Since my crap is disorganized across multiple computers, laptops, notebooks, and handwritten scraps of paper, I've been trying to organize my music compositions. Having been "composing" (let's use the word liberally) since I was four, there are hundreds of songs to document. As I've been rediscovering hidden gems and endearing crap, I've been reflecting on my... naming trends. How musical creativity does not necessitate Title Creativity. How successfully I can ward folks off before they hear a note.
Broad music title naming habits include:
1. Traditional formal classical music
• Barcarolle Sereno • Cello Suite No. 1 in G Major Movement 1. Moderato • Con Amore • Dance in Bb Minor • Ostinato Cantabile
2. Lazy-ass description of what it is
• Assignment 11 • Melody Assignment 1 • Flute Duet • Barber Mimic • Mobile Game Song
3. Brief Latin phase, please stop
• Monstrat Viam • Deo Volente • Continua Astrum
4. Functional title, sometimes basic, sometimes cool
• Portrait of a Friend • Winter Blossoms • Necrosis • Horizon • Nucleotides • Z-Score • Fox in the Henhouse • Upon a Starry Night
5. Abstract Quasi-Poetic Angst
• Reasons to Hope • Take Back What's Mine • Like Rainfall • Return to Heart • When the Skies Darken • Tribute to an Ideal • Tearful Thank You • Indefinite Forever • Defiant Hope
6. Tried too hard sounding cool and unfortunately you were ten
• Corridor to the Ethereal • In Secret to Be Told • 'Lectri’ Twelve Strin’ Guitar • Expanses of Fantasy
7. One of the lines in the song, highlighting how bad the lyrics are
• Help Me to Follow You • I Am Not Quite Sure Yet • Because My Friend's Sick • Do You Know the Way
8. That's just the name of the commission
• Mixed Emotions Movement 4. Closer and Credits • Vagina Monologues 2. One Billion Will Rise for Justice • Vampire Survival Guide • Paradox
9. Conlanger flex, no one will be able to pronounce or remember this. Ever.
• Ohd Thak-Shu • Xhavhukfi Zoqudou • Veh nah Dii’hs • Nidia Kila • Tavhlovmindada • Ehyiib
10. I had no idea for a title and typed random crap when I clicked "save"
• Sneak • Sneakify • Sneaking • Sneaky-Sneak • SoGow • Klongilonga • Quiiiiiptail • Da Da • Hihoppadada • Colon KayjayK buy2 (originally ;kjk;kjk a literal keysmash)
11. I'm not going to admit I have a song named this
• Don't Spit Your Eyes Out • Shake Your Bootchy Bottom • It Takes a Bike to Beat a Bus • Bunny Bunny Days • Please Let Me Eat the Microphone • Yo I Said It’s Space
12. Still untitled; each new recording is "comp idea," "name," "rename," "you really need to name this," "take 5," "take 5.1," "take 5.12," "redo this sucks," "I swear I play banjo," "delete later," "deleeeeeet," "out of tune," "still out of tune," "this one's good," "THIS ONE," "best," "best2," "BEST VERSION", "awwwww yeah"; and for some strange reason it's hard to refind these recordings a month later

The Economics of Taylor Swift's 'ME!' and Music Videos In the Digital Age
5/13/2019 by Steve Knopper
Sources estimate Swift's big comeback visual cost seven figures to make.
The hissing snake exploding into butterflies, the dozens of dancers in pastel-colored suits, Brendon Urie floating through the sky with an umbrella -- none of these effects in Taylor Swift's "ME!" video were cheap. Music-industry sources estimated its budget in the seven figures. figures. But thanks to the new music-video economy, Swift’s label, Republic, could make up that money over the next few months; the video has been streamed 162 million times so far on YouTube, which, according to one source, means $150,000 to $250,000 in label revenue.
"I don't think they were penny-pinching on that one," says Bob McLynn, manager of Urie's band Panic! At the Disco, adding that he has no knowledge of Swift's video costs.
Labels are shelling out as much as ever on certain videos, in part because they now generate advertising revenue on their own -- compared to MTV, which famously paid nothing. But whether the videos generate more money for artists and labels overall is a tricky calculation, since fans who view a certain video for free on YouTube may then be less likely to stream the song on a more lucrative paid service such as Spotify or Apple Music.
In the MTV era, big-budget videos were almost always worth the financial risk for major stars, since heavy rotation meant a smash hit and lucrative CD sales. Today, these kinds of videos come out 10 to 30 times per year, estimates JP Evangelista, senior vp of content, programming and marketing for Vevo. "ME!" has been streamed on Vevo more than 100 million times in its first week, generating roughly $90,000 to $150,000 in revenue for Universal-owned Republic, sources say.
YouTube pays out roughly $1.50 for every 1,000 views, according to data released by the RIAA in 2017 -- significantly less in royalties than either Apple Music or Spotify, which emphasize audio tracks, not videos. By those calculations, $190,000 would have gone to Swift for the 127 million views of "ME!" as of early May, and nearly $550,000 to Ariana Grande for her 365 million views of "thank u, next." (Lyor Cohen, YouTube’s global head of music and a former longtime label executive, estimated revenue at roughly twice that, but the revenue depends on many variables, like overseas income and whether an artist agrees to certain kinds of ads.)
For non-superstars, though, music videos are simply costly promotional tools. "The money you earn on visual content doesn't match up with the money you put into it, by and large," says John Fleckenstein, RCA Records' co-president. "There's a monetization aspect to it, but it isn't like, 'We should make five videos because we're going to make a boatload of money.'"
