Genre: Neutral // Angst Maybe? // Romance

Preamble: You’ve been going to the same coffee shop for the past four years. You’ve ordered the same thing almost every single day, and you never, ever skip on that part of your morning. So, when Mrs. Park hired a new barista and the once serene café was suddenly flooded with people every second of the day, you were less than thrilled.
Tumblr media
You stood outside of the cafe’s entrance, debating whether or not to enter. It has been two days since the date, and you had been actively avoiding the building. Unfortunately, you just ran out of coffee and really, really wanted the coffee that’s made here. You crossed your fingers, hoping that Mrs. Park was manning the floor this evening.
You flinched when the bell above the door trilled as you entered, hoping it didn’t draw any unwanted attention. You peeked at the work station, checking for any signs that Chan was in today. You cursed yourself for never having asked what his schedule was. You only saw Mrs. Park, who frowned when she saw you.
“Y/n, it’s been a while. Are you alright?” She asked, placing a mug on the counter. You nodded and smiled.
“Yeah, of course.” You replied. She cocked an eyebrow, scoffing.
“You are most definitely not fine, and I don’t appreciate being lied to.” She said, wagging a finger in your direction. Your eyes widened as you stopped in your tracks. “You haven’t been in for days and Chan has never looked more depressed.” Mrs. Park said. You looked down.
“It’s fine, I just didn’t want to come in.” You said. You weren’t lying.
“Then tell me why.” She said. You placed your bag on the bar counter, sliding into a seat.
“I really don’t think it’s my place to say.” You said. She looked down and laughed a little.
“That’s exactly what Chan told me.” She explained. “Tell me what happened.” You hung your head low.
“We just fought.” You finally said. She squinted at you, trying to find any indication whether what you said was true or not.
“Ah, I see.” She said, turning. She had grabbed the mug and hung it up behind her. “I was afraid this would happen.” She mumbled.
“Afraid what would happen?”
“That girl would do something to you two.” She said. “She seemed like trouble.” You let out a sigh.
“It wasn’t her. Chan lied to me.” You said. “Or, at least he broke a promise, which is kind of like lying.” You corrected yourself. Mrs. Park frowned.
“What did he promise you?” She asked.
“I really shouldn’t get into it.” You said. “It’s not fair for me to tell everyone about something like this.” You explained. She hummed and nodded, looking down.
“I had such high hopes for you two.” She said. “What would you like to order today, dear?” She asked. You told her your order, pulling out your textbook. You flipped through the pages, not really paying much attention to what they said. You heard the bell ring, signaling you that there was a new customer. You looked up to see Junseok.
“Hey, Y/n~!” He said, waving. He made his way over to you, smiling. “How’ve you been feeling?”
“So-so. What about you?” You said. He frowned, but understood.
“I’m doing alright, thanks. Can I sit here?” He pointed to the stool next to you. You hummed and smiled.
“Of course.”
He took his seat, placing his book bag on the counter next to yours. “I have a lot of studying to do.” He said. You could see three textbooks protruding from the open end of his bag. He wasn’t exaggerating.
“I felt that.” You said, laughing a little. “Which classes?” You asked.
“Anatomy, calculus, and biology.” He said. You raised a brow.
“Are you a medical major?” You asked. He nodded.
“Yeah. It’s always been a passion for me. What about you?” He asked.
“I haven’t decided yet.” You explained, sighing. “I really should, though.” Junseok chuckled at your exasperation.
“Take your time.” He said. You smiled at his kindness, nodding.
“Alright.” You heard footsteps coming from the employee room, looking up to see a very tired-looking Chan. He ran a hand through his locks, frowning.
“I’m ready to take over. You can go now, Mrs. Par-” He stopped in his tracks when he saw you.
“Thank you, Chan. I’ll see you in a few hours.” Mrs. Park briskly walked past all of you and to the stairs, smiling devilishly. Chan slowly walked over to the both of you, looking at Junseok.
“Would you like something to drink?” He asked. You could faintly see his teeth grit while he spoke. Junseok shook his head.
“I think I’m good for now, thanks bro.” He said.
“You can’t be here if you don’t order anything.” Chan’s voice had become lower, as if he was warning Junseok about something. It took a moment, but then the situation hit you; He was jealous. You rolled your eyes.
