Into, Across and Beyond! Cast: The Funkin' Crew

Origin: Friday Night Funkin' (most of the group); VS Sky (basis for ErrorSky)

"Benjamin Miku here! Let's get into action!" - Benjamin Miku/Boyfriend

"Aww, yeah! That's how you do it!" - Grace Dearest/Girlfriend

"I already lost one iteration of my best friends, and I'm not going to let another meet that same fate." - Pico N. Grounds

"It makes no sense for me to be held by the shackles of my past. I have friends who need me in the present AND the future!" - ErrorSky

The gang from Philadelphia; an aspiring music artist, a daughter to a demon family, a ginger-haired bounty hunter, and a fangirl of the formermost. Each of them have had their major points in history, and here in IAB! is no different. However, these aren't entirely the same Boyfriend, Girlfriend, Pico and Sky fans have grown to appreciate over the years. This story focuses on an entirely new group.

The important point that kickstarted their new story was the events of Mario's Madness, which led to the deaths of Boyfriend and Girlfriend at the hands of Ultra M, and Pico being stuck wandering in the haunted cartridge until he came across some strange being that reset the ENTIRE FNF universe and created a new iteration; Dimension FNF-NEW-2023.

Right away, there are some changes; the counterparts of Boyfriend and Girlfriend are vastly different, being dubbed "Benjamin" and "Grace" respectively, and it's through this that gives Pico a new connection to them. He just wanted them to be together in this timeline, too, and cared very much about their wellbeing. Granted, Benjamin did date Pico for a bit during high school, though they broke up for Ben's safety after the school shooting.

Speaking of that attack, Pico had remembered meeting his counterpart from Dimension DS-2022, and took a hint from him; he went straight for Cassandra to ensure lives could be saved from the shooting, and thanks to that, Pico had less of an interest in professional work than he once did. As it happened, he was the only one whose memories remained intact after the big reset.

In this universe, quite a bit had changed. Benjamin and Grace were both instead high-school students, and though Benjamin lacked the very high levels of bravery his original self did, he's still done his best to tackle the challenges laid before him. He's also more careful around asking people to sing with him, and holds off if that person isn't in the mood for it.

Benjamin and Grace's families were also bigger in this new universe. Taking a page from MizanPloz's Genderswaps mod and other mods, their families include parents (fresh ones in Ben's case), siblings (including their younger "genderswap" counterparts, Kaity and Chris) and cousins. And the two even made new friends out of those they had singing matches with, which Pico really enjoyed seeing.

As for ErrorSky, she ended up coming into the new universe as an accidental anomaly, and found herself admiring Benjamin like most iterations of Sky would admire their Boyfriends. Predictably, it backfired in her face, but she came out of it not wanting to intrude on Benjamin's love life. Unfortunately, she became a prime target for the monster known as Toxinfect, but with help from one of the other victims of his wrath, she overcame the monster and guaranteed her escape, even reconciling with Benjamin and Grace afterwards.

During that same time, the Corruption struck Philly, courtesy of the Lemon Demon, though it lasted two weeks in total, and unfortunately for the Monster, it grew in sentience and soon betrayed him. Thankfully, Benjamin, Grace, Pico and their companions were all able to fight off the virus and get rid of it. And better still, they got on Daniel Dearest's good side permanently thanks to this. If Agent Blueballs' foothold on canon events were to apply here from Funkinverse, then the Corruption is their shared canon event.

After both these events, ErrorSky became besties with Benjamin and Grace, preferring to remain at a friend level to make up for her prior advances, though has been blushy in Grace's presence as well as Benjamin's. It's sometime after that the blasted cartridge incident came back, this time in the form of a disc with Mario AND Sonic horrors within. This time, they avoided death, freed SHM from the confines (who was Victim #1, or "Madeline") and overpowered Xenophanes, who was the REAL mastermind behind it.

Once that was all said and done, the four discovered the path into the Errorverse via an interdimensional portal. Thanks to going through it, they ended out aging down into teens, like Nitro and his siblings before them. Thanks to this, they ended up becoming more involved in the quests of those in this dimension; helping free the Literature Club girls from their game for good, Benjamin giving a kid dubbed "AE M." companionship (and leading to them becoming boyfriends), fighting off evil corporate businessmen and sentient viruses, and further expanding Benjamin's music scene overall.

