Hakuoki Drama CD - Shimabara Disturbance Track 1 English translation
Happy new year everyone! I know it’s kinda late to be saying that... but whatever. Decided that I’ll only be translating track 1 this month and then not doing anything else until after February 22 since I need to study like 700 pages of text.... sorry but not really sorry? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (committing to writing my exam has cost me +$1000 so yeah.)
Anyway, in regards to the Hakuoki dramas that I wanted translated, this one probably ranked first or second, right next to Shinsengumi Oni-tan... but it was too much work to go look up the sections that were missing from the tl I found for the longest time.
As a warning, I HIGHLY ADVISE AGAINST READING THIS IF YOU HAVE NOT PLAYED THROUGH THE SHIMABARA INFILTRATION MISSION FROM ZUISOUROKU (specifically Saito’s route, and I’m going stress the fact that this is NOT my bias speaking, and that this is a recommendation being made based on the drama itself, though it should probably be fine if you’ve watched the Hakuoki Sekkaroku anime...? Probably? Well, assuming that’s the one where they go to Shimabara since there are some spoilers for it too?).

Hijikata: Thank you for all your hard work, Saito. It really was the right choice to leave capturing all the ronin at the inn to your Third Division.
Saito: Please don't say that, however, Vice-Commander, what is this money for?
Hijikata: It’s a bounty, a bonus for doing especially hard work.
Saito: But, I was merely accomplishing my duties as a member of the Shinsengumi. How can I accept a bounty for it? Furthermore, this is too much.
Hijikata: I knew you wouldn't accept it. Forget it, I don't want to force you into accepting it because I often send you on difficult missions. If I give you the occasional reward, you shouldn't decline, and just accept it.
Saito: I understand, then I'll gratefully accept it.
(Saito leaves the room and starts walking away)
Saito: A bounty...?
Saito: I can't betray the Vice-Commander's kindness, so I need to think about how to use this.... how should this best be used? Since there was so much of a bonus, it shouldn’t be spent all at once... In this case, exactly what should I do?
(sound of fighting from the dojo)
Saito: Hrm? It’s quite noisy in the dojo. is someone training the troops? I’ll go observe the situation..
Souji: No good, no good~ your sword is too slow, your footwork is sloppy [or steps taken are too small. reword later?], and there are weaknesses everywhere! There are too many flaws, so if you don't want to die, you better work harder.
Warrior: Yes...
Saito: Hrm.
Souji: Areh, Hajime-kun, when did you get there/here? What's wrong? You look like you have something to say.
Saito: You’re still conducting harsh training as always. It’s fine if you train the troops, but there’s no point in causing injuries before they can become more useful. .
Souji: Is that so? I’m already very gentle~. If this sort of attack killed someone, they'd immediately get cut down in real combat when fighting ronin~
Saito: Although that's true...
Souji: Anyway, would Hajime-kun like to have a match with me? That just now wasn't training for me. I'd be very happy if you were my opponent.
Saito: No, my apologies, but I have something I need to think about.
Souji: What's wrong? You aren’t speaking clearly.
Saito: I have abrupt question for you, Souji.
Souji: It's rare for Hajime-kun to consult me. What is it?
Saito: If you were suddenly given a lot of money, how would you use it?
Souji: Me? In that case... I'd buy some candy and share/eat with the kids living nearby.
Saito: Ah.... I see....
Souji: Isn't it rude to sigh/seem so disappointed after hearing someone else's answer? Speaking of which, did you receive a lot of money again?
Saito: Well....
Souji: That's why you should use it and not worry about it. It’s a luxury to worry about how to spend money.
Saito:.....
Souji: Just spend it however you want. Dignity and standards don't matter, regardless if that's in the eyes of Hijikata-san or anyone else.
Saito: If I was able to do what you suggested, I wouldn't have asked you.
Souji: Seriously? Hajime-kun, you really have no desires...
Saito: It’s true that I have no desires for material things.
Souji: I think it’s just that you’re not materialistic. Well, my opinions won’t matter anyway. Besides snacks, all I can think about are the caltrops I bought and scattered in Hijikata-san’s room.
Saito:....I’ll head back to my room to think about it again. Excuse me then, Souji.
(Saito walks away)
Souji: Huh... it’s a problem too be so rigid.

Saito: Then, what should I be doing? There’s nothing I need to buy right away, and I don’t want to spend money on food and drink either...
(sound of running then a door slides open)
Shinpachi: Yo, Saito! Excuse me!
Saito: Shinpachi? Sano and Heisuke, what’s wrong?
Harada: Hehe, I heard about it, Saito. You received a large bonus, right?
Saito: That is the case. Why do you know that?
Shinpachi: Well, in any case, that doesn’t matter right? You're so serious, so even if you got a huge sum of money, you probably wouldn't know how to spent it, right? We just came over to give you some ideas!
Heisuke: Hajime-kun, how is that going? Have you made a decision on how to spend it?
Saito: No, not yet.
Harada: Let me ask you first, is there something that you want?
Saito: There's nothing I want in particular.
Shinpachi: If it's like that, then just go to Shimabara!
Saito: Shimabara?
Shinpachi: That’s right! Enjoy the company of geishas is the way to go, right?!
Saito: I'm sorry, I'm not interested.
Harada: Well, Saito is the same as always. What about getting a new katana?
