summary: audrey gives harry his present early, and harry absolutely loses his mind (not really)
warnings: cursing? a single spanish word? i think that’s about it. again, this is shmoopy fluff.
word count: 1.6k
☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
If someone were to ask Audrey what her favorite item of clothing was, she would, without a doubt, tell them it’s her maternity sweats she found at TJ Maxx. They were $5, and a bit big when she bought them, but she’s never looked back. Harry’s bought her several pairs that are similar, but they don’t compare to that pair.
This morning, she finds herself sprawled across the bed in her favorite pair of sweats. With a snack bowl in hand, she watches the baby kick at her. Harry and Audrey are sharing a quiet morning to themselves before Harry has to go attend to some major work details this afternoon. Should be back for dinner, but it’s just not the same. He leaves for a week tomorrow as well, so they’re trying to make the most of the little bit of time they have.
The window is cracked, the birds are chirping, and the air smells wet like it just rained. To Audrey, it’s the perfect type of morning.
“Look at her, she’s so active this morning.” Not even born yet, she’s already left awestruck by her little girl who’s showing her parents that she’s here and kickin’. Quite literally. Audrey likes to think that it means her baby is already strong, she clings to that thought. But also, damn does it hurt. Not every kick, but her belly starts to feel sore in the mornings when the baby does her thing.
“Yeah, she’s beating you up pretty good today.” Harry’s response is almost instant. He looks up from his book and places a hand on Audrey’s belly, waiting to feel his baby girl kick again. When she does, he smiles and offers his babygirl a quick, “Good morning to you too, little peach.” And returns to his book.
Audrey tosses a grape into the air and manages to catch it in her mouth on the first try. She throws her arms up in celebration, and Harry high-fives her without looking up from his book. He does chuckle to himself, but it’s unknown if he is amused from the book he is reading or the actions of his fiancée.
“But, can you do it three times in a row?” He carefully places a bookmark on his current page and closes the cover. He reaches across Audrey’s lap, attempts to grab a few grapes. She smacks his hand away and scolds him with a quick, “¡Déjalo! It’s mine!” before scooting the bowl further from him, almost to the edge of the bed. He rubs his hand and pouts.
“Um, ow!” He exclaims dramatically.
Harry crawls over her, grabs a handful of grapes, just to bother her, and wiggles into a more upright seating position. Back to the headboard, he tosses two up and catches them both in his mouth one after the other.
Audrey rolls her eyes, “Showoff,” she mutters with disdain.
“I’m a showoff? Do you really want to play this game?” He laughs, incredulous.
“Whatever,” She waves him off. As weird as it may seem, it’s moments like these that Audrey enjoys the most. It's the little things for her. She tends to remember them more, compared to others. It’s not always easy, but the little moments she gets to spend feeling normal with her best friend are ones she’ll treasure forever.
“Help me down? I gotta pee.”
Harry hops down from his side of the bed and walks around, grabbing her hands and holding her steady as she scoots her way off the bed.
She shuffles into the bathroom, not bothering to close the door as she beelines it for the toilet.
“Uh, baby, could you close the door, maybe?” Harry’s question is more rhetorical in nature. He knows she’s not going to get back up to close the door.
Since Audrey got pregnant, she’s become a lot less...private about a lot of things. She was never one to really care too much about the things some people would feel embarrassed about, but things took on a whole different level after she found out about the baby.
“No, it’s fine.”
“But I can..hear everything.” He laughs on the last word, in disbelief at just how comfortable she seems to be around him. It’s a good thing, to be sure. She just shows it in odd ways.
A few minutes go by, Audrey does her business and begins her exit from the bathroom.
“Hey, babe, would you mind if I gave you your present early?” Audrey calls out from the bathroom, but she’s not really looking for an answer. She’s already grabbed the small box from the linen closet on her way out and is approaching him, doing her best to hide it behind her back. Unfortunately, she fails.
“Well, I don’t have much choice, do I?”
Harry’s not one to say no to presents, but they had agreed to wait until he got back from his trip. However, he would be lying if he said he wasn’t excited for the gift exchange.
“Don’t make it sound like it’s so terrible that you’re getting a gift, H.”
“‘M not ungrateful, if that’s what you’re implying.” He pretends to be offended, clutching his chest and an exaggerated gasp leaves his mouth.
“It is.” He rolls his eyes at her response, Audrey just giggles.
“Well, are you gonna give me my present, or am I meant to guess what it is first?”
She sets the box on the bed, lifts herself back onto it and slides next to him. Her nerves are bubbling, making her restless. Now, Audrey knows that Harry will be happy with whatever the gift is, but it still intimidates her, when it comes to giving a gift to her loved ones. But this particular gift has her feeling vulnerable and slightly uncertain.
“Here you go, sport.”
“Don’t ever call me that again.” Harry demands. Instead of responding, she presses a gentle kiss to his cheek and taps the box.
“Just open it,” he smiles and shifts to sit directly in front of him, eager to watch his reaction.
“Okay, okay..” Harry trails off, losing his train of thought while he unties the bowtie on top of  the rectangular box. Setting the lid aside, he lifts a small leather photo album out of the box and Audrey’s heart begins to pound in her chest.
“What’s this?” He asks with such a gentle voice, it’s barely above a whisper. He doesn’t wait for an answer, though, and opens the album to the first page of 12.
Inside, is a picture of Audrey sat on her knees in a black bra and panties, baby bump on full display. He sits there, carefully examining the photo, expression completely unreadable. Audrey has absolutely no idea how he feels. It’s terrifying.
He takes the time to examine every photo He takes in every detail from each HD shot of Audrey in sexy position or another. Audrey’s favorite is a closeup shot of her chest, arm covering her nipples and her engagement ring sparkling to the camera. As he flips through the album, he keeps the same stoic expression. Each second seems to feel longer than the last. It drives Audrey crazy not knowing what Harry thinks of his gift.
Eventually, Harry reaches the last photo and the slightest hint of a smirk lifts from his lips and Audrey breathes a little easier. It’s a miracle she’s managed to stay quiet the whole time. It’s absolutely no small feat for her.
“So...What do you think?” She’s meek, cheeks warming up in embarrassment. “Do you hate it?” Harry snaps the book closed and looks up to make eye contact with her.