Speaking of that, the influence of Funkin' culture has happened to be part of the multiverse's music scene, even if it's not to everyone's tastes. And it just so happens that it seems to be popular in Dimension MP-2021, especially with OMT!Tails. It's to the point where, when CR!Sonic told him to keep calm about the wall-clinging in One More Hero, he did some of the beatboxing from "Fresh" to keep him steady. Of his composed songs, of course, Benjamin isn't too proud about "Really Happy" from Sunday Night, considering its nature and the awful screen-shake effect it caused.

This later leads into More than One Universe, the point where Benjamin and his crew are brought into the events via the Errorverse link. Through this, they each lent a hand in apprehending the villains that had leaked through into the OMT universe. During this time, however, Benjamin almost fell victim to demonic possession from the Puhoi curse, with three outcomes; him escaping solo with Soul BF, him losing and branching into becoming Bently, and, in the case of the scenario post-EV-rewrite, Nitro interfering before it can hold for long.

After the end of it, Benjamin was happy to sign an autograph for OMT!Tails, since the kid was a pretty big fanboy of him, and EV!Sonic saw quite the potential in him, since Benjamin was an angel in this shared universe. The following day was when Pico finally came clean to Benjamin about the timeline reset, which he took pretty well, all-in-all. And that Christmas, he met Soft Benjamin (a younger incarnation) for the first time, he, the Mikus and Dearests gave the Fairests their karma and prompt arrest, and he decided to adopt Softie into his family, which the kid was really happy about. It's through Softie that he got to meet his other counterparts from other universes (like Neo, B3, Minus, B-Sides, D-Sides and Arrow Funk).

Amongst other things, he has also been taking good care of Evan from FNF: Childhood Memories, and helps babysit him each Sunday in his free time, the time they spend together reigniting some of Benjamin's childhood memories. Since Evan and Holly obviously aren't suited for combat, it's why neither actually appear in the base stories, as I've planned to instead feature them in more casual slice-of-life storylines to tie in to the mod while work on it continues.

Sometime after this was when The X struck during one of Salty's crusades, and the attack left Sunday, roommate of Carol and good friend of Ben and Grace, with protanopia, meaning they can't see red anymore. When Cam (Agent Blueballs) tried to recruit Benjamin into the Funkin' Society using Kenji as association, this backfired massively, and due to Benjamin's well-respected position amongst the Boyfriends, this quickly earned Cam even MORE ire amongst counterparts across the multiverse), including from the original Soft Pico.

After The X was successfully detained by the Quill Society, which took more work than you'd think despite him being weaker by the events of IAB!, EV!Sonic approached Benjamin for a potential place in the Quill Society, which he accepted, though was confused about.

As EV!Sonic explained later, Benjamin was offered this place due to a mix of him being an angel, him sporting the ECHO ability to keep pace with hostile villains, and indirectly hailing from a SEGA property thanks to his ties with Hatsune Miku. These were enough to give Benjamin his position in the group, and he was able to increase his connections through it. ErrorSky also joined in, having built her own community with other Skys. That said, she dislikes Miko a LOT, due to her being an internet jerk.

As for Pico, his quest to ensure a better future for his friends paid off, and he could get his closure for the original BF and GF in that their legacy would live on through his newer friends and their families.

To count any canon events each of the crew have gone through (relative to Blueballs' way of thinking in the Funkin' Society):

Benjamin:

He had dropped out of high school, though not immediately, only after the Corruption was gone to ensure it couldn't hurt any of his classmates.

Benjamin has three companions supporting him together; Grace, Pico and ErrorSky. The latter two are not committed relationships, which isn't a requirement.

The bad song Benjamin composed was "Really Happy", and he's actively not proud of it.

Benjamin has fought off the Corruption when it struck his world, and has never encountered or been claimed by any denizens of the Darkness.

Grace:

Like Benjamin, she only dropped out of high school in the aftermath of the Corruption.

Grace has Benjamin as her main supporting companion.

She encountered the Corruption much like her friends, though was never claimed by the Darkness.

Pico:

Pico dropped out of high school in the aftermath of the shooting incident, like his original self did, and moved to mercenary work. However, in the new timeline, it's only undercover work to get Daniel Dearest back on a good side.

Pico's supporting companions, as usual, are Nene and Darnell, though he's yet to make things click romantically with either.

Pico, as per his canon event, took a stand against the Corruption first-hand and aided in eradicating it after being freed. He also had to fight off one Darkness infectee and came out no worse for wear.

He lost the original Boyfriend and Girlfriend in his canon event.

ErrorSky:

As per tradition for Sky variants, ErrorSky had crushed on Benjamin in the past, though saw what she was doing was wrong.

