My Opinions Of TVDU In 2024

(They really haven't changed all that much but I feel like sharing)

–I loveeee Delena. Yep, I love this ship with all my heart and I'm not afraid to say it.

–I loveee Damon, probably another problematic opinion but I don't care.

–I don't like Caroline. There, I said it. She is just the kind of person that would irritate the shit out of me. Honestly, until season 8 I couldn't handle her scenes.

–Bonenzo is the best. Loveee it. They deserved better and I personally want to stab Julie Plec for how they ended.

–Bonnie deserved better. This is an universal truth.

–I hate Tyler, but I recognise that he was right to hate Klaus and right to be mad at Caroline for sleeping with him. Revenge on Klaus was kind of dumb, but understandable. He was right to want him dead.

–Klaus is my beloved, always going to be and I'm not even sorry.

–Marcel is a Mikaelson!!! Marcel is Klaus's son and his treatment is another reason for me to feel murderous to the writers of the shows.

–I don't like Kol. Yeah, he was right in many things, but he came across as somehow self-righteous and believed himself better than his family. Like bro, you aren't.

–Finn deserved better. I honestly still wonder if Finn knew about Klaus's real father, 'cause if he did Klaus would have a valid reason to hate him. I am saying this because in The Originals season 2 episode 3 we have flashbacks of young Klaus and the necklace Esther gave him. If I remember correctly Finn was always in the background and even retrieved the necklace when Klaus lost it. Given that Finn remembered Freya and what happened to her, it wouldn't be far fetched to think he knew who Klaus's real father was and hid it as well. That being said, he is a victim of his parents as well and deserved better.

–I hate Elijah. He just gives me the wrong vibes.

–Marcel and Rebekah made sense and I ship it. The Mikaelson family is insane with their romantic relationships, so they just sort of clicked.

–Kol should have taken the cure instead of Rebekah. Bekah could just adopt, but what is going to happen with Kol when Davina dies? Nothing good. Plus, he loved being a witch.

–Hayley and Klaus and Klaus and Cami made way more sense than Haylijah and Klaroline. Honestly and throuple with Klaus and the two women who call him out on his shit the most would have been chef kiss. Hope deserved two moms.

–Every Klaus ship made more sense than Caroline. Bonnie? Bennett witch and he likes witches. Aurora? First female vampire (other than Bex) and met him when he wasn't as he is now. Elena? Has Tatia's face, and I think if Klaus just tried to befriend her and explain why he needed to break his curse she would've helped. Camille? Her mind, she clocked him the moment they met, not to mention the O'Connell legacy. Genevieve? Powerful Witch. Hayley? Baby mama, werewolf princess and hybrid, not to mention they are similar. Stefan? The ripper days gave off fruity vibes. Damon? I love their scenes together, they have a similar vibe to them. Rebekah? He is literally killing her boyfriends left and right. Elijah? The codependency is strong here, Elijah's girlfriends have a higher mortality rate than Rebekah's boyfriends. Katherine? Tatia's face, also they are similar. Greta? Their few interactions in season 2 pointed to a thing going on.

–Elena is overhated. Baby has the biggest survivor's guilt in the universe and still she soldiers on. I hate when people said she was less compassionate as a vampire, I honestly thought she was the same. Like, she controls her hunger to become a doctor. She is too good for this world.

–Enzo should have been introduced sooner, Bonnie and him should have gotten together sooner.

–They should have explored Damon's trauma with Augustine more, and the fact that he always disregards his emotions.

–Klaus wolf side should have been explored!!!

–Unpopular opinion, but not everything Katherine did was necessary for her to survive. She could have easily contented herself with one Salvatore brother, but she had to go after both.

–Davina and Klaus needed more scenes together. I mean, that's her adoptive grandpa!

–Lily was awful, Damon was in his rights to not forgive her.

–I liked Valerie, and I liked her with Stefan.

–They should have explained more about Klaus ability to have children, 'cause that was weird. I loved it, but weird.

–Alaric should have died and the twins should have been raised by someone else.

–Matt lived too long.

–Jeremy and Damon were kind of funny.

–Bamon was really great.

–They should have addressed the fact that growing up Damon was the only one there for Stefan. We saw that in the flashbacks but they should have said it more.

–Damon purpose in life was to live for those he loved. My take on him.

–Damon was pretty humanity-full vampire until after Augustine when he turned off his humanity. But, five years of torture in the hands of humans would do that to a guy.

–The witches opinion on vampires were ridiculous. This species has been around for over a millennium, they are pretty assimilated in the magic ecosystem. I think their extinction would actually do more damage than their existence.

–Mikael and Esther deserved more pain.

–I think Dahlia only tried to negotiate with Klaus not only because he was Hope's father but because he was the only one who wasn't Mikael's son.

–Vampire/Supernatural politics are actually so interesting.

–Lexi was too hyped. And I don't get what she had against Damon in the forties.

–Legacies doesn't exist.

Ooh, my first question. Thank you for asking!

Even though I've watched tvd first, but I prefer the originals to it. So, my answer is going to be mostly about them.

I'm going to do the characters separately.

First, characters from T.O

Elijah Mikaelson (because he was the calm before the storm, I don't know how to describe him, he was just so resilient and holding onto his brother when the entire world could only see a monster in him, and for all his complex layers.) and Hayley Marshall (because she was a BAMF, the best mother you could have) fighting for first place, but none of them can win.

Camille O'Connell because she was such a ray of sunshine. (Caroline stans do not come at me, this is about two characters who have literally never met.)

Freya Mikaelson was such a badass.

Klaus Mikaelson because he had the best retorts and sarcasm.

Gia because she was so down to earth about everything. (Putting her after Klaus feels so wrong lmao.)

Now, Tvd characters. I can't conjure any explanation for them.

Caroline Forbes

Enzo St. John

Stefan Salvatore

Rayna Cruz

Rose from S2

Ships.