He offers her a sly smile, while he adjusts his pants. “Of course not!” His voice cracks ever so slightly, and Audrey lets out the most ridiculous laugh he’s ever heard. More a chortle than anything else.
She catches on.
“Which one do you like best?” She crawls beside him and takes the album from his hands.
“When did you do this?”
“That’s not what I asked.” She browses the album herself, curious to see if she can guess which one it is. If she had to, it would be the black and white shot of her on the floor, knees skyward and back arched slightly, baby bump on full display again. “I did this not too long after we found out about Peach being a girl.” She recalls the time she left for the afternoon under the guise of a “girl’s day”. Harry never suspected a thing.
“And you managed to keep a boudoir shoot secret? I’m impressed, baby.” He kisses her head in praise. “You know what, I think we should blow this one up. Do you have access to the digitals?” He points to the open page, the black and white floor shot, just as Audrey suspected.
“A few of them, yeah. What exactly do you want that for, if you have the album?” She looks up at him, curious.
“I want this one in the living room.”
“Absolutely not!”
“C’mon, it would look so good!” He argues with her, tapping the page for emphasis. “You look so good!”
She feels her cheeks warm up again, beyond happy that he likes his gift. “You’re very sweet, but we’re not hanging anything up in the living room.”
“Why not? I should be able to show off how sexy you look!”
“Harry, I refuse to have a picture of me, nearly naked might I add, hanging in our living room.” Audrey crosses her arms and keeps a light scowl on her face.
With some discussion, they finally manage to compromise; Audrey lets him hang up a canvas of the floor shot on the wall by the bed when he gets back from his trip. The album finds a home in the bathroom.

eye choose number 13 + anyone you want! i tried to choose the driest one mwhahahhahahahahhahahahahahhahahahahahhahahahahahhaagaga
[breaking the rules]  13. the first glass of fresh water - sangyeon (the boyz) x reader - dystopian au | wc. 1.3k - a/n: hehe choco i’m actually really glad you chose this prompt for the reason you did, it sort of became a challenge for myself like how much can i twist the prompt into something wild and tbh i had wayyy too many ideas for what this could be, but the one I went with is set in the same world and loosely related to “you hide; i’ll seek”
sangyeon is a rule follower.
so when someone above his pay grade tells him to give you, the capital’s most recent prisoner and alleged arson of the embassy building, a glass of water and nothing else, he does exactly that. of course it doesn’t help that you down the glass too fast, too eagerly. as if it’s the first glass of fresh water you’ve had in years. it doesn’t help that you hold the empty glass upside above your mouth, waiting for even the very last drop to fall in. and it certainly doesn’t help that you meet his eyes from across the cell, hold out the dry glass, and whisper, “please. one more.”
sangyeon is a rule follower. even when every ounce of his consciousness tells him not to be one.
sangyeon learns pretty quickly that you’ll probably never grow to like him.
he figures that when you refuse to get up as he brings you food for the third day in a row, it’s probably better that you’re ignoring him completely rather than screaming in his face or throwing glass at his feet like some have done before.
and there’s one particular morning where you must be too hungry to wait, that you meet him by the door of the cell as he slides the tray towards you.
“the least they could do,” you mutter scornfully reaching for the glass of water first, “is give us some good food.”
sangyeon doesn’t say anything in the moment, isn’t even sure you wanted him to hear. and yet despite that, he finds himself sneaking some of the guard food onto your tray before handing you your next meal.
“you know there’s this saying,” you murmur one day when sangyeon comes to deliver you a meal and a glass of water as he’s told to do, “down in the basing district. people say that if you end up at the peaks, you’re as good as dead.”
sangyeon had heard the lanier prisons called that before. he assumes the name comes from the mountain range surrounding it. a prison in between the peaks. but he’s less surprised by the name you call his dreaded place of work, and more surprised by the fact that you’ve even spoken to him with what sounds like a little less venom than before.
“are you from there?” he asks swiping his id tag against the scanner to open the tray slot of your cell door. “the basing district?”
“yeah.” you return, standing up from the corner of the cell. you reach for the water first. “just one glass?”
you down the entire drink before he can even respond. “it’s the rule.” and after a moment of your blank stare taunting him further, he adds: “not really my call to make.”
“and so what? you just blindly follow every rule you’re told?”
“well, no i-“ he stops himself. suddenly noticing something different about your hair. between the cell bars, just barely, sangyeon can see that you’ve made the effort to style it today. “yeah.” he finally responds. “i guess i do.”
you laugh, a low sound that reminds sangyeon of spite more than anything else. you grab the tray from the slot, and walk back to your corner muttering, “must make for an easy, privileged life then.”
and with the way you say it, sangyeon can’t say for sure he knows what you mean.
“i had this friend back in basing,” you tell sangyeon on his break as he pours you a second glass of water, “who made the best cookies and tea.”
he hands you a cracker and takes one for himself. “what’s his name?”
“if i told you i’d have to kill you?”
sangyeon stops mid-bite, sits back slightly, and stares at you staring at him gravely. for a second, he’d forgotten that you’re technically a prisoner. “oh.”
your face suddenly crumbles in laughter. “i’m kidding. his name was jacob.”
“was?”
sangyeon’s never heard a laugh die so quickly.
walking you to your daily interrogations is one of sangyeon’s newer responsibilities. it’s a job he’s done before, definitely not one he’s fond of. but for some reason, making the walk from the cells to the interrogation rooms, feels inexplicably foreign when he does it with you.
sangyeon’s been told time and time again to never initiate conversation with the prisoners, and yet today he almost doesn’t resist the urge to ask how you feel. luckily, you start talking before sangyeon can break one of his rules. “these interrogations are pointless really.” you mutter, and as impossible as it seems, he thinks you sound a little bit sad. he frowns. “it’s always the same questions.”
you reach the door to the room before sangyeon can make out a response.
the interrogation rooms are small. tiny really. with four black walls, a small table in the middle, two plastic chairs, and a two-way mirror on the farthest wall. usually, after dropping the prisoners off, sangyeon leaves from this wing of the lanier prisons, scurries away from his least favorite part of the peaks as fast as he can. but today, sangyeon finds himself seated alone on the other side of the two-way mirror, watching you fiddle uncomfortably in between your handcuffs. you both wait for the interrogator to come.
she does eventually, and she looks exhausted more than anything. she follows the rules, almost as precisely as sangyeon does, first hooking you up to the lie-detector, test-running the signals, and finally starting the recorder before having said a single word.
