Not to be too ranty but I really hate how even at the hairdressers some of them are so judgy about wavy/curly hair. Like I’m a 3a on a good day and pretty much a 2b-2c otherwise without work, obviously my hair is different! And yet it’s always, always, complaints about how my hair is so ‘messy’ or ‘knotty’ or ‘frizzy’ after they use straight heat on it. Well, duh!

not only do i have the HUD but i semi-regularly receive visions of random imagined objects being manipulated or engineering/manufacturing challenges to solve. for example one time i kept envisioning how a certain shape (i now can't remember what it was) could be machined out of metal using a mill.

today i was seeing the creation of a volume from negative space out of two-dimensional sheets (like when you carve into a book to create a 3d sculpture), pondering the best means of achieving it (slicer software? manual manipulation in illustrator?), and what might be made (rotated triangle prism vs scaling triangle prism). Omg omg omg okay I think I've mentioned here before that when I was a teenager I noticed that other girls had knowledge and skill in things like hair and makeup that I simply did not have, and I kinda figured some girls are born with that knowledge/skill or something like that, and that I had to work extra hard to learn that kind of stuff because I was not born with it? Later i realized that those girls probably learned that stuff from watching their moms and other female relatives do their hair/makeup and the reason I never learned that stuff is because my mom is super butch lol

Anyway. Today I figured out, all on my own (not even googling it) how to straighten my hair with a blow dryer!!!!! And I am ridiculously proud and excited about it!!!! I've never even owned a blow dryer until a few years ago when my husband bought one for his hair lol and honestly I've avoided using it up until recently (when I got bangs) because every time I'd tried to blow dry my own hair as a teen (at friends houses, etc) I'd end up with a horrible fluffy frizzy mess that I hated. Only since I've gotten bangs and learned how to style them with a blow dryer (looks so good) have I become curious about what else I might be able to do with a blow dryer. So today I tried a whole blowout and while I still can not figure out the round brush blowout technique (waves + volume), I've definitely discovered the paddle brush straightening technique omfggg!!!!!!

This one goes out to frizzy haired bitches who can't live their life pretending they're able to brush their hair or get it straight (too curly) but also the curls usually just look like frizzy waves (too straight) so they just put tons of water on it every day and hope for the best.
