So I've been seeing more and more battle shonen anime fans interested in more female lead characters, stronger female friendships and less objectification of women in general and that's great! When they get told that such a thing does exist, the Magical Girl genre, the unfortunate response is hostility.

And I get it, MG anime can be unapologetically feminine. Frilly, pink & sparkly and full of cute boy drama OR ....it's full of fanservice.... and if none of those things are your cup of tea I can see why that'd be a turn off if that's what you're expecting from the get go.

But! What if I told you that the magical girl anime genre has been going on for almost 60 years and it's not all the same! (wow!)

So here are 6 titles (3 part of the shonen demographic & 3 part of the shoujo demographic) that might change your mind. Also all of these are safe for viewers 13+

Granbelm - The most recent entry here, Granbelm is a “Battle Royale” style mecha show where 7 girls duke it out to win the coveted title of the “Princeps Mage” where they’re able to shape the world as they’d like with all the magic they can control. Has all the 80’s staples: robots, side ponytails, sword fighting in armored bikinis, artistic music video sequences, you name it! The performance of the late Hiromi Tsuru as Yohko is also very sincere and lovely. If you’re a sakuga buff don’t overlook it!

3. Little Witch Academia (TV Series) - Yeah witches totally count as magical girls! The genre started with witches after all. But anyway: the over-excitable Akko joins the Luna Nova magic academy to learn witchcraft to follow in the footsteps of her idol Shiny Chariot the witch. Magic in this world is treated like it’s been alongside the modern world this whole time but is seen as archaic, unimpressive & useless compared to the breakthroughs of technology. Practicers of “old magic” are a dying breed and trying to find ways to stick to their roots but still be relevant, and the enthusiastic but pesky Akko might just be what they need. 4. Magic Knight Rayearth - More magical fantasy worlds & giant robots! Taking story & aesthetic inspiration from 90’s Fantasy RPG games, Rayearth is about 3 normal schoolgirls chosen to save a princess held captive by the dark lord Zagato. Our leads Hikaru, Umi & Fuu become unlikely friends that always have each other's backs no matter what the untamed land of Cephiro has to throw at them. Original manga by CLAMP & animated by TMS.

5. Revolutionary Girl Utena - This one’s a bit of a doozy but I think it’s a critical darling for good reason. Utena is a new student at Ohtori Academy but has already gained the reputation for being a rule breaking tomboy determined to become a prince that always defends others. After getting into a fight with a student council member to stick up for her friend, Utena is thrusted into Ohtori Academy’s sword fighting duels to win the hand of The Rose Bride Anthy and her mysterious power that’s said to hold the key to “Revolutionize the World” 

A very allegory heavy work that also deals with heavy topics such as abuse, homophobia, incest, sexual assault but in a way that’s intrinsic to the work itself and it’s characters. I’d say the overall theme of Utena is about the struggles of teen adolescence and it doesn’t shy away from whatever those struggles are and what it may stem from. A bit polarizing but I think if you give it a chance you’ll be incredibly rewarded 

6. Futari wa Pretty Cure - Wait come back! I know you’re thinking this was all a trap just for me to say “Watch Precure!” but I genuinely think the 1st season is a great magical girl show for someone who’s only used to action anime. Directed by Daisuke Nishio of DBZ fame, Pretty Cure was incredibly risky & experimental for its day giving it’s heroine’s hand to hand combat moves and more dangerous stunts & enemies from week to week and finishing off their enemies with a grand lightning attack. Beyond that, Nagisa & Honoka have an “opposites attract” dynamic with Nagisa being a jock with insecurities about herself & Honoka being an outspoken & adventurous lover of science. The bond that grows between these two is really heartwarming and genuine.

Hello All, Space here to tell you why YOU !! Should read classic manga Magic Knight Rayearth. 

“What’s that?” you ask? You’ve never heard of Magic Knight Rayearth? Well, I am here to tell you ALL about it.

WHAT IS MAGIC KNIGHT RAYEARTH?

Magic Knight Rayearth is a 6 volume manga about magical girls, giant robots, and isekai. Yes, you read that right. All three amazingly loved tropes together and it’s done seamlessly and beautifully. You’ll laugh, you’ll say ‘wtf’, you’ll sob big Ghibli tears. 

Also like. If you have any intention to actually read this manga after this post, don’t google anything? Seriously don’t. It’s only 6 volumes but googling will spoil literally every twist and turn this series has and BOY DOES IT HAVE SOME. I’m not gonna spoil you for them. Don’t spoil yourself.