Saito: Unfortunately, the blade was sharpened recently, and it is a Kunishige...
Heisuke: Ah~ I get it, I get it! Speaking of which, does Hajime-kun have any interests?
Saito: An interest? Why are you suddenly asking me this?
Heisuke: Generally speaking, people spend money on the things they like. I've never seen Hajime-kun spend money on his own interests.
Harada: That’s true. Do you have one?
Saito: An interest...? I appreciate katana and other things...
Sano: No need to continue, I get it.
Heisuke: That’s right... even when he has time off, Hajime-kun is still working...
Harada: This is a rare opportunity. Why don't you try something that you haven't done before?
Saito: Haven’t tried before?
Harada: For example... reciting haiku like HIjikata-san.
Shinpachi: That's true... you'd be very suitable to reciting haiku. So if you were doing that with HIjikata-san, it'd go like...

Hijikata: It's become warmer,
more recently it feels that,
spring's finally sprung. [yeah that matches the 5-7-5 stanza haiku syllable count... why the hell did I try to match that?]
How about it, Saito? Try composing a haiku about spring.
Saito: Yes.
The warbler is perched [more literally it’s on a branch... but w/e]
It chirps again and again
It cries are ceaseless
Hijikata: Oh~ that wasn’t bad! Although it's very straightforward, it's very easy to understand.
Saito: I’m honoured to receive your praise. I will continue to improve from now on.
Hijikata:Ooh, the journey to learning haiku is long and hard, do your best.

Shinpachi: No, it shouldn’t be like that...
Harada: No, not like that.
Heisuke: Anyway, it doesn’t cost money to compose haiku. At most, he could buy a few collections.
Harada: That’s right, the purpose is to spend money.
Shinpachi: So, what about buying some delicious food? We could find out which store has the best dango and eat them all one by one.
Harada: Why don’t you replace the dango with something more expensive? Like with sake to go drink.
Saito: Go drink?

Owner: I'm terribly sorry, that was all the sake in the establishment
Saito: No, wait, the sake on the shelf over there hasn't been served yet.
Owner: Th-That's not for sale. It's a specialty sake from my hometown.
Serve it. I won't stop drinking until I have all the sake in the store. If you don't serve it...
(unsheathes blade)
Owner: Th-That sort of thing...Please wait! Okyakusama! Okyakusama..!

Shinpachi: Is going out for sake supposed to be like that?
Harada: No, it isn’t.
Heisuke: Furthermore, that's what Sano-san wants to do right?
Harada: Then what ideas would you propose, Heisuke?
Heisuke: Eh: In... in that case... a show house [ 見世物小屋 is the word here in Japanese... Wikipedia says the term “freak show” is used overseas. had to get the audio as text because I wasn’t sure of the word I had used originally].?
Shinpachi: A show house? It's true that tickets are expensive so that might not be bad...
~~~[imagination sequence]~~~
(crowd going ooh)
Saito: Come one, come all Regardless of how ridiculous the order is, I will obey it without fail. I am the legendary dog with a human face [or human dog... I guess].
(crowd clamor)
Saito: Vice-Commander, please immediately give me an order.
HIjikata: Saito! Apprehend Souji, who scattered caltrops around my room!
Saito: Understood! No, wan! Dog with a human face, going forth!
(crowd clamor)

Heisuke: Why is Hajime-kun working for the show house? That would be for making money, not spending it!
Harada: And isn’t the dog with a human face just like the usual Saito? He’s someone who called a human with dog like traits.
Shinpachi: But with so many options, there should be something you're interested in. How about it, Saito?
Saito: No, I’m sorry, but I can’t accept any of these proposals you’ve given.
Harada: Well, that’s how it is.
Shinpachi: Sure enough, it’ll just be going to Shimabara. Occasionally, you do go drinking together with us!
Harada: Can't you say anything else? He said it already that he wasn't interested.
Saito: But, it might not be bad to spend this money on someone else. I'll need to think this over again.
Heisuke: For someone else...?
Saito: Heisuke, what is it?
Heisuke: Eh? Ah, it’s nothing!
Harada: Then, we’ll take our leave now.
Shinpachi: Tell us when you figure out how to use it! If you decided on going to Shimabara, I'll approve of that!
(door slides open, Shinpachi and Harada leave)
Heisuke: Then, I’ll be going too.
Saito: Wait, Heisuke. What was it that you were going to say? Your expression is strange.
Heisuke: No, I was just a bit envious of Hajime-kun.
Saito: Envious?
Heisuke: If I had a lot of money, I would give Chizuru a beautiful kimono.
Saito: A beautiful kimono... like the clothes she wore when she infiltrated Shimabara?
Heisuke: That’s right, Chizuru was so cute then... No, uh, she was very happy!
Saito: Yukimura at that time... The day I infiltrated Shimabara, Yukimura, who had been disguised by Osen, seemed shy to show herself. I probably won't ever forget how she looked then. Her appearance wasn't changed at all, she simply wore a beautiful kimono, combed her hair, put on some hair pins and make-up, that's all it was. I couldn't even look directly at her. That's how beautiful Yukimura had become then...
Heisuke: Hajime-kun! Hajime-kun! Hey Hajime-kun!
Saito: Uh.... Ah! What is it, Heisuke?
