more during the years.
It had been just over 3 years of you and Klaus dating. He had your heart and you had his. Hayley has keepen her promise by not mentioning it to anyone. Well for the moment, she had.
The urge to cut or to miss meals had disappeared these past few years, until the trigger. You were just walking through the quarter, alone, when a boy around 19-20 called out to you. He called you a fatty. That’s when realisation hit, you’d let yourself go. Once again, your head came flooding back with the thoughts.
All you could do was run. So you did. You ran and ran until you couldn’t feel your feet. Tears stroked drown your cheeks as you moved through the streets. You didn’t even know where you were running, you just had to go.
It felt like eternity had passed by the time you made it to the compound. Sniffling, you wiped the tears away with your sleeves. Luckily no one was home. The sky had turned dark, so you assumed everyone was out either killing people, or at Rousseau’s.
Unconsciously, you found yourself in the bathroom, making you way towards where you had your razor. You took the blade out, shaking.
That night you cut. For the first time in what felt like forever, you cut everywhere you could. Arms. Legs. Stomach. Anywhere you could, you did. Now you just had to hide it.
2 days later........
No one really noticed, well that’s what you thought. Klaus thought you were acting odd but didn’t comment on it.
Every meal you could skip, you did. Whenever everyone went out you cut, or you went out to do it.
You were in the kitchen playing with hope when Klaus came in. “Hi Hope, Y/N.” He smiled as he walked over and picked Hope up in his arms. “Do you want me to make you lunch?” Klaus turned to ask you. “No, thankyou.” You walk out of the kitchen, leaving him confused.
Hayley huffed, “No, she can’t be.” She muttered to herself. Klaus picked up on this and turned around to the brunette who was making Hope food. “What are you on about?” His voice concerned as he let his daughter stand.
“Hope, can you go and play with someone while I talk to your father.” Hayley told the little girl as she hopped out of the kitchen. That’s were Hayley told Klaus all you history and how she had just picked up on that you’d fallen back to those problems.
You’d been laying on your bed for about 10 minutes when Klaus stormed in with tears in his eyes. He rushed to you and sat on the bed infront of you.
“Please, love. Show me the cuts.” His voice cracked and a tear rolled down his cheek. As his words made sense in your head, water pooled your eyes and you stood from the bed.
“Hayley said, didn’t she?” You whispered. He nodded and repeated his words. “Please, show me.” He pleaded, more tears flowing. You reached to pull your top up and took off your sweats, leaving you stood in your bra and underwear.
Klaus’ eyes scanned over the scars. After a few minutes of silence as he studied, he wrapped his arms around you, letting you cry into his shoulder. “I love you, please stop, I love you too much to watch you harm yourself.” His voice was wobbly as he held you. Your dainty arms found their way to his waist as you shook. “Ok.” You breathed through your sobs.
That’s why you loved the hybrid, he was there to love you. Even through all his rage and scariness, he had a soft spot for you, and could be super sweet.
That night he promised himself that no one, not even you, could harm you. He would always protect you. He wouldn’t let you destroy yourself. He will love you when you can’t love yourself. You will be happy, that he will make sure of.

Rebekah stood outside of the compound in New Orleans having just arrived after a two year imprisonment in a ghost town eager to return to her family but resistant due to the fact she was six months pregnant give or take, she judged her pregnancy on how she looked but due to the fact she was both dead and had been for a thousand years she had never been pregnant before so wasn’t exactly the best judge.
After standing for what seemed like forever just when she was about to walk into the compound Marcel vamp sped in front of her leaving them both shocked to see each other especially because no-one knew she was no longer in the ghost town or that she had miraculously found herself pregnant.
“Well that’s definitely new,” Marcel said while shocked to see his former love pregnant struggling to get his head around the idea. “How is this even possible?”
“As it turns out no magic means I’m not only mortal but highly fertile.” Rebekah replied while holding her stomach. “Trust me when I say I have no bloody clue how all this is possible. I was hoping Klaus could get Hope to do some spell and if that didn’t work well then, I’d go see Freya. Freya her baby must be…”
“Babies she had twins which she called Elijah and Nik believe it or not I guess Kol wouldn’t have been too happy about that baby news.” Marcel replied. “Klaus isn’t here last time I checked he was in Mystic Falls trying to convince Caroline’s twins to help break you out.”
“Well needless to say his efforts were bloody useless.” Rebekah responded with a sigh.
“So, am I allowed to ask who’s the dad? I mean if the baby has a dad?” Marcel quizzed her.
“No, you bloody well can’t!” Rebekah snapped. “Please tell me Hayley’s still running things around here.”
“It’s more of a team effort but I’ll allow that little remark considering your bound to be pissed off right now.” Marcel replied. “How about I take you to her and catch you up along the way.”
“Thank you,” Rebekah said with a sigh. “Wait why isn’t she inside?”

Hayley Marshall’s life had grown even busier over the last two years finding most of her time being spent in the bayou with the wolves although most of them had moved into the city the bayou was still their home and so the werewolves would run freely in the bayou whenever they felt the need and held any meeting werewolf related there.
Hayley tried to be there for Hope as much as possible managing to attend all parent/teacher meetings at Salvatore Boarding School as well as taking every opportunity to have her daughter home in New Orleans but she could only do so much and found herself missing a certain sweet sixteenth in the process which made her feel guilty even though the sixteenth party wasn’t even Hope’s.