To put into perspective how much I love this series and how badly I've wanted people to read it for years: I was pinching pennies for p much my entire life until very recently. I read this series when I was 14 (~20+ years ago oh god) and fast forward to today I'm still a penny pincher but I went out of my way to collect 5 different full copies of this series in various printings and languages because I just. I gotta. I love it. I have a copy that is a dedicated loner copy so I always have one ready for someone to borrow and read. PLEASE understand how much I love this series and go along with me here.

All right, so the story goes like this: three middle school girls on a field trip to Tokyo Tower get summoned to an alternate world called Cephiro. Oh by the way, they go to different schools. Also they’ve never met before. 

You’ve got rich, beautiful hothead, Umi Ryuzaki. Her magic element is water, fierce and unforgiving. Her two loving parents are still in their honeymoon phase 14 years later. They’re rich, she loves food, she is kinda selfish, but has such a great character arc because of it. She’s amazing and I would die for her. 

After her, you’ve got polite but very very shrewd and thoughtful, Fuu Houoji. Her element is wind, kind, occasionally harsh, and healing. Fuu is the one with plans, who is very sweet and formal but also very conniving if you aren’t paying close attention. She cares deeply about those around her  while also being realistic. Sometimes she can be a little aloof, but it’s ok she’s cute.

And finally last girl, BEST GIRL, Hikaru Shidou. Energetic, sympathetic, understanding, and eternally the best. Her element is fire, she IS the magic knight of Rayearth, the titular character, the beautiful perfect darling angel who has never done anything wrong in her life. She goes to an all girls’ school. She has three older brothers. Almost every girl in her school has a crush on her. She is oblivious as fuck. She grew up in a kendo dojo and beat her father in a match when she was in kindergarten and that’s why he’s not around. She has the biggest heart in the universe. I love her. I would beat gen urobuchi in a denny’s parking lot at 3am for her honor. 

These three girls meet a magician, Guru Clef. This lil dude. 

The rare “small boy who is actually a bajillion years old” trope before it was such an annoying trope to use on women characters, but he’s 700+ years old and the most powerful sorcerer in Cephiro. He gives the girls magic and armor, and tells them they were summoned by Princess Emeraude to save Cephiro. 

How do they do that?

By talking to the chief Pharle (artisan, blacksmith, etc) of Cephiro named Presea to make them weapons. And oh yeah they have to use those weapons to revive the rune gods.

Y’know.

Big Giant Mechs. 

Waking these bad boys up takes a lot for the girls and it’s really really good seeing how they go about it and what they're willing to do to accomplish it.

I’m not gonna spoil the story for you but I WILL go through some of the other characters.

You’ve got:

Princess Emeraude. The Pillar of Cephiro, imprisoned and kept from praying for Cephiro’s well being. She’s sweet, she’s heartbroken, she wants her world to be safe again. 

Next to her you have the High Priest Zagato, her second, the antagonist who got the ball rolling on this whole thing. He’s gloomy, he’s serious, he’s methodical and looming. 

I mentioned Presea, did I mention her already? She’s great. She’s feisty and loud and would be THE most amazing dom queen if she could ever find a sub willing to tolerate her. 

She makes the weapons for the girls and also gives them a guide to find the rune gods.

Oh yeah their guide. 

So like. Probably obvious by now but in case it’s not, this is an early 1990s CLAMP series. You know CLAMP. They did xxxholic and Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles and Card Captor Sakura. Yeah, this series came before ALLLLLL of those. 

You know that lil fuckin rabbit mascot they have?

That’s Mokona. He’s their guide. This is the series he originated from. 

Mokona is an adorable caring little shit who knows exactly what he’s doing at all times.  He helps them out but my god. The way he makes their blood pressure skyrocket on the journey there. 

Then we’ve got Ferio. A traveling swordsman who enters tournaments. Unfortunately Fuu’s straight alignment. But he’s fine, he’s cute. He’s got like… a whole Thing about him that I won’t explain but know that he’s okay. He’s all right.

The latter three volumes expands their allies to some other people that I cannot spoil but please know: they’re gay. They are all gay. There’s no heterosexual explanation for any of them. You think "oh that's a straight couple". Wrong. They're all gay, even if they're straight. One of them is like. Holy shit I cannot express how obviously gay they are. This isn’t like. “Oh you’re reading too into it with your fandom eyes”, I mean this is like. Wow. You two had the worst ghosting breakup and should get back together because it was over something stupid. 

There are a fair number of villains and only one of them is like. Pure Actual Evil and I won’t tell you which one it is but the rest are all VERY satisfying in their character stories and arcs and I love them all dearly. Got some hot magic ladies, got some nervous quiet men, and some awkward cute boys. The whole variety is there! 