Heisuke: What are you doing? Why are you suddenly dazed?
Saito: No, it’s nothing. Sorry, what did you say?
Heisuke: I was just talking about giving Chizuru a beautiful kimono to wear! But that's impossible. How would hear wearing a woman's kimono be allowed at headquarters?
Saito: Nn, that’s right.
Heisuke: Kodo-san is still missing, so I really want to do something that will help cheer her up.
Saito: Is Yukimura very depressed?
Heisuke: It's not like that, but she might be forcing herself to smile.
Saito: That’s right...
Heisuke: I really want to do something for her.
Saito: Ah...... But would she want to wear a woman’s kimono again? Or is it that I want to see her dressed up like that again? No, even though she’s usually wearing men’s clothing, it’s to be expected for her to want to dress up a woman. No, but...
Heisuke: Hajime-kun. Hajime-kun. Hey~ Hajime-kun! Hah... he’s like this again... would it be better to just leave him be for a while?

Wow have not checked Tumblr in 7 years. Shocking.
Mostly here because I majorly revived my obsession with Sannan Keisuke of Hakuoki fame (or infamy depending on who you ask). Since Hakuoki Kyoto Winds / Edo Blossoms came out on Steam, I have played Sannan's route exclusively because 1) it breaks my heart too much to see him villainized, and 2) it kinda makes me feel like I'm cheating on him to play other routes? Haha, I'm a dork.
I've also recently started rewatching the Shinsengumi! Taiga drama and can't help but lament how we can't use the Ochimizu to save all those tragic young men from their inevitable fates.
(Somewhat spoiler I guess? For both Hakuoki Sannan route and Shinsengumi! live action taiga drama)
Honestly, the fleeting yet impactful existence of the Shinsengumi is a fitting setting for an otome game where the love interests can become vampires instead of dying as they do in history.
One thing that rather interested me is that I found out there is a historical precedence for Sannan's arm injury that leads him to be the first member of the Shinsengumi to imbibe the Water of Life.

Before reading about it, I assumed his more widely accepted fate in history (that he broke the Shinsengumi's laws by leaving due to his moral objection to their shifting ideologies and increasingly ruthless methods, got caught in the act, and was forced to commit seppuku by Hijikata) was the true one.
Guess who is on my phone's lock screen now? (Too bad HakuMyu doesn't do Sannan's route...)

Sengoku Warlords Live Again in MAGATSUNOTE Media Mix Project
Back in January, media mix project MAGATSUNOTE kicked off as a web manga, promising a big reveal 55 days after its beginning. The big reveal has come: the project is branching out into a website, music, and much more.
The project features a scenario by Corpse Party creator Makoto Kedōin, and character designs by Hakuoki and Hiiro no Kakera's Kazuki Yone. The story takes place in the year 2222, 200 years after a meteorite has hit Earth and destroyed 90% of human civilization. ARK, the agency devoted to protecting and revitalizing humanity, is abusing its powers to benefit a privileged few. In response, warlords — with the same "epitaphs" as great Sengoku-era warlords — rise up in protest, wielding demonic powers.
MAGATSUNOTE Season:1 will consist of radio dramas and newly composed songs, featuring 13 characters across five groups. Each group will also have its own musical group handling its respective songs:

SOUMA-HEN 2021 CAST
Hi, humans and oni, all fans of Hakumyu!
Since Souma-hen is a thing again I’ve recovered my original cast announcement post and updated it. The info about the actors is a mix between what I’ve found about them and info from the official cast page, but I haven’t included every past myu/stage play in the official info, so I’d recommend checking it if you’re interested in seeing more of any of these people.
Without further ado, I present you the official cast for the 2021 version of Musical Hakuoki Souma-hen:
Mizuki Umetsu (梅津瑞樹) is Kazue Souma
28 years old, his Twitter is @MizukiUmetsu, and he’s been in Musical Touken Ranbu and the Sanrio Boys stage play .
Risa Matsuzaki (松崎莉沙) is Chizuru Yukimura
She’s a member of Roys, a Japanese female duo chorus group. Playing Chizuru in this myu will be her first time as an actress. Her Twitter is @risadegozaimasu and she’s 24 years old.
Hidetoshi Kubota (久保田秀敏) is Toshizo Hijikata
Has worked in films and dramas before, also has myu/stage play experience (Sengoku Basara stage play , Moriarty the Patriot myu, etc.). He’s 33 years old and his Twitter is @kubotahidetoshi.
Shuji Kikuchi (菊池修司) is Souji Okita
First difference with the 2020 cast! Shuji Kikuchi replaces Shogo Yamazaki, who first appeared in Hakumyu in Shitan Hijikata-hen. He’s 25 and his Twiiter is @kutisyu. He’s been in some stage plays before, like the Pirates of the Frontier UtaPri stage play .
Shoichiro Oomi (大海将一郎) is Hajime Saito
His Twitter is @shoichiro_oomi. The protagonist/”your” character in the Fate/GO Babylonia Myu, also has some experience as a seiyuu (in fact google doesn’t list him as an actor but as a voice actor) and is/was in a group called "Hi! Superb"
Yuta Higuchi (樋口裕太) is back as Heisuke Todou!
