Could you do a king Henry were he has a fight with his mother and y/n mother about her haveing a child
England’s Romeo and Juliet
Tumblr media
“Henry, we can’t hide this anymore. I must run off because my family name has already been shattered when I laid with you.” I told the love of my life the King of England Henry Tudor. I was a highborn lady sent to find a husband but instead I fell for the already married king and lost my virginity to him ending up pregnant. Staring at myself in the mirror he came up behind my wrapping his arms around my waist, resting his chin on my shoulder since I was shorter than him unless I wore heels but right now I was just wearing some flats since they were more comfortable. I was wearing one of his loose tunics since my dresses we’re getting tighter. “You don’t have to worry Y/n. I am the king of the England now. And I want you. I don’t care if I am married to that York daughter. I want only you.” He declares turning me around in his arms so I was staring up into his bright brown eyes.
The door to his chambers suddenly opened the moment I leaned up on my toes kissing him. He tugged me closer deepening the kiss until his mother’s voice rang through the quiet room and she yanked him back by the collar of his shirt. “Henry Tudor, how dare you have a romantic affair with a random highborn girl that isn’t your wife!” He stumbles backwards before she stomped up over to me grabbing me by shoulders eyeing my grown belly. I wasn’t full term but enough for someone who was once with children could clearly notice. “And you’ve put a now bastard babe in her belly…You are a disgrace to your name and family. I should place you in the dungeon for this-“ Henry stomps over to us braking his way in between us glaring at his mother. He glanced over at me seeing that I was on the verge of bawling tears at her words.
"I choose her, mother. I wish to marry Y/n and take her as my wife, queen and mother of my children." He spoke towards her seeing her face turn into a look of disgust at the thought. His marriage to Elizabeth was arranged before he took her father’s throne. And I didn't feel worthy of being his queen sometimes. Margaret glared at me throwing her hands up. "You had a destiny to be from the moment you were born. Don't you dare throw it away on some half witted noble whore!" Wrapping my arms around myself I headed towards the door grabbing the door handle until I felt Henry grab my wrist halting me in my tracks. He spins me around with my hair falling in front of my eyes where he cupped my face in his hands crashing his lips onto mine. I gasped gripping the fabric of his tunic shirt in my fingers deepening the kiss until we were both breathing heavily and he turned to his mother. “If you want me to remain on the throne then you will undo my marriage to Elizabeth of York. Then allow me to wed Y/n and declare her your queen.”
She gasps nodding her head yes heading around us and towards the door with only few words. “Yes, your grace.” She bowed her head and once the door was hit behind her I spun around to Henry flinging my arms around him. He wrapped his arms around me burring his face into the crook of my head kissing my cheek a few times. "See I told you there was nothing to worry about my darling future queen." He nuzzled his nose with mine making me giggle and lightly blush feeling nervous about ruling. "You were right but...what if I'm not a good queen?" Henry shook his head suddenly picking me up bridal style sitting me down on the bed ditching the shirt I was wearing alongside his own pressing his lips deeply onto mine. "You will be the greatest queen ever and I intend to please you until you see yourself the way I do. I love you." He pushed me down onto the bed with over top of me while my fingers knotted into his curls bringing him in for a hungry kiss. "I love you too, Henry."
Comments really appreciated ❤️

