౨ৎ⋆ ˚。⋆ romance cheat sheet, pt. 1
chris sturniolo x reader
warnings: swearing
summary: Chris and you have been best friends since middle school. Chris has been in love with you since he met you, and you developed a small crush during sophomore year. It’s now currently senior year, and Chris has no idea how to ask you out. So him, his brothers, and their friend, Nate, make a ‘romance cheat sheet’, to get you to fall for him (even tho you already have..?)
a/n: i JUST found out there’s a literal book with the same plot. uhhhhhhh, don’t sue me
౨ৎ
It was around midnight. Nate, Matt, and Nick were all slumped on the couch, looking at me sitting on the floor, my legs crossed.
“C’mon, don’t be such a pussy, Chris. Just ask her out already, she clearly likes you!” Nate groaned.
I had been talking about y/n for the past 20 minutes, deciding if I should text her to ask her out or not.
The thing is, she is my best friend, and I won’t risk our friendship just because I was delusional, and thought she liked me back. There’s no chance, she’s fucking perfect.
But yet I still had a small voice in my head, telling me she just might like me back.
“Nate, it’s not that fucking easy. She’s my best frie- girl best friend. What if I fuck up?” I lean back against the carpet, covering my face with my hands with a frustrated grunt. This wasn’t easy, at all.
“I say we make a little cheat sheet. Romance cheat sheet.” Nick said with a proud smile, wiggling his eyebrows up and down. He’s mentioned it before, but I cut it off immediately.
This time I felt different though. Maybe he was right, what if it would work? He noticed a thing or two.
“I’m with Nick on this one. You clearly like her. Too much for my liking.” Matt mumbled, making Nate break into laughter, leaning back in the couch.
I doubt it’ll work. None of us have any experience with women, but Nick had a few female friends. I mean, me, Matt and Nate also did, but we weren’t as close. I’d just let Nick take over the list.
“Okay! Fine. Nick, grab a paper or whatever,” I rolled my eyes, standing up to find a few pens for all of us.
Nick and Nate added a few points. Here and there I remembered a few thinks she liked, crossed a few of the stupid ideas out, kicking Matt because he wasn’t helping, and so on.
“Wait, her favourite flowers are tulips-“
“I don’t know, she mentioned she’s never played golf before?”
“She likes the Nerds Gummy Clusters.”
“Nick, we already have matching bracelets. Look- Mine’s blue.”
The final list consisted of 13 points.
1. Tuck her hair behind her ear once in a while
2. Get her flowers for no reason (tulips)
3. fake failing a class
4. Let her borrow your hoodies
5. Hold her hand when walking (oh la laa)
6. Kiss her forehead when she accomplishes something!!! ;)
7. Teach her how to play golf or something, stand behind her
8. Remember her ordr orders for specific restaurants
9. Always have her favourite candy in your bag (nerds gummy cluts clusters)
10. make out with her Take her out when it feels right
11. Go shopping or whatever
12. Get matching bracelets (more)
13. KISS KISS KISS - n8
“Alright, I think this is good. You start Monday, try to check any of these off during the day.” Nick said, putting the cap on the pen pack on. Nate nodded, and Matt was practically asleep on the couch.
I stared at the list for a second. Was it stupid? Was it really worth it? Would it even work?
I tried to push the thoughts away. It’ll be fine, if it’s not gonna work, at least we’re still best friends.
“Alright, I’m going to bed then. Goodnight.” Nate yawned as he stood up, making his way to the bathroom. I just gave him a smile.
“Nick, I’m scared it’s not gonna work. What if she thinks I’m a weirdo? I mumble, looking down at my hands. I shot Nick a glance.
“Chris, stop. She’s not gonna suddenly find you weird after being your best friend since middle school. You guys are attached to the fucking hip, this is literally the first Friday in what? Weeks, she hasn’t been sleeping here. I’ve seen the way she looks at you, laughs at your extremely unfunny jokes, always staying by your side. You literally sleep beside each other. So please, shut up. And goodnight.” Nick rolled his eyes as he also stood up.
Deep down Nick felt kind of happy for his brother, finally trying to making some sort of move on his best friend. It was getting painful to watch two people completely oblivious to each other.
I looked back at Matt behind me, asleep on the couch with his phone in his hand. I slowly got up to put his phone on the coffee table, finding a blanket for him, before making my way to my bedroom, not forgetting to bring the cheat sheet with me.
-
I had been staring at the ceiling for God knows how long. The overthinking had taken over, makes me completely restless.
That was until my phone lit up with a vibration.

Biggest Fan: Part One
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Chris Sturniolo x Fem Reader
Summary: The one in which a fan gets rear ended in a car accident by none other than Christopher Sturniolo during her stay in Los Angeles.
A/N: This is my first series I will be publishing on here! There will most likely be 3 or 4 parts. I hope you like it and I’m really excited to share with you all. :)
Content Warnings: smutty smut, oral receiving/giving, penetration, slight degradation, fingering, teasing, overstimulation, swearing, brief mentions of blood, head injuries, mentions of a car accident
side note: there is no smut in this part, but it will be coming soon I promise! ;) It's pretty long because this is part of a series so I like to develop the plot and use a lot of dialogue, but I will be doing shorter stories, like one shots in the future as well! enjoy <3

I was inspired by this song:
𐮙ღ✰☾✿ღ𐮙
Summer 2023
Your toes sink into the sand, the warmth of the sun beaming down on your skin, as you take a cold sip of the cheap wine cooler you bought before you came to the beach. You and two of your closest friends from college decided on a whim to take a road trip from your hometown to Los Angeles, California. You all had the next week off for summer break and getting drunk and sunburnt on the West Coast sounded like a pretty great idea. You watched dozens of people walk along the coastline, several enjoying the water and others playing in the sand, some groups playing volleyball. You can’t remember the last time you went to the beach or even on a vacation. The last two years, you have been completely immersed in your studies, barely having time to relax, let alone have any time to yourself.
Los Angeles was the perfect getaway. Tonight, you had all agreed to splurge and go out to eat at a restaurant in Hollywood, just to get the full experience. Maybe even spot a celebrity or two. Your mind briefly thought of the idea of running into the Sturniolo Triplets, who you were obsessed with recently (which your friends were painfully aware of). But of course, that was delusional and the odds of seeing them were one in a million.
After a couple hours of enjoying the sun and sand, you headed back to your hotel to get ready for dinner. You chose to wear a pair of cute mom jeans, a tube top and cardigan, and a nice pair of sneakers. You didn’t want to dress up too much as you already felt tired from the beach and planned on crashing out in your bed right after dinner. You all went to eat at a gorgeous Italian restaurant, thoroughly enjoying the night, laughing and talking over good food and wine.
Once you got back to the hotel, you told your friends goodnight and went to your separate room, immediately hopping in the shower and changing into a comfortable pair of flannel pajama shorts and an old band t-shirt. You had talked about going out to a club or bar but you felt exhausted. This was your first day of vacation and already you had been stressing about your classes. Your friends forced you to leave your computer at home so that you weren’t tempted to do some extra credit for your school work. Sometimes you found it hard to just relax and take a break. You were trying to learn to simply live in the moment and stop thinking so hard about what to do next. Still, your mind raced as you lay in bed, attempting to sleep. Rain pelted the window of your room as it started to storm outside. You loved when it rained, the calming sound of thunder and raindrops on the roof usually coaxed you to sleep quickly. But tonight, you couldn’t stop tossing and turning. You were wide awake. You had the sudden urge to get up and do something – anything – to entertain you that hopefully would tire you out enough to finally go to sleep.
You got out of bed and slipped on your converse, not bothering to change your pajamas. You had decided to just go to the drive through and get an ice cream. A midnight snack would be just the thing you needed.