Music-video costs range from $2,500 (for an indie-label project) to $700,000 or more (for a pop superstar like Swift, Grande or Drake). Vince Staples' 2018 video for "FUN!" cost roughly $200,000, says his manager, Corey Smyth, although it has just 3.7 million YouTube views. "It's worth it," he says. "They're all calling cards. You don't know what's going to hit and what's going to go viral." Country stars spend $30,000 to $250,000 per video, according to Erica Rosa, royalties director for Nashville business-management firm Flood, Bumstead, McCready and McCarthy. "I saw one in the pop world that was around $850,000," she says. "I almost fell out of my chair."
Dave Meyers, who co-directed "ME!," once said his typical video budget in the late '90s, the end of the MTV era, was $1 million. (Neither he nor Swit's reps was available for comment.)
Labels generally front the money for videos, although artists are frequently charged for the expense until they make enough in royalties to recoup the costs. If artists believe in high-cost projects, they occasionally add their own funds beyond their labels' expense ceiling. "Videos are as important as they've ever been," says McLynn, who manages Sia and Fall Out Boy and has made videos from $10,000 to $200,000. "When you're rolling out a bigger artist, you want to double down -- you want to make sure you have everything you need, so you up the budget."
Music and video execs say the idea is the most important factor in determining whether to green-light a big-budget video. Beggars Group put up funding for FKA twigs' new "Cellophane," depicting the singer floating through the air with a winged dragon and has 3.3 million YouTube views. "That video has to exist in order to fully kick off the project," says Gabe Spierer, the indie label's vp of content and strategy. "It's an example that justifies big spending on a video."
"The artist's vision is usually paramount," Fleckenstein says. "Some artists have extremely specific views they want to get across that can be elaborate and difficult to produce and therefore can become expensive." Adds Lyor Cohen, a top label exec in the MTV era who is now YouTube's global head of music: "When you're void of great ideas, you try to blow up Rolls-Royces for production value. But when an artist and the label work hard to come up with a great concept and execute it, that's the real ingredient of video success."
Labels often calculate potential YouTube revenue when creating video budgets, then work backwards to figure out how much they can spend. "It does allow them to feel more comfortable commissioning higher-cost videos, knowing there'll be some return on their investment," says Vevo's Evangelista. But few videos are hits: "The cost-benefit analysis is about controlling for the likely reality that [the video] is a relative footnote -- unfortunately," Spierer says.
In the old days of MTV and CDs, just about every major artist had to make an expensive video to launch a new single. After Napster and file-sharing forced labels to slash their promotional budgets, according to Smyth, spending dropped to $15,000-20,000 per video; now that streaming has returned growth to the business, he says, "We're in a middle ground."
While MTV-era directors such as Hype Williams and Spike Jonze could focus exclusively on music videos, at least until they broke into feature films, today's directors have to supplement their income with non-music projects. New York duo BRTHR has directed videos for Travis Scott, the Weeknd, Charli XCX and Lil Pump, but, says the team's Kyle Wightman, "To even survive, we have to be doing commercials." Adds Alex Lee, his partner: "The money we make from music videos is honestly nothing. It's about 15 percent of what we make [from commercials]."
Although Specter Berlin recently directed Rammstein's over-the-top "Deutschland" video, which is packed with lasers, period costumes and elaborate, controversial scenes depicting the holocaust, he's frustrated labels won't spend more money in a time of big-budget Netflix and HBO projects. "It's a great time for music videos and there's no reason why the budgets are not going up," he says. "It's convenient for the music industry to say, 'Hey, this is a young artist shooting a music video and we only have $20,000.' If everybody does proper work, nobody's going to make anything." Adds Tony Yacenda, who directs videos for comedian-rapper Lil Dicky, including recent charity single "Earth" and 2017's "Pillow Talking," which reportedly cost $700,000: "Nobody views it as the endgame. [Videos] allow you to create something fun to watch that shows you have style and a voice -- but it's not going to be your payday."
Swift's "ME!" is one of the big-budget exceptions. "I don't think you should spend $500 grand on something you think is going to come and go -- that's for a certain type of artist," says Smyth, Staples' manager. "Taylor Swift was almost in Tron. Her glam is probably my budget."

Get Started With Pinterest Video Ads: Here’s How
If you’re anything like me, you’ve been revisiting Pinterest a lot more recently for quarantine cooking recipes, home DIY projects, decorating updates, arts and crafts—the list goes on and on. In the midst of my recipe dive, I saw tons of Pinterest video ads, and I realized how effective this format is for the platform.
Personally, if I were running social advertising for a B2C business right now, I would absolutely invest in video ads on Pinterest. That’s why today, I’m going to walk you through everything you need to know about Pinterest video ads, including:
Why you should use Pinterest video ads.
How to set up video ads on Pinterest.
How to format your Pinterest video ads for the best results.
What content works best in Pinterest video ads.
Why should you use Pinterest video ads?
In short? Because they’re effective. Pinterest video ads are integrated in the feed to appear alongside organic pins. The ads come in standard or max width sizes, which are the same height as a typical pin but can be as wide as a double column on mobile. The ads begin playing automatically when they come into a user’s home feed, and they can be viewed in a larger view, replayed, or played with audio.
Here are a few more reasons why you should use Pinterest video ads:
The reach: 367 million people use Pinterest every month.
The high-intent audience ready to purchase: 98% of Pinners report trying new things they found on the platform, and 85% use Pinterest as a resource when they’re starting a new project.
The opportunity: Earned media is a huge player for Pinterest, particularly for well-designed pins and content. That means *free* branding, traffic, and conversions because Pinterest users are high-intent.
Now that we’re clear on why, let’s talk about how.
How to set up Pinterest video ads
If you’re already running ad campaigns on Pinterest, the set up for video ads is not that different. But if you’re brand new to the platform, you’ll need to set up a business account to access the ad manager and analytics. You can set it up from scratch or convert an existing personal account.
Once you have your account all set up, select “Create Ad” to get started. If you already have existing pins for your business that just so happen to be videos, you’re in luck! You can simply select those, add them to a campaign, and hit go.