Her parents died through her canon event, courtesy of Toxinfect.

Benjamin's top-selling songs:

A cover of Vocaloid song "Idol", deviating from his usual beep-boop singing act.

"Serendipity" from Vs. Radi and Lofie (ft. Lofie)

"The Division - Destruction of Boyfriend" (cover of his own sister's song; ft. Softie)

And as for a little extra trivia related to the bunch:

ErrorSky actively dislikes Miko and has gone to great lengths to vandalise her twisted social media acts for the sakes of others. She's also actively at odds with Faker Sky, those two being the ONLY Skies she hates.

Pico had been twice-shy around Nene, having once kissed her cheek to cheer her up, but feeling extremely embarrassed about it afterwards.

My FNF AU's

Because a total of one person asked, I'm gonna yap about some AU's I have because I want to :3

Starting with the most recent (And least serious): The FNF Magical Girl AU I made yesterday in the middle of the night!

The name is self explanatory, FNF but magical girls.

Why? Because why not?

Anyways, in this world, everyone has this thing called Passion. It's basically their drive to create something. Without Passion, the person no longer feels motivated to do what they love and basically becomes depressed and "lazy"

Now, Dearest is interested in how Passion works, so he decides to take "part" of people's passion to see if he could make the most Passionate being in the world. (He doesn't know of the side-effects when he starts, but he doesn't really care either)

Now, the first version he made, he put different types of Passion into one jar and it just became a confusing mess, so he decided to seperate Passion by their types.

However, the loss of passion as such a high rate also caused creatures called the Unpassionate to be created as well. The Unpassionate will destroy anything related to their lost passion to try and find it again.

The first version became a little creature because what is a Magical Girl story without a little creature.

The little creature runs away from the place without Dearest seeing because plot, and finds the gang.

With some persuasion and absolutely no lies about a prophacy that doesn't exsist... oh... nvm the creature did lie about a prophacy that doesn't exsist :3

Now BF, GF, Pico, Darnell, and Nene are Magical Girls (and Guys) :3

BF's powers are based on song and his weapon is a microphone that also doubles as knun-chucks.

GF's powers are based on dance and her weapon is a speaker that turns into a giant hammer

Pico's powers are based on photography and his weapon is a camera that is a gun.

Darnell's powers are based on fumage (painting with fire) and his weapon is a flamethrower

Nene's weapons are based on scrapbooking and her weapons are giant scissors.

I haven't thought of a group name for them... but i know it'll be better than... *shudders* "The Magical Girl Group" (Long lost Galaxii lore guys, dw about it)

Next AU!: The Dream AU

GF was sheltered all her life, she always desired some escape from her reality. This came in the form of the Dream Realm

Usually, it was just blurs that she could rarely remember, but she finally decided to try lucid dreaming for once. She ends up becoming a Lucid (Someone from the Waking World traveling to the Dream Realm)

She wakes up in the Dream Realm and meets BF, who is a lullaby

BF decides to train GF to also become a lullaby because she asked him to.

Shenanigans ensue; They meet BF's parents. They also meet Skid and Pump (Who are the princes of the Day and Night)

Pico comes to tell GF to go back because the Dream Realm is closed for construction and Lucids can't be there. BF convinces Pico to let GF stay.

More shenanigans: Monster (who is a Nightmare) comes to give GF bad dreams before BF sings him away. GF's parents try and get her to stop with the Dream Realm stuff.

Tankman comes to tell GF to leave because he doesn't want her there. Epic battle commences and GF almost gets forced to wake up and not come back again. However... Monster comes back once again to mess everything up.

More will be added if I get the ideas

I had sot of an idea and I liked it so much that I stayed up till 1 in the morning writing all this down

-Vlads personal assistants Walter Weston and some other chick idk comfort vlad bc he deadass needs friends and love and care hes like a cat that's been left in the streets

-I was also thinking they could be at Walter's house to discuss business or something and maybe vlad let's it slip that it's been 3 days since he's slept and even longer since he's actually relaxed or thought about shit that wasn't completely toxic to him and to the people around them.

• Was also thinking that they've had business chats at his house before so he knows to shoo the kids to either their friends houses or somewhere else

• I was thinking that Walter could maybe be a friend of the Foley's mostly bc I like the idea of Wes and Tucker playing video games together like

• Wes, angrily: "I know your best friend is the ghost boy!"

• Tucker: "Yeah yeah anyways I downloaded some new fnf mods today. Wanna play those then some minecraft?"

• Wes: "Oh word?"