Haylijah, because have you seen them? The chemistry, the compatibility, the love and all the respect. (S5 never happened.)

Bonenzo because they were so good together, and Enzo actually loved Bonnie and didn't spend his time using her.

Klamille, because Camille could see beyond 'evil Klaus' and understood him like no one else ever did, and Klaus saw so much light in her, and he cared about her.

Steroline because they were also good together.

Gialijah because they had so much chemistry and there was just something about them

Friendships.

Caroline & Enzo, because he stepped up for her and they had something special about them.

Camille & Vincent, because they related to one another after all damage they got because of the Mikaelson family, and they made something good out of it.

Freya & Hayley because they spent years together raising Hope, and they bonded so well.

Stefan and Lexi because they do supportive besties better than anyone.

Bonnie and Damon because they have managed to go from sworn enemies to best friends.

Familial bonds.

Hayley and Hope. No one does mother and daughter better than them.

Elijah and Rebekah. We saw so many times how Elijah cared for her and how she looked up to him. I believe he was her favorite brother, even if the show wanted to make us believe it was Klaus.

Marcel & Davina. They're not family by blood, but the way he was her family more than her real family and tried to protect her meant so much.

Elijah and Hope. We did not get much of them, but they had so much potential. If the show didn't completely destroy Elijah to redeem Klaus, we might have seen him be the best uncle out there.

Freya/ Rebekah and Hope. These aunt/niece relationships were so good. Rebekah cared for her for months, and kept her safe, and Freya raised her with Hayley and taught her so much.

Finding episodes that I genuinely love from beginning to end is difficult.

TO S2E9: The Map of Moments. We had family, we had bickering and we had love.

TVD S3E14: Dangerous Liaisons. We had a ball straight out from a fantasy, do I need to say more?

TO S1E20: A Closer Walk with Thee. It was not a happy episode, but we had our first Haylijah kiss, and it's good enough to be in my top 5.

TO S5E8 : The Kindness of Strangers. As much as I hated S5, but this episode was so good. We saw the Mikaelson family reunited, and every time I watch Elijah break down after remembering Hayley's death, I can't help but cry.

TO S1E1: Always and Forever. This feels like such a basic answer, but I love this episode. It was the beginning of an epic tv show, and it's just so nostalgic.

These are the ones you mentioned, and I can't for the life of me think about anything else to rank. Anyway, I am awkward most of the time, and it includes this answer. So, don't judge me too harshly!

The point of this blog is to be a general Vampire Diaries fan blog, but I also post long film analysis focused posts!

I like all characters (except for true villains, like Mikael, and even then I think he's a great character) and all canon (and most fanon) ships. Personal faves include Caroline, Hayley, Elena, Damon, Enzo, Alaric, Rebekah, and klaroline, klayley, haylijah, and delena

I'm here to have fun and share my love of fictional characters, so keep it fun and respectful!

So, Legacies is over now. Did you watch the finale yet? If so, I'm curious to hear your thoughts on it and also on Legacies in general. What were your highlights, favorite characters and story lines? And how would you rank it compared to TVD and TO? Has it been a satisfying conclusion for you?

I did! I actually watched it live to make sure I didn’t get spoiled. I thought it was okay. It’s obvious it wasn’t meant to be a series finale because it was lacking an emotional punch. I mean, obviously the Klaus/Hope scene was far and away the best part. And it was nice to see Caroline again, but it felt like she was underused (which makes me think Candice probably only had a day to film--but it was weird that she barely interacted with Lizzie and then had that random scene with Cleo. And nothing with Alaric--love him or hate him, that felt strange, too).

But it was still nice to see Kaleb/Cleo and Ben/Jed happy together and preparing for new adventures, Finch and Jed’s moment was excellent. I even enjoyed Landon and Hope. And I loved that MG was afraid of Caroline.

Overall, Legacies was a show that had so much potential and I don’t think it ever really got there. This was far and away its best season so it’s extra disappointing that we won’t get more. They redeemed Aurora! I hated the Tristan/Aurora/Lucien season of TO so much so this really is a major fete in my book. Also, (shallow sidenote) Rebecca Breeds and Luke Mitchell had impressive chemistry for a couple that’s been together so long in real life.

Julie said in an interview that the plan for Season 5 was to do a big time jump and have more Gods stuff. I’m bummed we won’t get to see that because I do think this was the best villain story and I wanted to see where it would go next.

Josie was my favorite character. It sucked that Kaylee wasn’t back for the finale, but I’m happy they made her presence felt. Hope was next, then Lizzie, Cleo, Landon, and Kaleb.

The highlights were this season as a whole, the episode where the girls were pandas, the family road trip episode, Dark Josie!, tribrid Hope, every time a Mikaelson family member returned, and surprisingly. I very much enjoyed Landon and the Necromancer’s time in limbo (especially without Alaric). Kai returning!

In the grand scheme of things, TVD will always and forever be my favorite. I just loved it so much--even the bad seasons. I had a lot of issues with TO, but I loved the Mikaelson family too much to ever stop watching (even when I was furious over Cami’s death and remain furious to this day). TO also had my two favorite ships of the universe: Klamille and Haylijah (and I believe they are all reunited in Peace at this point, finally able to be happy together).

Legacies...I think I would place it above TO as a whole because I enjoyed almost every character, but like I said, a lot of squandered opportunity.

It’s a nice ending because it feels like it will keep going, even though it’s offscreen. But I wish they’d been given more notice to create an even better one. I wanted to sob on my couch like I did when TVD ended.

1. who is your favorite character in 2?

Landon Kirby! (Obviously, since I’ve got a whole side blog dedicated to him haha.) He’s one of my top favorite characters ever (okay, not just one of, he is probably my very favorite).

2. who is your least favorite character in 1?