His first Hakumyu was Shitan Hijikata-hen! He is 25 and he won a Junon Superboy contest (Most Photogenic) and according to Anime on Stage he’s been in other myus/stage plays, like Ensemble Stars and Yona of the Dawn. According to the cast page he’s been in Ao no Exorcist and Hitman Reborn stage plays too. His Twitter is @higuchi24yuta.
Ryousuke Koike (小池亮介) is Nagakura Shinpachi
Second change in the cast, he’s replacing Yuta Kishimoto, who was Nagakura in both Shitan Hijikata-hen and Shitan Kazama-hen. He’s 25 and his Twitter is @ryosuke19951117. He was Akito/Agito in the Air Gear myu, and according to the cast page he wants everyone to think that Nagakura Shinpachi is cool (literally, 「永倉新八カッコいいな」kakkoii and everything)
Shouta Kawakami (川上将大) is Sanosuke Harada
He’s been in Tenimyu, Rice on stage, Hitman Reborn and Touken Ranbu stages/myus, among others. He’s 27 and his Twitter is @rjpmission. An anecdote: a few weeks ago someone I follow on Twitter went to see Rice on stage and he was one of the actors performing, which made me wonder if Souma-hen would happen since people from the cast were working on other things and I supposed that meant the situation in Japan was good enough to resume events like stage plays, included those that had been cancelled.
Teruma (輝馬) is back as Keisuke Sannan!
Sannan since Hakumyu Reimeiroku, he’s been in Kuromyu (William T Spears), Bungou Stray Dogs stage play, the Nanatsu no Taizai stage play and Tenimyu. His Twitter is @teruma_060 and he’s 31.
This makes me really happy! I still prefer Ryosuke Mikata, but he’s showed that he deserves the role, so I hope he stays in Hakumyu for many years to come! And I’m still mad that Teruma wasn’t in the Tango on the Campania Kuromyu...
Taizo Shiina (椎名鯛造) is back as Susumu Yamazaki!
First appeared in Shitan Hijikata-hen, and he’s been in some Sengoku Basara and Danganronpa stage plays, among others. He’s 34 and his Twitter is @TaizoShiina.
Taira Imata (井俣太良) is back as Isami Kondou!!!
Best dad since Okita-hen (second Hakumyu) and by this point, everyone’s senpai, what else can be said about this man??? If you’ve watched any Hakumyu other than Saito-hen, you already know him. Great man and actor, he’s 45 and his Twitter is @TAIRANT1975.
These are the characters/actors & actress that I covered in my first Souma-hen cast post. I actually wrote another one with the rest of the cast, but thanks to a broken mouse the whole post got deleted when it was almost finished. Time to redeem myself!
Syuya Sunagawa (砂川脩弥) is Saburo Miki!
Replacing Allen Kohatsu in the role of Miki, he’s 26 and his Twitter is @suna_syu_. It’s his first time in a musical, but he’s in the Kamen Rider Zero One drama. According to the Kamen Rider Wikia, he won the Avex Boys Award in 2016.
Masashi Sonomura (園村将司) is Risaburo Nomura!
He’s 22 and he’s @masashisonomura on Twitter. He’s been in Tenimyu and has done some stuff on TV (the cast page lists some things but I’m not familiar with them ;_;)
Masafumi Yokoyama (横山真史) is Kyuju Amagiri!

Takuma Sueno (末野卓磨) is back as Kyo Shiranui!
He’s 36 and he’s @sueno0724 on Twitter. His first Hakumyu was Shitan Kazama hen. Has been in the Sengoku Basara stage play and the Rantaro Shinobu myu (this one wasn’t that long ago so I remember seen funny pics of this on Twitter).
Hiroyuki Kawamoto (川本裕之) is back as Kodo Yukimura!
Egg dad since the times of Harada hen, he doesn’t have a Twitter account and apparently there isn’t that much info about him on Google D:
And... drum roll a big round of applause for our returning demon, the original, the one and only, SHOGO SUZUKI (鈴木勝吾) AS CHIKAGE KAZAMA!!!
I already spoiled this in my Souma-hen is back post but I’m sooooooooooooooo happy to see him back. He’s @Shogo_Suzuki_ on Twitter (where he’s posted photos of his Hakumyu-watching sessions more than once),he’s 31 and he played Kazama from the very beginning in Saito-hen until Live 2. During his absence from Hakumyu he didn’t stop acting, some of you may remember my post about his appearance in the Moriarty the Patriot myu.
Not that I dislike Yoshihide Sasaki (Hijikata in Reimei, and Kazama in Harada-hen and the 2020 Souma-hen cast), but I will always see him as my dear Viscount Druitt from Kuromyu. And let’s be honest, Shogo has his “own brand” of Kazama. He took the character and made it his own, having a unique way of portraying him and enjoying every last bit of it.
And that was the complete main cast! This time we had all the info from the start so I don’t think a follow-up post will be necessary.
As an ending note, I would like to dedicate this post to Serizawa’s actor, Akira Kubodera, who passed away last month. I’m sure he would love to see that everyone has been hoping for Souma-hen to return and that the Hakuoki Shinsengumi, or at least its spirit, can’t be defeated.

Introduce Otogelib! A new otome game translation community project
Hi there, Reishiki, leader of Otogetranslations here.