If you’re starting your account from scratch, you’ll have to add your own content to get things moving. Like any other promoted pin, you can upload content one at a time or all at once by using the bulk editor. You will need to add billing information before any of your ads can be set live.
Step #1: Set your campaign goal
To get started, you need to set a goal for your campaign. These ads can be used for brand awareness, video views, conversions, and traffic campaign objectives.
Step #2: Target your audience
Like other popular social advertising platforms (yes, I’m talking about Facebook), there are plenty of options for targeting the audience you want. Because this is Pinterest, the most important section will be the “Interests.” Remember back in the day, when you had to be invited to Pinterest and when you set it up, you had to select what you were looking for on the platform? Those overarching interests continue to keep users addicted to the platform, which is how you can reach the perfect audience.
You can also target by keyword, demographic, location, language, and device.
Step #3: Budgets, bids, and delivery
This is a short step, and then you’re almost done. Input your budget for this campaign (daily or total), followed by your CPV (cost per view) bid, and pacing.
Step #4: Select your pins
Finally, you’ll need to select the pins and videos you want to promote through this campaign. This is the meat-and-potatoes, if you will.
Or, if you have the file saved on your computer, just drag-and-drop, add a link, and publish away.
Pinterest video ad specs
Like any social media advertising platform, Pinterest works hard to make their ad formats appear as native to the platform as possible. Below are the specs to make your shiny new video ads:
File Type: .mov, .mp4, .m4v
Size: max 2GB
Length: 4 seconds to 15 minutes
Title: 100 characters max
Description: 500 characters max
Recommended standard aspect ratio: square, 2:3, 4:5, or 9:16
Required max width aspect ratio: square, or 16:9
A few notes: Only about 50 to 60 characters of your title and description text will appear in the feed; it will all be displayed if a user selects the video.
And if you’re overwhelmed by the prospect of creating a 12-minute Pinterest video ad, you should be! Pinterest (and every Pinterest user) recommends keeping your videos between six and 15 seconds long.
As always, each video pin will need a destination link and cover image, which can be selected from the video itself.
Pinterest video ad best practices
While anyone can set up a nice-looking pin for advertising using Canva or existing brand images, creating a video ad can seem a bit more intimidating. For everyone. In fact, I managed social advertising for more than two years before even attempting video ads, and that was when I had access to a creative team! Don’t be scared like me—it’s not bad at all!
Keep in mind that Pinterest video ads autoplay when they are 50% in view on a user’s feed, and they will be muted until someone clicks on them. Additionally, Pinterest reports that branded advertising (not just video ads) do perform well for their audience, so throw in your logo and branded colors!
Here are some easy ways to set up video ads yourself and best practices to keep top-of-mind when you do.
Add to your toolbelt
If you’re not well-versed in editing video (as many marketers aren’t—don’t feel bad), there are tools to help. I highly recommend using a video creator. A lot of tools are subscription-based, which means you can sign up, create a video, run the ad, and cancel your trial if it doesn’t pan out for you! Some of my go-tos include Promo, Animoto, wave.video, and Biteable.
Focus on the message
It can be easy to get caught up in your offering or product and forget about how you want to attract prospects. Instead of prominently featuring the UX of your shiny new app or product, focus on how it can solve problems for your customers. Imagine a relatable scenario in which they’d really need your app/product/offering and make a video ad out of that.
Tumblr media
I’d be remiss if I forgot to tell you: When you’re making a video ad, don’t forget about words. People will watch this ad on mute first, as it comes into their feed, but the ad space itself will be pretty small, so don’t make the whole tile full of Powerpoint-popping words. Select the most important, emphasize them in the design, and tailor your title and description to those as well.
KISS!
Keep it short and simple. Remember, Pinterest recommends a video ad stay between six and 15 seconds—if you’re used to creating pre-roll ads, you’re in luck. Consider making the video a looping gif for the shorter, six-second side or three to five animated slides for the longer side.
For example, this ad below was served when I searched for “Bohemian Bedroom ideas” and it’s just ... a tour of a bohemian bedroom.
Tumblr media
Exactly what I was looking for.
Get pinning
Now, we’ve gone over why you should get started with Pinterest video ads, how to set up your campaign, and how to make sure your ads are effective—it’s time for you to go and get pinning!

MLFluff Day 1 - Blush
A/N: 2k isn’t long by any sense but when you meant to do 500 words, it’s mind boggling. Still working on my process because I would like to crank out pieces instead of being 3 days behind, haha. Critics and comments are welcome and encouraged! ENJOY~~
@miraculousfluffmonth
Over the fierce hangover, Adrien discerns whispers and giggles but this is not abnormal when he enters the building.
Last night, the Gabriel brand had an end-of-project party to celebrate their new Miraculous fashion line. A new team of designers and marketers joined the company for the project and their work was phenomenal. They committed hours of labor that was well deserved for a celebratory break. Adrien remembers next to nothing of the affair. Which he assumes should be a bad sign, but his heart was so devastated that he refused to consider the events.
Nino Lahiffe, his best friend and stage manager for the runway, is leaning against the door frame of his office. His face looks anxious. Adrien is use to the pressure of working in the entertainment industry so a few anxious faces in the morning is nothing to sneeze over.
"Hey, Nino." Adrien greets. He walks through the door and slumps into his chair.
"Hey! Wasn’t sure I'd see you, buddy. You didn’t answer my texts. You doing alright?"
Adrien sighs. "Nothing traumatizing. I managed to wake up only 3 hours late. I must of drank the whole bar.” He runs his hands through his hair.
"Man, I knew you were bold but, hell, I would be holed up in the Alps for a week after that show."
"Show?" Adrien can't recall much of the party after sitting at the bar, waiting for Marinette to arrive. “Did we have an impromptu runway walk?"