Elijah Mikaelson had finally got the girl but found their relationship difficult with Hayley’s schedule being so busy he was the Mikaelson representative at faction meetings but considering he was the only Mikaelson who resided with New Orleans permanently and the city was rather peaceful because of it.
Although at times he struggled to adjust to Hayley’s busy life he never resented it or her in fact he was proud of the queen she had become and decided it was time to be his queen’s king.
“Okay why have you taken me out to the middle of nowhere?” asked a blindfolded Hayley after being vamp sped outside the gates of the newly rebuilt Mikaelson home from season one before taking her blind fold off to be left confused. “I didn’t know anyone was working on rebuilding this place.”
“It’s where the first chapter in our story began and it’s where I’d like to turn to the next chapter.” Elijah told her before kneeling and revealing a beautiful diamond ring in an equally exquisite ring box. “You have your kingdom and now I want you to have your home. I want us to live here happily and I want us to live here as husband and wife.”
“Elijah, yes, of course, yes.” Hayley cheered before Elijah picked her up in his arms and kissed her passionately.
Tumblr media
“Okay now it makes sense where your driving me too now.” Rebekah said to Marcel with a sigh while continuing to hold on to her pregnant stomach as she sat in the passenger seat of Marcel’s car as Marcel was behind the wheel driving them to Hayley and Elijah’s home. “So is she officially a Mikaelson now or did they think of waiting for their beloved sister before I missed yet another wedding.”
“They married the next day something small and simple which I guess was perfect for them.” Marcel laughed.
“If Klaus still has some daggers lying about, I swear I will not be held responsible for my actions.” Rebekah snapped. “Anyone else get hitched while I was gone? Clearly I’ve not been as missed as I should’ve been.”
Freya and Keelin: Previously on The Originals
Freya Mikaelson and Keelin Malraux woke up in bed together in their home in Mystic Falls like they had done many times over the last two years both ecstatic to see each other’s faces like they were every morning for the last two years.
“You’re looking especially beautiful this morning future Mrs Mikaelson.” Freya said to her fiancé with an innocent smile.
“I’m fairly certain when an engagement is put on hiatus the correct term for me is potential Mrs Mikaelson.” Keelin replied with a sarcastic tone. “Although as excuses go waiting for your sister to break out of a mysterious vanishing ghost town is pretty up there.”
“I told you I just don’t feel right getting married without her it’s bad enough she couldn’t make Davina and Kol’s weddings are kind of a big deal to her.” Freya replied with a laugh before pulling in her fiancé for a kiss only to hear the babies beginning to cry in the other room.
“My money’s on Nik.” Keelin guessed.
“I’ll take Elijah you take Nik.” Freya smiled.
Freya and Keelin pulled themselves out of bed just like they had done many times over the last two years and made their way into their twin boys’ rooms ready to see out another day of non-marital parents to twin firstborn Mikaelson witches bliss or as close to it as one could get with the next generation of Mikaelson brothers ready to create all kinds of chaos.
Tumblr media
“Well at least one sibling thought about me when it came to wedding planning although I must admit young baby versions of Niklaus, and Elijah truly terrify me.” Rebekah said to Marcel as his car pulled up to the gates of Hayley and Elijah’s home.
“There is one particular Mikaelson who should probably be notified now about your unexpected return.” Marcel revealed to her. “The one whose spent the last two years doing nothing but looking for you.”
Klaus and Caroline: Previously on The Originals
Klaus Mikaelson awoke to find himself in a cage within the dungeon underneath the Salvatore Boarding School only to stand up and see Sebastian stood in the cage next to him.
“I’m guessing you’re another one of these witches catches.” Sebastian said to him.
“Yeah unlike you I don’t intend on staying very long.” Klaus replied before marching towards the cage door only to stop when Caroline Forbes vamp sped in front of the gate.
“Really Klaus? You come all the way here pretending to want to see Davina and Hope when really you wanted my girls for some crazy ass spell and didn’t even think to run it past me.” Caroline snapped at him. “I thought we were passed playing tricks on each other.”
“In my defense Caroline you were always better with the tricks than me.” Klaus replied with a smirk always glad to see Caroline even if she was holding him prisoner. “I lost counts of the times you played beautiful distraction to me but trust me I’d happily be distracted by you any time.”
“You can’t just show up here flirt with me, scheme against me and flirt with me some more I’m not that girl anymore.” Caroline snapped.
“I sense some romantic troubles between use.” Sebastian smirked only to be told to “shut up” in unison by both Caroline and Klaus.
“I’m sorry I wanted to speak to my daughter before asking you and trust me when I say Caroline, I wouldn’t have done anything without your permission.” Klaus said sincerely making Caroline smile at him.
“Well you don’t have my permission,” She replied while unlocking the door. “But I do happen to know a heretic who also once belonged to the Gemini Coven in fact I was planning to seek her out myself if you fancy coming along for the journey?”
“You and I alone together.” Klaus said with a sinister smirk while walking out of his cage. “Are you sure you can trust yourself?”
“I’m sure I’ll manage just fine.” Caroline laughed.
Tumblr media
“I wish those two would just get together already their will they won’t they thing they’ve got going on feels like it’s been going longer than my existence as an original.” Rebekah said as Marcel opened her door and she got out of the car.
“Speaking of which are you still immortal?” Marcel asked her as they began walking down the driveway.
“Yes, I’m still a vampire now just a pregnant one which normally would be much weirder but thankfully my family have a Tribrid and twins to contend with.” Rebekah revealed to him before Elijah vamp sped over to them until he was standing in front of his sister.
