It is believed that Ludwig van Beethoven completed “Für Elise” on April 27, 1810. One of the most famous and recognizable pieces of piano music in the world, the piece was not discovered and published until 40 years after Beethoven’s death in 1865.

Lie to me and say you'll never leave
Drown me in your twisted melodies
I'll pretend you wrote 'em all for me, me, me

Recently saw a post by an English person talking about “fur” Elise(the piano piece). Which means „for Elise“.
And I realized people don’t know Umlaute. In german it’s written „für” Elise, or “fuer”.
It’s actually pronounced like the ô in côte d‘Azur.
if a German person says „fur“ they’d mean „fuhr“ the past tense of „drive“ and “drive Elise” makes no sense now, does it?
anyway that was chaotic and I hope you learned not to write “fur” while addressing people in German. :)