Nino laughs. “If that is new runway choreography, people will storm the doors like another French Revolution. I didn't know you had such great moves. For a minute, I thought I turned to the other team.”
"I--What? I'm not following."
"Dude...please tell me you remember something about last night.”
"I remember entering the party, waiting for Marinette, seeing her walk in with...well, and then deciding to improve my knowledge of our available alcohol stores. Not much after that." Adrien admitted. Nino stares in his eyes with an impression of viewing the beginning of the end of a friend's life. Adrien's instincts are alert in that moment. “If you had to rate it from ‘Luke kisses his sister’ to ‘Red Wedding’..?”
"Let's say you have inspired material for many future rom-coms. Raunchy rom-coms." Nino emphasizes.
Adrien sighs in frustration. "Show me."
"I think it's funny that you would assume I documented it." Adrien stares blandly in return. "Otherwise you would be wrong for the first time in your life."
Nino takes no time to pull out his mobile and swipes into his media. He walks around the desk and places the phone in front of Adrien--the screen shows a video file waiting to be played.
“It’s so bad that you knew to take a video. Not a brief moment of ridicule, but a definitive flick of humiliation.” Adrien considers the screen a moment. "I'm scared to press it."
Nino looks sympathetic and presses the button. The screen shows the runway stage, a long strip of white that ends in a rectangular arch. Adrien can see himself with a vaguely familiar male, standing on the stage edge and gesturing at the crowd. The audio is jumbled by the voices surrounding the camera during the video but someone is walking towards the stage.
Marinette Dupain-Cheng walks to the edge with a bemused smile and a pink face. Adrien and the male on stage reach out simultaneously to pull her up. Adrien's face glowers at the other man's gesture but then looks at Marinette with the most besotted and forlorn face, as if he never gazed upon a female face in his life. He lifts her hand to kiss it when she is standing on stage.
The video is not past fifteen seconds and Adrien is mortified. Marinette joined the Miraculous line three months ago as the head designer and Adrien could not have fallen harder for a woman. Not only is she gorgeous, but she is talented, dependable, a quick thinker, and has the most attractive stubborn personality he has ever faced. Though they interact during fittings and photo shoots, Adrien never found the time to approach her beyond professionalism between all their work. This party was his opportunity to do something, to make an impression on her.
Two chairs pass amongst the crowd on the camera and placed on stage for Marinette to sit. The men make another gesture to the crowd and another female walks up to the stage. Adrien recognizes her as Chloe Bourgeois, part of the marketing team that always finds an excuse to be part of on-site projects. The other man pulls her up stage, stares at her like he caught the biggest fish of the day, and Chloe sits in the other chair.
The camera moves closer and the crowd falls to a hush as Adrien begins to speak, "This is not just a dance between mere men!" His voice carries through the room and his words barely slurr. “This is a battle of love. And I have a lot of love to give."
Adrien realizes if he were not winking at Marinette, this sounds like a gay outing. The Adrien on stage points his finger to the right and a blare of music begins.
Adrien recognizes the song immediately and his Ipod must be hooked up to the sound system. It's "Hot Stuff" by Donna Summers, and Adrien could not be more horrified. His face flashes hot.
The next four minutes are the longest of his life. The first seconds consist of innocent dancing, he is proud of his hip-hop style of improv choreography, but it is fast apparent that he is not dancing to win but to impress. He is running his hands down his white dress shirt, he is caressing Marinette’s shoulders whenever he passes, and—most importantly— pumping out his hips every time "Hot Stuff" is played on the track. The other man is giving as much as Adrien, his moves are pretty good, but it is hard not to pause and notice the flamboyant fervor being thrown by Adrien.
When the guitar solo hits, Adrien straddles over Marinette's chair and leans over with his face next to hers. The camera catches a clear view of Adrien's hips rolling to the beat suggestively. Marinette's face is flushed red and she waves to the crowd, laughing at his antics. She turns her head, like she is listening to him speak, and raises her hand to her mouth and her eyes are shining.
Adrien is backing away from the chair, bouncing on his heels to the beat, and reaches to the buttons of his shirt. Of course, the shirt is removed and lassoed until it is thrown into the crowd, where people are cheering on his antics. There are sounds of women tittering and running in the direction of the shirt.
The song ends with Adrien twirling on his knees and crouched before Marinette. The other man is in a similar position before Chloe. Adrien’s lips are moving but the video does not catch it as there is insistent whispering behind the camera and Nino’s voice says, “Alright, shows over buddy!” and the video stops.
Adrien sits with his elbows on the desk and his head leaning into his hands, trying to hide his mortification. He threw himself at her. He didn’t walk up to her with respect and grace like he planned, he announced it to the world like some impulsive tomcat. What could she think of him?
“Where was my father in all of this?” Adrien says glumly.
“Well, and don’t get too impressed, I had a feeling what was about to go down and left someone outside to wait for him to arrive. I pulled you out of that joint as soon as I got word. I’m assuming no one mentioned it to him.”
Adrien grumbles incoherently, considering that the only good news next to ruining all his chances with Marinette and losing some of the respect of his coworkers.
“Anything else I’ve forgotten?” Adrien braces himself.
“Well,” Nino leans forward and swipes his phone, “I have some of the before-the-incident pictures. Here is you getting drunk. Here is you being passive-aggressive with— and I’m quoting you— ‘the man who stole your love’. Here is you challenging him to a dance-off. Then here is you crying in the cab, telling me how you’ll never feel anything ever again.”
Adrien groans and begins to stand. “This is horrible. Yes, I should have gone to the Alps. I shouldn’t be here. I should leave right now.”
“Aw, man, come on—”
There is a body at the doorway and Adrien jerks his head up before he can collide with them. Marinette stares at Adrien with a shy smile and a hand ruffling the back of her hair.