These were the events that had led up to you now in your car halfway down the street from the Wendy’s you stopped at, vanilla frosty in your hand, the other hand on the steering wheel as you stopped at a red light. The radio played softly as you ate your ice cream, streetlights illuminating the dark streets. There were only a few people on the road being that it was nearly one in the morning. The palm trees swayed slightly with the breeze, rain still coming down although not as hard as before. This is nice, you thought. This is my vacation. There is no time for stress. Once I get back to my room, I’ll get some rest. Tomorrow, me and the girls will go out sightseeing. Maybe even go to the–
Your thoughts were interrupted by a loud bang behind you as you felt your body jolt forward harshly, you frosty dropping out of your hand, vanilla soft serve spilling all over your lap and steering wheel. Your air bag went off, a piece snapping painfully against your forehead. It happened so quickly you barely had time to register it. After a good thirty seconds, you realized you had just been rear ended. Great. You thought. This is the last thing I needed. You looked out of your rear-view mirror to see a Kia attached to your bumper. The culprit, from what you could see through the tinted window, looked to be a boy around your age with long brown hair. You sighed in frustration, leaning your head back against the headrest. You hated confrontation, especially in situations like these. Not to mention you’d have to file this with insurance and that was another headache in itself. Reluctantly, you opened your door, stepping out into the wet street.
Fuck. You didn’t have an umbrella with you. Talk about the fucking cherry on top. Luckily the rain had significantly got lighter than earlier, and it wasn’t thunder and lightning anymore. You closed the door, walking towards the other car but stopped dead in your tracks once you recognized the person that had crashed into you.
There was absolutely no way. Had you actually fallen asleep in your hotel room and were currently dreaming? Because there was just no way that you were standing in the middle of the street, rain currently soaking through your pajamas which were also sticky with ice cream, staring at Christopher Sturniolo who had rear ended your car. Who also happened to be in a yelling match with Matt and Nick at the current moment. You had to be dreaming.
Your feet were frozen to the ground as you stood there, physically unable to move. How does one even go about approaching them? Oh, hey funny to see you guys here. I know you just crashed into my car but don’t worry about it. I’ll just be on my way back to the comfort of my bed so I can completely avoid this insane situation and also avoid making a complete idiot of myself….
“Chris, are you fucking serious?!”
“This is the last time I ever let you drive, you’re obviously incapable.”
“Will both of you shut the fuck up! I can’t find my phone; I think it went under the seat.”
“Oh, you can’t be serious. He just hit another car and the kid is worried about his phone.”
“I’d be more worried about the insurance and how much we’re gonna have to pay for this!!”
“Oh my God! I said shut the fu-“
They didn’t seem to even notice you, too caught up in their bickering as you had slowly walked closer, your voice quiet and timid.
“Uh, hey… Don’t worry about insurance or anything. If you don’t wanna claim it, I’m cool with that.”
You interrupted, trying to hide your visibly shaking hands and crossing your arms.
All three boys halted their conversation, turning to look at you with wide eyes as if they almost forgot there was another human being inside the car they had just hit.
“Oh my God, I’m so sorry. Excuse my brother, he actually has half a brain and apparently the inability to drive.” Nick said, an apologetic look on his face and then turning to glare at Chris.
Chris glared back at him, finally finding his phone from underneath the seat. He made eye contact with you, his glare turning into a sheepish look. He ran a hand through his hair, his mouth opening to speak to you, but Matt stepped in front, approaching you.
“You don’t have to worry. I’m actually the one who owns this car and I have great insurance so I promise it will all be taken care of.” He says, with a nice smile. You smile back politely, still holding onto your arms and trying not to freak out at the fact you’re actually conversing with these people right now.
“Are you sure? I mean, the damage isn’t that bad. I wont mind just forgetting this happened and calling it a night.” You laugh nervously, glancing at the busted bumper on your car. In all honesty, it actually wasn’t too bad. You would need a new bumper for sure, which might put a dent in your wallet but at the current moment you wanted nothing but to get the fuck out of there.
“No way! It wouldn’t feel right if we just walked away from this. Matt will get all the details and take care of it.” Nick chimed in, an identical smile to Matt’s on his face that made you feel just a little more comfortable.
Meanwhile Chris leaned up against the car, unusually quiet and with a look of stress over his features, stealing glances at you every now and them. He definitely felt guilty for causing the accident and he knew he would never hear the end of it from his brothers. He stared at his shoes and tucked his hands in the pocket of his hoodie, waiting while you exchanged information with Matt.
You typed your insurance information into Matt’s phone handing it back, while he handed you yours. You suddenly felt a twinge of pain on your forehead and winced, reaching up to touch it. It was then that you noticed there was about a 2-inch gash from the airbag snapping in your face. It didn’t feel too deep, but it hurt. Matt and Nick both noticed and Nick instinctively reached out to grab your arm. “Are you okay? It looks like its bleeding.” He said in concern. Chris then snapped his head up, his attention fully on you now. He walked over to Nick and Matt, a look of pure terror on his face as he stared at the cut on your head.
“Oh, I’m fine. I’ve had worse, I promise. I just need to get back to my hotel and clean it up.” You say reassuringly. But they were not buying it.
“Are you sure? Maybe we should call an ambulance? I really don’t want anything bad to happen.” Chris says.
“An ambulance? Don’t be dramatic, Chris. Maybe she just needs to sit down for a while.” Matt responds quickly. He looks at you like you’re an injured puppy, concern filling his eyes.
“Yeah, I agree. Let’s have her sit in the car for a bit. It’s not helping that we’re also standing in the rain like idiots.” Nick quips, guiding you to the back seat of their car.
You laugh nervously again, taking a seat. They crowd around you, looking at you like you might fall dead to the ground.
“Look, I really appreciate that you guys are being so helpful. But I’m not gonna lie, I’m freezing right now, my clothes are wet, and I just wanna get back to my hotel and go to sleep. Also, no offense, but I know you guys from your YouTube videos and this is a very awkward situation for me.” The words spill out in a rush, and you cover your face with your hands in embarrassment.
“Oh! I’m such an idiot. Here, take my hoodie. I have an extra one in the back.” Chris says, seeming to completely ignore the fact that you admitted you knew who they were and reaches around you to grab his dry hoodie from the back seat. He hands it to you, and you hesitantly take it, your eyebrows raised in confusion at his nonchalant response. “So you can at least warm up a little.” He smiles, trying to make you feel more comfortable. You do nothing but grip onto the soft hoodie and look over at Matt and Nick who also seem to not care a thing about what you just said. Matt says, “I’ll go look at your car if you don’t mind and make sure its safe for you to drive and then once you warm up, you’ll be free to go!”
He makes his way towards your car and Nick climbs in on the other side of the back seat next to you. “Sorry again for everything. I’m pretty sure this wasn’t how you expected your night to go.” He says. You then find yourself genuinely laughing for the first time tonight and start to pull the hoodie on, grateful to feel something warm over your wet clothes. “Yeah, definitely not what I expected.” Chris climbs into the passenger seat, turning back to look at you. “This is where I normally sit.” He states with a cheeky grin and you giggle, feeling a slight blush creep onto your face. He really was just as attractive in person, if not more, you realize as your nerves slightly settle down. “But I guess you already knew that.” He adds, his grin turning into a smirk. “Yeah and it’s gonna stay that way, you idiot.” Nick interrupts, making you erupt into more giggles as Chris’ smirk turns into a glare. “Shut up.” He mumbles, turning back around in his seat as Matt walks back towards their car, opening the driver door and getting in. He has a serious look on his face now, turning to look at you in the back seat.
