Ro's favourite sweets?
Also not me having missing Insu and old emperor moment lol. Still supoorting you but Definitely going to miss how things used to be
i think i've answered a similar ask in with the old ro roster but i'll answer it again!! and :( for the insu loss but at least he's still in the book for you to annoy befriend!!
hansol: yakgwa. it's a layered cookie made with honey, sesame oil, ginger, and pressed into moulds to give them a distinctive flower shape. they are then deep fried and covered in a sweet, sticky syrup. hansol prefers not to indulge, but he always thinks 'one more' when reaching for these. he snacked on them a lot as a child.
yongsun: half moon shaped rice cakes with sweet filling such as red bean paste, honey, yuzu or other such ingredients. their mother used to make these for their father, but after the death of the empress, yongsun no longer remembers what their mother's recipe tastes like. sometimes, they sneak to the kitchen and attempt to make it, but it never tastes the same.
wooyoung: dried persimmons. they are harvested in the autumn and strung up during the winter, during which they dry up and a thin layer of powdery persimmon sugar forms on the outside. in the first year he moved to the northern regions, he planted a persimmon tree there.
raon: jeonggwa, also known as dried fruit slices. testing poisons and antidotes and herbal concoctions have made her taste buds very sensitive, and she prefers milder flavours because of that. she also prefers them because they are easy to snack on mindlessly when she's doing research in the clinic.
no-eul: dragon's beard candy. no-eul is fascinated by the pulling and stretching and gets easily excited when the craftsman puts on a good show. the thin white sugar strands are then wrapped around crushed peanuts, and no-eul enjoys shoving the entire thing into their mouth for a taste of sweetness.
????: curdled milk sweets. it is made by mixing cheese curds with sugar and wild berries and cutting the curds into different shapes and patterns. they take a while to melt in the mouth, so ???? enjoys sucking on a piece when on a long horseback ride over the mountains.

Vegan blueberry scones with lemon-ginger-cardamom curd
Recipe under the cut!
Patreon | Tip jar
Makes 8-12 scones
INGREDIENTS:
For the scones:
2 3/4 cup (330g) all-purpose flour
1/2 cup (114g) light brown sugar
1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar
zest of 1 lemon (about 1 tsp)
1 Tbsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 inch chunk (5g) ginger, peeled and grated (optional)
1/2 cup (113g) very cold non-dairy margarine
3/4 cup soy or other non-dairy milk
2 Tbsp neutral oil
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp almond extract (optional)
1 1/2 cup fresh blueberries
For the lemon curd:
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 Tbsp agar agar flakes*, or 1 Tbsp cornstarch
1/4 cup fresh-squeezed lemon juice (about 2 lemons)
1/2 Tbsp lemon zest (about 2 lemons)
1/2 cup (120g) non-dairy margarine
1-inch chunk (10g) ginger, sliced
5 pods green cardamom, or 1/4 tsp ground cardamom
pinch salt
*If using agar powder, use 1/2 tsp.
INSTRUCTIONS:
For the scones:
Use a surform tool (microplane) to zest the lemon, or use a vegetable peeler to pull off just the top layer of the peel in strips and then mince.
Add flour, sugar, lemon zest, baking powder, salt, and ginger into a large bowl and whisk until combined. (If measuring by volume, measure flour by scooping gently into a dry measuring cup and levelling it off with the flat of a knife.)
Add the margarine and cut it into the bowl with a dough cutter or a fork until most of the pieces of margarine are roughly pea-sized. There may be some larger chunks.
Whisk wet ingredients (milk, oil, and extracts) in a small bowl until combined. Add in with dry ingredients and mix until just combined--the dough should just come together without being sticky. Add more milk 1 Tbsp at a time if necessary.
Add blueberries and gently mix until incorporated.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Form drop scones by dropping heaping spoonfuls of dough two inches apart onto your baking sheet, or form triangular scones by shaping dough into a large, flat circle 3/4" thick and dividing the circle evenly with a sharp knife.
For flakier scones, freeze the shaped batter for about an hour.
Bake at 425F in the upper third of your oven for 20-25 minutes, until scones are firm and golden brown on top and cooked all the way through.
For the lemon curd:
If using whole cardamom: toast pods in a dry skillet on medium for a minute until fragrant. Break pods open and grind cardamom seeds in a mortar and pestle until finely powdered.
Whisk dry ingredients (sugar, agar or cornstarch, zest, cardamom, and salt) in a small sauce pot. Add lemon juice and mix until combined.
Add remaining ingredients (ginger and margarine) and bring to a boil over medium heat, whisking constantly.
Lower heat to medium-low and simmer, whisking often, until thickened. Your curd is ready when your whisk leaves a trail on its surface (remember that it will thicken as it cools).
Pour curd into a bowl and refrigerate until cold.