Oh idk... least favorite of the mains throughout the show would probably be Damon. I don’t hate him (well... sometimes I do haha, but I like him at times as well) I just like him least compared to everyone else. Though if I’m choosing someone who’s not one of the mains, I couldn’t stand the heretics in season 7, along with Julian. Yeah... maybe I’ll say Julian is my least favorite.

3. what is your favorite episode of 4?

That’s hard, but I’m gonna say either 1x08 or 2x09 but don’t think I can choose between the two.

4. what is your favorite season of 5?

Hmm I really love every season, but overall, I think I will say season 1 is my favorite.

5. who is your favorite couple in 3?

It’s a tie between Klamille and Haylijah. I think if I had to choose I would maybe say Klamille? But they’re very close.

6. who is your favorite couple in 2?

Handon of course! No question. (Also the only couple in that show that I care about.)

7. what is your favorite season of 1?

Season 2 (but season 1 is a close second), there was just a ton of great content in that season. It’s my favorite season for Stelena, I also loved all the Forwood stuff, I liked Beremy as well. We got vampire Caroline, the start of Steroline’s friendship. We got Katherine as the villain along with Elijah and Klaus. And I loved the dynamics between the characters and the storylines. Plus the early seasons of TVD are just the best as well imo.

8. what is your favorite episode of 5?

Idk if I have a favorite, but I really like 2x05 with all the John and Judy stuff, that always gets me. And 3x06, the ending was a lot but it was good. But I also really love 3x08 and how the whole thing ends. So yeah, those 3 are some of my tops but I don’t think I can choose just one.

9. what is your favorite episode of 2?

There’s a lot of episodes I like for certain scenes but my favorite episode as a whole is 1x13. Just the writing, editing, acting, music, it was all so well done and also the most emotional episode of the show imo. And I love how it was all solely focused on the characters, like on a mental and emotional level. Plus of course the Landon phoenix reveal at the end. (I’ll also add that 1x01, 1x08, and 2x12 are some of my top favorites as well.)

10. how long have you watched 1?

I watched the pilot when it aired back in 2009 and just never stopped watching. And will still rewatch it even though it ended years ago.

11. how did you become interested in 3?

Since it was a TVD spinoff and the backdoor pilot was a TVD episode, I naturally started watching it once it began and obviously to see the Mikaelsons’ story continue.

12. who is your favorite actor in 4?

Probably Millie Bobby Brown, but also Noah Schnapp, he was amazing in season 2 and deserves more credit for that.

13. which do you prefer, 1, 2, or 5?

1, TVD is my very favorite show.

14. which show have you seen more episodes of, 1 or 3?

1, since TVD has more episodes than TO.

15. if you could be anyone from 4, who would you be?

I mean, I really wouldn’t wanna be any of them because they’re always going through terrible stuff. Having Eleven’s powers would be awesome, but I wouldn’t ever wanna be her with all she’s gone through and keeps going through. Idk maybe... Erica? Just because she gets to be part of the group but she’s also not been as in the thick of things the way the other characters have... yet anyway.

16. would a crossover between 3 and 4 work?

I don’t see how that would work or make any sense at all, especially when they take place like 30 years apart. Unless Eleven ended up being a witch or something? That’s the only kind of connection I can think of them having haha.

17. pair two characters in 1 that would make an unlikely but strangely okay couple

Idk, most everyone was kind of with everyone at some point. 😂 Maybe... Stefan and Bonnie? 🤷‍♀️🤔 I always wish we had gotten to see more of a friendship between them but I don’t think them as a couple would’ve been horrible either (Bonnie did think Stefan was hot in the pilot 😂) though I’ve honestly never thought of that before.

18. overall, which show has the better storyline, 3 or 5?

Definitely Lost in Space. Legacies started out good, but uh... yeah, anyways... 😬

19. which has the better theme music, 2 or 4?

Stranger Things for sure, that theme music is pretty iconic. (Legacies doesn’t have much of a theme anyway, plus I’m not a fan of some of the score either so...)

20. what is your favorite episode of 3?

Again, I can’t choose just one, but a few favorites that come to mind are 2x09, 2x22, 3x09 (except the ending), 3x22, 5x12... too many to choose from.

would you analyze haylijah?

You read my mind (literally I was just thinking about this last night)!

Firstly, I’m sorry how long I took to answer, work was killing me. I also wanna say how appreciative I am that people like you are interacting with me, so thank you!

Okay, so Haylijah! What I take from them is a simple issue that the writers continue to make in to and tvd: beating a dead horse. Confession time! I genuinely liked these two in season one. They were cute, had good chemistry, a connection that wasn’t inherently toxic, and just cause they were paired didn’t mean they were tied to each other (I.e - had different storylines and stuff to do). I also liked how they took their time with it (like I said, they had stuff to do). I mean, I guess Hayley falling for the brother of her baby daddy is a bit weird of a dynamic, but it’s not like Klaus owns her just cause they slept together once. It also helped that I enjoyed both characters at the time. That’s really it, just a surprisingly unproblematic pairing. So what happened? A lot, a lot happened.

In season one, we are introduced to Jackson (who’s his own can of worms, believe me) and is immediately presented as a love interest for Hayley (love triangle oh boy!). It’s not really until season two that Hayley shows signs that she might feel things for the man, and then they have to get married. Couple that with Elijah inexplicably being distant towards Hayley for reasons I can only guess are to raise conflict and nothing else (cause seriously it made no sense). So they sleep together (I don’t know either, guess they patched things up and love each other again. You’ll notice that’s a theme) after Hayley explains that she’s marrying Jackson and they can’t be together. We skip to the wedding and they both have a heart to heart and end their relationship for good. I have to be honest, as a finale to this ship, it was perfect! It wasn’t just Hayley repeating “I’m marrying Jackson for the pack, we can’t do this anymore,” Hayley brought up her issues with Elijah. He’s the kind of guy who isn’t good at showing his feelings (to each their own), and Hayley wants more. She gave her entire heart to Elijah and got barely anything in return. Maybe she doesn’t love Jackson now, but he’s what she wants and perhaps she can learn to. Good scene, good episode, good season. This talk was expanded a bit in the finale when Gia had gone to Elijah, and just when it looks like he’s pushing another person he cares for away he goes back and kisses her (this might be me stretching but I have an overactive imagination). So what happened? It wasn’t over.