“Rebekah,” Elijah said instantly hugging his sister before feeling the bump and backing away. “What on earth happened to you?”
“It’s called pregnancy Elijah!” Rebekah snapped at her brother. “Now why the hell couldn’t you and Hayley wait for your darling sister to be free from Hell Town before getting hitched?”
“In his defense it was my idea for a simple and quick wedding.” Hayley said after vamp speeding over to be next to her husband and in front of her sister-in-law. “I thought a lavish wedding would hardly be fitting without you there planning it.”
“See now that’s an answer I can get around.” Rebekah smirked before hugging Hayley. “You were my sister long before you married my brother and if you ever choose to leave the tight laced know it all you will remain my sister, Always and Forever.”
“You too,” Hayley replied before looking down at Rebekah’s bump with shock. “You’re going to need to tell me how the hell that happened.”
“Yes, all in good time,” Rebekah replied with an eye roll. “Now where’s Hope?”
Hope and Josie: Previously on The Originals
Josie Saltzman found herself looking in the mirror while wearing a beautiful red ball gown with her brown hair tied back in a beautiful yet simple style as she prepared for her sweet sixteenth birthday party before she heard a knock at the door only to turn around and see Hope Mikaelson once again standing in her doorway.
“Lizzie’s going to be super pissed because she looks nowhere near as good as you do in that dress.” Hope said to Josie while in awe of her beauty.
“You know Lizzie’s currently convincing my dad and mum as we speak to release that vampire in our dungeon just so she can have a date for her birthday.” Josie revealed to Hope.
“I don’t Caroline’s going to let Lizzie use my dad as her date considering their previous history.” Hope joked as she walked into the room.
“Oh no I meant the other guy,” Josie sighed. “It’s been a long sixteenth.”
“I knew what you meant Josie.” Hope said while moving closer towards Josie making Josie nervous as she drew closer. “Happy birthday Josie!”
Hope pulled Josie in for a passionate kiss as Josie kissed her back the two of them sharing a moment together that they had both been wanting for too long and now that moment had finally come.
“Was that my birthday present?” Josie asked her.
“I love you,” Hope laughed “always have always were I guess I was just as chicken as you.”
“I love you too!” Josie replied before kissing Hope again.
Tumblr media
“So, Hope got herself Caroline’s daughter before her own father could get Caroline.” Rebekah smirked while placing herself on the couch in Hayley and Elijah’s living room while Marcel, Hayley and Elijah stood above her. “I can’t wait to rub it in my brother’s face speaking of which where is he currently?”
“Last I heard Klaus and Caroline were in Croatia,” Hayley answered before looking at Marcel and Elijah hoping for them to speak only to realize it was up to her. “Okay Rebekah you’re going to need to tell us how the hell you got pregnant.”
“I slept with a Malus witch when mortal and now I’m knocked up with his baby!” Rebekah snapped. “Before anyone even dares judge me, I’d look at your own previous bedfellows first and don’t get me started on any birth control lectures considering I’m bloody dead.”
“Klaus said you were locked in there with Nathaniel and his father,” Elijah said cautious to ask while Marcel and Hayley stayed in silence. “So, is the baby Nathaniel’s child or sibling?”
“Sibling of course I’m hardly going to sleep with one of my oldest friends.” Rebekah responded to Klaus.
“But his father is fair game.” Hayley joked much to Rebekah’s fury.
“Just like marrying the brother of your daughter’s father.” Rebekah replied with a cheeky smirk.
“Or sleeping with your brother’s adoptive son.” Hayley said back with a sly smile of her own.
“Fair play Hayley Marshall-Mikaelson.” Rebekah smirked. “Now what the bloody hell happened to Bonnie Bennet in my absence is she still cheating death and bossing the New Orleans witches about.”
Bonnie and Henrik: Previously on The Originals
Henrik woke up on the cold hard ground of Lafayette Cemetery only to find a smug looking Bonnie hovering above him. He quickly rose to his feet as a large group of witches appeared from behind tombs chanting in Croatian as he noticed he was tripped in a devil’s trap judging by the markings on the ground around him in a circle.
“I recognize you we’ve met before, haven’t we?” He asked Bonnie.
“Yeah your sister Rebekah and I help you escape the ancestral plane.” Bonnie revealed. “And now I’m going to help you become somewhat less of a monster.”
“What the hell are you talking about?” Henrik quizzed, confused by Bonnie’s words.
“Apparently Nathaniel was planning on turning you into an original and it just so happens I’m down for that idea.” Bonnie revealed.
“You want to make me even more powerful,” Henrik laughed at her. “Because killing you all is going to be easy as it is especially now Nathaniel isn’t trying to stop me but please go ahead and make me even more powerful.”
“Actually, the spell’s been altered to use the Malus inside you as the source of magic for the spell,” Bonnie admitted as she raised her hand and magically made Henrik fall to his knees. “I’m going to use up all your Malus to turn you into an original and as for the magic you get from your mother well that kind of magic becomes dormant when you’re turned into a vampire.”
“You cunning little bitch,” Henrik snapped at her as Bonnie joined the other witches chanting in Croatian causing Henrik to let out a series of screams before passing out.
Tumblr media
Marcel walked out of Hayley and Elijah’s home and onto the porch when suddenly a heavily pregnant Rebekah vamp sped from out of the door and in Marcel’s path, so she was standing in front of him.
“You never told me what you’ve been up to over the last two years,” She told him while looking down at Marcel’s left hand smiling after noticing his wedding ring. “Judging by that it’s quite the story.”