Aside from the great characters, the artwork is GORGEOUS. 

I know in this day and age of 2023 digital art and speedy turnarounds of weekly manga releases, all the art is crisp and kinda minimal except for big scenes, and people like that. 

But also consider: gorgeous detailed intricate illustrations. 

And I still won’t spoil you for the story, but it will still surprise you I swear to you. 

“Okay but isn’t there an anime? Can I just watch that instead?” Look at me. I am holding your hands gently, and I am looking you in the eye as I pull you close and tell you: no. 

You notice all the artwork I've shared is specifically manga art. The anime is. ……………………………………………… not great. It has its pros like padding out filler episodes so they can flesh out the girls’ friendship and some of the side characters. But in having to pad out a 6 volume manga to two 26 episode seasons, some Decisions Were Made that were not in the best interest of the series or its themes. And when I say that, I do mean the very core of some of who these characters are. Motivations and internal goals changed for no reason, added characters for padded run time, an entire character killed for no reason only for their (anime only) twin to dress up and pretend to be that character because the directors realized “oh shit that character is in the second half uhhhhh quick”. It’s not great and it’s just not a lot of fun. 

All I’m saying is please please give this manga a read. It’s very quick, you can finish it in like. 3 days tops. It’s beautiful, it’s heartbreaking, it’s tragic and hopeful. 

I’m gonna leave this with a link to read it online and some other characters I didn’t mention because I just think they’re neat.

She’s a well written JJK female character, she supports gender equality and doesn’t have a “damsel” bone in her body. Goku (Dragon Ball Z) Goku gets a lot of disrespect from Vegeta fanboys, and many think he’s a lot worse as a parent (which there’s an argument for) in the DBZ fandom. But the fact is Goku is an empathetic character and does have a lot of emotional intelligence for someone who lacks actual intelligence in other areas. He’s sharp, witty when it counts, and more perceptive than he lets on. 9. Kenshin Himura (Rurouni Kenshin) The wanderer, the Rurouni as he calls himself. Kenshin is a man who fought in the war and slayed many people. To atone for his past, he uses a reverse blade if needed to save others. He’s not the sharpest tool in the box, though he is fairly intelligent. But his emotional intelligence is where his strength lies. 10. Subaru Natsuki (Re:Zero) Subaru is a lot of things. He’s what I’d call an ambivert for his ability to extrovert when needed, and go back into his shell when necessary. He’s good with kids and knows how to socialize and put others’ needs first (which improves over time). Subaru is just good at reading other people’s emotions and understanding people’s feelings when Emilia, the anime’s heroine, isn’t at the centre of it. He’s a deep thinker with incomparable amounts of inner strength. 11. Fuu Hou-Ouji (Magic Knight Rayearth) Fuu is one of the magic knights and the one who represents the colour green, from her eyes to her outfit, sword, and so on. She’s more gentle, soft-spoken, and feminine than other girls in the anime if you wanna be stereotypical. And her emotions run deep, which can either be a strength or a hindrance depending on how she utilises it. 12. Hachiman Hikigaya (Oregairu) Hachiman’s “nice guy” speech in the Oregairu series is legendary and is one of the best speeches given in a slice of life anime series. He’s clearly no fool or a pushover. He doesn’t make friends just so everyone else can think he’s cool, popular, or wanted and needed. He doesn’t give a fuck. He does what’s true to him, and that’s part of the reason he’s so frustrated since finding those who are genuine and having genuine relationships is so hard to find. Not to mention it’s a treasure in itself. 13. Chisato (Lycoris Recoil) Chisato likes to fool around a lot, seems stupid, acts like a lazy twat, and lacks the surface level motivation that Takina has (the anime’s other MC). But in reality, she’s just say going, laid back, fun, extroverted, and most of all, she knows a LOT more than she lets on. In this way, she’s similar to characters like Glenn Radars who seem less capable than they really are when it comes down to it. With a high EQ and smarts. 14. Nagomi Wahira (Akiba Maid War) Nagomi Wahira is the main character in the Akiba Maid War series. A girl who becomes a maid because one day she saw a maid outdoors, and thinks it would be a good job to get into. Little did she know the business is full of maids who are gangsters, and who are part of bigger gangs fighting for turf, and will assassinate others if needs be. Nagomi’s mindset somewhat influences and changes those around her, which has a massive impact on the story and the industry in general. This is in part because of her emotional intellect. 15. Chigusa Sakai (Shakugan No Shana) The mother of Yuji Sakai, the anime’s main character. Chigusa isn’t the most famous anime mother at all, but she is easily ranked among the best when you analyze her character. She’s wise, insightful, has strong intuition, and can read people better than a book. But her intentions are pure, and her heart is golden. It’s her perspective on life that makes Chigusa such a beautiful character. She deserves an award for the best anime mom. 16. Towa Higurashi (Yashahime) Towa is arguably the weaker of the three sisters, but that changes over time. What Towa has from the start though that others love, is a sensitivity to other people’s feelings and an emotional understanding the other two sisters lack. She’s a fair person, and will only harm those who intend to do any harm. She thinks deeply and is clearly a person who’s emotionally driven, which is why her actions are so pure and sincere. 17. Rumia Tingel (Rokudenashi) Rumia is the adopted sister of Sistine in the anime and light novel series. She’s the one who isn’t too flashy, doesn’t say too much more than she needs to, and is an overall nice person. Behind this “nice” person is someone whose inner strength, as paraphrased by the anime’s MC, is scary. He puts it like “it’s almost as if she’s always ready to die” when describing her resolve. She’s the sharpest character in the series when it comes to emotions, matters of the heart, and being able to decipher and see what’s below the surface with so much ease. 18. Yuji Itadori (Jujutsu Kaisen) Yuji is like Naruto in this way, which is typical of a Shounen-style protagonist. He’s not the sharpest tool in the shed, but his emotional intelligence is something else altogether. He also has a sense for things in a fight, and can usually pick out odd details that are missing from the average person’s perception and vision. 19. Konori Mii (A Certain Scientific Railgun) Konori Mii is another female character who can read situations much better than others, and that’s without the need for her esper ability which is X-RAY. She’s calm, relaxed, and even in tense situations, she doesn’t lose her head or panic. This plays into her strong emotional intelligence and high levels of  EQ. 20. Mirajane Strauss (Fairy Tail) Mirajane Strauss might be the nicest character in Fairy Tail, and for good reason. She’s one of the anime’s strongest as far as guilds go, and since she was cursed by a demon of sorts, she now has the ability to control and become a demon. This is why most characters don’t get on her bad side. That aside, Mirajane understands that once a person has been hurt, it makes them want to be nicer to others, which reflects her own life story. I haven't thought of taking requests yet since it is my first time writing and posting, but I'm willing to try. I hope you enjoy it, sorry but it is a bit long.