I started this group in October last year to gather translators to work on Collar x Malice Unlimited, I didn’t think it would grow this much from a small group of <5 people to a... group of >20 people. A lot happened but I’m glad to have a loving group of translators/members that always trust in me and help me get through all the drama and stress I have when maintaining this group.
I know I decided to stop after Diabolik Lovers Limited V Edition English patch accident, but I thought it’s a bit unfair for you, for us, that we wasted all our efforts of hacking/managing/translating stuff. So I think of a new project that can live only with community support. I’m not the leader of this project, but you guys—the community is. In that sense, I stopped, but the community didn’t.
So, what’s our new project?
A Public otome game translations library at https://otogelib.tumblr.com/ which everyone can view the text translation, seeing translation progress in real-time, and anyone can apply as a translator/proofreader. You can view/edit spreadsheets anywhere with an internet connection and a mobile device. And basically, you can translate any sentence/route you want without being afraid that someone already worked on it.
That’s @otogelib! The library is still growing, so if you have friends that interested in helping, please reblog/share/retweet this. After all, this project only can survive with community support :).
This project is the last thing I can do for the otome community. That is providing scripts for you guys to translate in the most comfortable way, or to practice reading/translating Japanese, to have a way to learn Japanese that you guys can enjoy, and help other otome lovers in the progress. :)
When a game is completed translating, I might make patches for people who bought the game. Otherwise, you can just play the game and read along. :)

♦ 1) How did you discover your f/o’s content?
♢ I was out of playing Hakuoki and had recently discovered Drama CDs, since Saito Hajime was my favorite character I looked for CDs where the VA was Toriumi Kousuke, which made me stumble upon Diabolik Lovers! (Shu’s VA)
I was introduced to DL through the first CDs that came out for it!
♦ 4) Who was your first favorite character when you initially got into your f/o’s source content? was it your f/o from the very beginning?
♢ Because of my bias when I first found the CDs, my favorite character was Shu and I refused to believe I was actually starting to fall for his bitch of a little brother!!! Looking at it now it’s really funny, because I spent most of my time crying and battling with the fact that I wouldn’t be able to draw Reiji properly... not ever bothering about how I drew Shu lol!
I think one could say Reiji and I have a lot in common... denying our feelings is a big one lol.
♦ 7) Are there any specific scenes/chapters/moments of your f/o that you find yourself going back to revisit more often than any other?
♢ Track 8 of Reiji vs Kanato, my soul started to leave my body because of the bloodsucking and Reiji brings me back to my senses with kisses... what can I say? I loved that, revive me with kisses anytime, Reiji.
♦ 14) What’s your favorite outfit your f/o has ever worn?
♢ I don’t follow whatever is going on with the series nowadays but sometimes I do see the images and D U D E, wintery-ish military outfit? I’M SO INTO IT.
♦ 15) Do you own any merchandise from your f/o’s source content? what is it?
♢ From everything in the pictures, one and half of the mini Reijis and both artbooks are the only things I bought. The rest were gifts from friends that, due to life, are not my friends anymore. If it wasn’t for them I’d probably just have mini Reijis! (I want to have 7 of them eventually!)
I don’t really think owning merch has any value, of course, having my room filled with Reiji brings a sense of peace I can’t describe, but it’s the tiny Reijis that I can’t live without. When I don’t spend the night at home, I begin missing them badly... I hug them every night... but because they’re 3, sometimes one or two of them end up falling TT_TT I always pick them up in a panic.
They’re the connection between the real world and my world with him, so I treasure them.

Hakuoki Souji Monologue
Sorry this is a day late, but I got carsick yesterday in the evening... so I ended up not translating last night just because of how nauseous I felt. The only time that doesn't happen apparently is when I'm in a car after getting off a plane... which makes driving and sitting in a car for more than 20 minutes a real pain in the ass as this happens all the time.
Also, I forgot to mention this, but I've got raws of two of the 15th anniversary short stories that were published in the latest B's Logs. The first is with Heisuke, Harada and Shinpachi, while the second is with Sannan, Sakamoto and Yamazaki…. if anyone's interested in translating them, dm me, though know that I only provide raws for this type of content on a a first come, first serve basis.
Anyway, I ended up choosing one of the old monologues to translate this week cause I'm pretty busy right now... next week I plan on translating a Halloween SSL story, though I don't know where it came from.

Come sit here for a while, come here, sit next to me. I like loving like the sky like this. Just like that, I keep chasing the fleeting clouds with my eyes. The sound of the wind rustling the leaves, the smell of greenery. The cool sounds of the bubbling stream. Feeling all of these feels somewhat natural for me. What's with that expression, do you want me to say that it's surprising, that's a bit rude, isn't it.
Hahaha, just kidding, you always react so honestly, so I can't help but want to tease you. What were we talking about, ah yes, the sky, when I look at the sky, I feel that everything won't stay the way it is. Under such a sky, no matter how much I struggle, everything will disappear like the clouds.
In the past, my job was to kill people, and if necessary, it didn't matter if I died. All I wanted to do was do something for Kondou-san, but that was it. But now that my body has become like this, all of my hopes have vanished. I didn't want to admit it, but I wanted a new strength. You know why. In the end, the shadow of this deadly disease still hasn't been removed from my body. Look, it's really something that can't be helped.