“So… there’s an issue. It looks like Chris’ dumbass rear ended you so hard that your rear tire is flat. And I really doubt any tow truck is going to come at this time of night. Even if it does, it will take a while. And I wouldn’t feel safe letting you go alone. It looks like the best option is to drop you off myself at your hotel and have them tow your car in the morning. We can push it to the side of the road so there’s no issues.” Matt says, your heart sinking and you lay your head in your hands in frustration before he even finishes his sentence. Nick frowns and sighs, putting another reassuring hand on your shoulder. “I’m sorry. We’ll pay for all of it, I swear.” He says. You look at him with a smile and turn to Matt, ready to just agree with him so you can be done with this night already before Chris interrupts you. “Why don’t we just take her to the house? It’s literally 5 minutes from here and we don’t know how serious her head injury is.” He suggests.
Chris knows this is a crazy suggestion. First of all, you’re a fan, and you just met not even 30 minutes ago. You could be a psycho killer for all he knows. But Chris likes to believe that he has a strong intuition, especially when it comes to people and he just knows you’re not the type. To be quite honest, he hasn’t been able to take his eyes off you since he first saw you. Even with the rain completely drenching you and what looked like to be some sort of frozen dessert staining the front of your shirt and shorts, he thought you were beautiful. He already felt horrible for fucking up your car and causing you bodily harm. The least he could do was take you to his house and attend to your wounds. Only to make sure you didn’t drop dead on some random hotel carpet. Right?
Everyone looks at him like he has three heads. His brothers exchange concerning glances, awkward silence filling the car. Since when did he just invite random strangers into his house?
“Uhh.. Are you sure? I mean, how do you feel about that..?” Matt asks, looking at you with hesitation. You didn’t respond just yet, still adjusting to the fact Chris Sturniolo is voluntarily inviting you to their home.
“I don’t know…. I think I agree with Chris. I don’t wanna be responsible if you go back to your hotel alone and end up with a concussion or something. No offense.” Nick adds, shrugging his shoulders.
You scoff, extremely surprised at the fact that they’ve taken it this far. “No no no, look. You three have been really nice to me over this whole thing, but its just a little cut. I promise I’ll be fine. My hotel isn’t that far either. I don’t want to intrude and-“
Chris suddenly reaches out and lightly touches your forehead, blood still trickling out and starting to run down the side of your head. You wince in pain and recoil from his touch, your head starting to throb. “See? It’s not just a little cut, is it? You’re actively bleeding, and it obviously hurts. I know you’re just being modest, but I promise I just – we just- want to make sure you’re okay.” He says, his eyes trailing down your face, admiring it briefly, his fingertips ghosting over your jaw before he pulls his hand back. You remain frozen in your seat, butterflies swarming in your lower abdomen from the light touch he left on your face. “Unless you really do feel uncomfortable, then I understand. We can take you to the hotel. But like Nick said, we just don’t want anything bad to happen.” He added softly, turning back around, raking a hand through his hair. Nick and Matt exchange looks again, noticing the obvious tension.
You take in a deep breath and pull Chris’ hoodie tighter around you. “Fine. I guess I see your point. You can take me to your house but once I get this stupid cut on my head cleaned up, I’ll call my friend to come pick me up.” You finally say, buckling your seat belt. You can’t help but notice a small, smug smirk on Chris’ face through the passenger side mirror.
Once they pushed your car to the side of the road, Matt takes off with you in the backseat, your head leaned against the window.
I must be dreaming right? I’m definitely in my bed right now and this is not happening. You think to yourself, the intoxicating smell of Dior Sauvage cologne filling your nose, as you press the sleeve of Chris’ hoodie to the throbbing wound on your head.

Jack Hughes x Reader
Requested✨
Word Count: 4.6k
Warning(s): none? Angst? Miscommunication?
This was proofread once and written during a nasty headache.
—————————————
“Jack, you’re my best friend.. and I know that..” I had to pause to find the right words. Jack was home for the summer. Home with his family, and I stupidly thought I couldn’t hide my feelings any longer.
“Your best friend?” Jack smirked, leaning into my side, where he’d been for the past hour, binging comedy sitcoms with me. He was practically laying on me, but I never minded. Jack was always a space invader. The best kind, in my opinion. Cuddly and gentle.
“Yeah.” My heart hurt to hear the excitement in his tone when he repeated my words. Maybe best friends was all he wanted to be.
“What’s up?” Jack pressed on, knowing by the tone in my voice that there was more.
“Jack-“ I sighed, glancing down at my lap, where I had been playing with Jack’s hands, occasionally running my fingers over the bracelet I made for him a week ago. The one he never took off. Because it was a symbol of our friendship.
When I didn’t continue, Jack gently moved one of his hands from my own to rest on my thigh.
“I’m listening.”
“Did you ever think about us.. as maybe more than friends?” I knew he had when we were little. Because when we were little, Jack was obsessed with me. Always running across the street with dandelions or flowers from his mother’s garden to knock on my door and give them to me. I used to love the flowers, but Jack had to stop that eventually when Ellen’s plants kept dying. At one point, little Jack, as mischievous as he was, stole his mother’s wedding band to propose to me. Granted we were only kids, and those feelings meant nothing, because they weren’t romantic. But Jack used to think I was the prettiest girl in the room.
“What?” Jack giggled, and I was too caught up in the fact that he was laughing to acknowledge the nervous sound in his voice. “No. Why? We’re best friends.” Jack squeezed my thigh. “Silly.”
Silly. Just like my delusional hope that he felt the same way. My heart shattered. Tears sprung to my eyes, but I tried my best to wipe them away without disturbing the boy pressed into my side. I stared down the tv, as if it was the most interesting thing in the room. Jack and I never bothered to look at one another. But at one point I did notice the way his hand raised to his face. No doubt biting one of his nails, which was a nervous habit he had. Had I made him uncomfortable?
When I got the confidence to speak again, I carefully rubbed a hand through his hair to gain his attention. My eyes were no doubt red from holding back tears, but in the dark, Jack would have been none the wiser. He tilted his head back to look at me.
“Yeah?”
“I should get going..” I was slow to slip out from beneath him. Jack’s lips immediately pulled into a frown. I never left the Hughes house this early.
“You have to stay. The episode’s not even over.”
“Sorry, Jack. I’m just too tired. Ask Lu to watch it with you.”
“Lukey’s boring.” Jack’s small whine of complaint would have been amusing if not for the pulsing pain in my chest. I forced out a laugh nonetheless and started to make my way over to the door. It was only then that Jack completely sat up and stared me down, a sad look in his eyes that I didn’t completely understand. I slipped my shoes on and eyed him in the silence.
“You’re really leaving?”
“Yes, Jack.”
“But we were gonna do milkshakes.” The disappointment in his tone frustrated me. The last thing I wanted to do was be around him.
“We’ll do ‘em some other time, Jack.” I sighed, shaking my head and grabbing my purse. A few tears finally slipped down my cheeks.
“Did I do something?” I heard Jack stand up, and I immediately reached for the door, opening it.
“No.. no Jack. Goodnight.”
Perhaps it was a harsh way to leave him. We hadn’t spoken for a week. An insufferably long week. I pushed him aside when he asked about hanging out. I told him I wasnt home when he asked to come over. I told him I didn’t have time when he offered to take me out. And each time he texted, I’d cry. I’d remember how he wanted nothing more than a friendship, and my heart would break all over again.
“He can have anybody. I should have known it was just in my head.” Eventually the sadness became overshadowed by anger. Frustration in myself for ever letting my feelings get as far as they had.
“I could have sworn he had a thing for you.” Madison muttered as she leaned against the cafe table we were seated at. The one I took Jack to frequently before I decided to ignore his existence.