Level Up Your Cooking: A User’s Guide to Using the Best Quality Curd
Tumblr media
In the fine dining industry, few products have the versatility and flavor-enhancing qualities of high-quality curd. Whether you’re whipping up spicy curries, delicious desserts or refreshing drinks, using the best quality curd is essential to take your cooking to new heights. It is my pleasure to welcome you all to this informative guide. In this user’s guide, we explore tips and techniques to help you use this culinary gem to its full potential and unleash your inner chef.
Raw Premium Quality Curd:
The foundation of exceptional cooking begins with premium quality Curd. Look for curd made from fresh, full-fat milk, preferred dairy products, or sourced from trusted brands. Choose curd that is creamy, smooth and not flavored or sour. Investing in the best quality curd sets the stage for culinary success.
Curd Test at Home:
For the best freshness and taste, consider making your own curd at home. Homemade curd allows you to control the ingredients and fermentation process, resulting in a product tailored to your taste preferences. Use different milk types, fermentation times, and cultures to achieve the perfect balance of creaminess and tartness in your curd.
Enhance the taste with spices and seasonings:
Curd acts as a blank canvas for flavor experimentation, making it the perfect platform for various seasonings and spices. Add depth and complexity to your dishes by adding aromatic spices like cumin, coriander, turmeric and garam masala to your curd-based recipes. Experiment with fresh herbs, garlic, ginger and chillies to create bold and vibrant flavor profiles.
Use Curd as a marinade or tenderizer:
Take advantage of curd’s tenderizing properties by using it as a marinade for meat, poultry, or vegetables. The acidity of curd helps break down the proteins, resulting in soft, flavorful foods. Combine curd with spices, herbs, and citrus juices to create a flavorful marinade that infuses your ingredients with moisture and flavor. Soak your proteins for several hours or overnight for optimal results.
Make the cream sauces and dressings:
Curd lends itself beautifully to creamy sauces and dressings, adding richness and texture to your culinary creations. curd simmered with aromatic spices, tomatoes and onions and stirred into a velvety curry sauce. Alternatively, mix curd with herbs, garlic and lemon juice to create a refreshing dressing for salads or grilled vegetables. The possibilities are endless when it comes to curd-based sauces and dressings.
With these tips and techniques, you’ll be well-equipped to harness the full potential of the best quality curd and elevate your cooking to new heights of flavor and creativity. Whether you use curd as a marinade, sauce base, or flavor enhancer, its creamy texture and tangy flavor are sure to impress. Embrace the versatility of curd in your kitchen and show off your culinary skills in every dish you create.

Tips for Making the Most of Women's History Month To help you have the best trip possible while celebrating Women’s History Month at Disney World, keep these tips in mind: Make dining reservations early. As soon as your 180-day booking window opens, reserve tables at the restaurants you most want to visit. Availability may be more limited than usual for signature dining rooms and special events. Check the hours. Some locations may have special hours for Women’s History Month offerings, so confirm before you go to avoid disappointment. Look into dining packages. Booking a dining package combines a meal with reserved seats for an entertainment offering like a fireworks' dessert party or a Cirque du Soleil show. This allows you to maximize your time in the parks and not have to wait in long standby queues. Download the My Disney Experience app. You’ll get up-to-date menus, mobile ordering capabilities, and notifications about extended hours or sold-out items. Link your tickets and dining reservations too. Arrive early or late. Without the help of FastPass, you may encounter long wait times at popular attractions. Try to tour the parks during parades, fireworks or the afternoon break to avoid peak crowds. Pack snacks. Bringing your own snacks can save money for splurges on unique specialty dishes. Granola bars, trail mix, and fresh fruit travel easily in a backpack. Share dishes. If you’re dining with a group, select one special appetizer and entrée to split so more people can try the seasonal offerings. Just request extra plates ahead of time.