“Rebekah…” Marcel replied reluctantly.
“I’m literally standing in front of you pregnant with another man’s child I think you can tell me about your wife, and I won’t get bloody jealous.” Rebekah responded. “My love for you was an epic sordid affair but when it ended it did end. I still love you Marcellus but not in the way I used to so please tell me all about yet another wedding where nobody waiting for me.”
“I don’t have a wife, but I do have a husband and it’s Josh.” Marcel admitted.
“Well good for him,” Rebekah said with a sincere smile “I was beginning to think he’d never find another man. In fact, there was a time I didn’t even think he’d survive the month after being turned clearly he’s come a long way.”
“Thanks Rebekah it means a lot that you’re happy for me.” Marcel told her. “I’m happy for you if anyone was born to be a mother it was you, I don’t care how messed it is that your pregnant I’m just delighted you get to be a mother.”
“Thank you, Marcel,” Rebekah said softly clearly touched by Marcel’s words. “So how did Josh romance you down the altar.
“Actually, it was me who romanced him down the altar.” Marcel laughed.
Marcel and Josh: Previously on The Originals
Josh was busy putting chairs up on tables as he cleaned up his bar Rousseau's in New Orleans before Marcel vamp sped into the room grabbing him instantly and pushing him against the counter as the pair began passionately kissing.
“Okay we really need to stop soon before a certain original ex of yours finds out and I’m a goner,” Josh said nervously as Marcel began kissing his neck. “I mean it we should really put an end to this if not for my own survival.”
“Are you wanting this to end?” Marcel asked looking hurt at the idea of their romance coming to an end.
“Well no not really but if we don’t stop now, I’m either going to wind up dead or heartbroken and I’d rather be neither.” Josh admitted.
“Heartbroken, are you admitting feelings for me Josh?” Marcel quizzed with a sinister smile.
“I’m admitting nothing except my need to stay alive.” He said while pushing himself off Marcel.
“I’d never allow anything to happen to you Josh.” Marcel told him as he pulled him back into his arms. “This may have started out as fun, but it’s become so much more.”
“What are you saying?” Josh asked, hopeful of the answer.
“I’m saying I’m in love with you Josh can’t you read between the lines.” Marcel laughed before kissing Josh once more.
“Don’t just say that to win me over.” Josh sighed.
“Josh you have been my best friend long before you were my lover,” Marcel declared to him while placing his hand on Josh’s cheek and looking at the man with pure adoration in his eyes. “I can’t imagine my life without you and I never want to when I say I love you it’s because I love you with all my heart not because I want to get into your pants although that’s definitely a bonus.”
“Who knew you were the romantic,” Josh laughed before kissing Marcel. “I love you too.”
Tumblr media
“That sounds very sweet I swear I just got toothache from listening to that bloody story, but you missed the part when you got married.” Rebekah replied to Marcel as she and Marcel walk down the driveway heading away from Elijah and Hayley’s home. “I’m guessing that was the proposal of sorts.”
“Actually, that wasn’t one of my proposals it took me about six before Josh was sure I was serious.” Marcel admitted. “He wanted to make sure I’d never hurt him usually that could put a guy off but it just made me love him more to know he wanted me to be fully ready for him before he would say yes.”
“It figures you always did like some good old-fashioned rejection well played Josh.” Rebekah joked. “So, when did the wedding take place?”
“Not long after the sixth proposal,” Marcel smiled. “He had the whole day planned.”
“Oh, bloody hell,” Rebekah shouted as she felt a sharp pain in her stomach. “No this can’t be bloody right!”
“What’s wrong?” asked a worried Marcel.
“This bloody thing that has possessed my womb seems to be wanting to come out now.” Rebekah revealed.

The return
I was inspired by the sneak peek of the originals 5x02 where Roman shows up outside of Hope’s bedroom.
For @caritobear, @austennerdita2533 love these girls they are my sisters.
Xxx
“ Roman it’s good to see you and I’m surprised you came all the way from Mystic Falls to New Orleans to see me but you need to leave now.”
Sixteen year old Hope Mikaelson grabs sixteen year old dirty blonde Roman’s hand trying to escort him out of of the house before there trouble. Roman is a vampire and came to New Orleans to talk with hope and is not leaving until he talks with her. “ I’m not leaving, I want to talk with you.”
“ Fine we can we talk but we can’t talk in the house and especially can’t talk in my room.”
He follows Hope downstairs to the front door. “ Hope what’s wrong why can’t we talk in the house.”
Hope takes a breath she really didn’t want to tell him this secret but he won’t leave and at any moment he could find out she leads him into the living room. “ Have you been hearing rumors of a hybrid named klaus has gone completely mad and has went on a killing spree throughout Europe but mostly in France.”
“ Yeah.”
“ Well he’s my father, my name is not Hope Marshall its Hope Mikaelson.”
Roman eyes widen in surprise and he has to sit down, even though Roman is a young vampire he’s heard of the Mikaelsons. He came to New Orleans to ask Hope why it said her last name was Mikaelson but she goes by Marshall when he snuck into Alaric Saltzman’s desk to drink his bourbon he saw Hope’s parent contacts and found the address and came to find her.