“okay,” she gruffs, flipping a page in her binder, “let’s just get this over with.”
the interrogation goes faster than sangyeon had imagined it would. he finds himself thinking back to what you had said before entering the room, about the questions being the same, and realizes that you were telling the truth. sangyeon feels like a spectator to a dance of some sort, like he’s watching you both run through a routine that you’ve been practicing for too long.
“your id number?” she asks.
“319507.” the machine flashes green.
“your name?”
“don’t have one.” red.
“are you from the mei district?”
no, sangyeon thinks to himself remembering the conversation you once shared.
“you mean the wastes?” you scoff.
the interrogator sighs. “are you from the mei district, also known as the wastes?”
“yes.” green.
“do you know someone by the name of yoon jeonghan?”
“no.” red.
“were you ever in contact with joshua hong?”
“no.” green.
“is jacob bae dead.”
“no.” red.
“have you ever heard of the Resistance?”
“yes.” red.
“are you a member of the Resistance?”
“maybe?”
“are you a member of the Resistance? yes or no?”
“yes.” green.
“did you know they had plans to infiltrate the lanier prisons?”
“yes.” red.
“did you know they had plans to set fire to the embassy building in the basing district?”
“no.” green.
“did you set fire to the embassy building?”
you falter at that. pausing for the first time since beginning. hesitating for what the interrogator must think is a second too long. suddenly, you look up, eyes glazed over as if watching your reflection in the two-way mirror. it just so happens that your eyes find sangyeon.
finally, you answer: “no.”
and with the way you say it, sangyeon knows it’s the truth
(the machine flashes red.)
it’s a few days after that particular interrogation that sangyeon has the guts to ask.
“did you do it?” he begins timidly.
“do what?”
“burn the embassy building?”
he meets your eyes, and for a while you don’t answer, you just stare back.
finally, taking a sip from your glass of water, you say to sangyeon, “i think you already know.”
sangyeon takes a sip from his own glass, and somehow, it feels like the first.
you’re right, about a lot of things really, but concerning this, specifically, you’re right: sangyeon does know. he also knows that he’s a rule follower. except that when he finds himself sneaking back towards your cell after his shift with a stolen set of keys and an id tag that doesn’t belong to him, he supposes he hasn’t been much of a rule follower since the day he met you.

The ringing of the phone indicating that someone is calling echoed on a room until the person on the other side picks up. “Hello, Yugen-san?”
“Good morning, Yamato-san!” Yugen cheerfully greeted.
Right now, they are back to the infirmary; Itadori laid on the bed tiredly, Kugisaki on the swivel chair as she spins around, Fushiguro reading a particular book that caught his interest from the bookshelf near him while Yugen leaned her back to the window, her phone on her ears as her eyes stared outside of the glass.
“What did you do again?”
Yugen gasps exaggeratedly as she offendedly says, “I didn’t do something bad!...well… maybe…”
Yamato sighed. “Should I contact the Principal?”
“Hehe. I think you should.” Yugen carefully agreed. “I used the highway railings two streets away from Jujutsu Tech in the heat of the moment. We were attacked by a Grade 3 Curse and it’s a slime type-”
“‘We’? You’re not alone?”
“Yeah. I’m with the First Years.”
“Yugen-san!” Yamato yelled. “You should not do things that might influence the kids!”
“Are you implying that I am a bad example for the First Years?” Yugen rested her free hand on her chest as if Yamato could see her. “Don’t you know that I don’t cuss, unlike Den? Or get stressed quickly like Shina? I’m a chill person and I don’t utter such obscenity.”
“We both know that you’re the carbon copy of Gojo-san - in behavior.” Yamato rubbed her temples. Oh, the headache she gets whenever a certain troublemaker strikes.
“I don’t. I’m not like Gojo-sensei. I’m a good girl.”
“What is this I’m hearing? Is Yu-chan saying that I’m also a bad example?”
The students turned their heads towards the white-haired Sorcerer entering the room as he placed small boxes on the table which made Kugisaki halt her antics as Itadori got up and peered at the object.
“Hm?” Kugisaki’s brown eyes scrutinized the text of the box as her eyes widened in glee. “It’s a fruit sando!”
“Woah, it really is!” Itadori opened one of the cartons gingerly.
“It’s a souvenir!” Gojo exclaimed. “Leave us a few. I need to talk to this midget here.” he tapped the Third Year’s head and urged her to walk as they left the infirmary, Yugen smiled at the First Years, her fingers smoothly ending the call with Yamato.
Tumblr media
“What is it that you want to talk about?” Yugen leaned on the pillar on the side as she crossed her arms and looked at Gojo with a questioning gaze.
“Where are Den and Shina?” asked Gojo.
Yugen blinked confusedly. “On their home.”
“You sure?” Gojo fished out something to reveal a ripped picture of a construction site and obviously from a newspaper. Slowly, Yugen’s indigo eyes slightly widened at the sight of the photo on his hand as her heartbeat drummed nervously.
Internally, she is panicking. Why does he have that picture? Does he know? Did the ‘business’ earlier he was talking about is looking for Den or Shina? I made sure not to make suspicious moves so why does he have that? What should I do? Should I act inno-
“Relax, Yu-chan. Your face is giving away your thoughts.” Yugen exhaled the air she didn’t realize she was holding and glared at the teacher in front of her.
“You’re being nosy, Sensei.”
“And you’re being skeptical, Akihisa.”
Yugen narrowed her eyes at him. “What do you want?”
Gojo hummed for a few seconds. “Hmmmm~”
He opened his mouth to say something but got interrupted when Yugen’s phone rang as she took out her phone from her skirt’s pocket and pressed the answer button on the screen.
“Hello?...eh? Five humans since she settled there?.......okay, good. Take care and see you.”
“Was that Den?”
“Yeah. Let’s go back to the topic.” Yugen says as Gojo’s lips quirk up in amusement.
