Okayyy so what if… um hear me out.

What if I write an everlark fanfic but it’s the legend of Zelda but genderbent?

Like Peeta is Zelda and katniss is link.

SERIOUSLY HEAR ME OUT I think this could really work! Peeta? Magical baby girl I love him so much he could be Zelda if he starred getting into engineering and science and stuff. Katniss? Katniss already is link. Are you kidding me? Doesn’t speak? Check! Loves to eat? Check! Bizarrely domestic? Check! The only different is that katniss isn’t a total fashionista that needs to wear a low back top to battle but WE CAN WORKSHOP THIS!

I can just see them, under the stars, sharing a tent, not thinking that maybe they could forget about the war by making out for several hours. That’s SO THEM.

How would a genderbent L turn out? What about an M takada and Misa

Genderbent L hmm...I think fem!L would be a "not like other girls" kinda girl. Fem!L would be a lot more condescending & patronizing towards the men she works with because of the gendered expectations they hold towards her. She'd have long hair and would like to twirl it sometimes when deep in thought (like Near does, both in manga and the oneshot). She'd also be very ambitious in her career goals, just like in canon. And she wouldn't care about beauty standards at all, she just wants cake & justice :D

I feel like she would be a bit like Raven except with longer hair from Teen Titans:

-fiercely intelligent, mysterious, secretive, quiet, moody, sarcastic, cold & bluntly rude at times etc.

Male!Misa would be a little like Peeta Mellark, I think. Both would be charismatic, popular, outwardly kind & nice with a very likeable personality. They both are clever yet subtle in their manipulations. Male!Misa pursuing Light would seem a lot more creepy than when female Misa was pursuing Light. I guess Male!Misa would also be a bit like Matsuda: not exactly intellectually bright but resourceful nonetheless, cheerful, reckless, brave etc.

Male!Takada would be somewhat like Light, I guess? Not a genius like him tho, yet still very smart in his (Takada's) own right. Very political & ambitious (not unlike female Takada) too. And would view his good looks as an asset(+scoff at people who fall for them alone, as he'd judge them to be shallow but at the same time be secretly flattered). Sadly, male!Takada would also be deeply sexist like Light & would dislike "stupid women" as female Takada did.

I'm gonna be honest. When I first heard of Gale/Delly, I dismissed it on the spot. It seemed like a Katniss/Peeta, but just genderbent. Except that Gale is Katniss, but more intense. And Delly is Peeta, but times 10. They seemed too different.

BUT.

The more y'all talk about it... the more I'm starting to see it.

What Should I Write Next?

Y'all, I need help!!! I'm having one rollercoaster of a time trying to decide which one of my many, many fanfics to focus on writing, and I thought that maybe I'd put it up for a vote? I'll list the options and descriptions below!

TWIN STARS OF IMLADRIS (pre-LOTR canon) - Basically, Elladan hears a dangerous secret of Saruman's in the goblin tunnels while saving Celebrian, disappears after she sails, and joins the Tolkien-verse equivalent of the League of Assassins, all while Elrohir has no idea what's going on and thinks his brother chose mortality. (Major angst, Elrohir/Tauriel ship)

SON OF THE EARTH (Hobbit/Narnia Crossover AU) - Kili dies in the Hobbit, in transported to Narnia, is having the time of his life almost dying while saving the world (again), and really hopes that Fili came here too. (Friendship, with the potential for Susan/Kili)

PRECIOUS STONES AND WRETCHED GEMS (Silmarillion AU) - Genderbent!Caranthir/Finrod, with Carnistire being the Feanoriel equivalent of Galadriel. Things would deviate from canon more than you might think.

MY LIFE'S A MAZE OF INSANITY AND HUNGER (Hunger Games/Maze Runner AU) - Essentially, Newt is Finnick's little brother, gets reaped in the 74th Games as punishment for Finnick. Peeta doesn't exist (sorry, messes with my canon too much), Finnick spurs the rebellion early in a desperate attempt to save his brother, and...yeah, a whole lotta chaos.

SEE THE PLEA BEHIND MY EYES (Maze Runner AU) - So, Thomas and Aris switch places in the Maze, Aris and Teresa switch places in gender (Genderbending, people. Love it. What else is fanfiction for?), and Minho decides that the new cynical, brunette girl who's the Glade's newest Greenie has got to be Newt's soulmate. (Aris/Newt ship)

Out of all of these, I've gotta say that See the Pleading would be my favorite, but...what say y'all?
