With a deep sigh, Meadowbrook said so many things had happened, just in the last week or two alone, that it would be hard to tell them absolutely everything, so, she told them she would leave out the context and details; though, if they wished to know more, she politely requested them to ask her as soon as possible, so she and Rockhoof would explain their perspective of events as best they could.
Glossing over the duller parts of the past few weeks, which were often long stretches of time where she and Starswirl, at the request of the Princesses, were looking for old books and scrolls, either with or without help of others; she asked them, to be sure, if they had heard of the disasters that occurred at the Galas, where many beings, including Princess Celestia, were quite severely injured.
The faces of Rockhoof, Big Mac, and AJ all turned grave, and their gazes fell to the ground as they nodded to Meadowbrook, who said that the main reason she came to Canterlot, along with the Bearded, was to look for a spell, about which, Healthy Light the Kirin, had told them: but the spell was not for Celestia, however, as a special tonic, the origin of which, they knew not, managed to heal her.
Instead, the spell Light had told them about was meant to be used on themselves, as they had fallen unconscious after the second Gala, and they could not be woken up, not even with the tonic that had healed the other beings who had gotten hurt; luckily, there was one Kirin at the Gala at that time, Harvest Duran, who cast the spell, but still, nobody, not even Duran himself, knows how he cast it.
After he had woken up Light, the present group teleported back to Ponyville, where they met up with Rockhoof at a theme park located a short distance outside of town, where he was helping to excavate a collapsed tunnel, which trapped a number of beings within; but Meadowbrook stopped, and turned to Rockhoof, wearing a concerned look on her face, before he gave her a gentle smile and a solemn nod.
Though AJ and Big Mac were slightly confused, they said nothing as Meadowbrook breathed a deep sigh of relief, and she continued, telling them she split from the group, which had grown substantially, instead staying within the park to help treat any injured, and being prepared to help those who had been trapped, if they needed any medical assistance; but as the time went on, fear started to grow.
The group had been gone for a long time, when Harvest Duran arrived at the gates to the theme park, bearing a warning he had to deliver, leading to the Pillars accompanying him through the tunnels to the other end, with a couple of Guards; on their way, however, Rockhoof and Starswirl stayed in the tunnels, due to the latter's intent on research, while she and Harvest continued towards their end.
Eventually, they found themselves in a courtyard of stone, as they had ended up amidst the ruins of the Castle of the Two Sisters, deep in the Everfree Forest, whither the tunnels lead, but wherefore these tunnels led thither, they still know not; a powerful feeling hit them as they stepped inside, when a voice sounded out from somewhere else in the Castle, which they recognised as Light's voice.
They knew they needed to be careful as they made their way down a set of stairs that lead to a room filled with treasures, where they found the group sitting together, listening to Light reading from a book they knew not, about the Princesses and a Lord of old; only Light noticed when they entered, and quietly took a seat by the doors, while they continued to read the tragic tale within the book.
At that moment, Rockhoof chuckled and chimed in, telling them that while this was happening, in the tunnels that lead everyone there, he had just reached an impasse after a great fight with somepony, with whom he slowly staggered his way towards the exit to the Courtyard of stone, while the Bearded travelled ever deeper into those tunnels, finding the catalyst for everything following thereafter.
"Though he may not look like much, that Boomlord sure can pack a punch."

