Laid out in front of you was the rope and blindfold that Colson commonly used on you when you both wanted to get a little freaky in the bedroom, accompanied by a role of duct tape that he had thrown in there.

Usually, Colson was very dominant of you in the bedroom. You didn’t mind though, you liked it when he got rough and dominant. It was just how things worked. But, he had told you he wanted to try something new, and that something new included him being the submissive one for once.

OKAY THIS IS GONNA GET LONG SO IT IS GOING UNDER A CUT. Also, a very evident tw for issues with body image, weight, eating disorders, emotional abuse & things of that nature so please read this at your discretion. I will state however this is important to why Barbie is the way she is and why she acts the way she is.

It depends on the day. Barbie loves herself and the world to a degree but at the same time Barbie does hate herself. And she hates what she looks like. A lot of this has to do with the fact Barbie was in modeling since she was a child and some of it also has to do with the fact Barbie was a corpo. She struggles a lot with the acceptance of other people genuinely liking her and this stems from her issues with her parents. When Barbie was a toddler and her beauty was commented on constantly and finally realized by her parents who had been absent for most of her life until that point they only got involved because she was a pretty kid. They got involved because their daughter was pretty and that meant she could be famous which meant they could climb ladders in a Corporate settings, especially if they were her managers. Which is exactly what they did.

Barbie’s parents never told her they loved her. They did, one time, actually and it was after she got her contract with a company under Arasaka when she was 17. They didn’t look at her when they said it though. They looked past her to the pen and paper on the desk. They loved where they had positioned themselves and were now actually being asked to manage more and other people under similar contracts to their daughter. This also contributed to why Barbie doesn’t have a last name and her scans only read as Barbie. She wants to just be an entity a person that just helps, she doesn’t want to be a big name forever because of Star Marion, herself, always being Star Marion. Never Star, never herself. The Marion’s being big corporate managers, the ones who made the super model industry. They made it by using Barbie for her beauty and she hates that, she hates that she and her family were such big contributors to a quick hack in how to get up the Corpo ladder, it makes her sick, and she sees parents sometimes when she wakes up in the morning and looks in the mirror.

Growing up Barbie had a really strict life that was schedule down to the second. She had set times to shower, set times to eat and a set thing of what and how much she could eat. Barbie struggled to eat due to this, she either ate too quickly because of her schedule and then had to run and do a lot of things which made her really sick or, the food wasn’t enough and she effectively had trauma team show up a few times because she slowly became extremely sick which often resulted in losses of consciousness on sets or while doing daily tasks. Barbie’s parents had them all moved to a location where Trauma Team wouldn’t be as noticed and it was easier to cover up. Eventually her parents were able to strike a deal with Trauma Team if Barbie was involved a better more quiet way to handle her situation. Barbie’s health was always blamed on her and not her schedule or her eating or her habits of it. This reflects really heavily when she opens Dreamhouse, the reason she makes a lot of food available at low prices is so people get to actually eat. While Barbie still struggles to make sure she eats enough or at all on most given days she has gotten a lot better especially with help from people she has opened up to about her issues with eating and drinking water. It’s a lot easier now that she is running a bar and is around them a lot but she often times got sick or threw up while she was working for her parents because of that stuff. It was never noticed and she kept it under really good wraps but she struggled with it a lot.

Barbie also heavily struggles with her identity and her beauty while she is in Night City. This is really evident in her drastic quick gain of tattoos and cyberwear. Barbie got 43 tattoos in a really quick time span, the cover her body and are all sticker based and childish like, you can see all of them on her pin board here. Her cyberwear is on her neck, her temple different sections of her arms as she does have monowires, her palms both of them for tech guns and an extensive amount to help with her durability in her skelton and nervous systems. It brings her a feeling of strength and like my body is mine and isn’t being used for cash money but it doesn’t last long which is why it got out of hand so quickly. The problem is that this also happened the few weeks that she first started out on her own, Barbie threw herself into Night City, and she threw herself into it hard while she was away from her boys (King & Val) and when she sees them again she looks completely different. Obviously she tells them she wants that Night City look but in reality the reason Barbie got her tattoos and got her cyberwear was to try and convince and feel like she had control over her own image and her body. It’s gotten a lot better the longer she has been on her own and in Night City however, sometimes she stands in her penthouse and just stares at herself in the mirror. She has a lot of moments of kind of just these out of body experience and she sat there once for a few hours because she just didn’t feel like she was like in control of how she looked and what she looked like. The way Barbie feels about her body is always really complex because of the way beauty standards are and have always been in the world.