Season three had these two interacting a lot more (I mean Hayley didn’t have her own storyline at this point, so it’s unsurprising), and the writers decided to give them this lingering tension as to hang onto the pairing. Now I don’t know about y’all, but at this point in the show I had moved on. Why can’t these two just be friends, why is this still a thing? This is the nature of every scene they share (which is a lot of scenes, Hayley do you have nothing better to do? Wait, I just remembered thanks to the writers you don’t!) until Jackson dies, and suddenly things go from lingering tension to will-they-won’t-they. Now, I don’t have a problem with this trope when done well, but the problem is this is less of potential and more dunking it in the water and taking it back out over and over. These two were together, but now it’s over, wait never mind it’s not over but we can’t be together, now the obstacle keeping us apart is gone we can do this, but I have to respect his memory, wait never mind let’s do this. It’s not even exhausting, it’s just boring. This is all during season three! They finally hook up again after Elijah tells her he murdered Marcel and Hayley just doesn’t react. Who cares that the man who saved her as a baby and has done everything in his power to protect her and her daughter was killed by this man? Hayley needs to assuage Elijah’s man-pain. Then she has the audacity to demand Klaus forgive him, and when he addresses the irony she just ignores him. This is the moment it got through my head that Hayley was no longer a character, and was just a puppet for the writers, but tbh it happened way earlier than that. The season ends with the fate of the Mikaelson’s falling on Hayley. Does this mean Hayley gets her own storyline again in season four? You see where I’m getting with this.

We get the first episode’s A plot starring Hayley exclusively as she fights to save them, and it was actually pretty fun, especially when she went into wolf form to tear apart some vampires. Unfortunately it doesn’t last long as she reunites with Elijah immediately. Okay, so at this point Elijah is dead to me and Hayley has ceased to be a real character. Outcome, they’re together now and I couldn’t care less. I could say it’s infuriating that Hayley doesn’t care that Elijah contemplated killing a bunch of children no older than Hope or actually killed four innocent teenagers for the harvest ritual (she does bring them up with him, but it’s always in a scolding manner that doesn’t affect how she feels about him), but what he does to her in the necklace is what makes her believe he’s not safe to be around Hope. Okay. Not much outside of this, they end things again shortly after he returns from the dead (another cliche that y’all keep doing!) The finale has them separated by the hollow and Elijah’s amnesia. So how are they gonna bring this back for season five? It’s much worse than that.

So season five skips to seven years later, and they both appear to have moved on with respective partners. Declan is boring (more of a Matt clone than people keep insisting Cami was) and Antoinette is interesting but also problematic, not that either of these people matter. They’re only plot devices (another female character who doesn’t get to be a character? Nice one guys!) to put a wrench in Haylijah despite Elijah’s amnesia already doing the job just fine. Surprisingly their relationship isn’t relevant at all for a good few episodes (mostly due to Hayley being missing. And then, he kills her. You know what I’m talking about. X character being responsible for loved ones death while they don’t remember said loved one cliche. Remember when this ship wasn’t inherently toxic? Tbh it hasn’t been harmless in a while. So we get stoic Elijah, and the others trying so desperately to make him and to the extension me believe that him and Hayley were this unbreakable love story for the ages, when in reality their relationship was a hot-and-cold nightmare. Take notes, if you’re gonna do a slow burn, don’t get them together and break them up over and over again unless you’re planning to spice up the relationship in some way every time. Because I lost interest so early, and I don’t think I’m the only one. So once Elijah gets his memory back his story arc is over for the season and he spends the remainder moping around (we could have gotten an entire story between him and Hope instead of one episode and a scene in another). He almost doesn’t go to his own sister’s wedding cause he’s man-paining too hard. Finally, he decides last minute to undercut Klaus’ self sacrificing so they could die together (cause who needs actual growth between these two?). It is speculated that Elijah reunites with Hayley in the afterlife and they live happily ever after (I say speculated because we didn’t get to see their afterlife even though we saw Hayley and Josh’s?).

So what is there to learn from this? Elijah was an interesting character who’s arc inverted Klaus in a clever kind of way, but would not stop hanging on Hayley. And Hayley herself is yet another female in this show who’s agency and character is stripped away to service the man. The main problem with this couple is how repetitive and predictable their story became. Unlike kolvina their beginning had promise, but they never grew from there, they only shrank.

I still always think about how Julie and Carina’s excuse for breaking up Haylijah was because they didn’t think Haley should settle for a toxic relationship and I’m like huh???? I know it’s been like 2 years but I’m still pissed. Cause lets be perfectly honest here, Haley and Elijah were pretty much the least toxic couple of ANY TVD Universe show and I fully mean ANY. They were honestly really wholesome like all the time??? They never intentionally hurt one another, cheated on each other, lied to each other(unless absolutely necessary because of bigger family reasons) Like I have always really struggled to see where this so called toxicity came into play. All Elijah EVER did was make sure Hayley was safe. All he wanted was her to be happy even if that happiness wasn’t with him. Yet the minute Hayley sees behind his red door she’s suddenly shocked to see all the murder he’s committed WHEN WE’VE ALREADY KNOWN THIS THE ENTIRE SERIES?? It was so weird, like this was brand new information to her or something. I’m like come ya’ll this is just inconsistent writing. They’re reasoning was SO DUMB and what made it worse was that Carina talked about it like it was this big female empowerment moment for Hayley. Choosing a “healthier life”...and then they killed her about 9 episodes later...LIKE WHAT. ARE YOU JOKING?? MAKE IT MAKE SENSE. Ugh they are so frustrating I swear. Also don’t talk about women empowerment on this show when every major character you kill off IS A WOMAN. I honestly felt like I was on crack when Julie and Carina released their reasoning. We have Sophie, Cami, Davina, Hayley, all who were at one point series regulars on the show, all women, and also the only series regulars to be killed off the show. At least until season 5 where they killed off Josh, so congrats, you kill off women and gay characters, how progressive of you. Making a real statement.