“Hi, Adrien” She starts.
“Um, hello.” Adrien stumbles. His face is still hot, his memories too fresh of the incident. Marinette is looking at him intently and suddenly covers her mouth and smiles at a corner of the room. Marinette can’t stand to look at him.
“Do you have a moment?” She turns back to him.
Adrien looks back but Nino is already running out the door, giving a good luck signal. Adrien gestures Marinette to enter his office and closes the door. They stand in silence and Adrien’s complexion tempers down as he prepares for a telling off.
“Look, um, I’m not sure if you’re interested, or maybe it was some inside model joke or maybe Alya put you up to it and she already talked to you, but—” Marinette is stumbling over her words struggling to keep direct eye contact with Adrien. “I have the results for last night.”
“The…results?”
“Yes. It was unanimous and I’m here to return a message.”
“Yes, of course? What message would that be?”
Marinette blushes and ducks her head. The pink hue on her cheeks always entices Adrien to kiss her senseless.
“You asked that if you win the dance competition, that I repeat something to you today. Not that you needed to win to ask.” Adrien almost doesn’t catch the last sentence and his stomach flutters, waiting. “‘Will you go on a date with me?’”
“You want to go on a date. With me?” Adrien asks astonished. Marinette laughs.
“Yeah. Yes, I do.” Marinette declares, smiling at him with confidence. Adrien is unable to resist and smiles back. “To be clear, I am also repeating the message of you indirectly asking me first.”
“But yesterday, I thought…you walked in with a guy.”
“Yes? I brought my friend Kim, who was hired last minute for the upcoming show and brought him to introduce to the gang.” She leans in to whisper, “He’s in love with Chloe, if you couldn’t tell.”
Adrien remembers why the man in the video looked familiar and why he glowered at him for half the video. He walked in with Marinette, acting familiar, and Adrien made fast assumptions and pouted at the bar for the rest of the night. Well, most of the night.
“Wow. I’m the biggest idiot.”
“They say there is a first for everything, when you’re in love. ” Marinette teases and pokes at his chest. Adrien flushes once again.
“Wha-what—“
“I’m not sure if you remember, but you whispered a lot of things to me last night. How I’m gorgeous, you think my laugh is lyrical, and then there was the ‘I think I’m in love with you’ a few dozen times. Also a lot of bad pick-up lines. ”
“Please Mari—“ Marinette presses a finger to his mouth to silence him.
“Trust me, Agreste, every word you said to me could have come out of my mouth and been just as true.”
Adrien is breathless and cannot bottle his wide grin in response. He stares at her in wonder and grabs her hand to entwine their fingers. Their foreheads lean forward and touch; they begin to chuckle at the inane moment.
Adrien looks down at Marinette’s mouth and glances at her expression before being encouraged to lean forward.
“That includes the words you said to me that are not to be repeated outside a bedroom.” Marinette whispers in a laugh before they are kissing and Adrien knows she is worth more than a million embarrassing moment.

An Anthology Of Past Misfortunes Boxed Set by Vision Éternel
An Anthology Of Past Misfortunes Boxed Set by Vision Éternel
The idea of the boxed set originated in early 2010, following Abridged Pause Recordings’ release of Vision Éternel’s third extended play “Abondance De Périls“. The year prior, Japanese record label Frozen Veins Records released a compilation of Vision Éternel’s first two extended plays; 2007’s “Seul Dans L’obsession” and 2008’s “Un Automne En Solitude“, both originally released through Mortification Records. The Japan-exclusive compact disc, titled “An Anthology Of Past Misfortunes“, included three unreleased b-sides and was bundled with a poster. When that compilation was released, on February 14th of 2009, the future of Vision Éternel was uncertain and it was promoted as a sort of discography of the band.
Once more material was released in 2010, Vision Éternel founder Alexandre Julien started planning a follow-up compilation compact disc for Frozen Veins Records, which would have combined “Abondance De Périls” and its eventual sequel, 2012’s “The Last Great Torch Song“. Unfortunately, Frozen Veins Records folded in the early months of 2010 and the release was briefly put on hold. Within a month, the compilation was re-conceptualized into a boxed set. This boxed set was to re-use the title “An Anthology Of Past Misfortunes” because Alexandre Julien found that it perfectly represented the mood and theme of the band. The collection was upgraded to include every Vision Éternel song ever released. During the four years that followed, a long list of record labels offered to release the boxed set, including Winterreich Productions, Valse Sinistre Productions, Dedicated Records, Dunkelheit Produktionen and Broken Limbs Recordings, which resulted in drastic changes in the formats and contents of the collection. Ultimately, Abridged Pause Recordings took the reins, following the record label’s release of Soufferance’s boxed set “Travels” in August of 2013. Thus ensued the long and emotional task of putting the boxed set together.
Between March of 2014 and March of 2018, many different parts of the boxed set were designed, crafted, purchased, manufactured and printed (and a great many parts had to be re-designed, re-manufactured and re-printed due to ongoing problems). Alexandre Julien envisioned the “An Anthology Of Past Misfortunes” boxed set as the definitive Vision Éternel collection, not limited to every Vision Éternel song released, but rather to every Vision Éternel song recorded. This would normally only be attainable if the boxed set was completed and released after the band calls it quits. But Alexandre Julien found another way; release the boxed set in an impressive package in the spring of 2018, but leave room in the box for yearly “add-on packages”. With that in mind, the keepsake box used for the collection was intentionally crafted bigger than it needed to be, so that as future albums are released, a limited edition pressing will be manufactured to retroactively fit in the boxed set. The yearly add-on packages will also include bonus material such as stickers, flyers, postcards and other memorabilia made to subsequently fit in the boxed set.
The boxed set can be purchased directly through Vision Éternel’s webstore as of April 14th 2018.

