Hi i'm getting desperate and I figured there has to be a tech nerd on Tumblr somewhere, so wherever whoever you are help please 🥺
I have my Google account open on my PC and my phone but can't remember my password and didn't save it when I opened it, can anyone please tell me how to see my password without changing it? If I go to configuration and personal data there is a place that says password and it has the *** thing, but when I click it says that I need to confirm my identity with my password and since it's a work mail the only other way I have it's to ask my boss for help and I will kinda rather die tbh I'm too new to this job to be this irresponsible please if anyone has any ideas hit me up
Even if you don't really know maybe tag my post with the correct tags so someone who knows sees it? I added what I could think of but is still not great

Google Ads is an online advertising platform that allows businesses to display their ads on Google's search engine results pages (SERPs) and other websites. When a user searches for a keyword that is relevant to your business, your ad may appear at the top or bottom of the SERPs. You only pay when someone clicks on your ad, so you can control your costs.
Google Ads offers a number of benefits, including:
Reach a wider audience: Google Ads can help you reach a wider audience than you could through traditional marketing methods, such as print or television advertising.
Target your ads: Google Ads allows you to target your ads to specific demographics, interests, and even locations. This means that your ads are more likely to be seen by people who are actually interested in what you have to offer.
Track your results: Google Ads provides detailed reports that show you how many people are seeing your ads, how many people are clicking on them, and how much you're spending. This information can help you optimize your campaigns and get the most out of your advertising budget.
If you're looking for a way to reach a wider audience, target your ads more effectively, and track your results, then Google Ads is a great option.
Here are some additional benefits of using Google Ads:
Increased brand awareness: When your ads are displayed on Google, people are more likely to be aware of your brand. This can lead to increased traffic to your website and, ultimately, more sales.
Improved website traffic: When people click on your ads, they are taken to your website. This can help to improve your website traffic and generate leads.
Increased sales: If your ads are effective, they can lead to increased sales. This is because people who click on your ads are already interested in what you have to offer.
If you're looking for a way to increase brand awareness, improve website traffic, and generate more sales, then Google Ads is a great option.

So, I have spent most of today creating new Google and Microsoft accounts, because I want everything to be my own now that I'm 18. And also because my new communication device is Windows, so I want to have it set up by then.
I have hit a few bumps along the way, such as my phone number not allowing me to send or receive text messages (which made the "text verification" process very difficult in creating a new Google account - I had to use my Dad's number, and I will change that later once I have my new SIM card that has been ordered).
Also, YouTube doesn't allow you to change email or Google account. You must create a whole new account.
So this is a heads up for anyone subscribed to me - my new account is linked at the bottom of this post and the two videos I have made so far will be posted shortly.
I'm not deleting my current account just yet, I have some playlists to re-make on my new account (special interest playlists that would cause a very bad meltdown if I lost). And I will have to manually subscribe to all of the channels I follow already.
I will also transfer the videos before I delete the previous account, so they will never be unavailable.
It is a shame I have to do this but once I do it, it'll all be sorted and I won't have to change it again.

^I know this shows up with a link to my Tumblr because of the shared username - instead of tapping you have to hold down and select "copy" (on Android). I think on iOS, you can just highlight the text and copy.
At least I now have the same username on all my social media! I like that it's all uniform.

