here, have this cryptic excerpt from chapter four of my tlt bre fic

“So, it does check out?” Gideon asks, despite the fact that none of them are paying her any attention anymore. She watches them work it through for a minute, Harrowhark stabbing the inside of her cheek for blood to write with, Camilla and Palamedes discussing it through half-formed sentences and eyebrows, and then she gets tired of being ignored and says, “I told you that you wouldn’t like it.”

[rifles thru my tlt bre fic docs for an excerpt that won't give away too much] okay, here we go.

It seems that everyone in the room, bar the Eighth, the Sixth, and herself, have seen Gideon fight, so there’s not much of a fuss made about her – or at least not a very loud one. Everyone is far too busy watching with bated breath to truly react — or so Harrow gleans from the briefest glance around at the assembly of House delegates. Camilla, she notes with unbecoming and misplaced smugness, looks suitably impressed; her left eyebrow is raised by half an inch on her otherwise impassive face.