“I’ve been here a lot without ordering anything, and the café is pretty much empty. I think he’s fine, Chan.” You said, looking back down at your textbook. You scribbled a note and looked over to Junseok, smiling. He returned the gesture.
“I can order something if you want. It’s not a big deal.” He said. Chan huffed, whipping out a notepad.
“What can I get you?” He asked.
“I think I’ll get a macchiato.” Junseok said. “It’s been a while.” Chan nodded and scribbled the order down, turning away to brew Junseok’s coffee. You glanced between the two boys and sighed softly. It was going to be a long day.
The next few minutes passed peacefully, you and Junseok reading your textbooks and discussing, while Chan prepared the macchiato. The café received no new customers in that time, which you were thankful for. You sighed softly and closed your book.
“I think I need a break.” You admitted. Junseok looked up at you from his textbook, which had a large picture of what you could only imagine was some part of the human body. He nodded.
“I could use one, too.” He said. “Do you want me to take you home?” He asked. You shook your head.
“I’m fine. I think I can get there myself. It’s nice out.” You said. “I might want some more coffee before I leave. You can go if you want.” He hummed.
“Alright. Shoot me a text if you change your mind about that ride.” He said, gathering his things. You nodded and watched him exit the café.
“He didn’t even drink his coffee...” Chan muttered to himself as he took the half-full mug. You pursed your lips.
“I don’t always drink my coffee.” You said. “Just because he’s my friend doesn’t mean he can’t be yours.” Chan scoffed.
“He’s made it very clear he wants to be more than friends with you.” He said.
“I’ve made it clear that I don’t.” You retorted. Chan’s gaze never found yours throughout the entire conversation. “You-” You stuttered. “You don’t get to be mad at me.” You said. This time, he looked at you.
“I’m not mad at you.”
“You also don’t get to dictate who I spend my time with. Treating Junseok like crap isn’t going to help you.”
“I’m-” He said. “I’m not trying to.” He let out an exasperated sigh. “Is now a good time for you to let me explain?” He asked. You shook your head.
“You admitted to kissing someone after you told me you wouldn’t do anything like that with other people. I don’t want to hear it. No explanation is going to help you.” You said. He frowned and nodded.
“I’ll try again later.”
Most of the next twenty minutes were spent with the occasional customer coming in, the sound of the coffee grinder going off every few minutes, and the smell of mixed colognes and perfumes irritating your senses. You began get up after your umpteenth cup of coffee, but stopped.
“Chan?” You said. He perked up and looked in your direction. “I’ll let you try to explain.” You couldn’t leave what both of you had without at least letting him try to explain the situation. He smiled weakly and nodded.
“I had gone back to the party after bringing you home, mostly to hang out with Junseok.” He began. “We were messing around, watching all of the drunk people being idiots. One of them came up to me - I don’t even know her name - and just laid one on me. Apparently, they were playing some hybrid of spin the bottle and truth or dare, and she was dared to kiss someone in the room.” He looked at you and frowned. “That person was me. I pushed her away the second it happened, I swear.” He said. You looked at him, contemplating how to feel.
If he was telling the truth, then it’s more than likely that Seoyeon used the incident to split you two up. If he’s lying, which people aren’t unknown to do, then you’d just be falling into the arms of a playboy. You hummed, and nodded.
“Thanks for telling me, but I need to just think about it for a while.” You said. Chan nodded in understanding.
“Take all the time you need.” He said. “In the meantime, I’ll try to find a way to prove it.” He paused. “Why didn’t Junseok tell you?” He asked.
“I never told him about it.” You admitted. Chan raised a brow.
“I thought for sure that you would have told him.”
“It’s not my place to tell everyone about things that happen between us.” You explained. “Even if I’m hurting.” Chan’s gaze softened.
“I get it.” He said. “Will I see you tomorrow?” He asked.
“I don’t know.” You told him. He looked at his hands and grabbed a wet mug.
“Alright.” He said.

My very own little poser!