“My, my. Impatient, aren’t we?” he teased.
“Why do you have that picture, Sensei?” she asked.
“First of all, it’s not my fault that someone left this on the Shoko’s desk along with scrolls sprawled on the table.” Gojo started. Yugen felt her cheeks heat up in embarrassment as she remembered that she indeed left the ripped picture on the desk. “Second, your voice raised a bit higher than normal when you answered my question about exorcising the Special Grade and lastly...you.”
“What about me?” Yugen tilted her head.
“You’re acting shady!” Gojo blurted out. “You can lie to a stranger but you can’t lie in my face.”
Σ(‘◉⌓◉’) ‘I thought he was going to say something cooler like you can’t lie to someone who knows you.’ (一。一;;)’ but since this is Gojo-sensei we are talking about...I guess this is expected.’
“You really have an expressive face, Yu-chan.”
“I was just asking how did you get your hands to that thing, why did you end up talking like a detective from the movies?” Yugen says, “You are demanding answers since I arrived here.”
Yugen continued. “Your actions are saying that you are suspicious of me since the very beginning because if you’re not, you should have brought the First Years late but you’re early.”
Underneath the blindfold, Gojo furrowed his eyebrows.
“You being punctual means that you know something even though I haven’t said yet the truth why we came back home before the appointed time Principal Yaga thought,” Yugen stated. “Am I right, Gojo-sensei?”
“Not to mention, you eat the trap I baited,” Yugen smirked, seeing Gojo’s mouth agape in surprise. “I invited the First Years for lunch as soon as you left and in the meantime, you used that gap to survey the infirmary. When we got back to the room, I noticed that Megumi’s paper was moved to the side. As far as my memory says, the paper was placed near the lamp and I didn’t use the lamp to pin the paper either. It just means that someone interfered while I was not there.”
“Bingo.” Yugen grinned in victory as Gojo howled in laughter. “I didn’t think that you would pick up the picture. It’s a trap that tells whether someone touched the things without someone supervising.”
“HAHAHAHAHA!! I just can’t outwit you!”
“That picture was in between Megumi and Yuuji’s paper.” Yugen shook her head with a smile on her face. “I just use a simple trap.”
“You know that I’m willing to cover you up, right?” Gojo ruffled her mahogany hair. “You’re like my daughter.”
“I don’t see you as a father figure.” Yugen teased. Her gloved fingers fixing her messy strands. “Ready for a storytelling?”
“When I am not ready?”
Tumblr media
One cautious step on the concrete while a juniper colored hair peeked behind the worn-out wall to peek at the two figures discussing what they are gonna do next as the womanly figure childishly threw a tantrum on the larger figure when her companion says something that upsets her.
“Why can’t I go outside?!” says the lass.
Believe it or not, Shina knows that these people are registered Special Grade Curses that her group has been hunting for a year since their Second Year and now they are the Third Year, the chase of these bloodthirst Curses are gonna end today. The female Curse was wearing a torn kimono, showing her smooth blue skin while her violet hair was tied up in a bun with a few strays falling on her forehead. The other one was a large Curse standing on 6’9 with only pants as his clothes and just like the female, he had blue skin and his violet hair was tied in a tight bun.
The plan is simple yet required for them to execute it in accurate precision. It was not the usual set up.
Have Shina sneak into the lion’s den to watch the Curse’s moves and report it, Den to summon weapons using her talismans to surround the vicinity if ever the Curse escaped, and Yugen to activate her Domain Expansion within 0.2 seconds and use it to trigger the Domain Repercussions to exorcise the Curses.
Right, it’s not the complex ploy they set before the day of exorcising.
Yet, the pair already notice her presence and they sharply turn to Shina’s hiding place, chasing her as she skips from side to side of the deformed, old hallway.
‘I followed Yugen’s instruction on how to conceal my existence and lowered my Cursed Energy, how did they know I was here?’ Shina shoveled the collapsed block of cement she passed by halting momentarily to kick the objects as it obscured the visions of the stunned two Curses; their eyes caught dust and foreign particles.
“Shina, can you hear me?!” the voice of Den reverberated around the place.
“The Curses are chasing me!” Shina answered as she felt dizzy from running in twists and turns. Behind her, the growling from one of the Curses can be heard. ‘Where does Den’s voice come from?’
“Which Curse!?”
“Special Grades!”
“Shit!” the navy haired girl cussed loudly. “Yugen is fighting a bunch of Grade 1 insects! She can’t use Domain Expansion!”
“Well, damn it!”
Shina can’t see Den but she swears she heard her laugh.
It made her lips quirk up in a soft smile. She, after all, doesn’t cuss when she is not frustrated-choosing to stay quiet until her stress level reached its limit.
The running is taking a toll on her.
“Where are you?”
A glance to the left as she answered, “Floor C, Emergency Exit.”
“Why are you so far away?!!” Den whined.
“I know I should not-” Shina dodged the Cursed Energy beam from the male Curse shot on her way as she leaped to the stairs. “..ask! But how are you able to communicate with me?”
“I put Talismans earlier on the building!”
“You think I’ll let you off the hook, brat!?” the female Curse exclaimed, her long nails scratching Shina’s back as she hissed in pain-the excruciating tingles making her gaze hazy.
“SHINA!!”
A flash of similar dark uniform slams the female Curse on the wall loudly. Shina felt her breathing hitch as her green eyes caught blood dripping on Den’s head who had her rose-pink eyes glaring at the struggling female Curse; hands gripping the Curse’s neck as she tried to free her limbs from the Talismans.
“Did you injure yourself on your way here?” Shina asked as her hand pulls out a Talisman from Den’s belt bag hanging on her back; sticking one Talisman on the female Curse’s mouth, completely shutting her shoutings.
Tumblr media
Swinging the blade multiple times, on the sides, on her front and back. The insect Curses resembled grasshoppers charging at her in full speed as Yugen swiftly sliced them; purple substance on her dark uniform and the filthy stench invaded her nose. Yugen tightly held the hilt of the tanto sword on her right hand as she continued to swing in different directions.
“This is why I hate pests.”  exhaled and fastened up her jumping pace; creating a large distance to the Curses.
