Meredith Wilson in 1957: *writes a musical where the heroine is a librarian with an attitude/secret romantic who is close with her family but feels alienated by everyone else and thinks of herself as unknowable so instead of putting herself out there she uses her intelligence to lean into the “antisocial bookworm” persona to keep herself from getting hurt but is secretly a little lonely and wishes she had friends but it’s okay because she has her family to take care of and her books and everyone who meets her assumes she’s reticent and calculating but she’s actually just a day dreamer who wants things so badly but she convinces herself those things are unattainable until she meets someone who likes her not in spite of her idiosyncrasies but because of them*
