Shoddy photo, I know but seriously what is this thing. It's not a USB-micro or a USB-mini, it's too big for that. But I have zero clue what it could be. If it's any help, the other end of the cable is a USB-mini.

techies, I need your help! My laptop (HP Windows 11) has been having issues for a while. Usually, the mouse lags. Sometimes the mouse will just freeze and I can’t use it for several seconds. It just got so bad just now that I had to force quit all my apps and then force shut down my laptop. Funny thing is, I would press the power button to let it sleep, wait ten seconds before turning it on to see if that fixed it (usually does). But it didn’t. I’d get to 9 seconds or 6 seconds before my laptop would turn itself back on without my prompting. Help?? I’ve only had this laptop for a little over 3 years now and there has been no damage to it.

In my trek to move my iTunes playlist from one computer to another I have somehow activated a

JACKSON 5 METADATA CURSE

So here’s the thing: nearly all of my songs are downloaded off of YouTube, so most of them don’t have album art.

Recently, though I’ve started using a downloader that takes the thumbnail of the video and makes that the album cover, which is cool! I like that!

So, my most recent downloads do have cover art, but all of the MP3‘s from years ago don’t.

Now, one of these newer downloads is ABC by the Jackson 5, and somehow no matter what I do, nearly every song on the new laptop shows up in iTunes as having ABC by the Jackson 5 cover art. even songs that already have their own cover art.

Curiously enough, there are a few songs that are exempt from this end. It isn’t just songs that had album art already. Plenty of songs with album art show up as ABC. There are also a few songs with no cover art that stay blank.

Furthering my confusion, when I look into the metadata some of the newer downloads, it says that the album art is still the original thumbnails from their YouTube videos. So it hasn’t actually replaced the album art???

I have no idea how this happened or how to get it to stop. Songs downloaded on the new laptop have their video thumbnails as their album art.

Why have I been cursed this way? Why are some songs exempt from the curse? why does the curse not transfer to new downloads? Why Jackson 5 ???

do any of you out there have good gaming laptop recommendations... in a perfect world id be getting a desktop but my life has to be very portable for the forseeable future so laptop it is

i'd like to keep it under 1k if possible but I can splurge if it's a good deal, and I'd like to be able to play games, run photoshop, and hopefully also run blender (not all at the same time) on it.

Can anyone help me?

My laptop can’t connect to my wi-fi at home, but it can connect to other wi-fi signals just fine. My home wi-fi can connect to other deviced like my phone, but refuses to connect to my laptop. My laptop is a HP 430 G5 running Windows 10, if that helps

I’ve tried troubleshooting the Wi-fi, and nothing pops up at all. Connecting to my home wi-fi simply results in a “Can’t connect to this network” message.

If anyone could help me, that’s be great

Are any of you getting this error message when trying to open a save in Transformers Earthspark: Expedition?

I keep trying to open my save file and it’s giving me this message. I’ve tried un- and re-installing, I’ve tried verifying the file integrity, and I’ve tried putting on compatibility mode (i can’t figure out how, I’m on windows 11). Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Anyone who knows shit about tech stuff, pls help me

So last night, I just left my USB plugged into my laptop like usual because I had to go eat dinner. I've done this many times so it's fine. My laptop would've went to sleep if I took too long without interacting with it.

1 hr later, I return to my laptop. It apparently restarted all by itself? But I had the charger plugged in the whole time and there were no alerts from Windows to update it soon. Ok, this is weird but whatever.

I continued to use the laptop. Then when I attempted to transfer photos from my laptop to the USB, the USB is suddenly write-protected for some reason??? I don't know how this happened. It wasn't like that earlier. What did that sudden restart of my laptop do to it?? Can't even delete files in the USB or move files out from it.

I looked up how to disable the write-protection and it says I should like turn off the Read-Only thing from it by pressing the Windows key + R key then typing "diskpart" & other instructions, but the Read-Only thing of the USB is still off or whatever when I checked. I even plugged in my other USB that is still normal to see if the attributes would be the same in diskpart and yes, they were. So, it's not the Read-Only thing that's the problem.

When I tried to move a folder from the USB out from it to my other USB, it showed the error 0x80004005. I looked it up and it says that error appears for several different reasons. I didn't have the time or energy to read everything else in that website. Maybe some time later.

Seriously, please help me with this. I have files in that USB that I do not have in my laptop nor in my other USB.

If you're currently blocked from viewing a tweet as a logged out user, you can still paste the URL into web.archive.org and see it there.

This won't work unless a good samaritan out there made a snapshot (or created a bot that periodically makes them) before the update.

Fortunately, there's a lot of them online and if the tweet is popular and/or shared on another social media site, there's almost certainly a snapshot of it.

hi brilliant tech people on tumblr I need help🙏🙏

So I own a Nintendo switch OLED and I’ve had it since last year I think!! I’ve been having a problem recently where my left joycon slides out without me pressing the back button or anything. Sometimes it slides out completely, or even just pushes itself up a little bit. It completely ruins my game (mainly Splatoon) since it also has problems connecting since it’s usually disconnecting due to it sliding out and it’s gotten to the point where I just want to superglue that controller and call it a day cause it gets on my nerves (but I won’t). If anyone else has this problem and know how to fix it please lmk, it’s really bugging me out

Tldr; My switch oled’s left controller is sliding out easily and when it does, it has trouble connecting when I slide it back in

question for people who DON'T have ocd: does it not bother you to see the little colored underlines that the computer/phone leaves you when the ai senses a grammatical error? bc my computer double-blue-underlines the last word of every sentence I type in tumblr or on google docs comments bc "a sentence is supposed to end with punctuation" even when I'm not finished fucking typing and guess who's inventing new cleansing rituals to deal with That Shit. also my phone has recently automatically downloaded grammarly onto my texting app Without My Permission and now texting is hell and if I'm already anxious and I'm trying to text it legitimately makes the violent intrusive thoughts so so much worse

if anybody knows how to get grammarly the fuck off of my phone please please tell me I've checked settings and it's not in there