“ You thought it was impressive that I got suspended you don’t even know the half of my crazy life. I haven’t spoken to my dad in five years haven’t seen him in seven, my mom shipped me off to Salvatore school so she could be alpha and have a boyfriend without having the responsibilities of being a parent. I have aunts and uncles spread out all over the world and one of my uncles had his mind erased by my aunts boyfriend so he doesn’t remember me or any of his siblings. I couldn’t go to my other uncles wedding because according to my mom it would of been to dangerous. When I was nine I did a spell to Astro protect myself to my dad to say hi and I found him ripping the heart out a woman then he screamed at me to get out.”
Roman to shocked to speak but luckily that didn’t stop the shouting coming from the hall “ Hope where are you?”
Hope looks out into the hallway then at Roman “ Please stay here, I’ll be right back.”
“ Is that your dad?”
“Yes and I don’t want you to get killed please stay here.”
Roman walks over to her and places his hands under her wrists tenderly “ I care about you too.”
Hope shyly smiles down. “ Oh I um-” before Hope can finish the sentence Klaus walks in and see a teenage boy touching his daughter. The protective alpha wolf gene in him perks up and he has Roman pinned to the doorframe by his throat in seconds.
“Dad.” Hope uses her magic and flings Klaus off Roman.
Hope goes over to help Roman up and they both look over at Klaus who is being helped up by the co head of their school Caroline Forbes. Who came with him to make sure Klaus didn’t leave a trail of bodies from France to New Orleans.
“ Miss. Forbes?”
Caroline smiles at them “ Hello, Roman your supposed to be in school and Hope I’ve been told your suspension I’ll look in to it, I know of the family issue so we will get you back in Mystic Falls in no time I’m sorry it has to be this.”
“ You know of the issue and you know my dad?”
Caroline and Klaus smile at each other Caroline breaks their eye contact by responding to Hope. “ Yes we’ve known each other for twenty years, and when your mom enrolled you I asked about your dad and your mom informed me of the situation.”
“ And I’ve loved every minute you’ve been in my life love.”
“ It’s taken me many years to realize I’ve loved having you in my life too.”
Hope and Roman are watching them and are surprised and a little disturbed. Roman leans over and whispers in Hope’s ear. “ This is weird, I don’t think I’ve ever seen Miss Forbes smile.”
Hope whispers back “ This is weird I haven’t seen my dad in seven years and he returns with the co head of our school and they are flirting. I didn’t even know they knew each other. You’ve never seen her smile because your always getting in trouble.”
Roman smirks at her and Hope ask’s “ How did you meet my dad?”
Caroline glances at Klaus who gives her a look saying I don’t want her to know the real truth of me. “ I was a young vampire and Klaus came to Mystic Falls he needed my best friends help solving a problem. After he solved his problem he stayed in the town and developed feelings for some of the people in town and attending town functions. Soon after all the Mikaelsons were in Mystic Falls, they made my life and the Salvatore’s which the school was name after lives Interesting.”
Neither Hope nor Roman knew there were actually Salvatore’s that their school was named after. “ There were actual Salvatore’s, what was the school before it was a school?”
“ It was a home it belonged to the Salvatore brother, Caroline and Rebekah lived there too, I was a frequent visitor, Elijah dropped in a couple times.”
Caroline looks down at her watch “ I’m going to have to get a hotel room to stay in and leave tomorrow. Roman I’ll drive you back to school.”
“ Miss Forbes I drove here.”
“ Tomorrow your following me back to school.”
Klaus looks down at the woman who captivated his heart all those years ago and has held it in the palm of her hand. “ You don’t have to stay in a hotel you can stay here.”
Caroline glances up at him and see the flirty look in his eyes.“ I’m not sleeping in your room.”
“Only if you want to love, I was not suggesting that but I love that’s where your mind went first.”
Xxx
Roman turns to Hope after her dad and Caroline leave, she is in shock. “ Are you ok?”
“ No, I thought I knew my family, I know they have millions of secrets but I thought I knew some but I had no clue that not only did Miss. Forbes knew my dad or or my aunts and uncles. I have been going to the Salvatore school since I was seven and she never let on that she knew anyone else but my mom. Plus my aunt lived in our school and we a home in Mystic Falls I never knew about.”
“ When we get back to Mystic Falls we’ll find your families house. It could be our get away from school.”
Hope smiles at him she’s happy he hasn’t run from all the Information he has gotten today.
Xxx
As Klaus is guiding Caroline up the stairs to her room they go past the parlor and Caroline stops at the door frame.“ Ah Klaus come back here.”
Klaus who was halfway up the stairs turns back and sees what Caroline was looking at Which is Aurora who is dead under a sheet. “ What or should I say who is that?”
“ I’d rather not say.”
Caroline looks up at him and he’s not making eye contact with her or even looking at her. “ Klaus its me I made/helped you clean up your slaughter in France, I dug pliers in your back when Silas made you think there was white oak heading to your heart. I’m not going to judge you, plus this will bother me if you don’t tell me.”
“ My crazy ex from a thousand years ago she’s dead and under a sleeping spell we just don’t know what to do with her.”
“I’ve known this family for twenty years and your still surprising me.”
Klaus laughs and grabs her hand and pulls her away from the parlor “ Your life is never dull with us love.”
“ No it is not.”
Klaus brings her to her room for the night it’s a normal looking room theirs a bed, a nightstand and a dresser. “ Did you really ask Hayley about me when she enrolled Hope.”
“ Yes I thought you would enroll her but Hayley said you had to leave because of the hollow and a couple days later I got your check.”
While Caroline looking around the room Klaus is watching her. “ I never stopped you know.”