“Apparently not.” I snapped softly. “He’s just like that.. that’s just the way Jack is. He’s touchy and sweet- and cuddly, and he probably did the same thing with Ty before he left.” My voice could barely balance itself, overwhelmed with emotion as I felt tears well up in my eyes. What hurt the most was knowing Jack probably wasn’t even phased by the fact that we weren’t talking much, or seeing each other. He probably just assumed everything was fine. This was one of those things I couldn’t see Jack about. I couldn’t cry on his shoulder about a broken heart, because he was the one who broke it. And he didn’t even know.
“Maybe you just need to find another guy. I mean, you’ve never known anybody as deeply as you knew Jack. Maybe a contender might help. And you have shit to look forward to! Like your birthday coming up! Did you make plans?”
“Not really…”
“We should do something!”
“I don’t know.”
“We could go out for drinks and get you laid. I think that’s a flawless plan.”
“What about Jack?”
“Think of it as the beginning of you forgetting about him.”
“I’ll think about it.” I wouldn’t. I knew for a fact the Hughes would want to do something, and as hard as it was to think about Jack, I’d still rather spend my night with a family who cared about me, than a man looking to get lucky.
——————
“Hey, mom?”
Ellen smiled at the sound of her son’s voice. Filling that silence she grew used to over the years of her boys being gone. She looked up from the magazine in her hands, taking in the usual disheveled appearance of her middle child. She wasn’t oblivious to the change in his behaviors as of recent, but seeing as he wasn’t going to be an open book about it, she never asked more than once.
“What’s up?”
“Can I talk to you, just real quick?”
“Yeah, hun. What’s-“
“It has to be fast. I’m up to play Quinn in ping pong next.” Ellen smiled at her son. He always thought he was slick, finding excuses to make their emotional conversations brief. To act like whatever was on his mind, wasn’t truly that bothersome.
“Pop a squat sweet pea.” Jack quickly plopped down in the deck chair across from Ellen. He ran his hands through his hair and sighed, leaning back and getting comfortable. Too comfortable for the supposed “short” conversation they were going to have. “What’s going on?”
“Do you know..” Jack’s hands fell into his lap, fidgeting with them aimlessly. “How to apologize for something.. when you don’t know what you did wrong?”
Ellen’s brow furrowed, and she closed the magazine in her hands.
“Who’s mad at you?”
“Uh.. nobody. I was just- asking.”
“Is it one of your brothers?”
“No.. it’s just- the other night, at the house when I had-“
“Did you upset her? What did you say?”
Ellen knew it was me before he even said my name.
“I didn’t say anything.” Jack brought his hand up to his face, resting his cheek on his fist and propping his elbow up on the arm of the chair. “She asked me if I ever thought of us as more than friends.”
“What’s wrong with that? You like her, don’t you?” Jack shrugged, a deep frown tugging at the corners of his quivering lips. “Honey, what’s wrong?” Ellen cooed, slowly leaning forward.
“I told her no.”
“What?” She set her magazine aside. “Why?”
“Because she’ll end up hating me!” Jack began to wipe at the tears forming in his eyes. Ellen stared him down in disbelief.
“How many years have you guys been friends? She’s put up with you this long.”
“But it’s different.. if we get into a relationship and she decides she hates me, it’ll ruin our friendship.” Jack choked on a breath of air and sighed. “She’s my best friend, mom. What if I ruin it?” Ellen slowly stood up and closed the short distance between herself and her son. She reached out to him, and sighed when Jack fell forward, his forehead pressed into her stomach as his arms wrapped around her legs.
“Sometimes I wish you’d just tell me these things before you work yourself up this much over them.” Ellen whispered as she ran one of her hands through Jack’s hair. “Jack, I don’t think you could possibly ruin anything between you two. I raised you to be a kind and respectful person. You’ve never hurt a girl before, have you?” He shook his head, a quiet sniffle catching the attention of his mother, who moved the hand rubbing his back to carefully guide his head away from her body. She tilted his chin upwards. “And even if something happens and you two decide to stay friends, I doubt she’ll just walk away.”
“She won’t spend time with me now.” Jack whispered, trying to stop himself from breathing as hard as he was, while his mother wiped the tears from his cheeks.
“Because she’s hurt, Jack.”
“‘Cause I hurt her.” Ellen could see the tears forming again.
“You can fix it honey, I promise. It’s not too late to figure it out.”
——————
“It’s refreshing to get out of the house. Jack’s been such a let down lately.” Quinn griped as he turned down the next street. I didn’t know why I turned Madison down to go out. I dreaded seeing Jack, but spending the day with Quinn helped me ease into the idea of spending an evening around him.
“Thanks for the birthday celebration today.” I spoke with a small smile.
“No problem. I enjoyed it. Especially that cake you dropped.”
“I didn’t drop it!”
“Yes you did! You’re lucky the thing had a lid, or we would have been eating cake off the concrete.”
“Bold of you to assume I was eating concrete cake.”
“You like the gift though, yeah?” Quinn swiftly switched the conversation on me, and I chuckled softly.
“It’s perfect, considering I’ve only been asking for Canucks gear for a year now.” I teased, tugging at the sides of the Canucks beanie I wore on my head.
“I’ll take it back.” Quinn threatened as he pulled into the driveway of the Hughes’ household. My gaze drifted to the house, and my smile slowly faltered.
“Mom’s been cooking all day. She even got our dad to help.” Quinn turned the car off and quickly climbed out. I hesitated, and he must have taken that as a hint, seeing as he opened the door for me when he got around to my side. I had no choice but to slip out of the car and follow him to the front door. I could smell the food the second Quinn pulled the door open. We both inhaled at the same time, an excited look taking over Quinn’s features. His usual dark and brooding demeanor completely gone.
“Mom! I got her!” Quinn called, and I gently shoved his shoulder.
“I’m not a package.” I scolded.
“Trust me, I know. Nobody would pay for you.”
“Hey! Don’t be mean!” Luke piped up as soon as he stepped into the entryway to greet us. “I’d pay for you.” I assumed Luke was trying to be kind, but it hadn’t come out the way he wanted it to, which left us three laughing softly.
“Glad to know. At least I’d have one supporter if my first profession doesn’t work out.” I held my arms out, and Luke was quick to hug me.
“That’s nasty.” Quinn commented, seeing as I put a visual in his head that he certainly didn’t want. “Go talk to Jack about that.” It was a thoughtless quip. One he knew better than to speak after his mother informed him of the situation, but one he hadn’t thought twice about saying because he said similar things all the time. I cringed, and Luke gave me an extra squeeze. I had no clue that either of these boys knew of my situation with Jack. When Luke pulled away, Ellen was standing in the doorway waiting for her turn. We lunged at each other the second we made eye contact, Ellen pulling me into one of the tightest hugs I’d ever received.
“Oh how I missed you!” She laughed softly. “Jim did too, believe it or not.” It was my turn to laugh.
“Where’s he at?” I questioned as we pulled apart.
“In the kitchen with Jack.” My heart sank. I hadn’t been as prepared as I thought I was. “Come on!” Ellen grabbed my hand and led me off down the hall. I drew in a deep breath, soothed by the smell of her cooking, and quickly stressed by the sight of Jack when I stepped into the kitchen with the woman.
“Hey! Birthday girl’s finally here!” Jim shouted, abandoning the pan on the stove to hug me. I laughed at his excitement.
“Jim! I told you to stir that!” Ellen left my side to rush toward the pan. Jim pulled away from me to look back at his wife.
“I just wanted to say hi.”
“I got it, now.” Ellen waved him off, and I found myself giggling at them before my gaze trailed toward Jack, seated at the table with a hopeful smile on his face.