Something that is really important to note though is that not everything that came from that experience and what this has done to her has been negative. Part of why Barbie does everything she can to be nice in Night City is because of how unkind the modeling world and corpo world was to her. She hurts, she struggles with her self image and her identity but she is using that as a way to get herself to where she needs to be in order to destroy what put that in her life. Barbie made Dreamhouse have a greeter station so people would get complimented and feel cared for when they answer the question of the day. Barbie compliments people constantly, genuinely too it isn’t the, your really pretty compliments, she will sit there and in the middle of a conversation go, I love the way you do x I think it’s beautiful and inspiring. She pushes herself to do that in order to help promote better thinking of herself and other people. If she can find something to love about everyone she meets then she can find one thing to love about herself. And she does. It was a couple months after this she started writing all over the mirrors in her house things she liked about herself, she cleans them off every month to make new lists but she writes until they are full.

When it comes to the question of if being attractive is important to her that’s just as complex a relationship as how she feels about her body. Barbie was taught from the moment she was born that her beauty was everything. Her relationship with her parents stemmed from it, her career came from it her value in the world was because she was pretty. She knows being as attractive as she is as a fixer is helpful too even if she doesn’t admit it, she knows and it sucks but that’s the world. She tries to use the eddies to make it seem more like that but the status of her being attractive and paying well is what brings people to her. Barbie hates to say it, and even things it but with herself but being attractive means something, and it always will. Deep down, she knows that the only reason it means anything is because the people who were supposed to love her, and never did put so much weight on it and part of Barbie is still desperate for the love of family, for love in general that throwing away how she looks is too much. She destroyed Star Marion to be here, but she could and can never destroy the importance of her own beauty and it literally kills her. She hates herself for it. How attractive other people are carries little weight though, she is a personality person she always has been but when it comes to herself it is the reverse. As bubbly and fun and happy is she is Barbie struggles with her own happiness, self love and joy because of how much weight she puts on her own beauty. And honestly that is not her fault but literally because of how she was raised.

It has gotten a lot better because of her friends, again mainly with the acceptance of herself as Star and then as Barbie with both Val and King, whom have played a significant role in her being able to be happier. To be honest, to see how they both shifted in accepting her when she was Star into how close they became as she became her true self and Barbie has had a really profound impact on how Barbie feels about herself. She is, needless to say most days a lot better because if anything at the end of the day she knows she is good enough for the two most important people in her life and that’s really all that matters. Sure, she has her issues with self love and acceptance because of her parents but most days, the good ones, she is okay with how she is and how she looks because if she fell into a vat of acid and came out like a monster, she knows Val and King would still be around and still love and care for her. And that’s the big one. That’s the important thing. She still keeps her issues with her body image under wraps, and hasn’t said much to them about it, subtle hints here and there but she is, and will always be learning to accept herself and rely less on her looks because of them and learning how to be a person because of them.

Her support system has played a very important role in how Barbie sees herself and is something that is and will always still grow as she develops as a character. She will always struggle with these things but they will get better as time progresses on here and in threads. But this is a very real issue that people in that work and world face and something that is very real for her. The one and only thing Barbie loves about herself, which has become super useful is her height though, and that is the one thing she will always love about herself and is the first thing she likes to bring up if the question is ever asked. So it isn’t all negative or bad thoughts, a lot of it is, but that doesn’t mean it all is.

Cure for the Curse

I kinda like emulating the passiveness of the game's writing by not having the master actually speak so we're gonna roll with that for at least this story, will definitely/most likely change for other ideas.

Sitting at his desk, Gilgamesh tosses a book back into his gate, the contents of it easily understood by him but his lack of practice in his caster form made casting magic belonging to the Age of the Gods nigh impossible without some error or repercussions.

Which led to his current predicament of his master's constant fawning over Siegfried.

His revenge for being humiliated from his master's betrayal on Valentine's was unsuccessful. Cursing Siegfried to fatten up only led to his master spending more time and attention on him. Now he, the great King of Uruk, has less time with his master in Chaldea. The main benefit from his curse led to Siegfried being pulled out of all battles. Now Gilgamesh was the single team leader and the one who his master rightfully fawned over.

