Prince Sombra

Pre-corruption — Stallion | Bisexual | Ex-alicorn

Sombra is a muscular yet elegant stallion. His face is a firm balance between gentle and sharp, with a gradual curve of his nose, intense emerald eyes, and keen ears. He holds his head high and proud with a strong neck. His movements are rather collected and graceful, similar to a friesian horse. Centered at his forehead is a rather curious arched red horn with a faint irregular tessellated design of reds and oranges, similar to the faces of a crystal. Unlike a unicorn’s typical arcane aura, which encases the entire horn in a transparent hue, Sombra’s aura coils around his horn like a snake — or a vine.

Featured on his back is a set of powerful gray feathered wings. The tips of his wings are a brilliant royal red set on a calm chalk white. When spread out, faint stars - like those decorating his neck - generously freckle his inner wings.

Pre-corruption:

Prior to Sombra’s corruption, Sombra was level headed, collected, and gentle even under brutal circumstances. Stress was not much of an issue for him. Additionally, Sombra wasn’t much of a conversationalist. Instead, Sombra preferred to blend in amongst the shadows and observe from afar. In many ways, he still holds onto this personality trait of his now all these years later. Still, his aura was gentle and kind despite his distance.

He worked closely alongside Luna as their royal duties often blended or overlapped one another. Sombra was tasked with managing nightmares, controlling malevolent creatures, and controlling darkness/shadows to ease the workload off of Luna’s shoulders. Due to Sombra’s calm demeanor, Sombra was often heavily praised by Celestia due to his ability to keep himself aligned. Luna only grew to resent him more and more.
