jason picked up the last box, shutting the trunk of the car before making his way up the stairs. those damn stairs that were the whole reason you were able to convince jason of this apartment building rather than the other one. you shyly told him under the covers in his dorm that you always wanted to walk up stairs with the love of you life as you talked about you days. hands clasped in hands and the ache in their calves long forgotten with just a glance from the other person who occupied the stairwell with you. jason put down a deposit on the apartment the next day.

"honey, i'm home!" teased jason as he swung the door open, just in time to hear the shattering of porcelain and cardboard.

"yn! are you alright?"

"i swear i was watching them but then i noticed my lipgloss was smudged from kissing you earlier and i thought i put it fully on the counter but i guess not??"

"you guess??? honey, our plates are shattered on the ground, they were clearly not placed on the counter."

"you know what?? you're sleeping on the couch tonight, mister!"
