Well I already have a few detailed posts about it but needless to say Will is girl coded both personality and narrative wise. He is girly when compared to the 1980s definition of manly (and this is stated in the show) and he has a narrative role that is typically held by women. He is the damsel in distress, the tragic victim, etc.

He isn’t buff, he isn’t manly, he isn’t a gunslinger, he’s a girly gay boy and this is important to his characterization and arc.

1) What gifset are you most proud of, or the one you feel is the most impressive?

I've already said the set I'm proudest of is this + its expansion, but...I feel like my "most impressive" gifs can call be found in my #design forward tag—all of them are ones I feel showcase actual creative ability in photoshop, which (as you can see as the tag develops) has gotten stronger as I've continued making gifs.

4) What gifset do you think shows off your best coloring?

...honestly? most of them are pretty solid examples of color correction, if I do say so myself 😂 that said—in terms of color matching/recoloring to suit a theme, I'm going to have to go with this this Steve Harrington "King of Scoops" Gifset I made for Aimz 30th birthday challenge. I still think it's one of my prettiest gifsets I've done, and definitely the prettiest of the major-edit ST ones.

10) Tease a gifset you're currently making/planning, or have an idea for.

I haven't started any new gifsets yet, but! my new obsession with Cloud & Tifa (thanks Rebirth) is definitely getting a design-foward set out of me one of these days. They're simply the best.

Alex's own words (not revealing much, as always):

"Obviously, you’re describing the lead-up to some sort of goodbye line, and suddenly a mirrorball drops into the middle of that situation, which somehow doesn’t seem totally incongruous in my mind. Perhaps on some level, the mirrorball is kind of synonymous with the closing of the show or something like that. But I think what I was imagining is carrying someone’s suitcase to the car and then the lighting suddenly changes and the mirrorball drops in the middle of that situation. It’s like, 'What’s going on there?' I think it does feel like there are a few goodbyes here and there."

In 2016, when describing how he constructs a song, he said (now it gets interesting):

"I sometimes imagine each word to be made using a three dimensional open-top glass alphabet. Each letter built to harness and transport the mirrorball liquid marble of the melody. When the 'substance’ fills up the syllables they seem to shimmer and become weightless. With the addition of close harmony I see colours swirl together, parts of the lyrics glow"

Reddit u/goldentrunks adds to the above (very well put):

" If the way he perceives the melody (in a kinda synesthesia way) is some sort of disco ball of lights, he's using the word mirroball (in the song) as a metaphor for music. Kinda like, "If I'm saying goodbye and this chapter is coming to an end, let me at least hope that something musical is going to come out of this, that it's going to inspire me artistically and end up as a song idea."

Or (my milex kink): "If I'm saying goodbye and this chapter is coming to an end, let me at least hope that something musical is going to come out of this, that it's going to inspire YOU (🐢) artistically and end up as a song idea FOR ME" 🥹