How to Order Sattvic Food During Mahashivratri on the Train
Tumblr media
Mahashivratri, a sacred Hindu festival dedicated to Lord Shiva, is a time of fasting, prayer, and spiritual reflection. As devotees embark on train journeys during this auspicious occasion, maintaining a sattvic diet becomes essential. Fear not! Let’s explore how you can order sattvic food during Mahashivratri while traveling by train, with a special focus on Zoop India.
1. Plan Ahead:
Before your train journey, plan your meals thoughtfully. Research the train route and identify the stations where you can order sattvic food. Keep your ten-digit PNR number handy; you’ll need it for online food orders.
2. Zoop India: Your Sattvic Companion:
Zoop India is your go-to platform for ordering food on trains. While it primarily caters to regular meals, it also offers sattvic options during festivals like Mahashivratri. Here’s how to make the most of Zoop:
a. Visit the Zoop India Website:
Head to the Zoop India website.
Enter your train details or PNR number to access the menu.
b. Explore the Sattvic Delights:
Zoop India collaborates with FSSAI-approved restaurants to serve passengers wholesome sattvic meals.
Let’s dive into the sattvic offerings:
Sabudana ki Khichdi:
A beloved fasting meal, Sabudana ki Khichdi is rich in protein, carbohydrates, and calcium.
It provides quick energy and aids digestion.
Order this Navratri special from Zoop India and savor its goodness.
Kuttu Ka Dosa:
Craving something crispy during Navratri fasting? Kuttu ka Dosa with potato fillings is your answer.
Made from soaked rice, chana dal, urad dal, and thuvar dal, it’s a tasty alternative to deep-fried kuttu ki puris or pakoras.
Plus, it’s weight-loss friendly!
Singhare ke Atte ka Samosa:
Singhare (water chestnut) flour samosas are potassium-rich and low in sodium.
These underwater-grown samosas are perfect for maintaining energy levels during fasting.
Order them via Zoop India and relish their unique flavor.
Aloo ki Kadhi:
As Navratri restricts ginger-garlic and onion consumption, Aloo ki Kadhi steps in.
Made with sattvic ingredients—potatoes, chilies, water chestnut flour, and curd—it’s a delightful dish.
Enjoy it during the auspicious nine days, even while traveling by train.
Makhana Kheer:
Makhana, also known as fox nut, takes center stage in this dessert.
Prepared by blending makhana, sugar, dry fruits, and milk, Makhana Kheer is a finger-licking delight.
Savor it during your journey as you celebrate Mahashivratri.
3. Traditional Tie-Ups:
Apart from Zoop India, the Indian Railways has collaborated with ISKCON to provide sattvic food on long-distance trains. You can order food inside the train from the Govinda restaurant of the ISKCON temple1.
Remember, during Mahashivratri, these services may have special menus. So, stay spiritually connected, relish the sattvic meals, and enjoy your train journey! 🙏🍽️

REGIONAL SPECIALITIES
Tumblr media
Despite recent setbacks beef is still big industry in England, and the Scottish Aberdeen Angus is one of our most famous beef-producing breeds. Dairy cattle are also farmed extensively -- England is famous for its creams and butters and for its sturdy and delicious cheeses: Stilton, Cheshire and its rare cousin blue Cheshire, double Gloucester, red Leicester, sage Derby, and of course cheddar.
Some of our more interesting dishes include:-
Beefsteak, Oyster, and Kidney Pudding: Oysters may seem unlikely in this meat pudding, but their great abundance in the Victorian age and earlier eras inspired cooks to find ways to incorporate them creatively in many different recipes. This steamed pudding combines the meats with mushrooms, onions, tomatoes, and Worcestershire, then wraps the whole in a suet pastry.
Black Pudding: invented in Stornoway, Isle of Lewis black pudding is often served as part of a traditional full English breakfast.
Black Pudding Recipe
Cock-a-Leekie : This Scottish specialty can be classified as a soup or a stew. It combines beef, chicken, leeks, and prunes to unusual and spectacular ends.
Crown Roast Lamb: The crown roast encircles a stuffing of apples, bread crumbs, onion, celery, and lemon.
Eccles Cake : Puff pastry stuffed with a spicy currant filling.
Hasty Pudding: A simple and quick (thus the name) steamed pudding of milk, flour, butter, eggs, and cinnamon.
Irish Stew: An Irish stew always has a common base of lamb, potatoes, and onion. It could contain any number of other ingredients, depending on the cook.
Likky Pie Leeks: pork, and cream baked in puff pastry.
Mincemeat: Beef suet is used to bind chopped nuts, apples, spices, brown sugar, and brandy into a filling for pies or pasties - not to be confused with minced meat!.
Mulligatawny Soup: What this soup is depends on who is cooking it. Originally a south Indian dish (the name means pepper water in tamil), it has been adopted and extensively adapted by the British. Mullitgatawny contains chicken or meat or vegetable stock mixed with yogurt or cheese or coconut milk and is seasoned with curry and various other spices. It is sometimes served with a separate bowl of rice.
Syllabub: In the seventeenth century, a milkmaid would send a stream of new, warm milk directly from a cow into a bowl of spiced cider or ale. A light curd would form on top with a lovely whey underneath. This, according to Elizabeth David, was the original syllabub. Today's syllabub is more solid (its origins can also be traced to the seventeenth century, albeit to the upper classes) and mixes sherry and/or brandy, sugar, lemon, nutmeg, and double cream into a custard-like dessert or an eggnog-like beverage, depending upon the cook.
Trifle: Layers of alcohol-soaked sponge cake alternate with fruit, custard and whipped cream, some people add jelly, but that's for kids.
Welsh Faggots: Pig's liver is made into meatballs with onion, beef suet, bread crumbs, and sometimes a chopped apple. Faggots used to be made to use up the odd parts of a pig after it had been slaughtered.
Welsh Rabbit (or Rarebit): Cheese is grated and melted with milk or ale. Pepper, salt, butter, and mustard are then added. The mix is spread over toast and baked until "the cheese bubbles and becomes brown in appetizing-looking splashes" (Jane Grigson in English Food, London: Penguin, 1977).
Westmoreland Pepper Cake: Fruitcake that gets a distinctive kick from lots of black pepper. Other ingredients include honey, cloves, ginger, and walnuts.