I honestly LOVE The Originals so much, I was just so angry with this decision and reasoning (and the finale but I won’t get into that) because it seemingly came out nowhere and is so hypocritical. Damon and Elena own my whole heart, but lets be clear, that shit was messy as hell for no reason and they got a happy ending. It just felt like a very weird hill to die on and I just wll kind of always hate them a little bit for it.

I love all of these 30 day challenge pics/posts/quests but I never have the patience to do it over 30 whole days, so instead I do them in one sitting, one go.

Feel free to comment your own opinions about The Vampire Diaries spin-off The Originals, whether it’s your favorite show within the TVDverse like myself or whether you just love it as much as I also love the other two shows TVD and Legacies, Legacies will have its own 30 day challenge soon enough too...

Feel free to answer these too, copy, paste it, like I have and do it for yourself...

1 - If you follow this post, or read any of my TO fanfiction it will come as no surprise to anyone that I’m in love with and very obssesed with Klaus Mikaelson, he will always be my king.

2 - Rebekah Mikaelson, she’s so badass yet has this softness that makes her so compelling at the same time, I worship this queen and often wonder what this show would have looked like if she remained a main star for all of its five season run.

3 - Making me choose between the love of my life Klaus, and the icon that is Rebekah is hard...so hard but I have to go with Rebekah on the grounds that when he hurts Rebekah in any way I’m always mad like no, not my Rebekah, whereas when its the other way around I’m normally like yeah he deserved that from her...Rebekah is the fictional bestfriend of my life and Klaus is the husband, and friends always come before men - side not this very answer will later be used on record when I find myself in an asylum one day lol

4 - I’d have to go with either Marcellus or Inadu, although Marcel is beyond irritating to me throughout most of his run I can’t argue his reasons for being annoying are somewhat justifiable especially after Davina’s death in season 3 :( so I’d say I hated Inadu the most, purely because the character in itself was so wasted, so stale, and a dud to be honest...I was hoping for more with the hollow arc but I’ll get to that later on no doubt.

5 - Season 1 Episode 16, Farewell to Storyville, Season 1 in general was one of the strongest debut seasons for any shows I’ve ever watched, if not the strongest! I loved Rebekah and Klaus’ bond most out of the siblings and although Klaus spends most of the episode trying to kill her and it involves Rebekah leaving as a main character...this has got to be the juiciest exploration of their relationship - also side note young Elijah should have left young Rebekah kill Mikael, just saying...

6 - I could put the entirety of Season 5 in here, minus all the epicness of all the Klaroline scenes and Hayley’s badass death...but to pick one episode out it would have to be the finale “When the saints go marching in” because it just felt like they had spent that season killing off characters who were least likely to appear in Legacies (which pissed me off), also I wanted Klaroline to be endgame and Julie Plec’s response to not doing that because of Steroline, a ship that always felt like Caroline was second place and that queen should be always be 1st.

I did not like that Klaus and Elijah died, which reminded me visually of that Avengers scene, which made no sense as we have seen originals die before and not once did it go down like that!

And even if I could forgive them for that I was rather pissed we saw no after life, even a Elijah and Hayley dance in the afterlife would have been appreciated...

I’m also always a little bittersweet when folk from the pilot don’t show up in the last episode, would have loved to seen more of Davina in general over seasons 4 and 5. (Rant over)

7 - Try not to pick a Klaroline scene...never mind, when Caroline first appears, pinning Klaus up against the wall and saying something along the lines of try picking on someone your own size, or the swoony moment in Mystic Falls where she tells him he was never the villain in his story, or again the swoony moment when their road tripping and trying to find Hope... but non Klaroline scenes which were epic, Davina going up against Klaus with the harvest power inside of her, Lucien going upgraded original and taking them all on, Dahlia’s entire arc, the finales of 1,2, 3, and 4 and last but definitely not least kid Hope’s entire arc, what a magnificent actress Summer Fontana is, a star in the making *

8 - “ We are the strongest creatures in the world, and yet we're damaged beyond repair. We lived without hope, but we will never die. We are the definition of cursed, always and forever.” said by Rebekah Mikaelson, all of the Mikaelson’s had epic quotes, this show, and it’s predecessor TVD have so many amazing quotes <3

9 - Klaus handing baby Hope over to Rebekah, trusting her above all others, and any scenes where Klaus, Hayley, Rebekah, Elijah and Kol have with baby Hope as well as kid hope - broody moments lol

10 - Josh’s death, I had feared his death every goddamn season especially knowing Julie Plec wanted him killed in the very first season :( however after being made a regular in the finale season I had hopes for him making it out alive and perhaps showing up in Legacies in a more prominent role as a teacher for the vamp kids or something...but no that woman just had to finish off her hit...nothing breaks me more than his death! Although, reuniting with Aiden in the afterlife gives me small comfort, Aiden’s was another’s death that was so sad!

11 - Kid Hope putting people in their place like Marcel, and even Davina (who I worship), I just loved this little badass kid going about like a little queen from the get go...Danielle Rose Russell had and still has very big shoes to fill IMO

12 - Freya and Elijah condemning Davina to the ancestors, or Elijah who was supposed to love Marcel like a son ripping out Marcel’s heart. A lot of season 4 Elijah annoyed me tbh, 50% of Hayley scenes ticked me off too and Marcel was a solid 90% throughout the entire run.