Hello to all you lovely people and welcome to my first monthly update. I know, I know… I’m a teenie bit late to the party on this one; being a four-month old blog. However; as I am really enjoying myself, I figured that it was high time that I started to set myself some monthly challenges. Don’t fret guys, it’s nothing too exciting. I haven’t suddenly gotten an overwhelming urge to sky dive or walk a tight rope across the English Channel, instead I am keeping to simple goals that surround my blog and my own little family. I have always been more of a good cup of coffee (with two kids all I can say is thank God for its existence) and a tantalising book kind of girl but I guess we shall see what the future holds… Probably more coffee, despite my best intentions.
Why am I posting these challenges up on my delightful (if I do say so myself) blog you ask? To answer that honestly I should start by admitting that I have very little confidence and have a tendency to give up at the first hurdle. Add that to my arsehole internal voices that just luuuuuuve to tell me how rubbish I am at everything and you have a recipe for not getting a whole lot done. So in short; by telling you guys what I plan on doing I am giving myself the motivation to get my lazy arse in gear and get things done. In theory. Especially when you consider that I have just returned to the day job after nine months off on maternity leave. What an amazing time its been and yes, I do in fact know how lucky I am to have had the opportunity to spend all of that time with my girls. Very lucky indeed.
My eventual aim is to turn this blog into my main source of income, facilitating my dream of staying home with my daughters as a full-time mummy. I miss them way too much while I work. It’s like leaving a piece of my heart at home and I have an overwheming fear of missing out on all of their milestones and cute moments. It all goes so fast! I am also quite disabled; as in three times over. Epilepsy, dyspraxia and shortened tendons with a fantastic mix of mental health issues to add some much ‘needed’ complications to the mix. Eventually I will probably reach a point where I will be unable to work anymore and I feel that it is wise to have a back up plan of action.
With that in mind, I have a very cheeky request. If you are going to buy anything from Amazon UK then please follow this link (I know it’s to one of my favourite books) and then search for your item. It will give me a few pennies of commission, regardless of what you buy, at no additional cost to yourself. This will move me closer to my dream of being a mum boss and staying home with my girls, without the addition of irritating adverts, which I’m hoping to keep at bay for as long as possible! Thank you, it means a lot to me.
What I’ve been up to this month:
Incy wincy spider.
A rainbow cake!
I have been sorting out a cake recipe for Autistic Rainbow Magazine. Their first issue will be available from the 10th September and can be downloaded from their website and you can also find them on Twitter. I will also be releasing the recipe on my blog at the start at October, just in time for Halloween!  Super exciting times guys and it also means that I get to help to support those family’s that are affected by autism. A wonderful cause and a perfect excuse to bake a colourful and very over the top cake. How could I have possibly resisted…. My waist line was a little less thrilled than my taste buds but as I’ve been mostly avoiding sugar it soon forgave me. Kind of….
I have also started doing reviews and have a crochet series being worked on in the background. This is proving to be slightly trickier than anticipated because of the toddler and cat taking it in turns to pinch my yarn… Le sigh! There is also going to be a video on YouTube to match each post. The problem with that being; I suck at talking while trying to crochet, most of the outtakes are me giggling or getting myself confused (partly epilepsy and partly the fact that I’m a grade A numpty) . Oh well…. At least the written and photographic side of that misadventure is coming along nicely. Watch this space —–> [            ]
My epilepsy has been giving me plenty of problems. Thanks brain. Its antics have ranged from chucking a glass halfway across a room in a crowded restaurant (still feeling the embarrassment now) to making me collapse and perform my super cool epileptic dance moves in random and inconvenient places. Hey everyday is a party when your brain decides to go into full-blown disco mode! Due to the headaches and other glorious side effects from this wonderous display of arsehattery, I’ve not really been functional enough to have a lot of screen time and my poor blog has felt the effect. Hence most of my posts being easy and relatively lazy recipes or quick chats about easy subjects. Hopefully I will be back to my normal self this month and you will have the exciting and lengthy posts you deserve. Fingers crossed!

My aims for the next month:
Blog:
Write at least two blog posts a week, ideally three. One recipe and maybe two miscellaneous; that will probably be parenting/ crafting/ review related.
Finish at least two more crochet tutorials, including video. I won’t be posting them up until I have at least ten ready then it will be a weekly event, posted on a Sunday for your viewing pleasure. Ready yourself for the broad Northern English accent.