The hole in their formation from Siegfried no longer being fit for battle led to summoning attempts from his master. To Gilgamesh's anger, his master had summoned Yan Qing, the assassin worming his way to his master's heart. Now even Gilgamesh's time with his master in battle was split between him and Yan Qing. And his already split time with his master in Chaldea was split further from this new servant. Gilgamesh still ranks first, which is only what he cares about he lies to himself, he has no reason to curse Yan. But the assassin still infuriates him, Yan beneath his master.

Right on time, Gilgamesh smirks at the knock on his door, his master on time. Gracious enough to allow him in, Gilgamesh announces that his door is unlocked.

Rather than his master, Yan enters the room.

Gilgamesh internally groans, his clairvoyance failing him again now that the end of the world was averted and 2018 now a reality previously thought impossible to come.

"State your reason, then leave," Gilgamesh turns back to his books.

"Master's not visiting today. He fell asleep and he wanted me to tell you," Eyes narrowed, Yan doesn't leave.

"Useless information; I'm busy enough without visitors, next time inform him to not waste my time,"

"Master said you'd be upset regardless of whether I told you or not. He wanted you to not waste your time looking for him," Taking Gilgamesh's tightened shoulders as a warning, Yan takes his leave. Or pretends to, stopping at the door. "I know you cursed Siegfried," Yan smirks, taking a confident step to leave.

The door slams shut, Yan still inside who rapidly turns to face Gilgamesh.

Standing up from his seat, Gilgamesh sighs as he glares down at the shorter man.

"Have you informed anyone else?" Forehead furrowing, Gilgamesh holds his sigh as he taps his foot against the floor.

"No. It's fun-"

"How did you discover this?" Rubbing his temples, Gilgamesh sighs.

"An assassin has to keep some secrets. I will say that I learned on my own, no help from anyone else," Not willing to divulge further, Yan crosses his hands behind his head, smiling at the ever frustrated Gilgamesh.

"If that's all," Gilgamesh throws his axe at Yan. Sensing his doom far ahead of time, Yan says a goodbye before disappearing swiftly, Gilgamesh's axe lodging itself into his wall.

Cursing at his misfortune, two servants now knowing of his actions, Gilgamesh counts to ten. The number ten leaving his lips, Gilgamesh sighs, shoulders sagging.

He could curse Yan, but with the revelation of his master appreciating Siegfried's newfound girth, Gilgamesh has no idea what curse would even work. Ignoring Yan and focusing on the root of the problem, Siegfried, he clenches his cheek, his blood boiling.

Thinking about Da Vinci's marvels with inventions, she'd perhaps help, at a cost. Whatever the cost Gilgamesh could easily pay it hundred times over, the only costly thing to him being his pride. Saving Da Vinci as a last resort, he resumes his research, his treasury providing the finest to offer.

"Master," Siegfried keeps his gaze focused on the floor. Being his master's original servant, Siegfried had the honors of being the favorite and thus was always found in his master's room. That changed once Gilgamesh had been summoned, the two swapping the spot often. Their split role was split once again upon Yan's arrival much later.

Even with his expanding waistline, Siegfried still shared the spot with Gilgamesh and Yan, but he was too oblivious to notice that he had been recieving extra attention as of late.

"You should dismiss me. A servant like I am is of no use to you," shifting in his spot, Siegfried winces at the strain on his master's bed. The mattress never meant for someone his size. He would never think about sitting on it but his master's insistence made him feel ungrateful to not do as his master asked.

Hearing his master's insistence on keeping him, Siegfried sighs. "Sorry," Siegfried jerks up upon the light scrape of his master's chair. Facing his master, Siegfried rises to stand up only for a hand to gently place itself on his shoulder.

Siegfried merely sighs once more, this time a slight smile adorning his face as his master praises him, claiming that Siegfried already served sufficiently by defeating Solomon. His master's hands on his fat cheeks, a smile on his master's face as he squishes and prods at them before they wander to his stomach, Siegfried remains quiet, a blush dusting his face.

Walking straight into Da Vinci's workshop is typically setting up one's self for a lecture or getting kicked out by one of inventions. So unless you're expected by her or one of her usuals, one of the mentioned two will happen. Servants are no exception to this.

Ignoring the warnings from his teammates, the only one to not warm him being Gilgamesh, Yan Qing happily takes a step into Da Vinci's workshop. Immediately halted by a small robot, Yan smiles at the thing. Ready to punch it, his hand becomes ensnared by the robot's vice grip. Using his free hand to punch the robot, Yan frees himself to kick it. Foot making contact with the robot sent flying, five others of the same model come to its aid.