Y/s/n - your son's name

You had met and married your husband while you were in college and had the little one when you just graduated.

Luckily you found a good job that allowed you to work from home and still payed well enough, therefore you could properly prepare the house for the little one. And when you said you, it meant only you.

You didn't expect that you'd have to deal with the pregnancy all alone, morning sickness, even putting the nursery together all by yourself despite your swollen body, going to the doctor's appointments by yourself or with your mother, panicking when you thought you went into labor and were all alone at home.

Whenever you would ask your husband to help, if he was at home, (most times he was working overtime) he'd brush you off with an annoyed scowl or frown and reprimand you for bothering him since he was tired after working so hard. All you asked of him is either to wash the dishes or maybe clean around, since you could barely waddle around sometimes.

Sure, he was like that at the beginning of the relationship but he was more subtle about refusing to help you, you think; now it is just blatant and rude.

It got to a point to where you didn't even think of asking your husband, instinctively just doing it on your own.

This continued even after you gave birth to your beautiful baby boy. But you had put your marriage to a stop when your husband was supposed to pick him up from the daycare and forgot about him.

So imagine the almost heart attack you had when you saw 10 missed calls from the teacher after finishing your yearly check up at the doctor's office, only to find out that your husband hadn't picked up your son and that he had been sitting in the classroom for the past hour.

That alone had firmly ended your marriage, much to your husband's annoyance and indifference Who was supposed to take care of the house and who's going to cook for me?

You were flabbergasted. Therefore, you took your baby and all your stuff and moved onto your parents' house just until you could find a place for the two of you.

As your son grew up, you had tried everything to get your ex-husband to reach out to your son and spend more time with him, but you were most often than not ignored.

You met our captain when your son was around four, the two of you were walking around IKEA to choose the furniture for the new apartment. Syverson saw you struggling to get boxes containing the furniture you really needed today, onto the back of the car, calling out to you the moment he saw you lifting the big boxes. "Woah, hey there, darling. Hold on, let me help you. You gonna break your back and we don't want that, do we?" .

Him calling out had startled you.