Set up my YouTube account and make it look both pretty and functional. Only one video on there so far….
One crochet pattern typed up and posted with photos. I have an idea for a lacy scarf. We shall see if it pans out the way that I hope it will.
Hit 300 followers on my Facebook page.
Spend at least 10 hours a week creating content and write at least 500 words a day.
Get an honest update and new set of aims ready for the first of October.
Real life
Finally start learning how to draw.
Spend more time playing with the girls.
Try and prevent days of low mood. This will perhaps be my most difficult task but hopefully I can at least inject some positivity.
Read at least one book a fortnight.
Give up caffeinated coffee. Tea can stay for now.
Cut right back on the sugar and eat less junk food. Pizza I’m looking at you (while drooling).
Find a better work/ blog/ family balance which benefits myself, my daughters and my partner. I love them so much!
Talk more openly about my emotions.
Tell myself five things that make me great every morning and another five that make me so very lucky.
I will keep you all posted on how I get on. Here’s hoping for a fantastic and productive month.
If you enjoyed this post then please consider following me on Facebook and  Twitter. I would also LOVE it if you would sign up to my blog’s email list. Thank you all so much for reading!

Genre: Fluff // Romance

Preamble: You’ve been going to the same coffee shop for the past four years. You’ve ordered the same thing almost every single day, and you never, ever skip on that part of your morning. So, when Mrs. Park hired a new barista and the once serene café was suddenly flooded with people every second of the day, you were less than thrilled.
Tumblr media
As you both left, Junseok told you that Seoyeon would probably be at the gym for the next two hours. She had been trying to convince him to bring Chan over. After saying your goodbyes, you and Chan piled yourselves into his car.
“I know that it isn’t a necessity, but I’ve really missed my phone.” You said, laughing. He subtly rolled his eyes.
“Kids these days...” He said.
“We are in the same generation!” You playfully yelled. He giggled, turning his key. The car roared to life, and he wasted no time in pulling out of the café’s parking lot.
“So, how are we thinking of going about this?” He asked.
“Just walk up to her and ask for the phone back?” You answered hesitantly. He glanced at you and chuckled.
“Yeah, that’ll definitely work.” He said. You watched the road, sifting through your options.
“Do we have a way to prove it?” You asked. Chan sat in thought before nodding.
“If you give me your number, I’ll call it.” He said. “I’m sure it’s still on. With any luck, it’s with her.” He added. You smiled nervously. You were never one to outwardly confront someone about something like this in public, preferring to remain passive and avoid fights.
“Is this just your way of getting my number?” You asked. He laughed.
“If I can kiss you in the back of a café and not be allowed to have your number, I’d be genuinely surprised.” He retorted. You smiled at him.
“Yes, you can have my number, you dork.” You said. Chan pulled up at the curb of the gym, looking at you with his phone open to the phoning application. You recited your number, watching as he dialed. You heard ringing, but no answer.
“At least we know it’s on.” He said. “Let’s go, love.” You blushed at the nickname, which was funny, because he called you a few other pet names earlier and you didn’t have any form of reaction. Maybe it’s because you know you’re both an ‘item’ now?
Before you could manage to, Chan had moved to your side of the car, opening the door for you. Once you stepped out, you felt his hand catch yours. He stopped you for a moment to intertwine your fingers, smiling. With that, you were off.
The gym was definitely for the higher class portion of society. When you walked in, it became very apparent. You noted the high ceilings and intricate lighting. From the outside, you knew the building was huge, but it felt even larger once you entered. You felt Chan lightly tug your arm to bring you to the concierge who was manning the front desk.
“Oh, hey there, Chan!” The boy said. He seemed to be in his late teens, and very familiar with the Aussie. You were surprised to see that he wasn’t Asian. You had gotten so used to the trademark features of people from Korea that when you saw a foreigner, it threw you for a loop.
“Hey, mate. Can I visit someone really quickly?” He asked. The boy nodded and handed him a visitor’s pass.
“One for your friend, too?” He asked. Chan nodded.
“Of course.”
The boy handed you a visitor’s pass, which was a clip nametag on a lanyard. Once you put it on, you smiled.
“Thank you.” The boy nodded and waved.