Caroline glances up at him from the bed “ I know I could see it on your face in France, I married Stefan to draw out Katherine I said yes to his proposal because he said he loved me. I knew he always loved Elena and even though he said he loved me I knew it wasn’t with his whole heart. I know you love me and have since you gave me blood on my birthday but I was scared I’m not anymore. We both have kids and you have part of a extremely evil person living in you but I’m done avoiding it. I was in France not just to talk with the Delacruz family I could of sent Alaric to talk with them but I didn’t. I went knowing you were there, when Rebekah called me I was happy to track you down.”
Klaus vamps up to her and wraps his arms around her waist picking her up. “ You don’t know how long I’ve waited to hear that love.”
She wraps her arms around his neck “ This room is nice but I do want to sleep in your room. After all one day it will be ours.”

WANTED! FC can be changed!
♠ Martha Hanover is 28 years old and is often confused with Hayley Atwell. She is Open.
“If I’d known it was going to be like this, I would have stayed in London.”
→ Background
Martha was born and raised in Baberton along with her sister, Veronica. Like most people who live in this town are. She was a dreamer right from a young age, always off thinking up some story, “away with the fairies” as people used to say. Martha was very easily distracted, sometimes didn’t have a good handle on reality, and had a habit of romanticising things very easily. She was always in trouble at school for being unable to concentrate but she was the kind of girl who would much rather be writing, creating her own little world, or locked away in a novel… or out exploring through the woods. A lot of people thought she was odd but Martha did her best not to let it get to her. She had enough people who loved her, who accepted her shortcomings, her wildness. There was a little part of Martha that she never really showed though, it would be a little too much for people. There was always something a little… off, somewhere up in her head. It was easily missed by people, and it wasn’t something she’d ever be able to explain but Martha had a bit of an obsessive personality and she didn’t seem to think or feel the same way other people did. Everything was different for her. More intense, more vivid, whatever. Martha was always different.
It was all the trouble she got into at school that flagged her up with Robert Henderson, the deputy headteacher, when she was seventeen. She fell for him right away, flirting shamelessly, though he didn’t cave until she was eighteen. Not that that made it any better of course, the sneaking around, but Martha found it exciting. More than that, she found it addicting. She found him addicting and, soon enough, she’d fallen in love with him. Safe to say that Martha was heartbroken when Robert called the whole thing off one day, out of the blue. She didn’t understand and she couldn’t let it go. Things started off small. Simply walking past his office when she had a class on the other side of the school, but it soon escalated. Waiting out by his car after school, standing outside his office, following him home in her own car… in the end Robert got so angry with her behaviour and threatened her just before chucking a bunch of money at her to make her go away, causing her to feel a spike of fury and shame that she’d never forget. Martha tried to do what he wanted, she really did, but she couldn’t understand why he was treating her like this when she had it in her head that he loved her too. In the end, she had to beg her mother to let her go stay with her dad in London, which upset the woman but what else could she do?
So Martha headed off to the big city to finish off her final school year and then off to university. She did everything in her power to move on and, though she made new friends, embarked on relationships, and did feel proud of herself for not mailing any letters or sending any other types of messages.. Martha never really managed to fully let go of Robert Henderson and Baberton.
→ Back to Baberton
Martha decided to come back to town just before her mother died. The woman had been sick for a long time but hadn’t wanted to worry her daughter by letting on just how bad it was, then it was too late. By the time Martha realised and came home, the woman was dead four weeks later. It was devastating but, with her dad having his own life, she’s decided to try and come back home, to this place where she feels so many strange ties, and set up some sort of life for herself.
She’d studied teaching and found herself a job at the local college teaching English pretty quickly after moving to town. She’d never taught in a college before so it was a bit daunting but her colleagues were all mostly supportive and she soon found her bearings. She sort of latched onto Charlie Baker, another English teacher, because of his history (which she found out about through a nosey teacher in the staff room). Finding out that Charlie had had an affair with a student… and was still with that student was fascinating and made that strange part of Martha’s brain tick like mad. She’s gotten very skilled at hiding her ‘crazy’ over the years but her mind is always working away, always finding meaning in coincidences, or looking for things that aren’t there. Martha wonders about the student in question, Ruby Peterson. If she’s like her, what the circumstances were, are they the same.. though hasn’t had much luck approaching her. She hasn’t decided yet whether or not Charlie’s the bad guy like Robert Henderson but she will… all she knows is that it just can’t be a coincidence that the two of them are also pretty good friends, right?!
→ What’s Her Secret?
Her affair with Robert Henderson, the deputy headteacher at her school when she was a teenager.
The fact that she has never fully let go of what happened between her and Robert, and has come back here with some kind of revenge plan cooking in the back of her mind. While Martha did leave to get away from him, her head has been stuck on repeat on the idea of getting her own back for the way she was treated. She doesn’t have a full scheme in mind yet, she kind of wants to mess up his life and make him feel the way she did. Confused, hurt, alone, ashamed, used… the list goes on. There is a logical part of her that reminds her she is not eighteen anymore and she won’t get away with it but.. being back in Baberton, her impulses are getting harder to ignore, and she just wants to do something before she goes mad.