"Holy fuu-biscuit! '' you almost cursed but stopped yourself in time as the box slid from your hands and knocked into your knee painfully, wincing as the pain reverberated down your leg. The captain caught the box just in time with a grunt, sliding it into the trunk of the car before turning toward you. "You okay there ma'am?" asked the man, blue eyes studying the grimacing woman before him. "Just peachy." you threw through gritted teeth, rubbing at your knee. "Mommy?" your little boy peaked through the small space between the headrest, nibbling into the biscuit you had given him to keep him distracted while you sorted the boxes out. "Stay there baby, I will be done in a bit." You reassured with a pained smile, leaning against the car.

The captain threw a playful wink to the little boy hiding shyly behind the head rests, chuckling when Y/s/n ducked back into his baby seat.

"Didn't mean to scare you, but I saw you lifting and I couldn't just stay and stare, my momma would have my head." Syverson chuckled, leaning down to get another box from the trolley, much to your protests. "Ah, sir, you don't have to." you protest only to be gently shushed, left to hover hesitatingly as this stranger lifted all those boxes with ease. "Syverson..not sir." he grunted as he placed the last box onto your car before offering you a grin. "No problem at all, as I said, my momma raised me better"

You just stare at him silently, a bit open mouthed as you try to take in the fact that this man, this very handsome, sexy specimen of man but a stranger, nonetheless, had just come over to help just because. Nobody, besides your parents, had helped you just because.

Tears welled up onto your eyes without any warning at the kind gesture, your hands coming up to cover your face as you let out a soft sob "Thank you.".

Of course, our captain would be like a spooked Pikachu. He could handle war, he could handle guns and people dying, but god damn it, he could not take crying women.

"Hey now, darling, don't..come on, everything is alright." Syverson tried to soothe, his hands hovering above you helplessly before thinking oh fuck it! Ignoring the fact that you were a complete stranger and that you could punch him for his inappropriateness, he envelops you onto a hug, running a warm palm down the expense of your back soothingly as he brings you to his chest.

"All is well, darling, let it all out." He whispers, allowing you to cry out your frustration, guessing that everything had been too much for you for a while now since all it took a stranger to help you for you to break down.

You'd think that having to soothe a strange woman in Ikea's parking lot would drive him away, but no, ever since, Syverson has been a constant in yours and your son's life.

After he had made sure you got home safe that day and helped you carry everything into your house and put it together, he left with your number and your promise that you'd call when the rest of the furniture would arrive.

You calling him to help you out with the furniture had turned onto him texting you every few days to check in with you or to send you pictures of his dog, Aika, of which you cooed over when he first showed you pictures of her. Then it turned into you having a cup of coffee or lunch together, and before you knew it he had asked you to be his girlfriend.

Now just because the two of you were together, it didn't mean that you'd expect him to get involved in anything that meant taking care of your son or anything like that ; if your ex-husband, Y/s/n's own father wouldn't do it, why would Sy?

What you didn't realize however, was just how much Syverson was helping you take care of your son. If he found out that you had a long tiring day at work? He'd be over to yours with take away, so you wouldn't have to cook, putting on a movie for the three of you to watch while eating and thus keeping Y/s/n distracted. The night would end up with all three of you cuddled onto the couch, both you and Y/s/n curled up on Sy's chest.

Sometimes whenever Syverson knew you'd have appointments you couldn't get out of, he'd offer to pick Y/s/n up from the day care for you.

Syverson had also been helping you in general as well as around the house, carrying groceries for you, offering to drive you whenever you finished work, knowing how tired you were, going to pick Y/s/n together, fixing different things around the house.

It took you a while to realize how just easier it was to breathe these days with Syverson helping you out. But then guilt settled in. You were sure that Syverson had better things to do than to take care of you. And that's when you stopped relying on his help so much.

You started doing groceries on your own, tried fixing stuff around the house the best you could, being careful not to tell Syverson if you had any problems regarding the house or the car. Knowing him, he'd immediately fix them.

Of course, our captain being our captain instantly caught on, but he let it go, waiting for the perfect opportunity to question you.

And he had, on one of your dates. Your parents had offered to take care of Y/s/n so the two of you could enjoy your date and some time alone.

"You know, little berry." Syverson's voice rumbled from beneath your cheek as the two of you lay naked in your bed spent from your lovemaking, thick arms coiling around your waist as he gathered you into his side. " I quite like how you became a handyman around the house.". You instantly tensed, understanding his meaning instantly. Forcing yourself to relax, you stare at his furry abdomen. "Oh yea?" you asks nonchalantly, keeping your gaze hidden stubbornly. "Look at me, love." he says firmly, raising your chin until your gaze met. " What happened?". Swallowing thickly, you sweep your eyes over his features before settling on the tiny speck of brown in his orbs. "I.. you don't have to take care of us you know?" you blurt out, teeth sinking into your lower lip. "I mean, you don't owe us anything.." You stop yourself, before you spit out anything else and possibly make him mad.