JON SNOW || MAB DAROGAN
According to Welsh mythology, Mab Darogan or the "Son of Destiny" is a messianic figure that would force the Anglo-Saxons and the Vikings out of Britain and reclaim it for the Celtic Britons.
In ASOIAF, Jon Snow is assassinated while he's about to rail against the Boltons who have usurped his family's castle and currently rule the North. It's possible that after his eventual resurrection, he will still want to fight against the Boltons and drive them out of his ancestral house. After he succeeds, the people of the North who have suffered under Bolton's rule will see him not only as their rightful ruler since he's the heir to their late King Robb Stark but also as a savior (aka a messianic figure).
Through the centuries various historical and mythological figures have been linked to Mab Darogan.
Jon Snow shares some parallels with two of those: the mythical King Arthur and the historical Henry VII of England.
Both Arthur and Jon are illegitimate kids of royalty. King Uther Pendragon fell in love with the married Igraine and either forced her to be with him or she also fell in love with him depending on the version of the story. Similarly, Prince and Heir to the throne Rhaegar Targaryen fell in love with Lyanna Stark, who was engaged to another man, and according to rumors in Westeros, he kidnapped her and raped her. However, it's more likely by various hints we get through the books that the affair between Rhaegar and Lyanna was consensual. Both affairs lead to wars and Uther and Rhaegar dying without meeting their sons.
It is worth noticing that in some tales, Uther and Igraine are married after her first husband's death so Arthur isn't illegitimate. In ASOIAF universe, Rhaegar could have possibly married Lyanna as Targaryen aren't against polygamy and thus making Jon his legitimate heir. Not that it actually matters, because just like Arthur is the true heir to his father even in the versions he's a bastard, similarly Jon Snow is the narrative heir of Rhaegar who can save the world regardless of his bastard status or lack of it.
Let's move to the similarities between Henry VII and Jon Snow. Martin has already shared that the War of Roses was a major inspiration for the book series. At the end of the War of Roses, it's neither House Lancaster (inspiration for House Lannister) nor House York (inspiration for House Stark) which emerges victorious but instead the new King is Henry Tudor who starts his own dynasty. The said King wasn't the most likely candidate to the throne as he wasn't closed related to any of the previous Kings, like Jon isn't related to either Tommen/Joffrey/Robert/Stannis/Renly. Instead he drew his claim through kinship to older generation Kings with whom he didn't share the same surname. Jon is also related with all Targaryen Kings despite not sharing their surname.
Henry's father died in battle before he was born, like Rhaegar died on Trident. Both Henry and Jon were raised by their uncles who shaped lot of their views. Henry spent a long time in exile hiding from his opponents and similarly Eddard Stark raised Jon Snow to the far north to keep him away from King Robert's wrath- in case he found out about Jon's existence. Besides, even after leaving Winterfell, Jon went to the Wall which counts as a sort of exile away from the rest of the Kingdom. Henry returned to England from exile and fought and won the english crown against King Richard III. Jon is dying as he tries to raise an army to fight Ramsay Bolton in order to reclaim Winterfell. When he's eventually resurrected, he's gonna continue his fight against Boltons and probably like Henry Tudor he will come out victorious. Could he also battle the possible King candidates of the South? That's something up to speculation.

Coat of Arms of King Henry VII of England.
Another interesting thing about Henry VII is that his coat of arms included a white dog and a red dragon, which is very similar to a possible Jon Snow's coat of arms (a red dragon for House Targaryen and a white direwolf for House Stark).
The famous badge of House Tudor (Henry VII's House) consists of the combination of the white rose (House York) and the red rose (House Lancaster). Could Jon Snow also combine both Targaryen and Stark colors on his own badge? Or maybe he'll adapt the blue rose which is significant to his parents'story?

Elizabeth of York being that iconic that every man who ever met her immediately fell in love with her, she was the darling of her father Edward IV’s eye, had her Uncle Richard III wrapped around her finger and then married her families enemy Henry VII in an arranged marriage but managed to get him to fall head over heals for her. To the point where he was on the short list of Kings in history who never took a mistress, remained loyal to her and is documented as being so depressed and suicidal after her death that he was never the same, and then her son who even though he became such a horrendous man he spent his entire life trying to replace his mother with every woman he met.

what is an interesting fact about the tudor dynasty?
omg okay I don't have anyone to talk about this irl so i have a lot to say
Catherine Parr married Thomas Seymour (Jane's brother) and he started to sxually abuse Queen Elizabeth I while Catherine was pregnant with her first and only child
Henry spent more than 4 years trying to divorce Catherine Of Aragon to marry Anne Boleyn and they were only married for 3 years until Henry basically charged her with crimes she hadn't committed (like adultery and conspiracy against the king)
the only two wives of Henry that Mary I (Catherine Of Aragon's daughter) liked/respected were Anne Of Cleves and Catherine Parr
Margaret Beaufort (Henry VII mother) was 13 years old when she gave birth to him, her only child
Anne Boleyn and Catherine Howard, the "beheaded queens" were actually cousins
Queen Elizabeth I (Anne Boleyn and Henry VIII daughter) is Queen Elizabeth II first cousin
Elizabeth I is considered to be one of the best queens in England to this day, she had a reign of 45 years until she died at the age of 69 (that was obviously something practically abnormal at that time since she had almost no teeth and no hair left) She was also the last monarch of The House Of Tudor