“Okay, okay.” Yugen steadied her footing on the ground as she bounced to feel her legs that started to numb from exhaustion. She inhaled and exhaled as Yugen focused the power on her right leg; pivoting her left leg to raise her other shin.
The rumbling noise of a large portion of air gathering in one place blared towards the insect Curses as the force crushed the earth and made the Curses retreat until the air entered their internals; bursting their bodies apart. Yugen blink at the nauseating view. The forest is also affected by the pressure as the land had a large and long dent on it.
“Ah, there’s another group. Geez,” she says as her body flashes mid-air behind the ongoing Curses; the blade of the tanto sword whistling with the wind as she swung it again.
Tumblr media
The slapping sound of Talismans sticking to the walls loudly.
Den sprinted towards the female Curse’s torso as she smacks a Talisman different from the others; Shina is behind the male Curse, kicking him in the shins to take his balance off which the Curse quickly recovered as she dashed to the female Curse; She and Den crossed paths; their minds saying the same thing.
Talisman Technique: Synchronization.
Within those seconds, both of the Curses felt something creepier. The sensation of a boiling liquid slowly seeping through their muscles, taking its time to crawl in their body as their senses shout at them of the impending danger. The uncomfortable feeling of it made their mind distracted.
Shina rose her hand mimicking a marionettist manipulating her puppets with strings.
A tug of an invisible force.
“Wow, I just came at the right time.”
Yugen wields the tanto sword to the side as purple blood splatters in the process. Den threw a clean cloth to her. Meanwhile, the two Curses trembled upon hearing Yugen’s voice as she used the cloth to clean the purple liquid on the blade.
“The plan failed, idiot.” Den played the talismans on her hand.
“Sorry! hehe.” Yugen apologized sheepishly, still wiping the blade. “Take it easy! The theatre is starting.”
“So? You can’t move?” Den questioned the two Special Grades with mockery. The Curse pair stood frozen on their spot as they registered that they are not moving anymore.
“My Cursed Technique allows me to control living beings by touching them thrice as my Cursed Energy flows like a fluid,” Shina stated, her right index finger haul up as the male Curse’s arm moves; demonstrating her technique.
“Since Shina can’t touch you, I used my Cursed Technique,” Den said. “You see, my Curse Energy is made to create and they only manifest when I’m using these Talismans-” she waved the Talismans, “-and the papers plastered on the wall had her Cursed Energy on it and since it’s surrounding us-”
“-you Special Grades are going to die.” Yugen finished as she removed the dark glove of her right hand and throw it aside
“What a waste. I was hoping to use weapons to kill you guys to make me practice but you just have to crush that and see Shina.” Den brushed the dust on her skirt.
“Please let my sister go…” the male Curse pleaded as he struggled to move.
Yugen looked at him. “Do you know the story of Hansel & Gretel?”
The Curse didn’t answer.
“Hansel & Gretel are siblings like the two of you.” Yugen closed her eyes. “According to the story I read, there was a great famine struck their country and their family is starting to suffer from starvation, having no choice but to abandon the poor Hansel and Gretel. Their parent left them in the forest and suddenly, a sweet aroma filled their senses and followed the smell. As they reach a house made from different sweets, they met an old woman and she ushered them to enter her abode. The old woman turns out to be a witch! And she wanted to cook Hansel and eat him. However, Gretel is a smart girl and helped her brother to escape from the cage he was stuck and pushed the witch from the pot and she died.”
“W-What happened to Hansel and Gretel?” the female Curse timidly asked.
“Unfortunately…” Yugen opened her eyes to glance at them. “..they died in this life!”
Yugen slit the male Curse’s arms using the tanto sword on her left hand as the female Curse shrieked in fear; squirming on her spot as she thrashed around and called the male Curse in repeat.
“AAACKK!!!” the male Curse shouted in pain and Shina’s eyes widened when her ‘grip’ to the female Curse loosened; hands trembling from holding two Special Grades. For some reason, Shina can’t let the female Curse to sit still as the Curse erupt a high amount of Cursed Energy.
“Shit!” Den brings out a black talisman and sticks it towards the female Curse’s back; upon sensing her presence, the female Curse turns around and grabs her wrist then twists her body and fling Den towards Yugen and they both crash to the wall with a loud slam as the stones crumbled and fall into pieces..
“Nii-san!” the female Curse run to the male Curse and hoist him up but before she can carry the male Curse properly, a long black hand shot from the wall where Yugen and Den crashed into harshly grabbed the male Curse away from the female Curse as she yelped from the unexpected force.
Shina watched a figure stagger to her feet, swaying a little as she steadied her balance.
“Let me tell you that I hate it when my head gets hit.”
Yugen glared at the female Curse. “It really pissed me off.”
Behind her, the long black hand is still clutching to the male Curse like a child holding her doll. Yugen raised a brow. “Oh? Not fighting back?”
“I already accepted the fact that I will die in our Creator’s hands…” he answered, defeat lacing his voice. “Our purpose is to fulfill our Creator-”
“You think I will let you die on her hands, Nii-san?!” the female Curse bawled as her Cursed Energy pressured Shina and Den to the ground, leaving Yugen standing-albeit not perfectly.
‘Shina can’t tend Den’s wounds…’ Yugen shifts her eyes to Shina and Den laying on the concrete. ‘I have to finish this woman.’ her tanto sword dangling on her gloved hand.
“For now, let’s kill that Curse.” Yugen’s indigo eyes followed another long tentacle-like hand appearing on her left back as its index and thumb passed to the male Curse’s center chest like a ghost going past to a wall as it dug out a small shiny dark orb and placed it onto Yugen’s palm.
The female Curse watched Yugen crush the dark orb in horror as the male Curse on the long black hand faded into specks of dust.
The Curse’s lips quivered as she screamed.
“And that's how the story ends.” Yugen lazily shifts her weight to her other leg. “The female Curse or let’s call her ‘Gretel’ escaped by releasing pressure again and almost made Shina a limp and Den had an amnesia.”
Tumblr media
“Woah, what a terrible ending,” Gojo commented.
“It was a good thing that my little friend-” she caresses the left part of her hair as if touching a baby, “-protected the two yet ‘Gretel’ ran away before I got my hands on her. I just can’t let Shina and Den leave there in pain.”