" Wha- honey, just what is going on in that pretty head of yours?" Syverson stares down at you in disbelief, cupping your cheek. "I never have to take care of the two of you, I want to. I love spending time with you and especially with Y/s/n. He is such a well mannered and calm boy, I could never get mad with him. Where is this all coming from?"

You chew your inner cheek, taking a few minutes to find a way to tell him before deciding to just blurt it out. "My..ex husband..he..never really helped around you know, always complaining that he was too tired or too busy to be help around the house. I started believing him and felt guilty for asking him to help me when he came from long hours of work. I guess..I just instinctively stopped seeking your help when I realized just how much you helped me and Y/n/s and I just..I felt so guilty. I know you have work too and you must be so tired but yet you meet up with us all the time and you do work around the house, my house not even yours and-" "Hey, honey, honey, listen to me. Take a deep breath.." Syverson said with a firm tone, rubbing at the bare skin of your back soothingly. " I am sorry you had to deal with that excuse of a man, but don't ever doubt, everything that I do for you and that little man will never be a bother for me. I do those things..because..I love you, Y/N. " The captain offers you a gentle smile, pressing a soft kiss to your forehead. "I promise I will try to erase everything that that man had done to you, I will be a better man to you that he ever was." His promise brings tears to your eyes, small sobs leaving your mouth as you pull him into a kiss. " I love you too, Syverson. With all my heart." You whisper against his mouth.

And he kept his promise, he had eventually asked you to be his wife and had officially adopted Y/s/n and even gave you another wonderful child, showing you just how wonderful pregnancy can be with him by your side.

⚡️🌶The concept of a Pokémon trainer who catches animal-like creatures instead of making a contract with them like shinobi usually do is a new concept for both, implying that their darling might be from abroad. It’s gotta be a disappointment for them to discover that they won’t find foreign new Pokémon like they might have hoped to do yet Kushina and Minato try to make their stay in here as pleasant and interesting as possible, they surely won’t let their love leave just like this. It’s doubtlessly very clear that their darling might not have any experience at all how to completely fight for themself since in their country Pokémon are used to do this job, though mostly more out of fun reasons. So Minato has probably insisted to teach his darling the standards of fighting.

⚡️🌶Your Fennekin probably ends up being their new pet of some sorts since you as good as never put them back into their ball, declaring that they’re your best friend and kept you company ever since you got them. Knowing how precious this fox is to you, both Minato and Kushina obviously want to be on good terms with it as well. Which turns out to not be entirely easy since the little one is a arrogant little being, sensing that those two people are not completely pure and for that proving to constantly cause troubles for both of them, interfering when those two attempt to show affection to you and ruining things in the house.

⚡️🌶The couple…tries to put all the time a forced smile on their face to hide their growing annoyance, by now having realized that the fox doesn’t like them near you at all. Kushina is the one who at one point gains it’s approval since she turns out to be the bigger animal lover and Fennexis and her are both temperamental so somehow they get along, leaving Minato struggling alone since he’s at this rate the only one who the fox growls at to stay away when it snuggle itself into Kushina’s and your lap whilst you two are together. But it’s not like he can kick the fox out since for some him unknown reason Kushina and the darling love the little one very much when in reality the Pokémon is such a smug and mischievous little thing. It’ll probably will never fully like him, no matter how hard Minato might try.

Temari

🌪Much more stricter when it comes to training her darling what they might have missed in regards of fighting skills due to their foreign roots. She doesn’t express her interest and curiosity in regards of the new system as strong as Minato and Kushina do, but she definitely wants to listen to the stories of her darling and what things were like in their old hometown and continent. Especially the concept of trapping their so called Pokémon in a ball and throw them out of it whenever they’re needed is quite fascinating, not to mention that back in your country people fought with them instead of using any jutsus.

🌪Doesn’t know exactly how to feel at the beginning about your Lucario that has gone through everything with you since she has a hard time estimating it. The Pokémon is far more of a mysterious case to her, very quiet and not interacting much with others. Hearing from you that it’s able to sense feelings and the personality of someone and only trust those that have a good heart made her realize that you must be in that case indeed a very good person when a Lucario has such a close bond to you. At the same time it has her wondering whether the Lucario appears to be so cautious around her because she is obsessed with you.