1 Oct, BOS @ BAL, 6-1, win
Bit late, eh? Yeah, it turns out I needed longer to recover from the Tim Wakefield news than I realised. And, truth be told, I still haven't recovered from it. It sucked all desire to write about this weird season as a whole. To pick out points of interest and excitement from a year that occasionally had promise but failed to live up to that promise. A team I nicknamed the Scrappy Rollercoasters before the injury-plagued rotation sucked out their scrap and the Rollercoaster never really stopped plummeting, especially after the departure of Chaim Bloom. How can I dwell on all that shit when all of the sudden Tim Wakefield isn't there anymore? I must've read every tribute and obit. I haven't been able to put the movie "Knuckleball" on because I'm worried it'll make me cry too much. Chad Finn at the Globe, as usual, wrote a brilliant piece imploring the Red Sox to retire Wake's number. I cast my mind back remembered his strong start in his last season whilst he was chasing his 200th win, only to stumble on the cusp. I remember how awesome it was when that knuckleball was 'on' - how fast he worked and how efficient he was. How he looked like a sad puppy when it didn't work, because there really wasn't anything he could do about it. It's a pitch from another era. That it exists in the modern world is a marvel and that such a nice and kind man wielded it as, more often than not, a tool for victory was a delight. I didn't believe the news when I first saw it. I didn't even know he was sick. I missed that bombshell coming out. It was harvest and I was making wine. Would it have made any difference if I'd had that day's notice? Or would it be worse, to have barely processed the news he was sick to then have to deal with the news he'd succumbed to that sickness and died? I've lost quite a few people over the last few years. I find it easier to articulate those feelings with regards to a kind baseball player I never met than with those that are gone that I knew.
Anyway. 2023 Red Sox. They won their last game of the year, which is great. That they "did it for Wake" feels a little weird but whatever worked for them. As much as the question is on who runs the Red Sox front office next year, I feel the real question is whether the ownership works out what they want from the team next year. They don't behave like an ownership terribly keen on continuing to own a baseball team. Which is frustrating because they have a manager who did everything in his power to get them through those tough spots this season. Cora does not get enough credit. The fact that he has detractors at all is proof that most Boston sports fans just want the world to burn rather than any actual success. But where do they go from here? Another losing season isn't on the cards. This ownership quite famously turns it around after, at most, two losing seasons. How they do it this time is anyone's guess.
Bright sides?
This team fought a lot this year. And the rookies like Jarren Duran (on loan from the Arakis Professional League) and Tristan Casas provided a great deal of fun.
Ugh thinking about Wake again. Might pipe up later once we know who's running the club. Until then, enjoy the playoffs and let's hope for a better 2024.

"Wait just an apple-pickin' minute!", Applejack shouted out, greatly startling both of the Pillars, before she asked Rockhoof to repeat what he said about Boomlord, and the fight in these underground tunnels, for not only did both of them appear to be completely alright, if it happened so recently, why were they now so close with one another that Rockhoof would allow Boomlord to ride on his back?
To this, Rockhoof chuckled nervously as he rubbed the back of his head, and told her that he gained a great deal of respect for the Green Unicorn, for it was clear they were equals in battle, though, he stopped AJ before she could interrupt him, and said they, too, travelled to the other end of the tunnels, and joined the group mere moments after Healthy Light had finished telling them the story.
Adding to this, Meadowbrook said he took out the same tonic that had healed Celestia and many other beings, and gave a few drops to Rockhoof after taking some himself, until just a few minutes later, both of them were healed of their bruises and fatigue; despite the fact that Harvest had managed to deliver his warning after Boom reappeared, he was no threat, so there was little cause for concern.
It was after they had all returned to the park, having travelled back through the tunnels, that the Bearded sprinted out of the tunnels, shouting erratically about a grand discovery he had made, away from the main hallway they followed between the Castle and the park; it took from the evening until the following morning before they figured out whither they needed to head next: the Crystal Empire.
But only moments later, Boomlord vanished, claiming he had other business to conduct elsewhere, and that he was not welcome in the Empire, leading to the Princesses, and the Kirin, heading thither by themselves, as the Pillars stayed in Ponyville; the following period of time was mostly uneventful, until just a few days ago, when Boom showed up again and asked Starswirl for a copy of his journal.
At that moment, Rockhoof gently put his hoof on Meadowbrook's shoulder, and shook his head, leading to her closing her eyes and taking a deep breath; though he saw the Pillars noticeably shiver, when they talked about Boom and Starswirl's journal, Big Mac said nothing, and only nodded discreetly to Rockhoof, who shyly turned away, before he glanced back, and nodded to the Red Stallion, in return.