Money Really Counts
Street Money On Deck
The best rap song of all time would have to be in the late 2Pac in his song "Changes". Sure there is explicit language in it, but it's definitely what fashionable and rap is all about. Throughout the deep lyrics into the iconic beat, this song goes beyond anything in the rap game today.
Nowadays people are use to hearing overly explicit songs, but nothing can top 2Pac and his songs. 2Pac's music could be discovered from many years to come. "California Love", "Dear Mama", and "Hail Mary" are accurate examples of great hip, but his song "Changes" actually sums up everything a real hip-hop fanatic would like to hear. 2Pac might have left early, but he will never fully leave anybody's heart.
This song is a hit in the moment I learned it and I know the wave would only catch on and folks will also realize that 2Pac wasn't just a fantastic rapper, but also one of the best lyricists ever in any genre. Rap must be the deepest of genres since the rappers have gone through pain and suffering and they voice out their views and they showcase all their abilities in their music.
The best rap song ever would need to be from the late 2Pac in his own song "Changes". Sure there's explicit language in it, but it is definitely what hip-hop and rap is all about. Through the deep lyrics into the iconic beat, this song goes beyond anything in the rap game now.
Nowadays people are use to hearing overly explicit songs, but nothing could top 2Pac and his music. 2Pac's music can be heard from years to come. "California Love", "Dear Mama", and "Hail Mary" are all accurate examples of great hip-hop, but his song "Changes" actually sums up everything a true fashionable enthusiast would like to hear. 2Pac may have left early, but he will never fully leave anybody's heart.
This song is a hit in the moment I discovered it and I understand the wave would just catch on and people will also find that 2Pac wasn't only a great rapper, but also one of the greatest lyricists of all time in any genre. Rap has to be the deepest of genres ever since the rappers have gone through suffering and pain and they voice out their views and they showcase all their skills in their songs.
I have found out that there is a means to explore your wishes to be a rapper. With a ghost writer to pen a hit song is a sure fire way to guarantee that you will be respected as an artist. A lot of rap musician use ghost writers to write the songs they put out and it's normal in the music industry. If you're looking for someone to help you in the making of your rap song then look into ghost authors. A lot of artist possess the ability of performing, but aren't that great at the art of writing lyrics.
Normally a writer will market the lyrics to get a set price as a work for hire or will be willing to accept just the publishing rights by keeping up the copyrights of the tune. There's also the opportunity to split the publishing together with the ghost writer. I can tell you that by using a ghost writer your chances of getting your song released and heard from music industry executives will increase. You can also collaborate with writers to insure that Your ideas are implemented in the song.
If you are a good writer yourself, but you are not that great at writing hooks or a chorus then it's possible to hire a writer to pen you a fantastic hook to your song. The cost of using writers to compose your song will vary, but most of the time you'll be able to work out a deal with the writer and therefore don't let the price discourage you.
The best freestyle MC in the world will never beat a good songwriter.
After all, even if you should name your 10 best emcees, I am certain all of these would have many songs you know and love. There is a timeless factor to songwriting; everything you've ever written and recorded is truly a shot at immortality. You may know that Supernatural is the ideal freestyle MC from the world, but can you name a single song that he's ever composed? One of the greatest freestyle emcees of all time, Juice, went so far as to say that recording is your only real shot at becoming a legend.
Increase your songwriting ability Using the following three Measures:
1. Focus on successful brainstorming. The rhyming dictionary and thesaurus would be your own friend. Select a subject, then use a thesaurus to create similar words to use on your own songs. When you generated those words, look them up in a rhyming dictionary to find different words that rhyme with them. Very quickly you'll be able to develop an entire page filled with songwriting material.
2. Change your rhyming patterns often. Rakim is probably the best example of this; when your flow pattern shifts, it forces the listener to pay additional attention to what you're saying. The more attention they are paying you, the more inclined they are to hear a few of your best lines; and that is what it is all about, right?
3. Utilize as many different tune formats as you can. No matter how dope you may be in one particular style, you have to keep the listeners attention by composing different styles of songs. Attempt to balance your battle tracks with more socially aware jams. Mix dance songs with storytelling. If all your songs follow a simple 16 bar3 verse distance format, then you are going to drop the crowd.
There's never been a better time to be a independent rapper or singer. No more do you have to spend hundreds of dollars on expensive studio time to record quality sounds. You would be surprised just how many of your favorite songs were likely recorded in the artists cellar, then taken into a Money Really Counts specialist studio to be mixed and mastered. Because the processing power of the computer has grown so drastically, it's currently possible to possess the power of a fully functional studio in your house. If you purchase the right equipment, it's likely to record your own songs in your home.
The first thing you need is a computer with a high quantity of RAM and a hard disk (external or internal) with a lot of memory. Having a Mac would be perfect, but a nicely developed PC will suffice if you lack the funds. In addition, I suggest getting a TB (terabyte) hard disk, because they're relatively cheap and will most likely give you your whole music career. I have a terabyte hard drive that is not even at 60 percent yet and I've had it for 2 years. Having a good deal of memory is important because documenting Wav and AIFF files require require loads of memory. Your system will crash should youn't have sufficient available resources. The good news About this is that memory is quite inexpensive these days. Expect to spend about $80 to $160 to get a good hard disk. You can spend anywhere from $1,000-$5,000 for your entire computer system.
The next thing that's necessary is a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) like Pro Tools, or Logic. Pro Tools remains the leading competitor when it comes to DAW's because your session are compatible in any significant recording studio on the planet. While Logic is a fantastic program, you might encounter issues when traveling from studio to studio with your songs. If you do not plan on transferring your songs everywhere, Logic Pro may be an ideal choice for you.