🌪There is no doubt that this is one of the reasons your Lucario is so incredibly iffy around her, the feeling of uncertainty how to feel about it’s friends lover is mutual. On the one hand Temari has a strong sense of duty and responsibility, she is respectful and would never hurt someone as long as she has no reason to do so. She is strong and ready to protect those she cares about with everything she has yet her darker side isn’t something Lucario can overlook since it includes you. Both of them…act somewhat careful around each other, on the one hand not having complete faith in each other on the other hand also knowing that they seem to share the important similarity that both of them love and care deeply for you. That is what strikes them to work together if you were to be in any danger and they make a terrifying team.

Naruto Uzumaki & Hinata Hyuga

🍜💘They’re both sweethearts so they will try to be as gentle as possible when explaining to their darling that searching for new Pokémon in here won’t do any good, looking on how they are no such creatures in the Land of Fire or any surrounding nation. Both feel bad about it since you were so ambitious after having spent months traveling to this new continent in the highest hopes of discovering new species in here. They’re both a bit worried that after breaking the news down, fearing you might leave, even though Naruto with his greater delusions calms Hinata by saying you love them so you wouldn’t do that. Training with them…is a bit slower since both are worried, especially Naruto, that you’ll hurt yourself.

🍜💘Yet when they’re introduced to your best friend and spoken Greninja, both are shocked to see just how much that frog-like creature reminds them of an actual shinobi. Reflexes, speed and agility is something that the Pokémon possesses better than some actual shinobi and Naruto might feel a tad bit jealous. Despite everything even as a Hokage Naruto is still a very competitive person, specifically since he is a attention-seeker for his s/o who dedicates so much time training with Greninja and getting even stronger. Hinata is more intimidated at first, but she attempts to get closer to your frog since your friend is her friend and she has come to notice that it’s limitlessly loyal to you and would do everything to protect you. Naruto acknowledges this as well, but he wouldn’t admit it out loud.

🍜💘Your friend here has to notice the red flags most likely as well, though it comes to be more careful around Naruto than around Hinata since it believes Naruto to be the intense one. With Hinata it kind of clicks faster, being more of a gentleman/gentlewoman around her as she is still a fine and young lady. The frog constantly offers to help her with the household chores and with time Hinata fully accepts the frog as a part of the family. The relationship between Greninja and Naruto is far more of an interesting one to say the least. The Hokage seems to constantly want to challenge the Pokémon, envying it for the praise it gets from you and Hinata for being such a well-behaved and skilled being. He kind of bickers with it as well, though he is the only one who appears to be petty whilst your friend always keeps calm and a stoic face, agitating Naruto only more and making him feel like he’s being mocked. In reality the ninja-like frog holds respect for Naruto, having seen how much of a hard-working and ambitious person he is.

Gaara

🐼As the Kazekage he welcomes this weird new visitor at the beginning with a bit more caution since he was informed about the peculiar stuff they were talking about, not to mention the exotic animal they were carrying around. Once he was being informed about your reason to come here and where you came from to begin with, he calmed down though he had to explain to you as well that you wouldn’t find what you were searching for in here. And looking on how disappointed you were afterwards, he made you the offer to stay a bit longer so the whole travel at least wouldn’t be for nothing. His s/o is simply just so refreshing with their personality and their many new stories, Gaara finds himself becoming smitten very quickly.

🐼The boy is unsure how to act around Espeon since very similar to Temari, he has troubles figuring it’s personality out. The animal has such a mature and knowing aura around it that Gaara can’t help but feel like it would be insulting to treat it like a completely ordinary pet. This creature he has intelligence, lots of it and the skills and abilities it possesses aren’t a joke either. What terrifies him most would most likely be the fact that it’s loyalty for it’s trainer has driven this Pokémon to learn the ability to presage in order to keep them safe from misfortune.

🐼Yet Espeon never seems to view him as bad luck for it’s trainer, for Gaara relief and Schock for the same time. He’s more on a aware side as well so he always had his doubts whether his feelings are a threat for you or not so he might just allow himself to calm down after this. It’s not like Espeon has complete faith in him, it just doesn’t see him as any potential danger in the moment so that is why it is relatively relaxed around the Kazekage. The guy loves you to death, that much is clear for Espeon and since you love him dearly as well, it will tolerate and settle with the new life for as long until it predicts anything bad. Fuu

🐛She certainly gets excited over pretty much every new visitor in her small and more isolated person, especially when she spots her darling with the foreign insect that constantly flies around them. It only boosts her curiosity and she will be definitely one of the first people to quickly approach her darling and offer them to take her to the village. Even if Shibuki were to disagree, she’d definitely beg him to allow you to stay in here for at least a while, it isn’t everyday she gets to meet new people after all. Additionally Fuu is a Yandere who will take a quick liking to her darling. You can bet that she’d probably want to travel back to your country to see those Pokémon for herself, but at the very latest that is something Shibuki won’t allow.