“Hey!” I had to remind myself that he hadn’t really been affected by my confession. That the joy in his tone was from the fact that this was the first time we’d seen each other in a good week and a half. I couldn’t have been farther from the truth. Jack’s hope was merely a cover for how worried he was that our friendship was already falling apart. He was trying to look excited while mentally he berated himself over missing his chance with me.
“Hey, J.” I prayed for a distraction, and thankfully it presented itself when Luke came rushing into the room to grab my arm.
“You have to pick our movie tonight.”
“It’s my turn!” Quinn shouted from the living room.
Jim scoffed and leaned against the counter.
“Quinn and I will compromise on something. We’ve spent the whole day together, I practically know him like the back of my hand now.” I joked softly. “Go tell your brother to calm down.” Luke nodded and slipped back out of the room. I turned to look back at Jim and Ellen.
“Happy birthday.” Jack’s voice made me cringe. I forced a smile and looked toward him to nod, but my brow furrowed when I noticed the falseness in his smile, fidgeting with his hands.
“Dinner will be ready soon, if you kids wanna go sit in the living room and find that movie.” Ellen suggested.
“Got a time estimate on that?” I watched her head whip back in my direction, smiles painting our lips.
“Ten minutes,” she answered with a chuckle. I nodded and swiftly left to find Quinn and Luke in the living room.
“Quinn, hand over the remote.” I held my hand out, and watched Quinn roll his eyes before placing the tv remote in my hand.
“We’ll pick something together.”
“Oh no! It’s your birthday. Nobody wants what I want.” I chuckled at Quinn’s dramatic acting.
“You hit the nail on the head, Q.” I teased, only to earn a glare from him. We spent the next ten minutes arguing over a movie before Ellen called us into the kitchen again. There was a swift prayer said over the food, and Ellen began preparing plates before guiding everybody into the living room. Usually we ate at the table, but seeing as it was a special occasion, Ellen was lenient.
I plopped down on the couch beside Quinn, Luke quickly invading my space on the other side. I’d admit it felt weird, because Jack always sat beside me, but I tried not to think much of it. Until he came into the room and sat in the arm chair diagonal to the couch. We spared each other cautious glances, and Jack flashed me a hopeful smile. He was off. I couldn’t understand why.
“So,” Ellen spoke when she walked into the living room, sitting on the floor and resting her plate in her lap. “Tell me what you and Quinn did today.”
“She dragged me around until my feet hurt.”
I lightly slapped Quinn’s shoulder, and shot a glare at Luke when he laughed.
“We went to Starbucks first. Then we went to the mall and ran around for a bit. I went ahead and bought a new dress for this fund raiser I have going on next month.”
“I pitched in on that.” Quinn chimed in.
“Yes. He technically got me two things.”
“Yeah, but the beanie didn’t cost much.” He reasoned, and I shrugged.
“Anyways,” I smiled. “We stopped at Walmart after and got a small cake to share-“
“That she dropped.”
“On accident!” Luke started laughing once again, and I shot him another dirty glare. Jim seemed just as amused, and I almost expected Jack to laugh too, but when I looked in his direction, he didn’t seem to be paying much attention, merely picking at his food and occasionally looking up. I may have been heartbroken over the fact that he didn’t like me the way I did him, but I hated to see him so off. I hated that I hadn’t been able to spend my birthday with Jack, like we did every year prior.
“It was still good.” I spoke, slightly distracted by my conflicting thoughts about Jack.
“Yeah, I guess so.” Quinn still decided to play difficult.
“Seems like you two had a great day. Jim went out to do some last minute present shopping while I cooked today.” Ellen’s husband looked up at her with wide eyes.
“Damn mom,” Quinn laughed, “throwin’ dad under the bus.”
“More like ran me over.” Jim chimed in, earning a gentle nudge from Ellen.
“You guys didn’t have to get me anything.”
“We always do, hun.” Ellen reasoned, and she wasn’t wrong. The Hughes family always made me feel loved and special. Anybody would have been lucky to be as close to them as I was.
We conversed and discussed various things while we ate, until plates were set aside and conversation slowed. “Alright. I’ll take plates into the kitchen. You guys get the presents out.” Ellen instructed, and I watched everybody stand up and disperse. Everybody except for Jack. I eyed him for a moment, the way he brought his hand to his mouth to bite one of his nails. That spaced out look in his eyes. We started out good. He smiled at me. He greeted me. I pushed him off again…
“You good?” I finally asked.
“Fine.” Jack answered in a flat tone.
“Jack-“ I immediately stopped when Luke returned with his father. Luke held a small bag, and Jim held two wrapped boxes. When Ellen came back, with Quinn, she had a bag in her own hands. Everybody got situated in their spots again after the presents were set on the coffee table.
“Jack, honey, did you get anything?”
The middle boy looked toward his mother, shaking his head.
“I forgot.”
“That’s such a lie! You got her something like two months ago! You haven’t shut up about it since.” Luke was on the receiving end of a hard glare from Jack before the middle brother got up and stepped out of the room.
“I’ll grab it. You guys go ahead and start.” He spoke.
“Open mine first.” Luke suggested, and I nodded. Opening presents always went by quickly with the Hughes. Luke got me a Polaroid camera and a few packs of extra film. Something I never asked for, but was certainly elated to get. A gift that I was excited to use over the summer. Ellen had informed me that her mother had helped with her gift, which happened to be my very own Grandma Hughes blanket. With three little logos in the bottom, being the teams the boys play for, and my name embroidered in cursive on the other corner. Jim had gotten me a mug and tried to tie it in with his wife’s gift. I assured him the mug would be put to good use, and that I loved it. When it came down to Jack, Ellen called for him. We waited for a while before she let out a sigh.
“I’ll go find him.”
“Let me do it.” I slowly stood up from the couch. Ellen smiled at me and nodded. I didn’t expect my birthday to go by as smoothly as it did, but I knew there was tension between Jack and I. We just needed to talk. When I got up to his bedroom, I gently knocked on the door before pushing the cracked door open. Jack was on his bed, staring down at a little box and twisting a lock of hair between his fingers.
“Jack?” I must have startled him, hearing the gasp he drew in as he looked up at me. He looked teary eyed.
“I’m fine.” He insisted before I asked, his hand falling away from his hair. “I got this for you.” He held out the box, but it was the last thing I was interested in when my best friend looked absolutely heartbroken. I took the box from his hand and set it down on his nightstand.
“What’s going on?” I sat down on the edge of his bed. “Just a bad day?”
“A bad week.” I bit down on my bottom lip. I knew it was my fault. “I missed you.” He looked down at his bed.
“I’m sorry Jack.. I should have made time to spend with you.”
“It’s okay.” He sniffled. “You were upset.. it’s my fault. I ruined it.” I raised a brow.
“What did you ruin, Jack?”
“Our friendship.”
“Jack it’s not your fault. I shouldn’t have asked you that question anyway. If anything it’s on me.. and if you don’t feel the same, it’s fine-“
“I like you too.” Jack’s voice came out in a whisper.
“You don’t have to lie now.” I felt the tears spring to my eyes, looking away.
“No I mean it. I do. I was afraid- in the beginning.. I got scared. I didn’t wanna lose you. I’ve liked you for- for forever. But I was afraid it would ruin our friendship.” I tensed when I felt Jack’s hand rest on my thigh. “I wanna be with you so bad.”
I looked back at him, my brow knitted together in disbelief. “Are you sure?” I wiped the tears from my eyes.
“So sure.” Jack looked up at me, and the silence was almost deafening. “I’m sorry I messed this whole thing up.” His eyes trailed back down to the bed, but I was quick to cup his jaw in my hand, bringing his attention back to myself.
