Random WayuHello thoughts (because it's his name now. I guess...)
This show is unhinged and there's a reason these two are top of the cast list on mdl. This couple has the only fully completed arc in this show.
The translation is really something else. This should be studied. I will have to write about this when I have the time - like, why did they suddenly decide to call him Hello? lmao.
Are you telling me that all this time they still haven't had sex? They were ALL OVER EACH OTHER and it's the first time he's going for the dick?!
And this?
This is THE BEST line EVER! Honestly, the entire show is worth this scene alone.
Going back to the translation, if I got it correctly, he's actually asking him - Do you remember that you asked me? And NOT - Do you remember who asked you that?
The question was - What does it mean to Grasp desire?
To which Wayu answers with a grasp of Hello's desire! (Yes, I am committed to Hello's name now)
Then, the only possible conclusion - sex makes you a better actor. That fight scene was so sexually charged, even poor Park couldn't handle it. These two have some kink in them for sure.
Wayu is the best boyfriend and I will fight anyone who says different.
They better be getting their own show after this.

I can’t wait for you to see the ending of house of stars and tell us your thoughts
I saved this for today, because I already knew how it would go. I love spoilers, so I went in the tags to see @nerdybunnydestiny and @shouldiusemyname posts about it. I needed to make sure my schedule was clear of distractions because this was going to be GOOD!
Before I even start though, why are IQIYI subs such trash? I watched twelve episodes of this show and still have no idea what the characters' names are because IQIYI changed them every episode!
But whatever these two names are, they served!
Congratulations to them and their story.
But like everyone else commented, what happened to Pitch?!
Why didn't he respond to any of Zo's texts? Is he dead? (I wouldn't put it past Zo to kill him and play it like he was worried about where Pitch went. This man has proven himself to be on-that-level of long-term planning)
Like, I understand Pitch dipping out after he realized his acting partner was playing the LONGEST CON to get revenge on everyone who wronged him which included mansplain, manipulation, and murder.
But come on! This little cupcake was so adorable while he ruined everyone's life, so . . . Pitch could've forgiven him. Now is not the time to have morals when he was willing to be with Gun who covered up a hit-and-run for SEVEN YEARS!
I feel like a single parent being called into the principal's office during my busy work shift because my kid did something bad that I'm 100% supportive of and actually really proud of him pulling off.
Kudos to this bad bitch.
Taking down everyone was a queer RIGHT in my book.
Zo was really out here living my favorite saying.
This show was a mess, but it was my strategic hot mess, and I loved it!

This post by @heretherebedork got me wondering about why commentary doesn't work. This isn't just a BL thing but a universal writing thing. I think since 2016 this making commentary thing has increased in all media over all. A lot of that has to do with evolving political landscape of the world in both good and bad directions. But nothing I can say or do about that. What I am interested in is why sometimes it works and other times it doesn't.
It works in Gotham Knights, Agents of Shield, even Cutie Pie to a degree and then there are shows built upon the political landscape like The Eclipse and Not Me. It doesn't work in Supergirl, Doctor Who (13th Doctor's run), and just about most shows that try.
For me the ages of the characters on Gotham Knights, Legacies, The Eclipse, Cutie Pie make it work. With GK and LGS, they are American teens and irl a lot of Gen Z are like that and so it becomes about reflecting real life. For comparison, when TVD came out the cultural consciousness made it possible to succeed in a way it won't today. Same with Twilight. Cutie Pie and The Eclipse has the PC built into them with the gay marriage and anti-authoritarian thing respectively. Same for Not Me.
But if you look at Supergirl, it came from the comics, comic have been PC or ahead of their time a lot of the times, but as a show it's 'lessons' fall flat. Compare the Alien Immigrants storyline in Supergirl with a similar but better anti-inhuman one from Agents of Shield. The difference is when Supergirl did it, it was a one season and done thing. Whereas Agents of Shield built it up slowly over the course of multiple seasons. AoS also gave multiple opposing views on it from members of the team. Supergirl had all it's main cast agree that it's bad to treat alien's badly. Some of it is baked into the character dynamics from the get go. The Supergirl team leaders were Hank, an alien himself and Alex, Supergirl's sister. While AoS's team leader was Coulson someone with experience in spy work and someone who understands people.
On the BL side, like I said the ones that do it well get away with it because of the basic premise. The ones that fail like War of Y, which I would argue didn't fail completely, Step by Step, which has the Supergirl problem, do so because of weak writing. With WoY, given the subtitles and overall quality I didn't expect much. The Commentary has stilted dialogue but so does the rest of the show. Same with House of Stars. It fails but doesn't stand out as egregious.
To Conclude: Some advice as an author,
if you are going to include PC into your story either bake it into the premise or don't make it stand out.
Also it's always good to have opposing views, good and bad. Try to make things as round and without edges as possible.
The characters should be talking to each other, not to the audience. or worse, at the audience.
Don't rely on woke points to propel your story.
It's a story, a narrative first, commentary second.

I saw on your MDL page that you are watching House of Stars what are your thoughts on it seeing as we are close to the end? Any thoughts on who killed Suzie It's not a show I see anyone talk about, for me it is like I hate it but at the same time I also love it, it is a hot mess but I am still seated every week
so house of stars is a trainwreck that could've been great. imo the premise was very interesting, and the acting is not too bad. I was fascinated early on with the character of gun as this already established but completely lacking emotion & drive actor, idk I like his actor & find that he's doing great in this show. I HATE the korn love triangle though, pawin is such a messy fucking bitch I hate him, the girlfriend isn't much better either, and korn has no backbone which is too bad bc his actor is extremely handsome. I like wayu & wayha and at this point they're the only two characters I care about. the gun, zo & pitch love triangle is also extremely boring, zo serves no purpose & it's so clear he's the only one having feeling for pitch while pitch likes gun who also like him. which tbh I don't really love pitch's actor so it's hard to care for his ship with gun even though they can be kinda cute. suzie & host are great and the actresses absolutely carry the show. so yeah, I feel like nothing really happened in this show & the actual interesting storyline of suzie's murder started way too late. idk at all who killed suzie, obviously the ones that would make the most sense are either her son (who hates her), the weird spy girl (who's not trustworthy) or wayu & wayha (for a plot twist bc they're too nice.) but I know they're gonna try to make it an extra plot twist so maybe it's host? she's the one I suspect the least so that's why I'm saying that lol. no matter what I'm also seated until the end of the show but GOSH, I can't wait for it to end :')

House of Stars
Just started this series and I have only watched 2 eps and I am very much lost as I cannot recognize any of the characters but this are the points that I do understand
Gun ran over someone and that someone was seen at the beginning of ep 1 in the wheelchair and Gun still has nightmares over the accident
Korn I have no idea what is with him and subs don't help but he is shipped with Mintra but I don't think he likes her too much but he does like sleeping with her
Pawin has a huge crush on Korn big enough to fantasize about him and trying to openly win him over that scene was pure fire
So (his name) red has a big fat crush on Pitch Pizza, Pete whatever while I don't think Pitch feels the same, he is somehow fascinated with Gun
That is it that is all I have the names are from My drama list