“I’ll see you later, bro.” He said to Chan. Chan grinned and waved as well.
“See you!”
You followed Chan as he expertly navigated the building.
“Do you have a second job that I don’t know about?” You asked. Chan stopped and raised a brow at you inquisitively.
“No..?” He said. “Why do you ask?”
“You walk around like you’ve been coming here for a while, and this place is definitely not your average gym.” You said. He laughed.
“I’m sure you noticed my friend at the counter. I was acting as his personal trainer for a few months. He wanted to learn how to use the kind of equipment that they have here. I already knew from the gym that I go to, so... Yeah.” He said. You laughed.
“I’m not grilling you. I was just curious.” You said, grabbing his hand. “Let’s go.” He grinned, continuing the journey to find Seoyeon. He stopped at a door near the end of a hallway somewhere in the building. ‘Somewhere,’ because you don’t actually know where in the gym you are. He released your hand, opening the door.
Seoyeon was listening to music through her headphones, running on a treadmill. The rest of the room - which was filled with various types of athletic equipment - was vacant otherwise. You watched as Chan whipped out his phone, calling your number. You could hear the faint sound of your ringtone coming from one of Seoyeon’s bags. She unplugged her ears and walked over to the phone, switching it off.
“So you do have it.” You said. She turned to face you, noticing Chan and immediately standing straighter with a plastic smile.
“Have what?” She asked.
“Her phone. Are you really going to try to deny it?” Chan said. The boy from the front desk walked into the room, standing next to you.
“What’s going on?” He asked.
“We’re resolving an issue. She took my phone.” You said. Both of you had spoken quietly to avoid interrupting the conversation.
“I don’t have her phone.” Seoyeon said, placing her hands on her hips. Chan grimaced.
“Well, I have her number. I just called it, and it rang from your bags. Explain that.” He said. Her smile faltered for only a moment.
“Coincidence.”
“If it was a coincidence, then I guess if I call it again, we won’t hear another phone ringing from your stuff?” Chan asked. Seoyeon remained silent. He dialed your number, raising a brow when the resounding ringtone echoed in the room.
“Gym members can be subject to unscheduled bag checks if the attending employee wdeems it necessary.” The boy next to you said. It was obvious he took the quote right out of the rule book.
“You can’t look at my stuff!” Seoyeon yelled.
“Yes, I can - and I will.” He made his way across the room to the bench where her belongings laid, sifting through until he found a cell phone. Even from the distance, you were sure it was yours. “Ma’am?” He asked. You nodded.
“It’s mine.” You confirmed. Chan rang your number once more for the extra bit of proof. Seoyeon’s face was mortified when it rang in the boy’s hand. He walked over and handed you your phone, to which you thanked him. Chan placed his arm around you, and the boy made an audible ‘oh’ sound.
“So, you’re the girl he was telling me about last week?” He asked. “I’m Sam.”
“I’m Y/n.” You replied, shaking his hand. He smiled.
“It’s very nice to meet you.” He turned to Seoyeon. “This incident is going on your record. This is your second strike.” He said. Seoyeon’s face puffed when she pouted at him.
“But Sammy~!” She whined. He held up his hand.
“Nope.” He turned to you and Chan, who were both giggling at his blatant little ‘nope.’ “I hope I’ll get to know you better in the future. In the meantime, I’ll be teasing Channie here for a while.” Chan visibly grimaced, squeezing your shoulder. You chuckled at the two boys and their comments. Seoyeon pushed through the three of you with her bags to exit the gym, stomping loudly with every step. Sam rolled his eyes.
“I think we’ll be off. Thanks for everything, bro.” Chan said to Sam. They said their goodbyes, and you and Chan exited the room. Once you made it to the front doors of the gym, you stopped him.
“Thank you, Channie.” You said. He grasped both of your hands in his, smiling at you.
“Don’t thank me. I’ll be blowing up your phone for days.” He said. You laughed, moving closer. You gave him a soft hug, to which he reciprocated with a firm squeeze. “You know, at some point, I’ll take you on a successful date.” He said.
“I have time now.” You replied. His face lit up with a smile as he jumped around in his spot.
“Coffee time!” He said. You threw your fists into the air enthusiastically.
“Coffee time!”