Ah, you have that expression again, but there's nothing I can do about it, right? Humans will inevitably die someday, the only difference is if the dying will happen sooner or later. The people I killed probably wanted to live longer. It'd be too convenient if I, who had taken the lives of others, could escape from the shadow of death.
That's why it's fine. I know that's the way it is. Why am I talking to you about this? It's because I want to tell you about what I like/one of my favourite things.
Perhaps from today onwards, when you look up at the sky again, you'll think of me and remember what I said.
So long as you're still living under this sky, you will never forget me. In a sense, this can be considered a cruel gift that I am giving you.
Hahaha, is that what you hope for? Thank you for saying that. But, it's not like I'm going to suddenly die today, so there's still time.
During this time, I'll tell you many stories so you won't forget me.... while we look up at the sky like this.

Ah it was so hard to choose 10 different fandoms considering my most favorites are usually in the same fandom 🥺
1. Carla Tsukinami (Diabolik Lovers)
(My favorite character ever, the one true love of my life, my husband, my everything. He is my soulmate, I swear. I can’t wait to get more tattoos dedicated to him ♥️) I bury myself in merch of Carla everyday. He is perfection and I don’t give a damn if people think I’m crazy because of this obsession I have...this should be the least of their worries when it comes to me.
2. Camus (Uta no Prince-sama)
(My second favorite character ever. On Shining Live I have a bond of over 800 with him, and I am very proud. I have spent more money on this man than anything else and he still refuses to come home sometimes. He has robbed me of everything but I still love him. This icy cold count will always have a special place in my heart...not like I can abandon him after spending over $1,500 on Shining Live within the past 2 years...yes, I know, it’s insane. But my luck on gacha is horrible. This might sound really fucking petty of me but please don’t come crying to me when Camus doesn’t come home to you after you saved up all of your prisms for so long and haven’t spent a single penny on this game, when I’ve spent $600 on the Setsugetsuka photoshoot, and $300 on the Police Officer one, and he still never came home. I’m sorry but I can’t comfort you. And I don’t feel bad.) He is the second character that I have the most merch of...and I cherish it even though I feel betrayed by him sometimes lol. I will never stop loving him.)
3. Ukyo (Amnesia)
(Oh my heart, this poor man who I love so much...he deserves the world. I’ve played and watched Amnesia well over 10 times and still cry every damn time. There is no one who loves anyone more than Ukyo loves the heroine...I still love him after he developed severe PTSD turning into a Split Personality who is crazy...he still deserves everything. He has the biggest heart and I will always admire him. He is precious.)
4. Toshizo Hijikata (Hakuoki)
(One of my first anime boy loves and obsessions. He was my first dakimakura pillow and Hakuoki is one of the first otome games I had played. I traveled across the country to go to the Hakuoki fest and it was amazing. Hakuoki and Toshi will always mean a lot to me.)
5. Jakurai Jinguji (Hypnosis Mic)
(My first Hypnosis Mic crush even though I truly love all of them except Ramuda even though he comes home to me in the game constantly just to taunt me. I created a second account just to get the Jakurai SSR. I have loved Hypnosis Mic since it first came out and love to see the franchise keep growing, I was super excited for the game that me and a lot of others had waited over a year to finally come out. And now I’m excited for the anime! I love Jakurai’s character and personality and voice. I love the things he says and is really inspirational. There are so many times I’ve listen to him rap in the first Matenro drama CD where he tries to convince the girl not to commit suicide...his words have saved me countless times. He is a character I have such a deep appreciation for.)
6. Rin Matsuoka (Free!)
(Another one of my first real hardcore obsessions with an anime boy. I have all the figures of him and they are some of my prized possessions, especially the one of him with the water guns. Another character I deeply admire and look up to. I strive to be as an amazing friend as he is...I empathize with his past and really care for him. I love him, I really do.)
7. Vil Schoenheit (Twisted Wonderland)
(A fairly newer character compared to the rest of them but I’ve been obsessed since they first showed a picture of him in one of the teasers from last year. I love almost all of the characters in TW very, very much but Vil has my heart. As someone who is insecure but obsessed with beauty for most of my life due to being bullied, and as the makeup artist I am now, I admire his dedication and care. His dorm Pomefiore is the next episode and I am SO EXCITED. I really think he is the one who will overblot and he is going to look so fucking beautiful. I can’t wait until they make an SSR card of him...another game I also have 2 accounts on.)
8. Hikaru Osari (B-Project)
(One character I absolutely adore who has a personality that I usually don’t take interest in. He has such a big heart and will literally do anything to protect his friends. Although, when the other members of MooNs tease him sometimes, I feel so so bad for him and just want to protect him and his precious self. He deserves the best and I love him a lot.)
9. Uta (Tokyo Ghoul)
(My favorite Tokyo Ghoul character, his style is so similar to mine so I instantly took a liking to him. We have many of the same piercings and both have tattoos and little eyebrows lol. Since he is also a type of artist, I also have that in common with him. He is a man I would totally fall in love with who matches my aesthetic. Some of his quotes are really meaningful as well which I also love about him.)
10. Undertaker (Black Butler)
(A character I fell in love with even before I knew he had such a sexy face. My favorite Kuroshitsuji character from the beginning...especially when I saw him in that bucket of salt just sticking his tongue out and licking it. I was like “LOL IT’S ME.” He is hilarious and in Book Of Atlantic they finally showed his face and his darker side and I knew from that point on that I fell hard for him. His and the other reaper’s backstories I really connected with and understood. He is still very mysterious and much is unknown, but I know whatever more I find out, I will only love him more.)