SIMON BENJAMIN MEADOWS
Age & Birthdate: April 20th, 1987 (29)
Birthplace: Montreal, Canada
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Location: Lafayette Boulevard
Occupation: Unemployed
Length of Time in Newshore: about a month
↪ BIOGRAPHY
The Meadows family are currently proud owners of a hotel chain placed across Canada (famous for its high standard, five star rating and celebrity visits) called Merveille Hotels, and the couple’s only son Simon was one of those children bound to grow up as a rich brat, demanding more than they can chew out of life. Their HQ has its roots in Montreal and that’s where Simon has spent all of his years growing up. His parents however… you only have to mention them to make Simon roll his eyes and change subject to something more pleasant to talk about. To describe them briefly: his mother is known to be vain and greedy, causing fights where there are none for the purpose of gaining attention; it goes as far as her openly flirting with other men to prove her own worth of those who want her, especially when it comes to winning the eyes of her husband. His father likes to keep his eyes on the prize, no matter if that happens to be his wife or an opportunity to expand their chain even further. He’s a perfectionist to the core and loves to paint over everything, and everyone, that doesn’t seem to fit. Simon is part of that.
School wasn’t easy for the boy. Having been diagnosed with dyslexia at the age of ten, his father became so displeased by the crack in his perfect family life that he started to do anything in his will to keep people away from knowing this fact. This meant not telling the rest of his family and refusing Simon to seek extra help for his studies. His teachers often tried to ask if he needed some sort of support, noticing how far behind he was from the rest of the students and no one can tell him he didn’t try during his first years. Sadly, it wasn’t long until school started to fall apart completely for him and he decided skipping class was far more effective than trying to understand the massive amount of pages and math problems thrown his way. He started to lightly bully people in the school hallways, holding grand parties at his parents’ estate whenever they weren’t home; and not a weekend passed were he didn’t find himself flirting with a girl or two to win some much needed affection and attention. Thankfully, as he grew older, his father approved of him being homeschooled for a while during high school to help him work up his grades – mostly to make sure he had whatever needed to get into University. Knowing he didn’t possess much option when it came to further learning, he did what his parents wanted him to do and enrolled business classes; and being a man with no real value or dreams of his own he didn’t decline them either, no matter his disinterest with hotels as a whole. Though, beyond this, his life was only just about to start.
It wasn’t until three months after a safe lay, with a gorgeous woman named Layken he was slowly going steady with, that his life suddenly gained a purpose. By pure accident she ended up pregnant and as soon as she decided to keep the baby, he knew he had to give it a try and for a while his life was allowed a turn for the better. Of course, like any young man he knew he was giving up his freedom, but suddenly he had his own family, a way for him to settle things right and perhaps show his own parents how it was supposed to be done. He loved Layken and he loved the baby girl they named Hayley; they filled him with a joy no party and no one night stand had ever given him. Sadly enough it didn’t stay for long. Layken’s behaviors started to grow more and more irresponsible for the day, Simon was jumping in between jobs to avoid getting caught by his parents and the nest planted for him. Their fights, the sleepless nights, the stress… it was all too much. He hates to admit it, but fear finally took over and he ended up doing the only decent thing for Hayley he could possibly cook up: he took the child and ran. The need for Hayley to grow up in a peaceful environment, far from anything that could harm her in any way (even if that meant taking her away from her mother) was stronger than his will to stay. Deep down he tried to tell himself he was doing this for Layken too, by giving her a reason to value herself and her actions.
Simon moved to a small town far away from Montreal, not even telling his parents about his move to avoid Layken tracking him through them. It wasn’t long until he was struck by guilt of what he had done, but even so he was determent to stay away. Upon his arrival Simon was quick to find shelter with the residents of Banff, and he spent the first half of the winter doing straight government work like plowing roads to pull in some money; and by late March he was given the opportunity for an apprenticeship at a building company right outside of town itself. Simon found a form of solitude working with his own hands and he ended up growing quite fond of the job as a whole, though that’s something he will rarely admit to these days. Then, about one year after his disappearance, he began to wonder if reaching out to Layken wouldn’t be such a bad idea, just to see how things were going and calm her in case she was still on the look for her daughter. However, before he was allowed to move onto this plan, Simon was set back by a car accident that caused a load of damage to his spine and it put him in the hospital for almost a month’s time. He decided that being stuck on pain killers and living on the small amount of money he could gain out of his sick leave wasn’t worth a pity call; and thus he held on to his planned contact while he tried his best to aid for his now two year old daughter on his own.
Once five months had passed, Simon was finally struck with a decision. Hayley needed care, he needed money and time to rest – he simply had to move back in with his parents in Montreal. Thankfully they were both happy (as one could call it) to see their grandchild and had no problems taking Hayley out of his care for a while. Though, Simon only dared to stay inside his old home for about a month before the annoyance started to creep up and he began his search for a job in the hopes of saving up some sort of economy before he moved back to Banff, but eventually his parents talked him into a permanent stay. This decision would lead him to once again reconnect with Hayley’s mother, much against his own choice to begin with, as he barely held any trust for his first ever real heartbreak.
Within the year that came to be, Simon found it harder to keep Layken on an arm’s length away from himself; and the two once again started dating on equal terms – but it was not a peace that came for free. The two were forced to work together against Simon’s parents selfish and made up claims regarding child abuse and neglect thrown at him in a lousy attempt to steal Hayley, and to raise her for the job Simon had done his best to avoid up until now; but rather than let his parents have their way, he managed to talk his father out of it by accepting his long coming fate. He started working as a hotel manager at Merveille shortly after, and his parents tried everything they could to strain the relationship between him and Layken, wishing for him to focus on the things that matter to them rather than him.