So, Google just released a new way to mess with everyone.
Google accounts with inactivity (for 2 years) will be deleted.
This is a positive and a negative honestly.
Positive: Finally, accounts that were just made solely to either have free trials or just to make many accounts to follow your favorite on. Are finally going to disappear. In other words, allowing other people to use that email name.
Negative: I have an old email that is holding information. Because of storage issues. I'm not paying extra for storage. Fuck off with that.
So how can you prevent your Google account from deletions?
Enter to your Gmail once a year (the simplest way to keep it active), use google drive, watch YouTube videos (link with that Gmail), share a (google) photo, use Google searches with that Gmail, read or send emails with that Gmail and finally, use the Google third-party sign-in feature with that Google account.
There are exceptions to this new policy.
"Examples include: a Google Account with YouTube channels, videos or comments; an account that has a gift card with a monetary balance; or an account that has a published application, for example, one that hosts an app on the Google Play store..."
For every single Google account, if your account is eligible for deletion, will be sent a warning email by Google informing you that the account will be deleted on whatever date has been chosen (for now every "inactive account and any content in it will be eligible for deletion from December 1, 2023"). If you have a recovery email, two emails will be sent. One email will be sent to the account that is eligible to be deleted and another to the recovery email.
This is their way of making it easier for you to keep that account active.
"Our priority is to make it as easy as possible for you to keep your account active, if you want to, and we’ll ensure you have adequate notice before any account is impacted by this change. So before an account is deleted, Google will send email notifications to the Google Account and its recovery email (if one has been provided)."
This policy was updated yesterday (July 28, 2023, around 8:01am EST).
My guess is that Dec 1st, 2023 is when the clock starts. But idk and I highly recommend everyone go to your inactive accounts just so they can be deemed safe from the purge. Also, recommend making a recovery email if that Gmail is important to you and needs to be kept alive.
An idea of mine but will not recommend it unless someone can vouch it's a good idea. Make a scheduled email and have that sent to your account like a 'hey future me' kind of thing. As long as the account is active and is sending emails it should be fine right. However, I think Google is more seeing if you are actually checking your Gmail or using your Google account. But hey, it's a good idea, right?

So if you're like me and have a Google account you tie to all the stuff on your phone (like the back up email, the Google photos account, your phones main email account, ect.) then like me, you may have gotten a notification saying
"Out of storage You're unable to back up photos, save to Drive, and send and receive emails with Gmail"
Which first of all is is insane since you can ONLY store up to 15 Gigabyte's on one account. But I've had this account since like 2016, and I don't want to delete all of the photos since they don't exist anywhere else. so I'm stuck not being able to transfer photos but also not wanting to delete them.
BUT I found out yesterday that there's a feature with your Google account called Google Takeout. Which allows you to select everything you want, (wether its photos, documents, Emails, contacts, site passwords, ect.) Automatically sorted into folders by year and transfer it to a different account through either A .zip file or a file of 1, 2, 4, 10, 20 gigabites!
The process can take a few hours, or a few days depending on how much you're transferring.
But just transferring all my photos like that in .zip files that I can turn into regular folders with all the photos in folders is such a lifesaver for me. It took around 5 or 6 hours for it to transfer all my 15 gigs of photos in my storage, to 11 .zip files that I could download.
But it overall it's a great thing to use if you have a fuck ton of photos in your Google photos and want to transfer them onto a laptop or flashdrive. Didn't even know this existed untill yesterday as well!

cant tell you how bad it feels to constantly tell other artists to come to tumblr, because its the last good website that isn't fucked up by spoonfeeding algorithms and AI bullshit and isn't based around meaningless likes
just to watch that all fall apart in the last year or so and especially the last two weeks
there's nowhere good to go anymore for artists.
edit - a lot of people are saying the tags are important so actually, you'll look at my tags.
#please dont delete your accounts because of the AI crap. your art deserves more than being lost like that #if you have a good PC please glaze or nightshade it. if you dont or it doesnt work with your style (like mine) please start watermarking #use a plain-ish font. make it your username. if people can't google what your watermark says and find ur account its not a good watermark #it needs to be central in the image - NOT on the canvas edges - and put it in multiple places if you are compelled #please dont stop posting your art because of this shit. we just have to hope regulations will come slamming down on these shitheads#in the next year or two and you want to have accounts to come back to. the world Needs real art #if we all leave that just makes more room for these scam artists to fill in with their soulless recycled garbage #improvise adapt overcome. it sucks but it is what it is for the moment. safeguard yourself as best you can without making #years of art from thousands of artists lost media. the digital world and art is too temporary to hastily click a Delete button out of spite