“You didn’t mess anything up, Jack.” I insisted. “Just added a few pages to a chapter that could have ended a week ago.” I joked gently.
“I guess so.”
“Oh, stop that.” I gently rubbed his cheek with my thumb. “We’re on the same page now. There’s nothing to worry about.” I shimmied up the length of his bed and leaned back against the headboard. “Come here.” I patted the space next to myself, and Jack quickly moved up to sit beside me. I grabbed the small box from his nightstand and rested it in my lap. He still seemed a bit upset, but I had no doubt he was only beating himself up. He glanced down at the small box in my lap.
“I can return it if you don’t like it.” He spoke softly, but the last thing I wanted to do was return a gift from the boy who just confessed his love for me.
“You know I never return a Jack Hughes birthday gift.” I reminded him as I slowly tore the colorful wrapping paper off. I tried to fight the excitement in my chest when I felt the velvet on the box. It was jewelry.
Jack leaned into my side, one of his hands resting gently against the side of my thigh while I lifted the box and slowly opened it. My heart raced. I gasped. I sat up so quickly that Jack’s teeth chattered when my shoulder hit the underside of his jaw.
“Oh my god!”
“You like it?” Jack asked as he rubbed his face. I turned to look at him.
“It’s beautiful! Jack you have to put it on!” I quickly removed the cushion the necklace sat on. A dainty silver chain with an equally dainty heart charm on it. Something tiny, but elegant in its own manner. I removed the necklace from the cushion and handed it over to him.
“Where’d you find it?” I asked while he worked on undoing the clasp.
“New Jersey. My mom helped me find it for you when she visited last.” He wrapped the necklace around my neck, and I had trouble containing my smile. Once he got the clasp redone, I reached up to run my fingers across the chain.
“I was afraid you wouldn’t like it when I got it.. ‘cause it looked like something for a couple-“ I turned back in Jack’s direction and wrapped my arms around him, pulling him into a hug.
“God it’s a good thing we like each other then, huh?” Jack’s silence made me slowly pull away.
“Huh?”
“Because it’s a thing for a couple.” I reminded him of his previous words, and it seemed to take Jack a moment to understand before a smile parted his lips.
“We can do that?”
“Absolutely we can.” I allowed my arms to hang lazily over his shoulders.
“Man, I was so nervous.. I thought you’d change your mind or- god I don’t know..”
“Jack.” I leaned forward and pressed a kiss to the corner of his lips. “I have loved you for years now. My mind was made up a long time ago.” His big smile was such a contrast to the frown from before.
“You’re sure?”
“Ask me one more time, Hughes.” I whispered.
“You’re sure?”
I slowly leaned in and pressed a kiss to his lips.
“As sure as it gets, lovely.”

You cheated on her to see if she actually cares about you?” “She doesn’t…she just kicked me out…Chrissy kissed me you know? You’re outside her house begging for her to love you…but why would she ever let you into her house or her heart again…when she was actually madly in love with you what did you do? You fucked my wife…just to see if your actual wife would care? You’re a sick motherfucker Steve and you need to leave.” “Madly in love with me? Are you fucking joking?” “Does it look like I’m joking?” “She’s never been madly in love with me Eddie…she’s just been too stupid-” “don’t you ever call her stupid you fucking asshole.” “Jesus Christ…I think….I think you broke my nose.” “I didn’t…we’d both know if I did….now fucking leave before I do actually decide to break something of yours…” “I just want her to love me…like she loves you.” “Well…can’t say she’s gonna love me when I go in there and tell her I punched you in the face…I just need you to know something Harrington.” “What?” “She doesn’t love me the way she loved you…she didn’t marry me…she married you…she didn’t pick me…she picked you…not because she needed a place holder but because she fucking loved you.” “What?…what? No…no that’s not-” “it is true…she loved you man…but you fucked it all up…” “I…I gotta…I gotta go.” “Bout fucking time…oh and tell Chrissy all this shit about not loving her will ya? She is convinced you’re in love with her and want your happily ever after with her…but do it..gently please…” “Uh yeah…okay…yeah I’ll…do it gently…tell her I love her?….please?” “No…now goodnight Steve…go take a cold shower and have a cup of black coffee and you’ll be fine…send me the bill for the dry cleaning to get the blood out of your shirt…”

thank you for being born
Tumblr media
word count: 0.6k
warnings: nothing, just fluff :)
notes: sorry i haven’t been posting much but here’s a one-shot for my favourite boy, MARK LEE <3 happiest birthday to the most hardworking, crazy talented, passionate, beautiful mark lee :”) i love him so much, he is literally the reason i’m insane and delusional!!! but truly, i wish nothing but the best for him because he deserves every good thing in this world <3
anyway, i hope you all enjoy this even though it’s short and quite self-indulgent hehe! will be posting more soon~
Tumblr media
Mark sends you a text, telling you that he was in the car, on the way home to you. He got no reply however, which doesn’t surprise him. It is late after all. His schedule finally ended for the day and he sits beside his manager in the car, waiting to be dropped off in silence.
He greets his manager a quick ‘goodnight’ before he scrambles out of the car and to the front door. Mark punches in the passcode to unlock the door, the beeping sound resonating in the quiet of the night. He pushes against the door once it unlocks to let himself in and he frowns at your absence on the couch.
Your sleeping figure is usually what greets him every night when he returns home late after a long day of work. Your cheek squished against the couch cushion and a blanket draped over your small figure. Sometimes Mark would give himself a few seconds just to admire your sleeping figure, marvelling at your beauty even when you’re sound asleep before he wakes you up to lead you back into your shared bedroom.
But the couch is empty and you’re nowhere to be seen. “Babe? Y/n, I’m home…” Mark calls out as he drags his feet, walking past the kitchen and still no sight of you. He wonders if you went out and didn't tell him, or maybe you simply fell asleep in the bedroom tonight. He calls out your name one more time as he opens the door to your shared bedroom.
And there you were, standing just a few feet away from the door in the dim room, a small cake with lighted candles in hand. You have the brightest smile on your face and he can tell you can’t hide your excitement. Mark’s facial expression mirrors yours and he can’t help the chuckle he lets out.
“Happy birthday to you~” you begin to sing softly as Mark finally puts the backpack that was hanging off his shoulder down by the door, clapping lightly along to your singing. You let out a soft ‘wooo’ as you finished the song and Mark let out a hushed giggle at your little cheer at the end.
“What’s all this?” Mark teases as you hold the cake out closer to him. “I wanted to surprise you for your birthday, quick make a wish!”
You look up at Mark with anticipation, the flames from the candles makes you look like you’re glowing in the dim room. Mark gazes at you, his smile never leaving his face as he slowly closes his eyes and clasps his hands together. He opens his eyes a few seconds later and blows out the candles.
Once the lights are turned back on, Mark carefully takes the cake from you to place it down on his computer desk before pulling you in for a hug. “Thank you baby, I really appreciate it,” Mark mumbles into your neck as he leans into you. You hold him close, swaying from side to side as the both of you refuse to pull away just yet, “Thank you for being born.”
It wasn’t anything extravagant but it was everything to Mark and he feels himself getting a little emotional. He’s just so grateful to have someone like you by his side to celebrate another year of life with him. Mark’s heart swells with love for you and he wonders if he can ever express in words how much he really adores you.
But for now, he pulls away just to place his forehead gently against yours as he whispers an “I love you” against your lips, hoping these three words would suffice. You don’t quite say anything back, only leaning in to capture his lips in a sweet kiss, letting him know that you love him too.

i’ve realized recently how lucky i am that i was raised in a very open-minded, spiritual household.
while we went to church every week, no one told me about God or any sort of religious theology, because i was a child. i was sent to play in the nursery rather than listen and watch people cry on the stage about different religions and how they hope God or whoever they believe in gives them a break. i’m not describing it well, it was a while ago at our Unitarian Universalist church.