I apologize for my rant, especially about Camus...I don’t mean to offend anyone on SL. I’m just bitter lol.

Synopsis:
“In 1864 Japan, a young woman named Chizuru Yukimura is searching for her missing father, Koudou, a doctor by trade whose work often takes him far from home. But with no word from him in months, Chizuru disguises herself as a man and heads to Kyoto in search of him. Attracting the attention of ronin, she tries to hide and ends up witnessing a horrifying sight: the ronin being brutally murdered by crazed white-haired men. In a startling turn of events, members of the Shinsengumi arrive to dispatch the creatures. But Chizuru's safety doesn't last long, as this group of men tie her up and take her back to their headquarters, unsure of whether to let her live or silence her permanently.

So, hey! I’m alive. Doing different things right now, obviously, but I thought it wasn’t a bad time to do a personal update here.
1. Fun fact: I was supposed to be traveling to America later this year and see Hamilton in New York! I even planned to make a post here asking for tips on what to check out during our stay there and in Boston. That, uh, obviously is no longer currently happening. I’d still like to do this someday, though. (My one spot of luck is that the pre-order tickets never QUITE reached the week we were supposed to be there so I didn’t have to cancel or return anything.)
2. Hamilton is coming to Australia next year!! It’s still interstate for me, of course, but I’m definitely planning a weekend trip with my friends! This was announced after the America trip, so it was kind of a ‘welp, guess we’re getting a year early preview’ sorta thing, but I was definitely happy to see it either way! I’m still really looking forward to this, too - I can’t wait to see how the casting is done with Austraian demographics.
3. And after all of that, we’ve got a film. Part of me wants to kind of be like ‘soooo I could’ve just watched the bootleg all along, right? Since I have still never been physically capable of seeing it in person?’ But that’s mean spirited. I’m sure the film is WORLDS away from a shaky bootleg. I’m seeing it with my family this afternoon and we’re making a whole event out of it - mac and cheese, corn chowder, whoopie pies... who knows how ‘authentic’ any of it is, but it feels celebratorily relevant enough for us Aussies! And seriously, I’m really excited to finally get to see the choreography and the like that people have raved about as much as the lyrics and music!
4. My new fandom is NOT relevant to this blog at and honestly I’d kinda prefer not to cross the streams, hahah. But I do have something of a rec: I’ve been reading through the visual novel Hakuoki recently, which is set in the late 1800s in Japan and tells the story of the Shinsengumi from their early days to their tragic ending, and my god was it a burst of nostalgia. It’s infamous for being more dry historical drama than romance, but the barracks atmosphere and interest in minutiae around specific battles and injuries and highly setting-specific politics could only warm my heart fondly. It’s actually really good from what I’ve read so far, and I’ve recommend to anyone who enjoyed Amrev RPF! (...though DO be aware that there are vampires, too. Just in case that’s a deal-breaker.) It goes on sale for 70% off each Steam sale, of which there is on right now, so check it out if you’re interested.
5. No, I never finished the NaNoWriMo fic. :( Sorry. I never got to properly fix up the ending, and while I’d comfortably put up the rest of it as-is, the ending is just so shaky and unsatisfying right now that I don’t... want to. I’ll try to make my mind up, though. One of the ways I justified starting it to myself was by saying that if I was ever sure I wouldn’t finish it, I’d post it incomplete. At this point, I really ought to be able to either just make a push and try to at least somewhat improve the ending or fulfil my promise to myself. welp. Maybe I’ll give myself til the end of July as a deadline to at least decide either way.
Anyway, that’s about all I have to say right now. I hope all of you are doing well and I definitely miss coming here to this blog, heh. It’s still something very important to my heart! If I never post another personal post here again, I wish you all the best and hope you all have wonderful lives! <3

I know I’ve said it before, but: Non-fantasy, non-magic, non-medieval Historical AUs. I love European history, particularly anything that’s made into historical fiction, a TV drama, or a costume/period piece film. Magic and fantasy just aren’t my cups of tea when it comes to RP (some urban fantasy aside. Mostly because I wrote in the Harry Potter fandom for a long, long time and I’m burned out on it), but something from the 16th Century onward, and in particular, 18th Century to early 20th? YES. Rococo, Regency, and various periods of the Victorian era I absolutely love. Partly why I gravitate to Hakuoki and Code: Realize AUs: even though there’s supernatural elements in them and it’s not exactly period-accurate, it’s a start.
And since I’ve been digging through my old tags and aesthetics recently: Sonia’s talentswap!AU. This is very much for muns who don’t mind a giant departure from canon, but I love my Ultimate Mafia Boss girl.
Finally, I’ve been very interested in AUs, or just storylines, I’ve lifted from books or TV shows that I’ve yet to write. I’d love to write a ship storyline where an adult Sonia is supposed to be getting married in a grand, over-the-top royal wedding and her intended spouse never shows up. She’s likely convinced herself that she’s in love with them as they’re the ideal choice for her family and her country, but behind the scenes they either never wanted to go through with it or even better, they’re part of a conspiracy plot to overthrow the Novoselic Royal Family. She ends up being assisted (or rather, targeted) by a muse completely unfit to be a royal (or so she thinks) to uncover why she was really disgraced on her wedding day. Bonus for having to live in relative seclusion for months until the press dies down, because clearly: let’s blame the future monarch for her ruined wedding (For more, check out the book The Royal Runaway, where this plot is lifted from!).
