So... I have barely any weaving experience and never did double weaving, at all...
So the only logical thing to do, is to double wave a colorful warp, that I really have to concentrate on, with hand spun yarn, that I worked my ass of for... before my first nightshift... I'm Shure that'll work out fine
In my continuing appreciation of string-based crafts, I have acquired a heddle loom and I'm teaching myself by making some ✨sparkly✨ merino nonbinary tartan.
The loom is second-hand and has many missing parts, which I will replace as soon as I work out what they are.
I am enjoying learning many little knacks about tension.
WEAVERS!! I came across this article in my 1886 version of 'The Housewife' but I need help figuring something out.
They mention the heddle and the shuttle, but they don't say what the tool in the centre is used for. I can only imagine that you use it to help push the shuttle through the loom (and have the thread going through the hole in the back?) but if anyone has any alternative suggestions please let me know 🙌
Here I am with a chaotic blog, that rarely will be fed. Mostly I will stalk all the wonderful artists here.
My “sex, drugs and rock´n´roll” are “Star War, black tea and film music”.
Sometimes trying to create some stuff...cosplay is a good way to relax in the fandom I like. 20 years ago I drew all day, but now I can´t find any talent in me. Otherwise I´m able to sew medieval clothes by hand and weave with tablets and a heddle loom...my talent changed over the years 🤷♀️
Now enjoying tumblr and some TBB stuff 😁
...and I´m sorry for bad english... 😳
By the way: This blog is 18+ now, so please all minors do not interact!
Thank you to #mandhos for the wonderful art of Master Billaba in my header 🤩
The finished product! Loft is a Link from @bonus-links by @ezdotjpg. The weaving process is detailed here for the alpaca overtunic. The undertunic was hand sewed in linen, and the amber necklace is hemp. Pleated pants were from a past project. Sadly, I do not own a Goddess Harp, so a Turkish lyre will have to do.

Much gratitude to one of my partners for driving me out to Huckleberry Reserve Faron Woods and taking pictures.
This is some handspun merino I dyed with onion skins! Not a lot left for the weft, so may pick a different weft yarn in the morning after a good night's sleep. I was out camping all weekend and need an easy task for the evening
A little overshot weaving I did for a friend's birthday - based on a design I made myself!
Overshot is really cool - you do one row with a thick yarn and pick up sticks to make the pattern, then one row of a thin yarn to make the background, repeat until you're done (with a bit of unweaving when you realise you badly stuffed up a pattern row :D)
