Sometimes I still can’t believe my baldheaded dreams are a reality; I really don’t have to do my hair 🥲 Yeah, I know that does not match this picture but so what 🤣 I suppose I should say I’m also grateful for having a partner who’s not only supportive of my appearances—there are plenty—he also finds me attractive in each one. low cut is his favorite 😉 Anyway! Shoutout to everyone living comfortably in your own skin! That is not easy to accomplish and I hope you’re using your newfound or been-had-it self love to encourage others on their journeys to do the same. I heard you were looking for me ✨👽 Has anyone else been seeing fall trends roll into town in the fashion of blazers and the color green? Well I had to whip out this sequin blazer my homie @kinkycoilymuah gifted me to show out a little bit. It’s been one year since I started sharing my outfits online and I have learned so much about trends, cost, fast fashion and how all of that ties into my style. First of all, I am a MAJOR outfit repeater; it’s only sensible to wear what I paid for over and over again—that’s right, nobody is footing my fashion bill YET 😉 Tag who you’d like to see me model for! I appreciate that choosing quality pieces that I can afford and wearing them repeatedly teaches me how to make casual clothes look professional and more formal clothes suitable for Walmart. Let’s be clear, though, I’m going to wear whatever I want wherever I’m going 🤣 so if you see me in a pretty dress with some slides on, mind ya business! I’ve also learned to appreciate that it’s 100% okay that I have a budget because Quality is Subjective! Household and High-End brands are meant to be better quality but if that kind quality, whatever it is, doesn’t suit my needs as a consumer it’s pointless to invest if I’m not going to love it! Although I would be glad to try some name brand pieces and work with companies who know how do a girl right in all black 👽 I’m looking forward to my next year of all black fashion and who knows, maybe I’ll throw some splashes of color in there ✨🛸 #styleinspo #styleblogger #fallfashion #blackwomen #blackbeauty #dallas https://www.instagram.com/p/CV2-xpvJQFs/?utm_medium=tumblr

I woke up this morning pleased to find my face bathing in sunlight. Yes, I slept on the most comfortable reclining sofa (do people still use that word?) and no, I have yet to actually get up.
My husband, Damion, served me a croissant like pastry with fruit in the center—I think it was a Danish with no cream cheese—while his service dog and my emotional support chihuahua lay comfortably on either side of my now useless legs.
We are all still considerably hesitant to leave home because of the tragedy called weather in the last week. So I’m watching realtors from the west coast remind me how outstanding the cost of living is everywhere that’s not Texas.
How’s your Pandemic Sunday going? Funny how such a dramatic word has been reduced to everyday life language.

Untitled #1
I want to say that it has been four days since we received a weather warning declaring we should all prepare and take shelter. Where I am from these things aren’t taken too seriously because our weather has ‘a mind of its own’. I know that will never make where I live too terribly significant from other parts of the world, I’m just hopeful it paints a good picture of what we’re feeling like down here by the gulf.
In an effort to not sound like every other weatherman, I want to share more intimate aspects of what it is like to be in my shoes. Firstly, I am a young black woman, parent only to one dog and a cat and also a newlywed--that is if four months still makes us newly wed. We live in a decent sized studio apartment that is kind of in the center of a neighborly part of the city. So it is fairly quiet and there usually aren’t any real issues.
When the snow fell I stayed home from work, per the husband’s request, and I had spent the previous day sliding my way across town for a video shoot. It wasn’t bad, by the time I got to the wealthier side of the highway there was enough sand on the roads for people to actually speed past me. While at home, though, I realized that not only have we all been quarantined for practically one year, we are also now trapped in one more climate that means no-one anything but harm. Even looking outside of the window now I feel a sadness that might be dramatized by the music I’m listening to.
So what? We got snow, what is the big deal about that? Everyone knows that people in my state can barely drive in rain, let alone on ice or god forbid through snow--which we haven’t had layers of in about ten years. The big deal is that it feels suffocating. Even with all of the love, hugs and ‘it will be okay’s the inability to leave, eat, sleep or have access to water has been stripped away and we have no control over any of it.
Three days ago I figured I would get a couple of days off of work and maybe the guys in charge would lay some salt on the ground so those of us who have to leave home may get back to work. Instead, I’m at home hesitant about starting lunch or dinner because we may lose power. I’m considering when we’ll be able to wash dishes and bathe again and I’m hoping that so much togetherness isn’t putting a strain on my most precious relationship.
It is said that absence makes the heart grow fonder. Then what can be said of love encapsulated; no absence, no distance? To put it simply, it is very easy for communication to be misunderstood, poorly shared and for feelings to get hurt. All I keep thinking is be sure to not allow these circumstances to affect our perspectives in love.

I love you so much
It makes me sane
Thinking before every action
Choosing to be here
Instead of removing what’s left of myself
And I wonder
How could you ever question your value
The Significance is what you are to me
It’s not humility when you doubt yourself
Because, somehow
You’ve lost touch of our love’s reality itself

Do you think about me?
Truth is,
I want to come to mind;
Even when I cry.