“Spoken like a true older sister.” the white-haired Sorcerer patted her. “You did well.”
Yugen hummed, letting him stroke her hair like a child.
“That picture…” she paused. “..the construction site. That’s where ‘Gretel’ currently lives. Den might have sensed Gretel’s Cursed Energy in that place since she sticks a talisman on the Curse’s back before she flee and she could not get rid of it even if she tried to. Den’s Talisman can seal her but since Den is not near her, she can’t seal that Curse.”
Yugen cupped her chin with her gloved fingers. “Speaking of Den, we don’t know how many meters she should get near to chant the spell and seal Gretel until I exorcise her. Will one-meter good or she have to get closer? I think there’s a certain distance between the User and the Curse if it comes to sealing and not creating..”
“Yugen-senpai!” Itadori cries out as he rushes towards them. “I finally found you!”
“What happened, Yuuji?”
“Ku-Kugisaki is going to murder me!”
From afar, Kugisaki retorted. “I'm just putting your share! Senpai and Sensei are going to eat too!”
“Hah! For all I know, you secretly want an extra!”
“Just eat in peace,” Fushiguro muttered under his breath.
E X T R A :
“Huh?” Yugen looks around the old building. The aftermath of the exorcise had great damage and the residuals of the Curses are everywhere. She glances beside her to see Den surrounded by Medics provided by Jujutsu Tech and she approach the silent woman smoking on the side.
“Shoko-sensei!” the said woman puffs out the smoke and turns in her direction.
“Yugen, you seem fine.”
“Those Curses don’t affect me.” she rests her hands on her hips. “They belong to me, after all.”
“But still, you don’t feel dizzy?” Shoko asked.
“Not anymore.” Yugen let out a sigh. “How’s Den and Shina?”
Shoko dropped the cigarette on the land as she stomps on it. “Den is still light-headed and Shina is feeling weak. They should know that they should not have to use their Cursed Technique too much. Even though you are Grade 1 Sorcerers doesn’t mean that you have to use your skills for your full potential. Yugen, you already know this, right? The three of you are strong but handling two Special Grades especially coming from the unknown is dangerous.”
“I don’t know why the Principal insists that you exorcise these Special Grades.” the Doctor sighed. “He must be teaching you a lesson.”
Yugen only smiled wryly. “I feel responsible so I don’t mind if the higher-ups dump this work to us.”
“Higher-ups? Are they involved?”
“Of course, they are.” she scoffed. “They are expecting me to fail.”
Shoko laughed in amusement, “Cowards, aren’t they?”
“Yeah, they are.”
Then Shoko held out a familiar dark glove to Yugen as the Third Year’s face brightened up. “You’re looking for this?”
Yugen whispered a small ‘thank you’ and  wore the glove. “I thought it was missing.”
“Did you know that your other classmates made trouble?” Shoko says. “They receive suspension as punishment.”
“Eh??”
“All of the Third Years are suspended except the Three Espada,” she explained. “I’m saying this beforehand. Don’t be surprised if you can’t see a Third Year roaming on the school grounds.  Satoru will likely not explain it.”
Yugen chuckled. “Right.”

Meet Laureline Schmitt, my applicant for @eeriesims‘ Clary! I’m sorry I’m so bad at editing pfffttt.
P.S, outfit shown is her “date outfit” hehe <3
All the details are under the cut :o)
The General Deetz:
Name: Laureline Schmitt.
Birthday: Currently 28 years old, born on the 23rd of June 1991.
Astrological Info: Cancer sun, Scorpio moon, and Scorpio rising.
Myer-Briggs Personality Type: INFP-A
Species: Human but has witch-blood on her mother’s side which she’s very proud of.
Height: 5’7, but does stretches she found on the internet every night before bed in the hopes of becoming taller.
Sexual Orientation: Lesbian; doesn’t matter if you are cisgender or transgender, she just loves all the ladies.
Gender/Pronouns: Female, she/her pronouns.
Nicknames: Bun by her parents and close relatives and usually Laurie and Laurel by everyone else, but she really doesn’t mind.
Occupation in Glimmerbrook: She markets herself as somewhat of a “Ghost-Whisperer” - basically, she just helps the Glimmerbrook residences with any haunted house problems and is skilled at settling any issues between the living and dead to help maintain balance in the community. It combines her love of people, her good mediating skills, and her life-long fascination with ghosts. She isn’t paid super-highly considering the amount of work she puts in, but she just really enjoys her work. Her aunt always offers to send her some money here and there but Laurie is good at staying afloat.
Hobbies: She enjoys collecting antiques and fun knick-knacks, not necessarily for the purpose of curating and selling, but it does give her comfort to know she does have a flow of income to fall back on if it ever came down to it. She also enjoys reading and baking and all the nice homebody things.
Fun Facts:
1). She really loves anything peanut-butter flavoured (PB and J? Pssshh skip the J! On second thought, maybe even skip on the bread…..).
2). She religiously wears the green eyeliner her aunty gave her back when she was a teenager (yes she’s used the same eyeliner for 10+ years…sure, her aunty who’s a witch did put a never-ending spell on it but on the other hand GROSS!).
3). She HAS to go for a bike every night after dinner….if she doesn’t she can’t sleep.
4). Broke her nose as a kid when she tried to walk through a brick wall like the ghost character in her favourite show….she did not succeed but she now has a funny ice-breaker up her sleeve!
5). Is a firm believer in ditching the bra.
6). Her dad took her to get a tattoo when she was 18 and it doesn’t really have a particular meaning, she just thought it looked cool.
7). Laurel is not all too fussed about fashion, like the outfits she pulls together aren’t show-stopping, but she always likes to match her headscarf to whatever she puts on that day.
8). Her wardrobe is made up of exclusively op-shop finds and hand-me-downs from her aunt and mum. Well, apart from shoes, because she has quite wide feet.
9). She’s been a vegetarian for as long as she can remember; she never liked how eating meat made her feel, and she has a love for all animals, especially cats…..and frogs!
10). Speaking of cats, she does have a little black cat named “Bazzy” short for Basil whom she treats like a toddler (yes she did specifically adopt a black cat for the #witchaesthetic).
Questions, Questions, Questions!:
1). How did Laurel meet Clary?