Backing up, Yan crouches. Ducking, he dodges a staff from his right.

Da Vinci scowls at him as she powers off her robots. "Next time, don't attack my inventions," Ignoring him, she checks up on the robot he kicked. "Minimal damage, right arm seems," muttering to herself, Yan ignores her.

"How did you know Gilgamesh cursed Siegfried?" Yan keeps his distance, eyes on the turned off robots.

"Magical traces. I am a genius after all. I can't allow dangerous things to happen to the servants without knowing the cause,"

"Do you know how to reverse it?"

"Who's asking? And what do they have it for me?" Back to Yan, Da Vinci smiles.

"I am,"

"I want something from Gilgamesh. Specifically 128 grams of lapis lazuli, 13 grams of emerald, and 39 grams of ruby. He clearly hasn't figured out a cure so get him to come to me," Da Vinci stands up as the robot comes back to life, arm now fixed. "Then I'm sure our master will pay you more attention," she adds, dusting off imaginary dust from her outfit.

Yan disappears, no comment for her last remark.

Marching his way towards Da Vinci's workshop, Gilgamesh ignores all the Chaldean staff that avoid him. He ignores all servants as well.

Yan Qing telling him earlier about Da Vinci's plan convincing to confront her. Bag in hand with the requested material. The only thing Gilgamesh needed convincing was both Yan's and Da Vinci's silence regarding the matter, and their conclusion that the faster Siegfried's curse was remedied, the faster their master would get over him. Not that Gilgamesh visibly reacted to that part, keeping a straight face.

Entering Da Vinci's workshop, Gilgamesh encounters zero robots, Da Vinci for once not working on anything.

Hand outstretched, Da Vinci keeps the smile away from her face, needing the materials.

The bag dumped into her hand, she weighs it out first. Finding even a bit extra of each, she keeps that to herself again, happily accepting the bribe.

"Siegfried will be back to normal by tomorrow morning. Ciao!" Ushering him out, Da Vinci smiles as she begins working out her newest invention.

The next day, to everyone's pleasure minus their master, Siegfried rejoins the team, his fit muscular figure returned.

A week later, with the materials handed over by Gilgamesh, Da Vinci invites her master to her workshop. Revealing a new invention, capable of minimally tampering a servants' saint graph to alter their appearance. All for the, allegedly, low price of 300 saint quartz.

The intention clear to Da Vinci's master, all her terms a fancier way of saying, 'Change how a servant looks!' they agree, their hands slowly handing over the asked quartz. No time to back out, Da Vinci nearly shoves the device into her master's hands and happily escorts them out of her workshop.

All 300 saint quartz in her hand and with a skip in her step, Da Vinci prepares her instruments ready to sketch out the schematics for her next invention.

Very little wg stuff, but wanted to resolve the story and also cliffhanger/segue into the next story that's actually wg based.

Just really needed to write some non-focused wg stories to get back into writng.

When seismic activity starts to rock the village, the local leaders demand the ritual be seen through to its natural conclusion to avoid further angering their gods. Sam's equipment suggests the tremors are caused by an unidentifiable metal, but her science seems to be a point of contention amongst the leaders. She's convinced she needs just a little more time to figure out what is happening on the planet. Unfortunately, that means she's jumping into a ritual marriage with her new commanding officer. What could possibly go wrong?

(I will touch on your major points, but I wanted to condense space by replying like this.)

I don’t need or expect you to go through the other comments and replies I’ve made on and about that post, but if you wanted to confirm what I’m about to say, you will see the evidence of this at every turn; conceptually speaking, I’m pro-vegan.

Veganism can do a lot of good things, and I always make sure I acknowledge that, because, if I’m arguing with someone, my issues never come down to the practice of, or the incentives behind veganism. Besides just animal welfare, veganism could heavily cut back our environmental impact, so even if I didn’t care about rampant animal exploitation in the meat and dairy industry, veganism would still be a quantifiably good choice.

My problem with veganfacts, and the problem I’m addressing with you now in an effort to explain, is the inflammatory language they used.

It was not a fact, it was hyperbole, and right off the bat, the framing they used showed they do not care about context. The act of stripping context and defamiliarizing a nominal task makes their own point superficial, acting as nothing more than a way to flaunt their moral superiority over people who “pay for animals to be abused.”

In that same breath, it could be said that vegans “pay people to enslave and abuse children,” because of the rampant human rights abuses the produce industry is guilty for.

