Citron asks Chikage about his roots this time around.

I am quite hungry from all this rehearsing.

Omi-kun said he’s gonna make pasta for dinner tonight. There’s also Napolitan and some spicy arrabbiata.

I’m glad Fushimi-san cooks for us during rehearsals to cheer us on.

Guy

Guy

However, I think it’s better to be like “I got no idea what this guy is thinking” when it comes to that role.

Thinking abt trans hcs I don't think I've ever shared my favourites so. Here.

The most real and true one to me is Tasuku, Taichi, and Muku all being transmasc... Taichi looks up to Tasuku as someone cool and manly and Muku looks up to him as a "prince" and I think both those things become even sweeter if they're all trans :')

I think Madoka is untapped potential for xenogenders and neopronouns. Ignoring for a minute that JP pronouns don't really do that afaik. My rationale being: Madoka absolutely needs to do stuff that's quote unquote "cringe". I think it'd do cir a lot of good with how ci grew up to just make up something new for cleself. Yes I'm spitballing ci/cir/cle neopronouns I'm writing this at 11pm. Obviously this is also matching Sumi triangle neopronouns.

And most important actually is Guy gender... nonbinary Guy is a decently popular hc and I do sometimes get a little hmmm about it since it's obvious Why but. Well. Guy was raised as a robot, and everyone always acknowledges them as male, meaning they were also raised as a boy, meaning the presence of a perceived gender is not itself a human thing - or, at least, it isn't to them. The presence of "free will" is considered to be the defining difference between human and animal, and it's certainly the difference between human and robot. Questioning concepts like gender is one exertion of free will. If I had the brain power to think more deeply about it I'd love to write a fic about Guy questioning their gender as a humanising experience, as an example of autonomy... alas, this small paragraph is the best I can do, since this has been a thought for a couple years now.

Chikage and Izumi help Guy out with something after a shopping trip.

What’re these flowery spices?

Chikage

This is Mah Kwan. It’s pepper used in Thai cuisine.

It gives the tongue this tangy, numbing feeling along with this refreshing citrus aroma on the side.

Izumi

Okay, then what about these chili peppers over here?

Chikage

This is Espelette. It’s the name of a small village in France, it’s also named “The City of Chili Peppers.”

Izumi

I see…

(I knew I’d learn a lot when I came to buy spices here with Chikage-san.)

Chikage

It might be delicious to make curry that mixes all of these. I’ll feed it to director-san first then.

It’s not as good as director’s curry, but it’s not bad either.

I had to adjust the spice mixture.

The red chili from the store was a little too spicy, so I halved the amount and added paprika powder.

Then I also added cardamom instead of allspice.

The first one had so many spices in general that I felt the aromas and flavors interfered with each other.

Guy

I see.

Izumi

Amazing…!

Itaru

I thought for sure I wandered into the death kitchen of some mad doctor.

Yup! I made it with the the spices we bought recently.

I thought it was kinda weird to give curry to someone who was making curry, but I wanted you to be the first one to try it.

Chikage

…Thanks. I’ll take it.

Izumi

I made a slightly sweet, soft curry with a coconut milk base, with cinnamon and pumpkin spice.

I know this kind of curry isn’t at all enough for Chikage-san, but since you only ever eat really spicy food… I came up with this.

Ah! And just in case you were wondering, I brought some garam masala for additional spiciness!

Chikage

…No, I think this one looks more like the type of curry made by director-san.

Besides——.

Izumi

Spices shouldn’t be mixed in recklessly, after all.

Chikage

Exactly.

Thanks for going out of your way to bring me food. Thanks to you, I’ll be able to make delicioius curry.