Laurel was out on her usual evening bike-ride. As she was coasting past the public library, her eyes were drawn to the entry of the building. Specifically, someone going down the steps. Someone she’s never seen before. Laurel watched as the dark-haired beauty looked up, locked eyes with Laurel, and flashed a bright-white smile. All the way home, Laurel’s mind was cloudy as she replayed the moment. She didn’t really know what she felt about the girl she later learned was named Clary, but boy was she intrigued. Over the next few weeks, Laurel began noticing the newcomer as she ran her errands; it's not that she was too shy to say hi or anything, but she just enjoyed admiring her from a distance.
2). What was Laurel’s first impression of Clary?
In the moment, she was a little stunned by Clary; not necessarily in a “love at first sight” kind of way, but stunned nonetheless. It wasn’t one thing that caught Laurel’s attention, but a culmination of details; something about Clary’s whole aura just really drew Laurel in.
3). Laurel’s ideal dates?
Laurel finds people, including herself especially, are less awkward when they have something to do, an activity, to help ground the date, therefore for Laurel the perfect first-date would be biking to a beautiful private spot of Glimmerbrook for a picnic and a deep chat.
If this is say the third or fourth date she’d be more than eager to invite them over to her house for a movie night complete with caramel popcorn made on her wood-burning stove, or going to the beach to explore around the caves in Glimmerbrook and have a swim.
4). What’s Laurel’s ideal relationship?
In a romantic relationship, Laurel seeks a balanced give and take dynamic; while she loves to give and do for others, she does appreciate being cared for too; in the past she has been taken advantage of because she is so giving. Another thing Laurel really needs in a relationship is the opportunity to explain herself; she knows she can be a bit unaware, and most of the time her intentions are 100% good. She also would like someone who matches her calm energy and optimistic view on the world. Laurel is very positive and forgiving to herself and others, so negativity will start to weigh down on Laurel and cause her a lot of pain. She also wants a loving relationship, as Laurel herself is a very loving person, which has turned a couple of people away as she can move a little quickly in a relationship in some ways, even though she takes life so carefully usually; she just wants to hurry up to the ‘married for 40 years and we still lie in bed in the morning telling each other why we’re thankful for their existence’ kind of stage.
5). What’s Laurel’s Personality Like?:
Laurel is a very calm and loving gal. One of her big strengths is being able to objectively look at things and shrug negativity off; say if someone at the fruit shop yelled at her for using the scale because she didn’t see the sign asking customers to not use it, she’d just apologize, explain it was a simple mistake, and move on with her day; she’s usually not a dweller, she prefers to focus on the present.
She isn’t very adventurous, and doesn’t like to travel very far from Glimmerbrook, its her home. She thrives on the happiness of the people surrounding her, and does her best to make everyone happy, and is the perfect shoulder to cry on.
She doesn’t like complicatedness, she likes a breezy life, so she can have the tendency to distance herself from people who are hot and cold type of people, or people who don’t make their intentions clear, and can be impatient with people who take longer to open up, but she’s gotten a lot better over the years at being more open-minded and aware of others more nuanced feelings.
On that topic, she can struggle to see things from other’s pov in the sense that she can’t fully understand that not everyone can be as optimistic and idealistic as her, which is probably her worst flaw in a lot of ways.

Hi everyone. I rarely post, but this one is gonna be a long one, check the tldr if you prefer. So, context: 3 weeks ago, on a friday afternoon, I (25/M) am hanging out with a friend in a park, when I notice these two girls sitting down not too far. I actually notice one of the two in particular. I can tell even from the distance (roughly 20m, maybe?) that she's beautiful. More than that, she's glowing and radiating. I tell my friend about it, and she tells me "well, what are you waiting for? Go talk to her."Just so you understand, I only had 2 relationships in my life, one being in high school, the other long distance, neither lasting more than 4 months, the last one being three years ago. Haven't been actively trying to date since, as I was more focused on just, well, myself. Got a good job, started working out more, getting into piano again, simply trying to find myself (and I think I managed to do that now). Despite that, it would happen from time to time that while I'd be hanging out with some friends, I'd notice a girl and tell either myself or my friends about it, with every time thinking I should go talk to her, never daring to do it.That day it happened again. I spent maybe 2 hours talking with my friend, telling myself "I should go talk to her." But no, can't seem to get the courage to do it. At one point we had to leave, when my friend asked me "So. You gonna talk to her or are you gonna do like every time, walk away and then tell me you should have talked to the girl afterwards?". At that moment it hit me. My brain also told me "if you don't even try, you're just gonna regret it." My friend also told me "I know you don't know what to say, but just say hi, you know? She's not gonna hit you. If you want you can just say that it's me who wants her number. Just start to talk and see how it goes!"And so I went. While I was walking I felt every fiber of my body tensing up. Like, something was wrong, you know ? But I approached the two girls, crouched down so that I'd be at their level, and said... "Huhhh hi. My friend over there told me to tell you that she thinks you're cute." As you probably guessed, my brain sent me signals of "What. Did. You. Do." But then, both of the ladies laughed and the really pretty one said "Hum, thanks?" And from there it was a blur, I couldn't think about what words were leaving my mouth. "Yeah ! And well, actually me too!" Another awkward laugh. I follow up by asking if she'd be up for meeting and maybe get a drink later, and if yes, then why not give her number.2 seconds go by, which seemed to be an eternity. I was getting ready for a "No.", or a "Sorry got a boyfriend", something like that. And then.. "Humm, okay :)". I kept my calm, saying "Okay cool, here's my phone", but while she's typing her number my mind was like "DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUDE! SELF-FIVE".Anyway. Thanked her, wished them both a good evening, and left.It takes us three weeks to settle for a date, at the rhythm of one message per person per day (she'd always reply around 11PM, while I usually go to sleep before 10PM, so I'd send a message in the morning). We were supposed to first meet on the 15th (thanks to the public holiday) but she got a change of plans. She did send a message to apologize and say it wasn't a shitty excuse and that she still wanted to meet me, though.Big day arrives (that was last Thursday). I leave work early, we meet at 4.30PM at a Japanese bakery. She never had dorayaki but tries and really likes it. We