This is the process of how I prepared the celery I grew in my Gardyn for my freeze dryer. It was necessary to add water in my food processor to really break down the celery as fine as I wanted. It’s been in the freeze dryer all night so hopefully sometime tomorrow I will be able to pull it out and run it through the food processor one more time to make sure that it has been as finely ground as possible. It was a busy and productive afternoon - we #freezedried several different items: #bananas, grownup #macNcheese and #strawberries and packaged them up. It’s amazing how fresh the fruit tastes!! We packed some in small mylar goody bags and the rest went into #ball & #kerr jars and sealed with our #foodsaver. The shelf life of freeze-dried food is up to 25 years!!!