13 - Hmmm....Klaus meeting his real father then killing him in order to protect Hope as he just could not risk trusting his father :( that broke me, other shocking moments when Gia died, Hayley’s first and second death...

14 - Friendship as in friends but not family? friendship within family would be Rebekah and Klaus always, friendship outside of family bonds I would definitely say either Davina and Josh or Rebekah and Hayley.

15 - Klaroline, although I put myself out here considering they only kissed once in this show...I never shipped Haylijah but never hated it, I despised Camille and the Klamille ship and always will, I enjoyed Elijah and Gia but doubt it run its course well I think, I always thought Rebekah deserved more than Marcel and still do...so I’m going with Kolvina, even though Kol killed Davina, thanks to those damn ancestors, their romance was super sweet, I loved how Kol loved her and their marriage, though briefly seen, was everything! We should have got a flashback of their wedding god damn it! But I’ll settle for them being two of the few who got happy endings...and could appear in Legacies ;) fingers crossed!

16 - I loved Marcel singing How You Like Me Now, I wish Charles Michael Davis had a few more musical numbers within this show, he’s a really talented actor, singer, director...

17 - Joseph Morgan hands down, loved him from his first scene in TVD and loved his other work in Hex and Brave New World, to name a few...

18 - Claire Holt, she’s just wonderful as Rebekah and the actress herself, she seems like such a genuine sweetheart in real life and you can really see her love for the character of Rebekah too, I also liked her other work in A Violent Separation, 47 Meters Down and no I’ve never seen H20...yet

19 - The Originals hands down, although so far TVD is in second place, with Legacies in third place but with Legacies still going I have high hopes for that climbing...all are fabulous shows in their own rights <3

20 - Okay I wouldn’t be me if I did not answer this future episode question without a link to a fanfic season 6 of mines... Origins of Magic and my alternative season 5 Bad Blood

21 - Off the top of my head? Davina and Kol teaching at Salvatore Boarding School, giving Hope some family connections that she severely lacks in Legacies and how awesome would they be as teachers? I’d also like to see a cousin whether it be Freya and Keelin’s son Nik or Rebekah and Marcel adopt a child (creature) that also ends up in Legacies. Side note - may put this in my possible fanfic ideas board...

22 - I don’t think I could claim to be most like any one individual, I’d say I was definitely a little dorky like Josh but nowhere near as adorable, I have a lot of hurt inside of me like Davina and protect my friends as much as I can, I’ve definitely got a bit of paranoia like Klaus from being screwed over many times like him and also like them it was mostly by family members, I’m definitely as curious and of a quiz like nature as Camille, love a little too easy like Rebekah and get my hear broken too often like her too, can be a little bit twistedly playful like Kol although I’ve not killed half as many people ; I’d love to one day be as elegant as Elijah, or as brave as Hayley and who would not want to be a Tribrid like Hope?

23 - How is this any different to 4? Although I’ll just answer Inadu purely because of the waste of potential and how not one single time did I give a damn about her, although I despised that vampire bitch who killed Hayley!!!

24 - I definitely relate to Klaus, Rebekah, Josh and Davina the most which is why they are my favorites no doubt.

25 - Klaus Mikaelson, any day, any time, anywhere, unless of course him and Caroline make it work I love their love more than I love my love for Klaus so I’d be happy just watching them being happy as a stalker lurking in the bushes within the back garden of their marital home - side not another statement that could be put on record for my eventful visit to the asylum..

26 - The family bonds, I love how it’s not all about romances like it is in TVD and so far Legacies, but still has romances at the same time. I love the complicated bonds between Klaus and his siblings Rebekah, Elijah, and Kol (in that order) and I love the little homemade family of Marcel with Davina and Josh (also in that order) and Marcel’s complicated father/son relationship with Klaus.

I also love how we watch Hope from being in Hayley’s womb, to a baby, toddler, child and then teenager and the powers she shows even from as young as being a baby and stopping the car she was in with Cami (even if that did save Cami’s life for a little longer) sorry not sorry we all got to hate on somebody and I did compliment her in 22 sort of lol

27 - The fact that its finale season served more like a prequel to Legacies than a fitting ending to a show I had been invested in since before it even began airing, as most fans were, we have loved these characters since their inception in TVD and it did kind of feel like Julie kind of started the finale season with a hit list in mind killing off anyone she’d think would not cameo in Legacies at some stage which I guess is why there is so much ill will from TO fans for Legacies, which I did feel for a while.

I mean I still blame Hope for Klaus and Hayley’s deaths, also Elijah for Hayley’s death and Marcel for Josh’s but I do not blame the characters have as much as I blame Plec.

28 - Season 5 lol, Season 4 although at the time I did not want it to be its end, would have served as a better ending for TO and they could have still made Legacies work without any ill will of making TO’s finale season pitch Legacies.

29 - The Hollow turning out to be Henrik, or the original witch, or anything other than what is was, also the werewolf origins should’ve have been a bit more epic like the vampires origins were.

30 - I do love Joseph Morgan and Daniel Gillies in interviews, Daniel Gillies is one of the funniest actors behind the scenes and has great bromances with Joseph, Paul Wesley and many others within the TVD verse. I also love Claire Holt’s and Phoebe Tonkin’s friendship and how that’s been a thing since they starred in H20 together (which I want to watch purely because of those two)

Favourite Male character: Jacksssonnn. I have a lot FEELS about this boy today, okay. I have literally no idea where they came from but. Lol, apparently I do.

Favourite Female Character: currently, CAMI. Gosh, I love her so much. Her character got butchered by the show but damn, she was good! Her being a therapist and how she was human and vulnerable and scared but ALSO! So brave and fighting in any way she can. And just. Her personality. Whenever, I see her, I get a smile okay. She’s the best. And I will be forever bitter at how Canon did her.