But neither you, nor veganfacts are guilty of endorsing child/forced labor just because the companies that distribute your food to you are guilty of using it.

But if that had been my responding claim to the shot at non-vegans, and then proceeded to push such a claim to undermine everything else you said thereafter, would you think me a good, thoughtful, or kind person?

That framing injects violence and hate into the consumer that just doesn’t exist. It makes a rabid monster out of regular people and twists this entire issue into a moral battle between vegans and non-vegans, and takes the ultimate blame off the companies that commit these atrocities.

And in their effort to do so, it shows just how little care veganfacts has in reaching out to and educating non-vegans. There is no education to be had there. A non-vegan gleans nothing from that statement other than, “Vegans hate non-vegans. Rabidly so.”

Because that’s what you would understand in that statement if the roles were reversed. That is a hateful statement. It’s divisive and stands only to show how little regard that person has for anyone not already living a vegan lifestyle, and they do not represent a majority of vegans.

To claim that that sentiment is universal is a bastardization of what the vegan movement is trying to accomplish.

Vegans want stricter regulations and higher sanctions against those who break them. In all sectors. They do not ostracize potential future vegans by furthering a rhetoric that sees people in a grocery store as the same level of evil and complicit as dog-fighters.

On top of that, it’s ignorant and shows just how little that person cares about understanding or overcoming the roadblocks currently standing in the way of amassing more people to the movement.

i’m kind of confused about the links you posted, because most of them don’t affect the accessibility of plant foods. for example, hunger doesn’t affect what kinds of foods stores carry. of course the cost of the food effects what poor people would be able to buy, but you can easily buy cheap plant foods. unless you mean hunger caused by food deserts or something? but anyway, i agree that veganism would be extremely difficult in food deserts, though there are many cheap junk foods that are “accidentally vegan” such as oreos and potato chips. i of course don’t blame anyone in that situation for depending on takeout and mcdonalds and stuff, though. however, i doubt someone in that kind of situation would have time to complain about veganism when they’re in a stressful environment and need to constantly worry about getting food on the table. if you could spare enough time writing that long post, i’m pretty sure you also have time to think about making different food choices. . .

Now, I don’t know your situation, I’m not going to claim I understand what you have and haven’t faced in your lifetime, but this (and the rest of that section thereafter), does shed light on what seems to be a disjointed understanding of what poverty and restricted food choice actually looks like.

First, while looking through food statistics in the US for those links, there is no statistical data on produce availability, outside of the data they have on food deserts. And not just that I couldn’t find it; there is an actual acknowledged lack of quantifiable data. People have tried, and there’s just no way to account for or normalize any sort of hard figure on these problems from an availability standpoint.

Second, “cheap” is subjective. Your idea of cheap may not be the same as mine if we have different amounts of disposable income after bills. But when it comes to cost vs. calories, non-vegan is always less expensive. Healthy foods are up-sold at a higher price because there’s a internalized notion in capitalistic culture that says “quality” justifies a higher price. It’s worth more, so it costs more, with worth describing a physical necessity, in this case.

To someone without financial security, the question becomes, “what can I buy that will stretch the length of time until my next paycheck?”

That kind of financial insecurity isn’t so stark when you look at who it’s affecting. Imagine a scenario like a family of four in a white suburban neighborhood who can feed all four of them for a days on a boneless ham at a dollar per pound, which is a whole hell of a lot less expensive that a nutritionally comparable plant-based substitute.

Veganism isn’t cost effective, and even if someone can afford the vegan options one week, they are not guaranteed that same outcome the next, so it’s not sustainable.

For you, yeah, maybe it is, but for a majority of Americans, veganism is money and food lost. It’s getting your paycheck and attempting to cut even more room out for the added expense, without even the benefit of gaining you more food per dollar spent, and while also gambling that you’ll have the wiggle room every week to do so. What happens when that one bad week comes and the choice comes down to not being able to feed yourself for the whole week, or having to get sick when you force re-acclimation to meat-based products that’ll at least last until your next paycheck?

That’s an irresponsible risk, and that risk exists entirely because corporations stand to profit off an ideology that makes healthier lifestyle choices like veganism more expensive.

Which makes arguments like this ignorant, at best, and elitist worst:

like the entertainment thing. i know that not everyone can go vegan, but a majority of the people in the world can, so if someone chooses to eat meat when there are millions of other options, then they are doing it for their enjoyment, or as you can also say, entertainment. of course you don’t get entertainment out of what happens to the animals in factory farms, but you are still buying the meat because you enjoy how they taste. the treatment of the animals is just a factor that plays into it.