Mom and Dad only told me about how our family is pagan about a couple years ago, until then i hardly knew what religion i was supposed to follow, because Mom only talked about how i am the one who will change things for myself. i am the one who has to take action, even if i’ve blessed everything i own, i have to begin the changes myself, the rocks can’t do that for me.
anyways, about a year ago i told my mom about shifting, and it turns out she actually had already known about it. before that even, my therapist asked about it because another client was talking about it. i really wanted to ask who but, i knew she wouldn’t be able to tell me. i’ve even talked to my sister about shifting, she’s a bit weirded out by it, but she’s still open to the idea. i haven’t told Dad about it though, even though i tell him quite literally everything, i’m nervous to bring it up.
mom thinks about it as a sort of timeline type of thing, which is mildly confusing, but she still encourages me. it’s a bit awkward when she brings it up when the doctor talks about hallucinations, but she clarifies that it’s not a hallucination, and it seems like the psychiatrists believe us when we say it’s real.
when i see anti-shifters say that it’s just us being delusional, i’m reminded of how literally every medical professional that i’ve told about shifting, haven’t verbally questioned that it’s real.
i dunno where i was going with this. sorry guys, another ramble. i’m not good at long posts 😕 i’m gonna go to bed now, goodnight y’all 🤍

oooh I see you’re taking requests for my favorite prince
this is kind of a stereotypical plot, but perhaps if you wouldn’t mind, what if Nikolai has a friend that’s in love with him. one day, she sees him being more nice than usual with the latest visiting princess that his parents have asked him to court, and it makes her very upset. she knew they’d never really work out, but she had always had a sliver of foolish hope that was just crushed. she doesn’t want to risk being openly rude to anyone, so she just kind of. avoids him. for a while. he notices of course and eventually coaxes a confession out of her
jeoejqlfbd that was kind of long, sorry!
Ugh that sounds lovely
Tumblr media
Nikolai was going to marry a princess.
He was a prince, after all, and even though you had been his closest friend since childhood, it never bothered you until the recent years when he’d treat you the way he would a sibling, never inclined to romantic gestures or physical touch in the way you wanted him.
But that night was the absolute last straw.
The girl was stunning, of course, and you didn’t blame him for his attentions, but…it hurt to see the man you were in love with flirting shamelessly with the Shu princess, his hands reaching out to touch her hand, to adjust a strap on her dress, his eyes bright and his grin flashing.
You swallowed, knocking back your drink—you’d gotten your hands on the vodka, somehow, while everyone else sipped wine—and strode towards the Queen, giving her the respectful nod she deserved.
“Goodnight, Your Majesty.” You said, refusing to meet the woman that had always treated you like a daughter’s eye. The queen reached out to lay an affectionate hand on your cheek before she bid you Goodnight, and you strode towards the exit, your breath beginning to shorten in your chest.
His hands on her. His smile. Saints, you felt delusional, but—
“Hey, hey,” Nikolai was there, suddenly, grinning down at you, and a flash of rage you had no business feeling rose up so white and hot you almost saw stars. “where are you going? I need my strongest ally to beat the princess’ guards when we play cards later.” He paused, then, taking in your expression, and his eyebrows furrowed together. “Y/N?”
“Why don’t you team up with the princess.” You snapped, instantly regretting your tone when he flinched. “I’m sure she would love to help you out.” In more ways than one. You muttered, unable to control yourself, and pushed past him towards the hall.
Your rooms, that’s what you needed. Just a bit of rest and maybe a nightcap and something to read and—
Nikolai grabbed your hand and you yanked it away, almost pulling your wrist out of the socket with the movement. His eyes were wide and hurt as he stared at you, that gorgeous blue gaze of his filled with an unspoken question.
“Don’t—don’t touch me.” Your voice was too low for anyone but him to hear but you two were beginning to gather some stares. Unwilling to embarrass him or yourself by causing a scene you left, choking down the tears that threatened to spill at any minute.
You’d barely made it to your rooms before he caught up to you, carrying a bottle of champagne in one hand and a box in the other. You didn’t speak as you let yourself into your rooms, then pulled out two glasses, allowing him to fill them both as you walked away towards the window.
“Want to tell me why you’re pissed?” He asked, his tone careful. “Did someone say something? Because I’ll—”
“More like you did something.” Gods, you were practically drunk. This was so, so, stupid. He was your favorite person alive and this was your reaction? Over a girl?
Nikolai was silent for several long seconds before he moved towards you, offering the parcel in his hands out to you. That’s when you noticed his face was flushed, a line of sweat on his forehead, and the tightness in your chest eased a fraction.
“Did you run here?”
“Had to get this.” He explained, pushing the box into your hand. “Come on, take it.”
You hesitated for a long beat, eyes holding his, then opened the lid of the box and gasped. It was a copy of your favorite book, the expensive looking edition shining with threads of gold and green, and you looked up wordlessly, unsure of what to say.
“I um..” he started, looking for the first time you’d ever seen him embarrassed, and ran a hand over the back of his neck. “I was waiting for the right time. I had a whole grand gesture thing planned but um..” he cleared his throat awkwardly and looked at you. “Why are you mad at me? What did I do?”
“You—” you set the gift down and looked away, that familiar ache in your chest rising back up. He was your best friend. He was—he was—
Hands. Eyes. Smile.
No. Not yours.
“You and that—that girl—”
“What girl?”
“The princess you idiot.” You snapped, chest heaving as you gasped for a breath. “She’s beautiful and—and you—and I can’t be around to watch. I won’t.”
Nikolai stared with a stricken expression for a long moment before moving carefully forward, reaching out to take one of your hands in his. He shook his head slowly as if that conveyed the answers to your questions and sighed.
“I was being polite.” He said, and you almost ripped your hand free. “I’m supposed to peacock around when they come. What am I to do? Be an ass? Is that what you want?” He stepped closer, getting into your face. “All I want is to kiss the hell out of you in front of every stupid, sniveling courtier in there, but I can’t. So please find it in your vast heart to tolerate a bit of posturing and play cards with me when I beg you to. I cant do this alone.”
You felt out of breath, staring up at the blatant desire in his eyes, but felt more confused and sad than anything.
“What are you saying to me?” You asked, voice quiet.
He reached up to run a hand over your hair and pull you closer, that familiar, gorgeous grin crossing his features. Gods, you’d fallen in love with those features. You loved everything about him.
“I’m saying I need you on my team, Y/N.” He told you, pressing his forehead lightly against yours before pulling back. “Stop brooding and maybe I’ll let you kiss me as punishment later.”
You scoffed and followed him towards the door then froze when he suddenly whirled, grasping your face and pressing his mouth hard against yours faster than you could register. You opened your eyes, dazed, heart having had dropped into your ass, and that stupid, cocky smirk of his was all over his face.
“For the record,” he started, before tugging you both back to the party. “I care about you, too.”
Hello hello I hope this was to your liking! Short but I had fun writing it <3

📼 :: the adults are talking, the strokes.
“i know you think of me when you think of her.”
The moon was finally alighting the sacred scene lurking at above. The light was prominent, the sheer cold brush of the air was somehow palpable.
Thankfully, a sheet of warm blanket was shielding you from the chill of the dead night—maybe off. Your eyes hit up at the ceiling, blank as your mind dances in circles. Like a sound box twisting to sing the birds alibi, the plucking strings of a soft lyre. Starry eyes delusional of burning stars shooting across the dark blue skies, it wasn’t a shot of a firing bullet which is something to appreciate the green lucky clover. A sigh escaping your lips as the clocked ran towards the next racing number. The door gently creaked, both gazes meeting. One was discreet, one was nonchalant. Blinking twice, Dazai chuckles as he opens the door wide to display his model figure.