Favourite ship: that question? In TO. That’s going to be hard....I have so MANY ships for this fandom, like. Abshjsk. I ship almost every character. I’m just gonna go with the first one I think of right now—which is Jayley. Okay that was a surprise. But let’s run with it, I adore them. It’s all messy, their relationship. Not a clean cut—Hayley’s still in love with Elijah and I don’t think that Hayley quite loves Jackson—but. Damn, if I don’t love them. I like their story and how they got married and how Hayley chose him—and just. JACKSON IS SO SWEET AND THE BEST MAN. He just loves Hayley and I mean, who wouldn’t? And I’m also so glad that Hayley got to have a happy moment. I think she’d really be happy with Jackson. And then how he DIED. I knew he was going to die but still that was freaking brutal. I loved it. And the whole thing where Jackson’s heart literally mirrors Hayley. And the WEDDING. The WEDDING. 2x14 is also one of my fave eps. Just. So good. Hayley looks absolutely BEAUTIFUL.

Favourite friendship: I was gonna say, Haymille—but I tried to go with one that I didn’t see as romantic at all. So. MARVINA. Marcel&Davina. I know they aren’t really friends and more like Father and Daughter and Brother and sister but! I don’t! Care! I love them so much. They’re so SOFT. But also—they do come with their share of problems, how Marcel saw her as more power, sometimes and stuff. But they really do care for each other, a lot. And just! 1x11 breaks my heart. Not to mention, 3x10. STOP KILLING OFF DAVINA. I mean. The first death, was really good and fitted with everything but just. Why again? Why Kol? W h y. The angst was good and all and perfect BUT WHY. And then, there’s that scene in the start of 2x01 or was it .2 where Marcel is like, “what I don’t get a hug, D” they are PRECIOUS okay. And I love them so so much. Oh gosh.

Aghast. I know it said one—but I really really love relijah. They have a special place in my heart. I don’t see them as Romantic really, more like actual siblings they are, lol. That 1x05 moment. The HUG with the music. how HAPPY they are to see each other.. i MELT. And and then how Rebekah was looking for her brother in season one and the HUG they share when she finds him. Give me all the relijah hugs. I love them so much. And oh gosh. “Language, Please” the joking and teasing they have between them. It makes me SMILE. They’re so Soft. AND HOW PROTECTIVE THEY ARE OVER EACH OTHER. Ahhhhh. It gives me LIFE

And also—

Okay, okay. I’ll stop myself here. Agshsjk.

Favourite Quote: My memory is failing me. Ehhh. Ehhh. OH. Okay that 3x11 one by Hayley. “Loving any of us means death” or something along those lines. Gah. That whole scene, that actor is SO good. And also, it was just a quiet moment between Hayley & Elijah. And I really really liked that. I keep thinking of that quote and how true it is—each people who try to love the Mikaelsons....kind of end up dying don’t they? It’s such a good quote and I love it.

Worst character death: This one is SUPER obvious. It’s Cami. I hate that one so much. WHY DID THEY KILL HER OFF LIKE THAT IT WAS SO STUPID. What WAS THE PURPOSE. And like how they made Cami’s death about Klaus. Urgh. I hated that so much. More over: how they killed her and used her character afterwards. I mean. I’m glad they didn’t forget about her and I did like that 4x01 moment of how Cami caress Klaus’ hair MY HEART. But. They could have kept her alive annndd we could have had that. But. No, we didn’t. And freaking, Delcan came into s5 and took?? Cami’s?? Role?? The place with the whole human faction thing.

This made me so happy you have no idea: MAP OF MOMENTS. THIS FRICKING EPISODE. HOPE REUNITING WITH HER PARENTS. How HAYLEY RUNS to her daughter. KLAUS BEING HESITANT AND THEN SMILEY WHEN HE HOLDS HIS DAUGHTER. THE SIBLINGS BICKERING AND JUST BANTERING AND JOKING AROUND. MY HEART. THE HAYLIJAH MOMENTS.

You dont understand how happy it made me, one of my fave episodes.

Saddest moment: TO has a LOT of these, lol. I’m gonna with the finale because what the actual FUDGE was that. I could not, and I’m not kidding, stop crying. It’s the most I shed tears for a show. THE PART WHERE THEY ARE ALL TALKING ABOUT KLAUS AND LAUGHING AND THAT FLASHBACK PART WHERE THEY LEARN THAT ELIJAH IS GOING OFF TO DIE AS WELL AND HOW REBEKAH RUNS TO HUG HIM—fuck. I’m getting teary again. Oh gosh. It’s just SO SAD.

Favourite location: that home they had in the early s4. Don’t ask me why, I don’t know—I just really like it. I wish they had settled there. But. Oh well.

I asked @lexa-kom-skairu this question but I’m curious to hear from you...what made you ship Hosie? Like how was your perspective changed on the relationship between Josie and Hope? Did they have any moments that could be compared to that of a canon couple in the TVD series?

Sooooo what made me ship hosie!! Danielle and kaylee to start because they were adorable and posted a lot of videos talking about hosie so i started shipping them even before legacies started. But then after episode 1 i was already shipping even more....hope asking for josie’s helpppp and even tho they couldnt use dark magic she helped hope anyway and in episode 2 hope said no one helped her with the spell just to protect josie dfjsjfskdfj but in episode 3!!! that was the moment i said “hosie for life try change my mind u will fail” because hope was sooo happy and laughing with josie and that stare and little smile hope gave josie at the end of episode 3 RIGHT IN MY FEELS!!!!! Hope is the cutest and so so soft when she is with josie likeeeeeee even with dark josie because she knew that josie was still there!!! I LOVE how their relationship is developing and im putting my hopes high because i really want them to keep that development! As if there is any tvd universe couple that i think it could compare to hosie?! Nope, they’re unique!! every other couples could try the stare contest that hosie does 24/7 just saying thats what i call chemistry....so in my opinion no i dont think there’s a couple from tvd universe that we could compare to hosie. I love A LOT of couples from tvd and to but they’re just too different from hosie lol i think the only one i could say that i can see some similarities is haylijah at the beginning XD

Did they seriously have Caroline say "Klaus wasn't the villain in her story"? They have made her completely OOC.