After she cleared her throat, Meadowbrook continued, and admitted there was some strife between the two Unicorns for a while, yet, after she sent them out to cool down, they returned in agreement and understanding; now, they were waiting for the other Pillars, being Flash, Mistmane, and Somnambula, to arrive, as they would need their help with something, about which the Princesses had asked them.
There was a moment of silence, as AJ and Big Mac let everything sink in, when Apple Bloom and Spike walked past, headed towards the kitchen, not paying any mind to what the adults were talking about; then, AJ began to ask them whether she and her friends could help them, but Meadowbrook interrupted her and said no, as she and Rockhoof lowered their heads, before AJ could even finish her question.
Though they were genuinely grateful for her offer, this matter was in part related to business they first dealt with in a past age many eons ago, and unfortunately, though they would welcome the help of the Mane 6, only the Princesses and the Pillars could help, and Meadowbrook admitted to her that she knew not if they would succeed, especially if the plan, that Starswirl was formulating, failed.
The innocent, yet wholly oblivious voice of Spike spoke up from behind the couch, as he walked past with AB, asking the Pillars whether they were talking about Grim and the Spirit Realm, and the evil power he was fighting, which was why the others in the Empire had asked for help; the faces of both Meadowbrook and Rockhoof turned pale as Spike grew confused, whereafter he quietly asked the group:
"Was it something I said?"

Eco-Friendly Home Renovation Ideas
Eco-Friendly Home Renovation Ideas https://ift.tt/0Oyg4DW Are you embarking on a home renovation journey? How about infusing your space with eco-friendly vibes that enhance its aesthetic appeal and contribute to a sustainable future? Here are some fantastic ideas to make your home renovation project environmentally conscious. Install an energy-efficient lighting system Upgrade your home’s lighting system to energy-efficient alternatives such as LED or CFL bulbs. LED bulbs use less energy and last longer than traditional incandescent bulbs; significantly reducing your home’s energy consumption and saving you money on your energy bills. Invest in Solar Panels Installing solar panels and harnessing solar energy, significantly reduces your dependence on traditional energy sources. While this may require substantial investment initially, solar energy is a clean and renewable resource and can prove to be a rewarding green energy investment over time. Build Rainwater Harvesting Systems Try installing rainwater harvesting systems to collect and store rainwater for non-potable uses such as watering plants or flushing toilets. This sustainable practice helps conserve water resources and reduces reliance on municipal water supplies. Eco-Friendly Insulation Enhance your home’s energy efficiency by investing in eco-friendly insulation materials. Options like recycled denim, cellulose, or wool insulation not only provide excellent thermal performance but also contribute to reducing landfill waste. Go for low-VOC Paints Conventional paints release volatile organic compounds (VOCs) into the air, contributing to indoor air pollution. Opt for low-VOC or zero-VOC paints to minimize harmful emissions and create a healthier living environment. Green Roofing A green roof is a layer of vegetation planted over a waterproofing system installed on top of a flat or slightly sloped roof. This climate-proof construction provides a rainwater buffer, purifies the air, reduces ambient temperature, regulates indoor temperature, saves energy, and encourages biodiversity in urban areas. Although a green roof may not be suitable for every house, this roof style protects your home’s roofing material from the sun, rain, wind, and temperature fluctuations and doubles or triples the lifespan of your roof up to 60 years or longer. Sustainable Flooring Options While renovating your home, consider swapping out traditional flooring materials for eco-friendly alternatives. Bamboo, cork, and reclaimed wood are not only visually appealing but also renewable and sustainable choices that reduce the environmental impact of your renovation. Buy Energy-Efficient Appliances When upgrading your home’s appliances, choose energy-efficient models with high Energy Star ratings. These appliances consume less energy, reducing your carbon footprint and lowering utility bills in the long run.       The post Eco-Friendly Home Renovation Ideas first appeared on Daniel Duran Shelbyville | Real Estate. via Daniel Duran Shelbyville | Real Estate https://ift.tt/DlUtFB0 March 20, 2024 at 01:10PM
