“it’s wrong. again.”

“how?! i did it the way you told me to…”

“yeah, but 9x3 is 27, not 26”

“shit” kagami cursed under his breath while erasing his answer for the nth time – his notebook sheet was all scrunched because of the strength he used to erase. when the sheet was finally ripped apart and kagami started cursing louder, you decided that it was time to take a break and took him to your kitchen so you could get a glass of water.

“i won’t need this once i finish high school and become a famous basketball player, y’know”

“i do, but you need right now to be able to at least finish high school”

he cursed under his breath again, a habit of his you hd already grown used to and normally ignored, being almost impossible to understand whatever he was saying. but you couldn’t help giggle a little as you heard him saying he didn’t need ‘stupid physics to take good care of you’.

“there’s a lot of physics in basket” you chuckled.

“no! no, no, no. don’t you dare mix my basketball with this cursed subject”

because of the face he made, you couldn’t hold back and laughed lauder this time. and taiga just stood there, admiring you. he would go through this hell of study session and many more if it meant spending more time with you. and then, you both would go to college where he would be able to keep playing basketball and get professional while you study for your dream career.

he could do it – you were motivation enough.

midorima was smart and good at studying. and even if he had a hard time with a subject, he wasn’t the type to ask for help – let alone ask for your help.

it wasn’t that he thought you weren’t capable of teaching him something. the thing is: shintaro is prideful and dislikes showing anything slightly close to being a flaw to you. however, when you came to him asking for help to study for your finals, he was over the moon – even if the tsundere on him kept him from showing it to you.

so his answer was just a ‘tsc, whatever’ as he fixed his glasses to hide the smile and blush on his face.

and he wished he had suggested study dates before when he met you at your house, in comfortable clothes and with your hair tied back so it wouldn’t go in your face. you’re waiting for him with your books on the living room/ kitchen table and had prepared small snacks you knew he liked – even getting him his loved tomato juice.

shintaro could hear takao’s voice on the back of his mind calling him a simp. because even if he had a hard time showing he cared, he knew - hoped - you could see through his tsundere mask just like takao and notice how much he appreciated you.

however it certainly didn’t seem liked it as he helped you study, quizzing you out of nowhere, looking for exercises even harder than the ones your teachers usually put on the exam for you to answer.

by the end of the session, you could feel a headache starting was midorima put on his shoes to leave your house.

“thanks for your help, shin”

“i see you tomo…”

“wait” he said and opened his backpack again, searching for his pencil case. he took a pencil out of there and handed it to you “i don’t want you to have to rely solely on luck, but if there’s a question you don’t know, just use this”

he saw the way your eyes shined at his gesture and he could feel his cheeks warming was you smiled at him before giving him a kiss.

“thank you, shin-chan! i’ll do my best”

he gave up on trying to hide his smile from you before leaving.

“i’m sure this will be enough.”

aomine was a handful. so you weren’t really surprised when momoi gave up on teaching him anything. but you sure were when she asked you to try and teach him, claiming that you could “motivate him”. sure, you had convinced him to go to practices more, but teach aomine daiki a school subject not at all related to basketball was a whole new challenge.

yet there you were, at the school library, watching your boyfriend trying to solve a simple english exercise you elaborated yourself. you saw the type of exercises in texts and made one using a paragraph about basketball. that wasn’t the only question you did, you made many more hoping his attention spare would be at least a little longer if the sport was at least mentioned.

but any hope you had was slowly drifting off as you looked at his unbothered face staring at the paper. he had barely moved the pencil in the last five minutes.

“if you take that long to answer the exam questions, you won’t be able to answer all of them”

“i don’t get why everyone is so worried about this. is just a bunch of printed papers, nothing we haven’t done before” he stretched his arms above his head.

“and here i thought making some basketball-related exercises would help you get interested.” you smiled softly.

“wait. you did this yourself?”

“yeah, i mean, it’s not a big…”

“fuck, y/n, should have told me sooner” he said, looking back to the paper, a determined look on his face. “you had the trouble to do this to help me, so i’ve to try at least a little harder.”

“haha. if you put it likes this, i might even give you a kiss to each question you get right.”

“damn. and what do i win if i pass the exam?”

“then, we can do a movie night with burgers.”

you never saw daiki with such a focus out of the court.

@ HANEMIYA

doesn’t matter how much you were struggling with your grades, bringing it up to your high iq menace of a boyfriend wasn’t an option. so you went to the next best thing: the really smart but also kind boy in your class.

the classes of the day had ended, but he offered to stay a little longer just so he could explain the exercise the teacher just passed to you.

he had already finished explaining the ones you struggled the most with and you felt yourself a little more confident to try the rest by yourself when someone interrupted the both of you.

“oi, what are you doing here? kept me waiting for you, idiot”

“makoto?!”

“i-i think it’s better if i go now, y/n-san. goodbye” the boy said, scared by hanemiya’s angry expression. he left for the door in the back of the class, while hanemiya came in by the one in the front.

“sorry, makoto. i was just struggling with those exercises” you explained while putting your books backs on your backpack.

“and then you asked mister ratface to explain them to you?”

“don’t talk about him like that, he was nice”

“whatever, let’s go. you already kept me waiting long enough”

hanemiya acted like his usual self for the rest of the day. you even thought he had forgot about it by the end of the week.

but you should have known that he usually doesn’t just forget things related to you, even if he claims to not care.

and yet you were surprised when you got home friday after a short coffee date with him – since you said you had to study for the next week exams – and saw some flash cards with your boyfriend handwriting in your backpack. there were some types and key points you should focus on to get a good grade. they weren’t there when you left school, so he must have put them in your backpack when you went to the toilet in the coffee shop.

‘also get some sleep, idiot’ he wrote in one of the cards

“thanks, makoto” you said to yourself, making a mental note to thank him latter.

it was his first time at the school library and the only reason he went in there was because your friend said you were there.

and you weren’t answering his calls.

“oi, brat” he called as he saw you in a table. other people in the library made a noisy for him to be quiet, but he ignored them.

“whatcha doin’?” he asked before throwing himself in the chair next to you.

“studying for finals”

“i’m worried i won’t pass the exam. it’s keeping me awake at night”

“ha, thanks” you laughed weakly.

it was hard for haizaki to show he actually cared for you, but it bothered him that you seemed exhausted.

“y’know, i haven’t started studyin’ yet. why don’t ya explain it all to me?”

“honestly, i’m not even surprised…” you sighed before starting to explain the subject you were currently studying. you didn’t even noticed that you barely looked at your notebook.

“i think you’ll ace this shit, doll”
