Is the Samjogo the best unit in the empire?

yes and no. the samjogo is up there among the best, but are more skilled in matters of guarding against assassins, maintaining the security of the emperor and carrying out missions. there are other units in the haeian army that have more war feats and are more 'honoured', which is why many people were surprised when hansol chose to join the samjogo of his own volition.

if he hadn't gone to the samjogo, hansol likely would have followed in his father's footsteps and joined the central army's ilshikgeom — eclipse sword unit — where jeong taewoo is currently serving.

I gotta say I love and HATE how secretive/non-spoilery you are with your future plans and what can/will happen with everyone.

Most other IF authors I've seen are way more happy, cheeky, and gushy about sharing spoilers/hints/characters interactions that haven't been implementing yet but so far as I've seen you keep on giving these ominous hints and when someone asks or has a theory (right or wrong) you're ALWAYS just "tee hee maaaaybe!! 🤭"
