Thinking about Earth 42 Rio literally breaks my heart everytime.

Imagine being left almost absolutely alone in the new cruel world that falls into pieces in synch with your life.

Imagine having a 15-year-old teenage son as the only courage to exist, to keep looking forward. The only family that remains.

Imagine seeing him silently going through a thunderstorm, seeing his inner spark slowly dying out in a spare of several hours — and understanding you can't do anything. Anything more that you're already doing.

Imagine being tired. Constantly tired, and yet having no thoughts about getting a rest because you're the reason this family still staying afloat.

Imagine having a free evening only few times a week, perhaps only one time. Imagine feeling time literally going through your fingers because 24 hours in a day is simply not enough.

Imagine understanding your kid is not actually feeling better. Because you're not feeling better either, because sometimes time doesn't heal.

Imagine understanding that you're both smiling and joking around with other even If it seems like you won't have any power to move the next second because this family moments are so special and you both want them to remain sincere.

Imagine saying that you're ready to talk about anything, anything that he'll say If he wants to share his problems. Imagine seeing him nod and then don't tell you nothing except for rants about "ComicsCon" and school grades.

Imagine being worried about your child to the point it literally hurst without having an opportunity to just let all his struggles away. When all you can do is working and repeating the same sentence over and over again — "You can always talk to me If something worries you" — because you're his mother. You're not gonna push on him, you don't want to make everything worse.

Imagine understanding his pain because it pains for you exactly the same. Because nothing is the same anymore and will never be.

Because sometimes time doesn't heal.

I don't feel like q!bad gets enough praise for being such a good dad.

Like, he's encouraging of Dapper's special interests even if they're dangerous and often end up with him at least slightly hurt. He's incredibly respectful of Dapper's independence while also being a caring and attentive father. If they're going to be out and about together, he almost always takes Dapper's input on where they go and what they do.

He knows Dapper is talented player, who knows more than he does sometimes, while still recognizing when Dapper forgets his own limits. He's still a kid, and a fragile one. But that doesn't mean putting him away in a box, like Phil has done with Chayanne. That means finding ways to be safe, having extra backup plans, extra people you trust by your side. They're on together almost every night, even past or before streaming times.

Bad is the egg babysitter, he goes out of his way to do things for them because he genuinely is such a compassionate person. He's also dedicated to solving the lore, to pranking his friends, to building Skeppy statues, and everything else.

Dapper is the mechanic, a collector who isn't ashamed to help others and leave them a gift or a silly prank along the way. He's a kid, who fights with his dad and keeps a journal of how all his machines work, just in case.

A lot of times, when people want to thank Bad for his help, they wonder, "what do you give someone who has everything?" And truth be told I have no idea what I'd do. It never feels like Bad has everything, but rather, it feels like he has everything he really wants. Bad has Dapper, and together, they're able to accomplish almost anything. That's what I think makes them so compelling.

I occasionally scroll through Twitter and see people talking about how they want the egg event to end. I can respect that to a degree, I think it's ended up with some streamers quite stressed, tired, or receiving harassment. However, I feel like Bad and Dapper are the perfect example of why you can't just tear the eggs from their parents - Dapper is as much a character as Bad is. They're a duo, they compliment one another in their skills, their personalities, ect.

It's Bad and Dapper against the world.

And I really hope they find a way to allow them to stay that way.

Absolutely thrilled to be showing you all the last banner I made for the @house-of-dadneto event with my favourite New Mutants and Headmaster Mags! I absolutely adored the dynamic all the kids had with Erik while he was their teacher back in the 80's comics, and my love for it was only renewed with the latest Magneto comic that came out in 2023! If you haven't seen these comics before, I highly recommend them, as it really shows the best of what Erik can be as a mentor/father figure! 💕