I had warned you guys that Caroline would say something in 5x12 that was so destructive to her character, and THAT was the line. Her whole characterization on the show was offensive and sad, because it’s not even just the complete retconning of the past, or the inconsistencies, it’s the blatant victim shaming. SHE apologized for trying to kill him, SHE absolved him of his past crimes…and what did he do? Nothing. No apologies, no hint of remorse. He just did as he always did, ramble on about himself and then be coy like “My intentions of murdering you and sexually assaulting you and murdering your friends were pure.” And she’d giggle and sip her coffee like “OMG, Claws, maybe so. Tee hee.”

How hard would it have been for the writers to have her address what a monster he was to her? To say he bit her, stabbed her, tried to kill her 3 times, controlled every aspect of her life, and for him to just be upfront and say “Yeah, I was a monster back then, and I may not deserve your forgiveness but I’m asking for it anyway. I’ve changed.” That still would have been weak sauce, but it would have been better than him literally acting like their relationship was a cute little romantic comedy of him chasing her and her being into it. The closest thing we got was her admitting he terrified her, but then they later say he wasn’t the villain of her story…so they couldnt even continue that continuity. That short continuity within a few episodes… Oh the mess.

For me, that declaration from her was completely unearned narratively. It was just a stupid, hollow line for a very stupid, hollow relationship. Klaus has shown remorse to every woman in his life that he hurt, but never to Caroline and I think that’s messed up because she’s at the top of his victims list. Those two characters were incapable of sitting down and having a deep conversation about their history, because the complexity and depth just isn’t there for them. So they sweep it under the rug, like they always have, and in turn make them act out of character for the sake of furthering the plot.

I think it becomes even more jarring, what they did to Caroline, when you consider Julie Plec and Carina Mackenzie patted themselves on the back for killing haylijah and discussing abuses of power and women in the writer’s room, and then came together to write the episode where they had a victim of an abuse of power tell her abuser that it’s okay what he did because…retcon.

Awww, how good was seeing again Elijah back... to himself. Not that I hated his memories-free persona, sure, but I felt like he wasn’t truly himself. And now, he’s finally back, with all the consequences of having his memories returned. What I always have loved is that every character in The Originals is portrayed by amazing actors/actresses who truly were able to make their characters real. And Daniel Gillies made a wonderful work because Elijah’s emotions were tangible as ever during this past episode. Elijah is destroyed, as I thought because he has understood that not only erasing his memories was a huge mistake (even if it was comprehensible), but the choice of knowing that relationships existence but denying its importance was even deadlier, and it led to a loss which won’t ever be overcome. Elijah is blaming himself, he considers himself as guilty as the purists because he didn’t do anything to save Hayley. In this last episode, I loved the scenes between him and Declan. I honestly thought Declan would have stayed in Ireland, but it seems that he could still reserve some surprise (I guess he is immune to the compulsion... vervain?), now that he knows the truth about the supernatural world in NoLA. I really enjoyed the way Elijah perfectly described both his and Declan’s feelings toward Hayley. They both loved her, but Elijah was and still is (and will be) her eternal and truest love. Not only because of Hayley’s words, but also for what he left to her in those seven years apart. Declan said that Elijah caused damage to her. Elijah chose to forget, needed to forget because he felt he wasn’t enough for her. While Hayley’s smile was enough to end a war. She is still under his skin, so Elijah is able to feel her, but he feels responsible and this is so painful that I only hope that Hayley will be able, in some way, to help him overcome his own guilt and pain... ;_; Until now, just a consideration: Hailijah was and it is more living than ever!! ç___ç<3

Character reactions + ships!

Klaus: super HOT. like gorgeous. Kind of super evil and just doesn’t give a shit though. I can tell he cares for his family but SLIGHTLY AND HE REPRESSES IT HARDCORE. Seems very angsty and misunderstood. Definitely a hidden sweetheart that we haven’t met yet. Still can be a total dick tho. Rating: 7/10

Elijah: honestly the love of my life right now. The SWEETEST BOY out there and THE CUTEST. SO HANDSOME. he’s so loyal and loving towards his family and Hayley. He’s so thoughtful I fucking love him. Rating: 10/10

Rebekah: fucking badass. She’s lowkey hilarious and a bADASS. BAMF. BIG DICK ENERGY. she so fucking sassy like klaus and a bit angsty. I don’t like the way klaus treated her and her boyfriends in the past though. But she’s a sweetie. Rating: 6/10

Hayley: super beautiful. Like drop dead gorgeous. Also seems perfectly sassy lmao all these characters are. She’s sweet too has a good side to her. Definitely LIKES ELIJAH. WHO LIKES HER TOOO SOOOOO. I feel like there’s more to her story. Deserves better squad. Rating: 8/10

Sophie: definitely pretty too. Seems like her intentions have good meanings and logic. Just wants to help other. Pure heart. I like her. Genuinely. Rating: 7/10

Marcel: gave off bad energy in the beginning. I have hope for him. But comes off as a dickbag douchebag most of the time. Seems cold and RUDE. soooo idk. Rating: 5/10

Davina: seems sweet. Kind of a bitch but like it’s not her fault. Sweet girl. Misunderstood with bad past. Deserves good. AND SO PRETTY. rating: 6/10

Cami: honestly idk. Klaus keeps fucking her up sooo idk. She’s nice though and very intelligent. Deserves better. Her brother did too. She seems like a darling girl. Rating: 6/10

Preacher dude: dick bag. Not totally but slightly. Doesn’t not seem good. Rating: 2/10

Kol: haven’t met yet. But in what I did see on tumblr it whatever seems like an arrogant sassy dickbag. But I’m sure he’s sweetie. So idk lol. Rating: 5/10?