🐛Having only your stories, books and drawings about the creatures living in your country, your Vivillon is the only real example she has for a living Pokémon. And hearing from how close you and the butterfly are, Fuu only strives to have a similar good relationship with your Pokémon. She’s in general a person who wants to befriend everyone she sees, this butterfly here is surely no exception at all. Constantly ends up talking to Vivillon, mainly about you and how much she loves you and it’s no rare sight that she is seen chasing playfully after the butterfly whenever you two are around and it accompanied you two.

🐛Vivillon is maybe someone to get quickly attached to Fuu as well since she is one of the purest sweeties someone can really only find. Both will end up being good friends in little to no time and even if Vivillon should feel differently, Fuu will probably still nominate it for her best friend. Her obsession and dangerous tendencies are extremely low and almost never there to show themselves and that will put the Pokémon into so much ease up to the point where it might not even realize. So it has little to no problem letting Fuu be it’s trainer’s girlfriend, flapping always right over your heads and sometimes resting on them as well. Fuu was extremely happy the very first time she had the butterfly sitting on her head, taking it as a sign that the two of them were friends.

Miruko

🐇It was really just pure coincidence that she happened to save her darling on that one day where they arrived in Japan and got right away involved into a small villain attack. It was thanks to Miruko that they were quickly captured yet she arrived late enough to be met by the surprising sight of a small bunny about to pummel the villain before she sent them flying with a kick of hers. Might just be the first time for you seeing a hero in real life and the fact that her features reminded you of your own Pokémon was a lucky bonus as well so you probably got quickly curious about her. Miruko was interested as well since she couldn’t help the amusement upon seeing a literal rabbit about to beat a small villain. And you were the owner, weren’t you?

🐇Thinks that Bunnelby is the best Pokémon out there and she stays firmly with that belief of hers. It might really just be that she has a Bunny Quirk herself and loved the bunny Pokémon so much for that, though it’s partially also because this is your friend. It’s going to be her new pet without a doubt as soon as you two move in together and she’s a proud owner. Miruko actually played with the thought of making the small rabbit her new partner in hero work before her darling hastily stopped her, not exactly feeling comfortable with the thought of letting their small friend join, though Bunnelby is a formidable opponent. Miruko accepts that, she likes the fluffy fellow of yours very much as well and in the end it is still your rabbit. The image probably never leaves her head fully though.

🐇The connection between those due to the similar features and abilities might just be the same for Bunnelby as well. It’s kind of frightened at the beginning since Miruko’s confidence can be a bit overwhelming from time to time, but it will see her as a fellow comrade after a bit of time. When looking at her, it is probably reminded of his own race and that is what increases his trust faster, much more since you as it’s trainer seem to like this person as well. The rabbit hero ends up designing a completely new garden and room for the Pokémon to feel comfortable and dig with it’s ears tunnels to rest in when it’s tired.

Erza Scarlet

🛡She has met many people in her life and despite her intimidating first impression, Erza has a heart made out of gold. So when she spotted her darling at first, seemingly searching very confused for something, she offered her help in finding what they were looking for. Like this she got to know that they were from abroad, had decided to start a living here and were very excited about this new life. Growing closer with her darling and falling in love with them, she made them at one point the offer to join Fairy Tail and practicing magic.

🛡She might just have confused a Pokémon for a Celestial Spirit when she first saw you defending yourself with yours only to find out later that it wasn’t completely the same and that in your hometown many had at least one of such creatures which were friends and comrades for lifetime. Falls almost instantly in love with Sylveon after, it’s just such a cute and precious friend to have. Everyone in the Guild probably had the same reaction, everyone loves Sylveon so everyone kind of wishes to be allowed to spend time with it. It’s gentle, pretty and just such a sweet thing and since Erza is your girlfriend and you let her watch over your friend every once in a while, Erza takes this job of hers extremely serious.

🛡The friendship is mutual between the Pokémon and Erza since it quickly sees that Erza is a really friendly and kind person and for that spends often time together with the Mage. Often wraps it’s ribbon-shaped feelers around Ezra’s arm to pull her somewhere, mostly just wanting to take a short walk with her and when the girls went into her room, they often spotted her lying on the bed and Sylveon right on her back, watching whatever she is doing at the moment. Literally bought a whole set of things for the Pokémon and you simply because Erza adores both of you so much.
