everyone always loses their mind over "we dug coal together" "that's right", and rightfully so, but can i please hear some noise for "I know you have never believed a word that has come out of my mouth, though I have harbored the secret hope that you have nevertheless enjoyed hearing them"
trying not to talk too much abt the bear s2 but im Really fuckin frustrated that even with everyone demanding that they’re sooo media literate and sooo smart that no one has talked about claire and the way she sparks audience discomfort. like, she feels out of place within the show because CARMY cannot accept that he is getting this good thing—she feels out of place in HIS life. she’s actually crafted to be the ideal girlfriend, with glowy bokeh lighting in a grocery store and beauty shot close ups and a sweet instrumental leitmotif to show to you, an audience member, that she’s too good to be true in carmys eyes. if you’re an audience member, she raises alarm bells in YOUR head because she raises alarm bells in HIS. he literally tells us that—that’s the crux of his final monologue, that he doesn’t believe he can have the life of food and wines best chef and a life of love and human connection. he doesn’t believe he’s deserving of good things because his family has always been so fucked, because nothing he’s ever tried to hold together has held together—except for his cooking. it’s done this way on purpose, to make you feel that anxiety that he feels around this relationship, and to make you question why you feel it too
I hc it takes some time until Dusknoir feels comfortable with this new life. Just relaxing, going on adventures, being loved. You know, even a blue sky seems gray when your head is a mess.
realizing i have. a lot of untapped trauma potential for clone^2 danny because i just Fully Processed Four Months Late the fact that his parents were capturing and torturing ghosts in the basement before he became Phantom. and the fact that he was on house rest for 2 weeks. during that time period. and he wasn't really leaving the house. he could hear their screaming through the floorboards
*points at clone danny* i can give you suuuuuuch a bad time babe ahaha. i've got two untouched years before you meet damian what fucks you up before then
still stuck on porjai, visibly pregnant, flirting with night
who fucking goes for it
i only know the asian culture i grew up in, obviously, and not thai culture. but the social stigma of being unmarried and pregnant? and having the nerve to still be flirting?? that's not the Good Girl thing to do, and i remember the way the Not Good Girls were treated and talked about where i grew up
so porjai actively trying to get dates? night finding out she's pregnant with her ex's kid and just. being fine with that? big deal to me
Also it's so so so fucking funny that nobody's getting Astarion's face right. Like not even Larian got his face right on the cover. He really is just a handsome little guy who looks ever so slightly fucked up in subtle ways that are so hard to get right without either a) making him look entirely fucked up and losing the pretty/elegance, or b) making him look like some other hot guy who is very much not him.
dream told me—, i actually asked dream—, dream said that—, i told dream that—, dream helped me with—, me and dream were surprised—, my association with dream—
genuinely fucking embarrassing for aaron kuder as well as everyone who looked over the art and approved it to have continuously drawn the incorrect cane for matt. like honestly shameful as an artist. you couldn't do your basic research task on a white cane? to ensure you were drawing the correct aid for matt to use? it's further embarrassing when in issues four and five matt does have one because germán peralta and farid karami, you know, did their basic job as artists of making sure matt had the correct cane. if nothing else look at any comic from recent time and you would know matt has a white cane. this isn't the 1960s. this is not difficult. this is highly shameful on kuder's end and im not going to be nice and just say it's disappointing. i find it correct to call it embarrassing and frustrating. it is your basic task as an artist to research your references for character props. if you can make sure your cars and apartment buildings and costumes are correct you can take five seconds to make sure this is correct too. if you can draw matt's billy club correct you can draw this correct too. there is no excuse.
i think we can collectively agree that Glen has moved out of “boy toy college frat man” romcom genre and into “single grumpy dad with a young gf who gives him gray hairs” romcom genre
You working at the bookstore just trying to have a quiet one, do your job, get paid and get out. But these two fuckers are having the realest fake date you’ve ever seen. All over your goddam books.