Removing this to a world-wide argument makes it even worse; 1 in 9 people in the world suffers from chronic undernourishment. And that statistic just accounts for people going hungry. 80% of the world’s population lives on less than $10 a day. That’s ten dollars spread across bills and other expenses beyond just food.

The necessity of meat-based products in most people’s lives is just that; a necessity. So long as veganism remains more expensive than the alternative, that necessity remains.

In both of their replies, veganfacts pushed an unrepentant “us vs them, and they kill animals for fun” kind of ideology. They hold themselves so high above the issue, they, again, twisted the purchase of meat products from a store to sit on par with active animal slaughter.

And the original post was just about bunnies being a good alternative for vegans trying to figure out how to find balance between their pets dietary needs and their own ethics!

They stepped into a post completely unrelated to the point they wanted to push - a point not counter-intuitive to their own ideology - with the express purpose of demonizing non-vegans.

They’re condescending and ignorant. They don’t care about facilitating the vegan movement, because if they did, they’d look at the inaccessibility of the lifestyle and fight for that instead of vilifying non-vegans for “paying people to kill animals.”

They believe veganism makes vegans inherently morally righteous in all their pursuits to non-vegans. That’s the only reason their mind would’ve gone to that reply upon reading my original post. And that is not how veganism should be exemplified.

Doing so frames veganism as an elitist movement that cares more about mocking non-vegans than it does about making sure it has the populous support to take on the animal cruelty in the animal food industry that it currently doesn’t have.

More vegans means more power against the people committing these crimes, but the more vegans there are, the less impact that “non-vegans pay people to kill animals for them to enjoy” kind of rhetoric actually has.

That’s a rhetoric veganfacts pushes. That’s why they jump down the throats of people discussing vegans as morally level with non-vegans. They were defending their own moral righteousness, not a movement that seeks to foster education toward better lives for the people they vilify.

Other vegans are doing that though. They educate. They facilitate and they’re tackling the issue of food availability, and they are honestly working their asses off to make a real change in the world.

And you’ll recognize those people when you start looking for the pattern. They’re the ones who acknowledge and understand why the vegan movement stalls the way it does. They’re the ones building community vegetable gardens and making sure people have food on their table before they even begin worrying about making sure that food is cruelty free.

Dental Insurance Question - The Real Scoop?

While I am employed, I work at home for a company in another state, and the dental insurance options through my company were not viable. So, of course, I relied on the internet to research my options, and I looked, specifically, for dental insurance Lo and Behold, the stuff that came up, was for Dental Discount Plans. Upon first glance, it seemed like this could actually have been a better deal then anything offered through my firm. The conversation on the websites touted these plans, often with premiums of $7 to $20 per month, to be better than conventional dental insurance in every imaginable way. No issues in applying, no maximums, no deductibles, and no waiting. So, I am sitting here, reading how in EVERY possible way this is better than insurance, and it strikes me. If something seems to good to be true, maybe it is. If these were so much better than conventional insurance, why did my firm have so much trouble finding affordable insurance; they should have simply joined one of these discount programs. Well, the site even attached me to an independent article which BASHED the conventional insurance...Then it struck me...If I was a dentist, would I be happy joining these discount plans and basically getting 50% to 75% less for my services. Yeah Yeah, I am getting my payment up front and not waiting for the insurance to pay me (again, playing the role of the dentist), but is that worth the tremendously discounted amount (does not make sense when you compare the time value of money). So, I realized that if I were a dentist, I would not want anything to do with these plans...Or would I? Does being a part of these discount programs really bring in enough clients to justify that deep a cut in the fee schedule. Then I started to think...Is it possible that there is something up with these deeply discounted fee schedules I keep seeing on these sites? Are the fees just being jacked up and then discounted back down to the point where I might as well not be a member of the Discount Program, and just a regular walk in? Can I go to a dentist and ask them for the fee schedule, and then after the fact, compare it to the discount program to see that I am really getting a discount, and it is not some number playing farce. I would want to know as a dentist whether these discount programs are worth anything. I need some kind of coverage, and for the few self insurance programs I see, the monthly premiums are incredibly high, and yes, when compared to the discount programs, it seems like NO ONE would EVER join these insurance programs since they are more limited and more expensive...Yet....They are still in the insurance business.