Together with the DAW, you will need to purchase a good excellent condenser mic. Should you spend anywhere from $100-$500, you should be in great shape. But if your budget could spare, then spend $1,000+. This alone will set you above the majority of rappers that record their vocals in your home. You get what you pay for, and you will definitely see a difference from the crispness of your own voice.
Once you've your recording setup correctly, you are likely to have to get some instrumentals to rap to. A great producer isn't hard to obtain these days, it seems like everybody makes beats now. You can search the web with terms such as "purchase beats online" or "beats for sale" and you'll find some very good online producers. Possessing high quality beats another major aspect of recording at home, if not the most essential. A great instrumental may mask a less than perfect recording environment and give you an expensive sound.
Recording at home seems to be the ideal for up and coming rap musicians. The prices are lower as well as it expands productivity provided that it's possible to record in anytime at no price. It is not necessary to over spend in regards to studio gear, but it is also important never to be cheap. You'll be safe spending approximately $2,500 to your whole setup, and it will last you a long period of time without having to update anything.
The Hip Hop music universe is changing especially the brand new rap songs generation is determined and having a different flair of getting mature genre. Interestingly, the changes and distinctions which are being seen today aren't an overnight change; a few of rappers have actually hit the market after quite a battle. The most interesting factor here is that now the case of artist, the performance is as critical to the total package, since there are hundreds and hundreds of wannabes but only few celebrities. Here are some intriguing new trends on Rap Music Scene.
Flo Rida feat David Gutta is the rap one that has become the voice of new era. The sole is "Club Can't Manage Me". The existence of pride, even larger than life expectancy can readily be found to be different mark of this collaboration.
Love isn't always been the main theme of Rap songs however Eminem made it a very powerful statement "Love The Way You Lie". While you can not think it to be any ground breaking single in almost any respect, the sheer star power of Eminem and Rihanna has made us think about them being the rap icons this season.
While the factor of attractiveness of this actor might not be directly connected to the sales of the singles, there are a number of artists that have been there for their personality and charm. Kanye West has the Different voice but more importantly The picture that has given boost to the entire industry of guy of certain age in Rap. His singles are creating weaves including the previous one "Runway [Explicit]" for genuine reasons of being the right mix.
The Nicky Minaj is yet another powerful rap star who has made his place in the rap scene. His Rap is much more traditional and has the despair and touch of bitterness about it. Even though the majority of the critics say this is softer side of his work. Right Thru Me [Explicit] remains the most creative voice from the rap arena.
Rap and hip possess a rich history in American civilization. Rap music started setting it's roots into society in the late 70's and early 80's. If you look carefully at the history of rap music, you'll observe that it began it's origins and became wildly popular in well known Latino and African American street artifacts in and around the nyc area.
Rap started when New York City DJ's started using rhythmic drum beats and percussion riffs to stir up and mix in to popular disco and funk songs that were mainly played in nightclub settings. During this time, people realized the power these DJ's had in attracting large crowds to their own unique and wonderfully immersive songs. The rise of the disc jockey closely Eleven rap since rap, at the time, was created via the use of DJ equipment. New rap music can incorporate many other kinds of instrumental songs and is now primarily focused on quick paced vocals.
From the 90's, a sub genre of rap music took America by storm and was recognized as gangsta rap. This type of music was focused on controversial lyrics and explicit content. This songs also gave way to this fast paced and rhythmic vocals that brand new rap songs is so well-known for. Break dancing is also a popular sub culture that's conjoined with rap. Many split dancers perform their stunts into the hypnotic beats of rap. Rap has been compared to the early music of Africa with it's drum beats and wild chants. Although this might be so, rap has developed greatly since that era.
New rap music includes all the old traditional qualities with contemporary ones. Some might say that the creator of a specific rap song's beat is the true hero to particular rap songs which make it large. However, others might say that the glory ought to be given to the actual singer of the rap tune. Many guys in addition to women have devoted their lives to contributing to the rap genre of music.
Rap can be found nearly anywhere, whether you are looking on store shelves or browsing via the multitudes of sites which are devoted to rap. Music downloads for popular and age-old rap songs are as rampant today as they have been. Downloading songs is a good way to follow your favorite rap on your own personal computer, in your portable mp3 apparatus, or as a CD in your car. Listening to your favourite rap songs can be a fantastic way to feel closer to the creation of African American music innovators.
The popularity of rap has grown considerably since it was first introduced into our amazingly energetic society and will continue to grow over time. Rap may be an ideal addition to any nightclub or party setting as well as being ideal as the ideal songs for a relaxing night. And with the possibilities of the world wide web, listening to your favorite rap is just a click away.

Stepping On Your Listeners Toes
Because of My Podcast: Lee Silverstein
Lee Silverstein is the man behind the Colon Cancer Podcast and the Color Cancer Network was able to get press passes to a very cool event in his area.
Cool Image Tools For Your Podcast
I've been working on rebuilding PodcastingResources.com and in the process finding that some resources are gone, and other have been updated. Also in the process of moving items, I've had podcaster inform me of new sources. Today I want to talk about some resources you might know and a few might not when it comes to creating graphics and images.
Canva.com
Canva.com was my favorite tool for a simple but powerful tool. It included photographs you could include for free, or in some cases $1. It has a set of tutorials to get you up to speed and you can create some great looking images for free (or next to fo free)
Pixlr.com
Pixlr.com is another graphic program in the cloud. It doesn't have access to photos and such, but it can edit the photos you have, and it's a great tool if you need to resize an image, especially if your artwork for Apple Podcasts is the right dimensions, but the file size is too big as you can have pixlr.com compress it.
Vectr.com
Vectr.com is a new program to me, and from I've seen is the most powerful graphics program that is 100% free. It works on any platform, and it also has a cloud version. As it is super powerful there is a bit of a learning curve, but if you took the time to go through the tutorials (and they have quite a few) you could make some great looking graphics.