For the months that passed Simon did his best to stay on top with work and family both, but it proved itself to be tougher than imagined. His parents made well sure that he worked overtime more often than not, his father constantly attacking him for the slips and slopes his dyslexia brought with it to his new stressful career. Although Layken stayed patient with him, Hayley was no late showing signs of missing the presence of her father and Simon more often than not felt guilt ridden by his lack of time for those in his life that truly mattered to him. His own needs became a second to none, growing more and more exhausted by the day – and neither did it help when Layken announced a second pregnancy half a year into their relationship. This was a new layer of stress, a knowledge that not only could his slips now damage one child, but two. Frustration combined with fear and lack of sleep caused Simon into an impulsive act of attempting to quit, deep down hoping he and Layken had what it took to fight back if his parents tried anything again – throwing himself into a fight with his father at the wrong possible time as he believed he would at least walk out it whole.
The older Meadows did not take lightly to this, showing a side of himself Simon never thought possible: Benjamin got violent as he instantly declared that if Simon wasn’t about to work for them, they had no need for him. Shocked to the core by the action, he hardly found it in him to fight back, leaving his father with the upper hand; but rather than finishing him off, Benjamin allowed fate to roll the dice for him and finished it off by pushing Simon out a hotel balcony in the hopes of staging a crime scene he could play around with.
Thankfully enough, Simon did not die from the fall, but whatever recovery he had managed to put his spine through was blown out the window and he was suddenly right back where he had started and stuck in bed. Neither did it work in his favor that his brain had repressed the evening with Benjamin, unable to offer the police any clues as to whom had attacked him and why – leaving his case on a halt. He accepted his next two months of freedom, even if he couldn’t move or do much, at least finding some solitude in spending some genuine time with his daughter and pregnant girlfriend. It wasn’t until one month before the birth of their second child that his memories got triggered back into place after a harsh talk with his father, and though he tried to live in denial of such an event ever being caused by the hands of one of his parents – the truth ended up delivered on a silver plate, Benjamin more than eager to use the this new layer of anxious fear his son suddenly felt for him, having finally found a button to press to regain the control he had lost by the birth of Hayley.
Understanding the situation Simon himself was suddenly stuck in, his patience, his pride and his confidence all left him at once. He realized he was the underdog, and unable to flee his parents’ claws at this point in time – he was stuck, and there was nothing anyone could do about it, and so he tried to make a choice for himself: to leave his family behind. His behaviors at home became worse, becoming both snappy, uncaring and unable to show affection for either his children or his girlfriend while he tried his best to find the courage to simply leave. It wasn’t until Layken sat him down, and with hours worthy of arguments, managed to get Simon to crack and finally share his burden with his partner. No matter what Simon tried to counter with, Layken heard none of it, and not long after had he emptied his office and walked out of Mervielle for the last time.
The attacks of his parents didn’t stop, of course they didn’t, and they kept finding ways to get under their son’s skin over and over. Desperate to part himself from them, he tried to file a restriction order on the couple, but was denied as he couldn’t prove enough evidence of needing one. Unable to sleep and falling into a deep depression, Layken took on the mantel and with a snap of her fingers she had sold the house they lived in, packed their belongings and dragged her family away from Montreal and away to a town named Newshore in California. They don’t quite dare to settle down fully, in case Simon’s parents find them again and forces them to move, but the small peace in between certainly is worth it if their family is allowed to stay together.
Triggers in biography:  car accident, emotional abuse, light mention of child abuse and attempted murder
↪ PERSONALITY
No child wants to feel as if they’re… just there, but that was the exact thing Simon had to deal with during the years of growing up. He is no more than a prop for his parents, someone to dump the chain on when they get too old to mend for it themselves. They often travelled between cities to keep an eye on their different hotels, but rather than take their son with them they left him alone with someone from their staff a few days, until he got old enough to mend for himself. Even a blind person could see the boy wasn’t happy, but with the known family pride, a blunt mouth and a confident act forced him through it with a constant smile across his lips. He was reckless and shallow through school, spitting at people and pulling the strings of attention whenever possible. Who could blame him, though? His father was controlling, and no late shaming his son for his flaws behind everyone’s backs, using emotional abuse to get him to listen; and his mother barely made contract with him unless an event called for it. So, if they refused to love him, other people had to. Compassion was not completely devoured from the boy, and at rare times people ended up under his protection for understanding him and showing him he was more than just that. They were a rare case, and those who dared listen were to cherish another, soft and near philosophical side of Simon – proving he is everything but unintelligent.
Even if, Simon only ever found a proper solitude during the news of his soon to be child, allowing himself a chance and a reason to prove to the world he was better and worth more than it had taught him. As a father he became selfless, overprotective and responsible – wanting nothing but for his little girl to grow up opposite to her parents, going far out to make sure of just that. However, his selfless nature has also become a hassle for the man, as no matter what happens he rarely sees the problem as a danger to him – but a danger to people around him. The car accident, and his first near death experience, triggered his first shot of paranoia; based upon the fear of leaving people who need him behind, or for him to lose whatever left in this world that matters to him.
The clash with his father eventually wiped up the little confidence Simon had left, and since quitting his job he has become nothing but jumpy and anxious as he is never able to disconnect his head from the fact that his parents can still find him, and get to either him or his family whenever they least expect it. He tries his best to keep his old personality up and running, but lack of sleep, back pains and paranoia surely makes it hard at times. His family is certainly something to fight for, and as long as he has them, he sees no reason to give up.

There is a logical part of her that reminds her she is not eighteen anymore and she won’t get away with it but.. being back in Baberton, her impulses are getting harder to ignore, and she just wants to do something before she goes mad.