“You seriously thought I was asleep? I saw those eyes of yours.” Your words lazy spewing out of your mouth as he plops himself on the bed with a satisfied sigh. “It wasn’t like I was planning something mischievous. Or was I?” A smirk rewinding on his face as you groan in annoyance. A weird sense of aroma filling the quiet room, you note. “By the way you smell like dead fish, go change.” You mutter as he gasps offensively, a tinge of lingering sarcasm toning in his voice. “How dare of you to say that to the charming, one and only Dazai Osamu?!” He stands up, for dramatic effect he crosses his arms in front of his broad chest. “Don’t be a drama queen, or I’ll make you go to the bathroom myself.” Rubbing your eyes to clear out the fog blurring your sight. “Okay, okay fine. Anything for you, your highness.” He winks as his steep steps finally lead to the bathroom. You wait, again. To wait for this man to come out high and mighty as he says.
Just as you close your eyes, a shifting figure lays beside you. A hand tracing your hipbone in a lovingly manner, chaste kisses on your forehead, cheek, and a quick peck on your lips. You remain to play pretend with his games, a genuine smile being felt on your heated skin. “Dazai..” You mumble out as he peppers more little kisses on your cheeks feeling his wamrth, he tilts your chin up as he tastes your flavor. A deep sigh letting out in relief. An arm wrapping around your back as he pulls away. Head on his chest, as he runs his fingers through your hair. Mustering, tone lacing affection, he says,
“Goodnight. Sleep well, my dear.”

I know y’all are probably sick of me in the Haikaveh tag lol but here’s another unhinged post about them:
The way Alhaitham’s so fucking TRANSPARENT in caring for Kaveh will never not make me sick
Like, maybe before you could make an argument about him genuinely disliking the man. I wouldn’t agree at all, but I’d understand where you’re coming from…
But after the Interdarshan Event? Where someone notorious for being self-centered, unambitious, and hates doing more than is required investigated a whole-ass man to give his roommate closure about his deep-seated trauma? I’m sorry but I will have problems with you lol. Because it’s like we aren’t even playing the same game at that point. You can’t even argue that Alhaitham was only interested in Sachin’s research, and learning he knew Kaveh’s father was just a byproduct of his investigation. When they have that conversation, Kaveh says the research wasn’t enough to interest Alhaitham and he doesn’t deny it—and then PROCEEDS TO TELL HIM ABOUT HIS FATHER.
So basically, if you’re thinking to yourself “gee, why would someone like Alhaitham do all that seemingly just for Kaveh?”, the answer you’re looking for is because HE LOVES HIM!!! That’s the truth and Mihoyo can confirm this (real).
In all seriousness, though, I do think Mihoyo is either teasing us or trying to confirm them as subtly as possible with the restrictions they’re facing (like with their plethora of lesbian couples in Honkai). Or idk, maybe I’m just delusional 💀 I do know one thing, though!!!
Alhaitham loves Kaveh yes sir end of story goodbye goodnight good morning depending on where you live alright sleep well 😘

can you do one where yn is dating someone else but is cheating on them with klaus and he feels possessive over her even though she belongs to someone else?
Tumblr media
You
Y/n knew she shouldn’t be there. She had someone who loved her, she was happy with her small life.
But the she met Klaus, his witty comments and charming voice. She had told him she was taken and in a happy relationship but he said that he still wanted her regardless.
Now she lay against his cloud-like mattress with his impressive length buried inside her, lips on hers, tongues entwined as they both grew drunk on the taste of each other. He whispered in her ear just how angelic she was, how perfect she fit in his hands while he filled her tight walls. She couldn’t help but yell out his name when she released around him, he groaned and kissed her once again while still rocking against her fragile body.
Doing it once was a mistake.
Doing it twice, three times, four, five, too many to count. She felt awful and amazing at the same time. She knew she had to stop with one of them. Either the person who she went home to each day, the one who ate dinner with her and told her about their day while watching tv or the person she would go to when she felt alone, the one who sent her little messages of how gorgeous she was. ‘good morning my love’ ‘goodnight my heart’.
When Klaus was with her he felt complete. He only wished he could have her for himself, he was in not position to ask her to pick. He after all was the one who had ruined her easy life. Her once simple and flawless relationship. He had wanted her for himself, he’d had her in as many ways as he could in an attempt to memorise her beauty but it wasn’t enough. He needed you to be his, to stay with him day and night. He wouldn’t need to text you if he could just tell you.
Y/n wondered into the compound calling for her secret lover. He appeared in-front of her in an instant and kissed her lips only to be gently pushed away and seeing her pained expression
“y/n? my love what’s the matter?” he asked softly grasping her hands
“this. us. Klaus i can’t do this anymore, i’ve been a terrible person, i can’t keep hurting you and them, even if they don’t know, i do and i’m hurting myself as-well, it’s not working anymore” she spoke so quietly he struggled to understand it all
“you’re picking them over me?” he questioned hurt evident in his voice
“they love me” she responded
“not as much as i love you, i can guarantee you that” he spoke pulling her closer
“you don’t though Klaus… you love the thought of me and you love my body but-“
“you think i’m just here for your body? y/n no, i love you. I want you. All the time, i don’t care if we aren’t having sex, if we aren’t making love. I can express my admiration in many ways. Besides think of the days we’ve spent just sitting and chatting, i was still in love with you then. Its not the thought of you y/n. it’s just you” he was nearly crying now and holding her as close to his body as he could, their foreheads almost touching as he looked down at her
“but i’m not yours” she whispered
he frowned deeply and pushed his lips to hers, she struggled for a second before giving in and letting him kiss her, he lifted her body having her wrap her legs around his midsection and he carried her upstairs, he slid is tongue into her. mouth reclaiming her taste as he let her rest on the bed with him over the top of her. He nipped along her jaw and pressed her against the mattress
“if you’re not mine then why do you always come back? if you’re not mine why is it my face you picture wen you’re playing house with that fool, you think he loved you even a fraction of what i do? you’re delusional and in denial. You love me as much as i love you! You know that you do, it’s cruel to pretend otherwise” his tone grew harsher the more he spoke, his eyes hardening and his grip becoming firmer
“you know that i care about you-“
“love me” he corrected
“love you… you know that i love you. But Klaus even once i break it off with them i still can’t be with you, it wouldn’t be fair” she told him gently pushing him so that they were both sat up though he wouldn’t let her leave his lap
“I need you” he stated
“but i’m not yours to need”
“you are mine, you’ve always been mine. The first time we met when you flashed me your pretty smile, the first time we kissed when you grabbed my hair to keep me still, the first time we made love and you told me that it was the best you had ever had, and each time from then when i got to learn every little detail about your body, every mark, every bump, everything. I know your favourite colour, favourite food and music style, i could walk into any clothing shop and pick you an outfit, i know you” She watched as he ranted with a wavering voice as he grasped at anything he could find
“you can’t leave me, i love you” he whispered and dropped his head to her neck leaving open mouthed kisses, he chose a spot and began softly sucking the skin, her fingers wove into his curled and held him there as he sucked a little harder before moving over and repeating his actions a few times before leaning back to look at the display of love bites and brushing over them with his thumb
“now everyone will know you belong to me” he uttered nodding to himself
“i never meant to hurt anyone” y/n whispered
“if they love you the way that you say they do them they will understand. Let me take you out, properly we don’t have to have do to anything else, just a date and then you can decide if i’m really not for you”
“okay…”
“i love you, you don’t have to say it back because i know that you do” he reassured holding her tighter
“i do”