Adobe Spark
Adobe Spark is my new favorite tool. It has one drawback that I will hit on in a minute. You simply click on what you are trying to make (twitter, facebook, Instagram, etc) and pick a design, choose some colors, spin a wheel to scroll through some fonts, and share your image. So what is the one drawback? Most of these other tools allow you specify custom sizes, but from what I've seen there is no way to specify a file size. So what I do is if I need a square image, I go into adobe spark, create an Instagram image, and then resize it using Pixlr.com
  New Twists on Old Tools
Ecamm Call Recorder is a great tool for Recording Skype, they recently launched Ecamm Live which is meant to record Facebook Live broadcasts that costs $29.95 and has some of the same features as wirecast (but that costs $500). This cost $29.95. Here is a tutorial.
A New Podcasting Microphone For Half the Price
I've been a huge fan of the Audio Technica ATR2100 microphone. It sounds great. It has both USB and XLR inputs (so it can plug directly into the computer or into a mixer) and it has a lifetime warranty. As I write this, that microphone is $67 the ATR2005 is a slightly more stylish version for $79
Well SP on the Better Podcasting Show found the Knox Cardoid USB Microphone for $40. This microphone looks and sounds very much like the 2100/2005 (it looks like a 2005 with the 2100 switch). There is even a bundle where you get the microphone and a boom arm for $69.
When You Step on A Listener's Toes
In my twelve years of podcasting, I may have had someone send a nastygram once or twice. This is why I was so surprised to get a nasty email calling me a piece of garbage, and another podcaster resorting to name calling and saying how I had no listeners and other false statements.
So what do you do?
Well, you could load up your anger and hurt and go out attitude a blazin'. From my experience, this typically does not end well.  or
Reach out to them and attempt to get an understanding of how your words offended them.
Realize this is NOT saying they were wrong for feeling hurt or offended. Everyone is allowed to feel what they feel. Many times when two people are involved in a conversation and someone gets offended chances are the person who did the offended didn't know what they said was so lethal.
My Offensive Words
On my Logical Weight Loss podcast, I was reading a story about how Americans are giving up on trying to lose weight and accepting being fat. In the article, it mentioned how American Doctors feel they can tell their patients about the dangers of being overweight as they might be accused of "Fat Shaming." This to me makes no sense and stated that if your doctor can't talk about your weight than who can say anything negative. I asked, "What is there no Slut Shaming, no Thief Shaming? What if you have relations with a goat? Is that OK?  To this, I got an email. The subject of the email was F*CK YOU. Here was the message:
In your latest podcast, your comment about "slut shaming" and comparing it to "thief shaming" was absolutely disgusting. FUCK YOU, go to hell you piece of garbage. To this I replied:
Thank you so much for your feedback. My point was if we don't allow anyone to say a negative thing about anything, isn't that the doorway to anarchy? I would love to have a dialogue about this with you. Can we get on skype? The response I received was simply:
GO TO HELL
To that, I replied, "Too bad. As a former teacher, I always feel there is room for improvement, and obviously, there is room for me to improve. Good luck with your weight loss journey."
If You Stay Open - You Leave the Door Open to Knowledge
I appeared on the Podcast Survival Guide podcast with Josh Liston (who is from Austalia) and he explained that while "Slut" is not a great word in America, it is a really, really bad word in Australia ( on the same level as C*NT in the US).
In both cases, my remarks on the Logical Weight Loss podcast were somewhat based on my frustration with political correctness (fat people are now horizontally challenged) and what I said was off the cuff, in a slightly over the top manner to make a point. One might guess that Alex's comments were in the same manner.
Conclusion
In the end with different countries, cultures, languages, etc we are going to inadvertently step on each other's toes. All you can do is apologize that someone feels a certain way, and pursue a dialogue to learn from the experience.

Nowadays people are use to hearing too explicit songs, but nothing could top 2Pac along with his songs. 2Pac's music can be heard from many years to come. "California Love", "Dear Mama", and "Hail Mary" are true examples of good hip-hop, but his song "Changes" truly sums up everything a real hip-hop fanatic want to hear. 2Pac might have left early, but he will never completely leave anyone's heart.
This song is a hit in the minute I discovered it and I understand the wave would only grab and folks will also realize that 2Pac wasn't just a fantastic rapper, but also among the greatest lyricists of all time in any genre. Rap has to be the deepest of genres ever since the rappers have gone through suffering and pain and they voice out their opinions and they reveal all of their abilities in their music.

If you are interested in finding somebody to help you in the making of the rap song then start looking into ghost authors. Plenty of artist possess the talent of doing, but aren't that great at the art of composing lyrics.
Usually a writer will sell the lyrics to get a set price as a work for hire or will be eager to accept just the publishing rights by keeping up the copyrights of the song. There is also the chance to split the publishing with the ghost author. I can inform you that by using a ghost writer your chances of getting your song released and heard from music industry executives will raise. You May Also collaborate with writers to Cover that Your ideas are implemented from the tune.
If you're a good writer yourself, but you're not that good at writing hooks or a chorus then you can hire a writer to pen you a great hook for your tune. The cost of using writers to write your song will fluctuate, but most of the time you'll have the ability to work out a deal with the writer so don't allow the price discourage you.
The ideal freestyle MC on earth won't ever beat a good songwriter.

There's never been a better time to become an independent rapper or singer. No longer do you need to spend countless dollars on expensive studio time to record quality sounds. You'd be surprised just how many of your favourite songs were probably recorded from the designers basement, then taken to a professional studio to be mixed and mastered. Since the processing power of this computer has increased so drastically, it is currently feasible to possess the power of a fully functional studio in your house. If you buy the correct equipment, it is possible to record your own music in your home.
The first thing you will need is a computer with a high quantity of RAM and a difficult drive (internal or external) with a great deal of memory.