My thoughts on this painting
Tumblr media
I found it on twitter account called Tudor Extra, and they say it has been recently discovered by Dr Emma Cahill Marrón(on twitter as EmmaLCahill) in London.(link is at end of post)
Honestly in closeup it looks in really poor state.
On left are obviously Henry's parents and correctly identified so.
Tumblr media
But i am not so sure about rest of figures being correctly identified. Or rather I am sure they aren't!
Tumblr media
Yes, the figures lined in red are Henry VIII and Catherine of Aragon.
But the orange I lined in orange is supposed to be Margaret Tudor. Henry VIII's sister. Fashion-wise it's possible.
Catherine's gable hood has both veils down, frontlets up. So at earliest it could be somewhere in 2nd half of 1510s, at latest late 1520s. The lack of ends of paste would point to c.1520(however if this was a copy...painters tend to not include them, or not give them justice...) So I am not 100% trusting it.
Margaret left England in 1517(read up on her life, if you want to know more), so in theory she could have been included here. But why is she by Catherine's side? Or rather behind that. Odd isn't it?
Such possition would much better fit Mary I. The sizes can be deceiving here...because in reality Catherine is supposed to be way smaller than Henry...
Hence this figure doesn't necessarily have to be a child(Mary I), but could be. And Mary was wearing same cap in Vyne chapel(where is commonly mistaken for her mother.)
(If there was Margaret, why wouldn't there also be Mary Rose? (Henry's other sister). ...Wouldn't that be even more odd than his daughter being included.)
But...I am really buffled by two figures entirely on right side.
Allegedly on left is Eleanor of Austria and on right her husband Manuel I of Portugal, whom she married in 1518:
Tumblr media
...Nobody thinks it weird? ...Just me?
Well, in my opinion. They are misidentified. Both of them.
The man wears order of golden fleece-but that wasn't limited to just Habsburgs, plenty of foreign royalty were honourary members. Including Manuel of Portugal and Ferdinand II of Aragon.
One would be normally considering if the entire portrait is not done to commemorate Charles V visit to England...with figure beside him being widowed Germaine of Foix(who was there!).
But why would Henry's parents be included in such portrait?...Makes no sense!
Unless...we're looking at dynastic portrait!!!
...Where Henry's parents are on left, Henry, Catherine and their daughter Mary in middle, and Catherine's parents on right!
This could certainly be Ferdinand:
Tumblr media
Ferdinand died in 1516, but Henry's parents were long dead too...
But...what about the woman? You cannot tell firmly the shape of gown and jewelry(mind could easily play tricks upon you.)
Tumblr media
But why would Isabella wear french hood?
...And i considered that perhaps somebody confused portrait of Germaine of Foix or even real Eleanor and Joanna(netherlandish type of frenhc hood) with Isabella...
But then I noticed shape within the french hood's veil...
Tumblr media
And it looks suspiciously like cofia de tranzado... the cap and 'braid', just where they are supposed to be.The headwear is overpainted!
Hence it could be based upon some portrait of Queen Isabella!
Unfortunately this is just card/print from Ancaster Collection, Grimstorpe castle labelled slightly wrong as family of Henry VII(instead of Henry VIII):
Tumblr media
I hope we can all agree. It deserves way more love and attention.
This might be the first Tudor dynastic portrait!
Equivalent of Whitehall Mural or The family portrait from 1542/3.
...And if there is black and white card of it...is it drawing, engraving, printm or photograph? ...It could be out there...
PS: In it...Elizabeth of York is taller than Henry VII. Not that I'd trust the proportions entirely...but it'd be funny if true.

“The oddest thing about Mary’s reign, like that of her grandfather’s, was the fact that it happened at all. A hundred years before, the accession of a woman to the English throne was all but unimaginable. Sir John Fortescue, the most influential constitutional thinker of fifteenth-century England, had flatly denied that a woman could wear the crown. Nor was her sex the least of the obstacles in Mary’s path. Untrained for rule and unmarried, declared illegitimate and excluded from the succession in 1534, subsequently restored to it in 1544 (though with no revocation of her illegitimacy), a convinced Catholic who by 1553 stood almost alone against the religious policy of the Protestant regime, Mary looked likely to be baulked of her rights when the Duke of Northumberland married off Lady Jane Grey to his son, Guildford Dudley, and Edward VI willed the crown to Jane by virtue of her descent from Henry VII. The fact that the duke hoped to frustrate the accession of one woman by running another as her rival is a commentary on how much things had changed, as well as on the lack of a plausible male alternative. The account of how Mary overcame these formidable obstacles, a veritable Renaissance history of virtù dominating fortuna, is the most romantic and appealing episode in what has generally been seen as an unappealing and drab reign.” — Richard Rex, The Tudors

Favourite Tudor Lad...
Tudor week 2023.
Brought to you by @dailytudors! 🌹
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Q: favourite male Tudor family member?
A: Henry VII of England. He won the war of the roses (with his mothers and many other women’s help). He established the Tudor line and very clearly loved his wife Elizabeth of York immensely. I definitely recommend reading up on him and the legacy of the war of the roses, also, credit where credit is due, Elizabeth of York and Lady Margaret were absolutely badass women.

4) Richard III of England (1452 - 1485), son of Richard of York and his wife Cecily Neville
5) Elizabeth of York ( 1466 – 1503), daughter of Edward IV of England and his wife Elizabeth Woodville
6) Henry VII of England (1457 – 1509), son of Edmund Tudor and his wife Margaret Beaufort
7) Catherine of York ( 1479 – 1527), daughter of Edward IV of England and his wife Elizabeth Woodville
8) Bridget of York ( 1480 –c. 1507), daughter of Edward IV of England and his wife Elizabeth Woodville
