I think season four, episode five is my favorite episode of Titans. I know; big talk here. But I literally just had so much fun with this episode and there were so many great family moments and the acting was just EVERYTHING from everyone.

How does something like this happen. The guest has been here for 14 years. The guest has mortgaged the house. The guest has built an extension and all the homies have moved out.

toooootally agree that steve dying in s4 would have made sense. after all the mentions of running away and steve never doing that, his death would have hit home that standing and fighting isn't always the best (or smartest) choice. also think about how interesting that could have been for eddie, unceremoniously placed in the big brother position
LOTS of potential for interesting character moments but. 🤷‍♀️
no EXACTLY.
It's a plotline that not only /didn't/ fit Eddie's overall story, but /would/ have fit Steve's arc so perfectly if they hadn't decided to use him largely for comic relief and regurgitated relationship drama in S4 and had actually, y'know, written him an arc.
This is a guy we've seen come back from having the absolute shit kicked out of him three seasons in a row, who throws himself into the line of fire with very few questions asked of himself other than "will this choice help keep these people safe" and who-- this is the interesting part for me-- always gets back up.
He's almost over powered with the way he can take a hit and keep going and it grows with intensity every season 1-3 to the point where you can see him getting more reckless with his human shield endeavors. Steve has gotten up before, he knows this about himself, he has convinced himself that this means he'll be able to get up again, convinced himself that he'll resurface from that lake to the degree where he just does it so casually.
But that's not true. The opportunity to have Steve run headlong into a frenzy of creatures that he was already almost taken out by once and /needed/ backup to survive without that backup, to do it for Dustin's sake after building that relationship up so thoroughly during s2-3, and then for him to not only not get back up again, but for it to have BEEN IN VAIN? because they still don't WIN?
AND THEY DECIDED NOT TO TAKE THAT OPPORTUNITY?
The version of that scene where Dustin is sobbing over Steve's dying body pleading "No-- Steve-- you die, I die-- Hey, stop, you die, I die, got it? You son of a bitch you die. I die. Don't you fucking dare, please, please--" while Steve smiles and reassures him because he has so much faith that this is worth it because it's over now, it must be lives rent free in my mind.
The version of S5 that gives us the opportunity to see the fallout of what losing one of our original s1 characters does to the rest of them-- does to Dustin in the trauma of watching it happen, does to ROBIN who is half a soul down when she was within /walking distance/ of his final stand, does to Nancy who has got to be convinced at that point that her love is a death sentence, does to Max who has now lost two older brothers (even if this one is both less and more complicated because she actually felt /safe/ around him), does to Lucas who has looked up to Steve in so many ways, does to Eddie who is new to this group and now feels the utterly incomprehensible size of the shoes dropped at his feet to fill-- a sword to carry when his chosen path had always been a shield? Yeah. that lives rent free in my mind too.
The Duffers are cowards who didn't want to kill off a fan favorite and risk losing viewership in their last season and I for one think it hurt them in the long run.
sorry for blabbering I have so many thoughts about this 😭

Continuation of the Silmarillion Superhero AU, specifically expansion on Celebrimbor’s Haunted House Adventure. Cheerfully self-indulgent.
The door to the office of the CEO of Fëa Technologies, Inc. was cracked open. By the twinkle of city lights coming in through the hallway windows and the faint glow of his sword, Valiant inspected it carefully for wires strung across the gap, tripping hazards on the floor, a bucket full of Eru knew what propped against the inner doorframe. Every few seconds, he paused to listen intently for the quiet whir of electronics, any electronics.
He was perfectly aware that a camera was watching his every move and that he looked completely ridiculous. But it had been a long night.
Finding nothing, he used the tip of his sword to push the door another inch open. Someone was breathing in there, and shifting as though restless. But no new traps triggered…yet.
He kicked the door the rest of the way open and strode into the dark office.
Valiant knew where everything in this room lay. The tall, broad central desk, built to intimidate. The respectably stuffed bookcases, at least one of which disguised a hidden door, with a handful of comfortable chairs beside them for more casual conversation. The rare original art on two walls, the family crest on a third, and the floor-to-ceiling windows that made up the fourth, now tuned to impenetrable darkness.
A single beam of light illuminated only the tall-backed black chair behind the desk.
It swiveled to reveal its occupant: a nine-year-old boy with light skin and dark hair, and electric-blue eyes bright with the Light of Vala-derived powers. He was wearing pajamas with a cartoon robot on the shirt. In one hand he held a tablet computer, screen out of view, and with the other he stroked a roomba which was whirring softly on his lap. A pile of what were probably encyclopedias boosted his seat on the chair, which (along with the desk) was made for a man over six feet tall.
“Congratulations, Hero, for surviving my Tower of Terror!” he cried.
Fingon lowered his sword, though he didn’t quite lean against the doorframe. Nor did he discount the roomba. One of those things had eaten half a sleeve of his semi-indestructible supersuit.
“Tyelpë, where is your uncle.”
“My name is ‘Spark,’” the young villain argued, leg bouncing petulantly.
“Alright, Spark. Where is your uncle?”

The Simpsons Ultimate Showdown!
Round 4; 16 Competitors Remain:
FRANK GRIMES VS RALPH WIGGUM
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Frank Grimes TidBit: Hank Azaria felt that William H. Macy was better suited for the role of Grimes but it was ultimately decided that the person voicing Grimes needed to be someone intimately familiar with the Homer Simpson character to make it most effective. Azaria based his performance on as much of Macy as he could.
Ralph Wiggum TidBit: Anon from my askbox says: "compassionate. tough. curious. these are all words ralph wiggum doesn't know, but he doesn't need to know them; he lives them every day. he's ralph wiggum and he's been a good boy. and also idaho."