I’d also like to write a storyline where her father passes away unexpectedly outside of a post neo world program verse. It would be a very different atmosphere of Sonia assuming the throne far earlier than she was ever supposed to, but it would change her life instantly as well as her various friendships and relationships/love interests. This would probably be in her university or adult verses (I’m less interested in writing this in high school, tbh. Her mother would be regent until she turned 18 and that’s...not wise).

A Quick Checklist on Self Exploration

I will write things here in order not to spam your Twitter Timeline too much.
1. First of all, introduce yourself! What’s your name?
My name is Runa. People usually call me by that name, but some others call me Ruru, Na-chan, some call me by the name of Xiao Wei and some other more.
2. Where are you from?
From this universe; specifically, my mother’s womb.
3. Do you have any hobbies? If so, which one?
I have plenty of things that I could call as my hobbies.
I do music, specifically piano, but lately I’m trying out some other instrument as well, like kalimba/ ukulele. I like to write stories/ letters to friends/ daily journal, I like to re-arranged my room when I got the mood and time to do it, I love to watch some movies/ series and read stories/ manga as well.
4. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where will you go?
Hhm...Lemme see...I think I would love to go to Tasmania.
I personally loves to go to those minor places that people are not really put an eye to. Rather than going to those mainstream places. Partially, I want to go to Tasmania ever since I watch a Singapore drama series [Sudden] and part of the scenery in that series was taken at Tasmania. It makes me want to go there and visit the real place someday.
5. Do you believe in love at the first sight?
Hmm...Not really, actually. Maybe because I’m a person who usually fall in love after I have interacted with the person for quite some time. Maybe because I rarely deeply attracted with how someone’s physical looks, but more into the personality they have within them.
6. What’s your favourite song at the moment? If you don’t have one, what’s the last song you listened to?
I’m listening to quite a lot of Hiroyuki Sawano’s composed OST songs these days lately and also currently re-listen to Rachmaninoff piano concerto in C minor.
7. What’s your favourite food?
A lot (?) But mostly I love those salty food rather than sweet stuffs.
8. What’s the first thing you think of when you wake up in the morning?
It is either I’m trying to remember about the dream I dream of last night, or I feel grateful that I’m still be able to stay alive today. Sometimes, I could think of some random stuffs that suddenly struck me when I’m awake in the morning.
9. Do you believe in soulmates?
Not really, but I believe that people are attracting people with the same/ similar frequencies with them, so if I want to see how my future soulmates is, I just need to mirror on myself and see how I’m living my life so far and how’s my true personality is.

Hmm...I currently have a fiance. Does this count as one?

Write a letter and prepare parting gift for everyone. Have a good talk and convey everything that I would love to tell to my beloved dearest people surround me.

Bathroom, because it gives you privacy though you are surrounded by people. I mean, it’s rare to see other people following you into bathroom right? So the sense of personal space is there in the bathroom. At least, for me personally.

I believe it exist in terms of frequencies. This universe is filled by various frequencies and they are unseen, but you could sometimes feel it. That’s how I define feelings, and ghosts.

I miss myself, sometimes, and some people that have passed away, sometimes.

I used to have hedgehogs, but I don’t have any with me now after their death.

I could say I’m a night owl. Morning doesn’t really work well for me.

Nope, but I’m okay with being friend with people who are part of the LGBT community.

Hmm...Those old games, like Fatal Frame series, La pucelle, phantom brave, disgaea, some otome games like amnesia series/ hakuoki.

Not really, but I do find out how lazy I actually am after this quarantine.

36. What do you think that happens after we die?
My soul with emerge with this universe and my physical body will blend into one to the soil. I will become frequencies and when the right moment comes, I will be born again in this universe in a different form.

I do, but I don’t want to dwell into things in the past too much as there is no way we could change the past, but I’m striving to change now to change the future instead.

Being loved is awesome.

Marriage is not about love, because love won’t last for years,
but please keep enhancing yourself to be the best version of yourself and never forget to build consciousness within yourself. Based on that, you support each other, appreciate each other and trust each other as couple.

Very good. We never really have any toxic relationship with each other though of course we are all not perfect and there are things that we should work on for each of us.

Hmm...A small town that is able to travel to a big city for a travel distance less than an hour by train. I miss my time spent when I was in Diemen. It was a nice small city near Amsterdam.

I’m actually pretty sleepy and zombie mode right now, so I couldn’t think off any specific moment, but I think most of moments in my life is a bit bitter with lots of sweetness on it, so yeah! Those moments spent with my family are the best.

Nope. I usually have minus trust with other people other than my own core family. Even I couldn’t trust my extended family too much.

Nope, but I usually try some wigs instead.

Of course, it’s physical appearance (though I should say I don’t put much attention on physical thing) since it’s the first thing that we could see with bare eyes.

I’ll just pick one from KOKIA album. I love her so much. Any album could do, but maybe I’ll choose the best collection album since it contains more songs there LMAO