talk, about everything and anything, our families, sports, movies, even start a little running gag of saying "No judgment today" (because she told me she loved Marvel movies, but didn't like Endgame. I Loved it). At one point we leave and go to a park nearby, enjoying the good weather. We end up sitting in the shade as it was quite hot, near a pond, and talk and keep talking. Video games, studies, high school, world news, the Amazon forest on fire, the Hong Kong protest, whatever, the conversation was just flowing naturally, without rushing or what (we even had a few pauses and moments of silence but it never felt awkward.) Also got a few jokes here and there, from me and from her, we laugh, it's really, just, great. At 7:15PM I ask her if she's hungry, wants to eat something or if she wants to go home. She replies that yeah she's starting to get hungry and would like to have dinner. And so we go to a ramen restaurant that I tried two weeks ago, as she said she loved ramen, but unfortunately there were too many people outside and neither of us wanted to wait an hour. It's a neighborhood I know though, so I suggest a Korean restaurant, since she also said she only ate Korean food once. No luck though, that second place was also full already and with people waiting outside. But I don't give up ! Still got another Korean address in mind. We arrive there, it looks completely full, but no one waiting. So we give it a try, enter, and actually get the last free table right at the back of the restaurant. She tells me she loves the smell and how the plates of the other tables look. And so, since she told me she didn't know much about Korean food, I suggest that we share the meal instead of each ordering his/her own food. She agrees. She never had japchae, soju or makgeolli but enjoys all three (the japchae and the makgeolli in particular). Main course is korean barbecue. During the whole meal we just keep talking, slowly eating, both taking our time. We even had twice a moment when we'd both be eating, look at each other and smile, but not the "hehe i'll smile since I don't want to speak with food in my mouth" smile. More like genuine, enjoying the moment kind of smiles (that's at least how I saw it. To me when people's eyes squint a bit, that's when the smile in genuine and not forced.) At that point I'm thinking "Hey. This is going pretty well." We finish the meal, I take a dessert, and I decide to pay for the restaurant. That wasn't my plan prior to the date, in my mind we would stick to a regular "each pays his/her part". But at that point,- I hypothesized she's maybe 21 or 22 as she told me she was in 3rd year of university- She told me she was working part-time at Starbucks. I got a full-time job with decent salary.- I just really enjoyed the time with herSo, I pay for the restaurant. She's a bit embarrassed, but thanks me. It's already 9PM but we stay and keep talking for another half-hour.When we leave the restaurant, I know I already won't have direct trains to get home. But I couldn't care less about having to walk 30 minutes more, simply because of how much I was enjoying the moment. We take our time to walk back to her subway station. We arrive, and still we're talking. I think maybe after 10 minutes, for her as much as for me it was becoming evident that we knew the date was coming to an end but neither of us really knew how to end it. So, I ask her "So... you had a good night?" She looks at me, smiles a bit, and says "Yeah.. Had a great night" She kept looking at me without saying anything as if she was expecting something; we were maybe a meter apart. That's when my brain went "That's the signal". I take a step forward, and she also takes a step forward, and we're both awkward. I don't know how to act. (Remember, I'm not particularly experienced when it comes to girls, and that was actually my first real date ever). And so, I decide I should just be honest with her. So? I say it. "I don't know what to do". She giggles and replies "I'm embarrassed too".That, was when my brain came back. "Your move, man." I still froze for half a second, but then I lean in, and kiss her. She kisses me back. That was, honestly, the sweetest, most gentle and tender kiss I ever had. My mind went blank for a moment, but! After maybe 5 seconds my brain hit me: "first date man, just a kiss is good, we're not here to make out with the girl". So I stop kissing her. We stay there silent, both smiling and looking at each other. I figure, "That's the moment to say goodbye". So I wish her a good night and also ask if she'd like to meet again. She says yes, walks down the stairs to the subway while still smiling, looking at me.Everything seemed great from that. I remember smiling to myself for no reasons, having a renewed energy despite the fact that I woke up at 5AM. Got home, it was around 11PM. I knew I had to go to sleep, but I also knew there was no way I'd be able to fall asleep in that moment. Got on my piano, practiced for almost an hour and a half, until my wrists hurt. When I got in bed, I remember thinking: "Is that it? When everything goes well, when all the signals are there? Maybe I won't be the Single Guy anymore" (Everyone, absolutely everyone in my close circles of friends/family is in couple, engaged or married.)Of course, the day after, I am less than focused at work. My mind keeps going back to her. I wonder what I should do, I didn't want to seem to be clingy, or insistent. I tell it to my friend, who says she always found that dumb (to wait before telling someone you want to see them again). In the end I decided, you know what, fuck the movies, fuck the "Wait 3 days before asking for a date again". I'll just be honest, with her, and with myself. I truly enjoyed our evening together, and wanted to see her again. So, at 6PM I call her. She doesn't pick up, so I leave her a message: "Hi. I just had to tell you I really enjoyed it yesterday, and I'd like to see you again. Have a nice day". Clear, simple, brief. (didn't go that smoothly in fact, but you get the idea.)I get an answer. 2 hours and a half later, she sends me a text: "Hey :) Sorry I can't call you back right now I'm with my family but I just listened to your message. It's very gentle of you, I had a great night yesterday and you're very kind. It's just that I don't want it to go further, sorry."At that moment I'm at a party with my coworkers. You can probably guess how I took it. The emotional rollercoaster had, let's say, a negative impact of my alcohol intake during that night. And so, that's it. I replied to her politely, saying it was a pity as I thought we had a thing, and wishing her good night. But I'm at a loss right now. I just don't understand, given how the date went. I mean, she wouldn't have kissed me back if she didn't want to, would she? I don't remember doing something bad. She wouldn't have stayed for what, 5 hours either if I did. There you go. If anyone could impart their wisdom, advice, opinion or knowledge on dating to a newbie like me, it'd be most welcome. Thank you if you had the patience to read all this. I figured keeping everything in my mind wouldn't have been a good idea, and I actually feel just a liiiittle bit better after writing all this.TL;DR: First date with a wonderful girl, everything went great, ended with a kiss. The day after she says she doesn't want to go further. Me quite sad but mainly me don't understand nothing. Please help. via /r/dating_advice
