The thing about Tara in Buffy is that, it’s not even the egregious use of the kill the gays trope that makes me the most angry, it’s that her entire arc was based around her being a life long abuse victim who found Willow and got a Family out of this relationship, one that acted like a family Should (mostly. either way, nothing ever as bad as what she came from), and these people treating her well allowed her an environment to blossom in and get some self esteem, and she started sticking up for herself confrontationally and sticking up for Other’s confrontationally, when the Tara we first met was quiet as a mouse and looked constantly at her feet. 

And she broke off with Willow because she Saw that Willow was being controlling and abusive and using magic as a tool to achieve that, and that was So Strong of her. That was like, the magnum opus of her character development. And Willow Had decided to quit magic, but that only addressed the tool, not the behaviour. Tara left in the end because willow tried to control her, and Willow never gets to the point where she manages to work on That character flaw before Tara shows up and goes ‘yeah we should get back together and skip all the bs’ and it is Such An Insult to her character. 

The death was awful for a variety of reasons, but it didn’t insult her as a character, but the getting back with willow just before hand to make the death more painful? That’s what gets me so angry. 

If you were going to kill her, at least let it be a version of her that isn’t manipulated into an action that’s ooc at the eleventh hour just to make the audience sob a bit more over it.

How would you imagine a wolf pack birthday

omg idl love to do a whole post for each character someday but I’ll try to keep it to a paragraph right now I imagine that birthdays were hard for Emrby when he was younger, it was always hard to forget that his dad wasn’t around, so Quil and Jacob always went all out for his birthdays. Not just presents, but they would spend the whole day with him, goofing around on the beach and chasing each other on their bikes. Every year, Jared throws a huge party for his birthday. It was impossible to forget that the day was approaching, he built up the excitement for at least two weeks. There was a different theme every year, starting with spiderman when he was twelve. Other notable themes have been: Space, 70′s, and “pink”. For his birthday, Quil’s mom and grandfather always take him out to breakfast. After he joins the pack, they start the tradition of present scavenger hunts in the woods, with them hiding the presents in the woods in their human forms, and Quil searching for them as a wolf. Paul used to not make a big deal about birthdays before he joined the pack; his human friends would get together for cake but that was about it. He never took much stock in aging every year. But after he shifts, he takes every birthday very seriously. Having his aging tied to his shifting abilities is a big deal.

I just realized why last year in my intro to creative writing class I was sooooo against my professors insistence that physical writing is better than typing.

I'm a fucking artist, traditional and digital. I've had to fight the fight about digital art being real art, how there's still a requirement of skill, practice, and knowledge of the medium to produce anything good digitally!

So of course, when someone says writing on paper is better than writing on a computer I put on my boxing gloves. I've been fighting this for years already-just in a different stadium.

i want to say that i’m sorry it’s taking me so long to answer to the ask memes, as i wanted to reply with drawings. im working on them! slowly, but i am. i feel a little stressed to give a quick response, but im reminding myself im doing these for fun and not as an obligation. to no ones surprise, im a slow worker :D

but i also had my first meeting with a psychologist this week (it’s been... i cant remember how many years since i visited a psychologist... 8 years?) and he asked if it was okay to interview me for about 45 minutes, as our introduction. in the middle of the interview, he asked me if i’ve ever been evaluated for ADHD, as i told him i’ve always had trouble learning in school (unless im hyper interested) and i have a huge problem to focus on seemingly simple tasks. i honestly thought that was depression related stuff, but he suggested i do a test soon, so i started searching for adhd related videos on youtube and gosh.... i’ve been so sucked in. different people talking about their experiences, life before getting the diagnose and such, and i feel that i relate to so many of their experiences. sometimes it sounds exactly like me!! 

--so in short im getting tested for ADHD and perhaps i can finally figure out why everything is so hard despite having a very privileged life dgfdhfghgj