• Kyle could be there too if he wanted but I'd imagine he'd just go to his bf's and get high or something BAHAWHWJEJD

Anyways I just now decided that I'm just gonna call the other assistant Laura just cuz. Idk yeah anyway.

Vlad makes a mistake. He simply apologizes and let's it slip that he's been so busy with work he hasn't had time to take care of himself (Or scheme. That one makes Danny suspicious 🤔). So they immediately pick up on that and become extremely worried for their boss (like yeah obviously he's not a good man (a good business man!) But he's never done anything to hurt them and, in fact, Walter and Laura are the only people who Vlad would even consider close enough to call his "friends". Not that he'd say that out loud though) and they step aside to the kitchen and speak for a moment, Vlad to out of it to pick up on it with his enhanced hearing, and decide that they need to put a stop to this. They were his close personal assistants God damnit! That meant taking care of everything he needed. Meetings? His schedule? If this job included self care, so be it! They were having a movie night right. Now.

Walter goes and grabs the blankets and pillows and sets the on the couch. He then helps Laura put the paperwork away while a very confused Vlad just watches. Walter sticks the popcorn in the microwave and goes to pick out a movie with Laura. (Wlater mostly had superhero movies, what a nerd lol)

Everything happens so fast the very confused Vlad Masters cannot keep up with what was going on and, before he could blink, he's all snuggled up between Walter and Laura his hair being played with by both of them. They decided that what Vlad needed most was sleep and a hug. They were right, though he'd never admit that (This guy's just a big softie huh?). He was just so relaxed, more so than he'd ever been, he thought. He's never experienced anything that's felt this nice, and, well, he purred.

Vlad Masters purred. Walter and Laura loved it because ohmygod he purrs!

Vlad felt like putty in their hands. His core was so happy. He wanted to hold tight of these two and never let them go he wanted to keep them and stay like this forever! It was then he realized that his obsession wasn't what he thought it was. Oh, curse the Ancients he was not ready to go down some road of found family and self discovery! Ugh, whatever, that was a problem for the Vlad that wasn't having the best time of his life right now.

• Side note bc I wanna figure out something about Vlads obsession cuz I remember having an idea and that's why I said that up there ^^^ but I don't remember what it was

• Maybe it was to be happy? Love?

• Like maybe in the hospital all he could think about was how much he missed smiling and laughing and having fun

• And maybe he missed having crushes and dating and he thought about Maddie

• And that's where that whole thing stems from

• And maybe it was also life? He wanted a life?

• And that's why he wanted Danny as his son?

• Like hes in the hospital thinking about how nice it would've been to continue on living, maybe behind a white picket fence with a girl and a family. Maybe Madeline? She was always such a nice girl...

OH ALSO I WAS THINKING Danny could pull up after quite a while like after a few months and like at this point Vlad, Walter, and Laura have been having movie nights more frequently and he's been interacting with people his age in a healthy way so he's obviously been getting better.

So Danny's all "What have you been planning Plasmius ahh agagaga" yknow? And Vlad's like "uhhhhhh....cookies?" And he's like writing down cookie recipes to try because, apparently, he likes baking.

Danny: I don't buy that for a minute

Vlad: uhh yeah um I don't know what to tell you *shrugs*

And this is in his office btw so Wlater comes in and brings him like...coffee or something and he ruffles Danny's hair on his way back out and is like "Hey Danny. Wes, bless his heart, has not been able to stop talking about you, especially since 'you haven't been seen in over a month and could be up to something'." He says with air quotes. "Think you could pay a visit?"

"Oh! And also, Vlad, I left that paper work with Manny so if you need it you know who to ask. See you guys later." And then he walks away.

Other stuff for this I guess:

-Laura dealing with Karen, vlad comes to rescue

-Phantom playing prank on mayor, covering him with ectoplasm or something, and him honest to God laughing about it with Walt and Laura! Not the reaction danny thought he was gonna see

I also forgot to add Walter!!! Making breakfast!!!! For the three of them!!!! Idk if they should be in love or not but idc I love fluff💕💕💕💕💕

-He eventually rebuilds his and Jack's friendship and Maddie can see that he's changed and gotten better

-LAURA AND WALTER MEET VLAD'S CAT(S) OMG PLEASSEEE I WANT VLAD TO TALK ABT HOW MUCH HE ADORES THOSE CREATURES AND LAURA AND WALTER THINK ITS SO SWEET THIS GUYS SUCH A SOFTIE ALL HE NEEDED WAS SOME LOVE <33333

And that's as far as I got I u wanna add stuff or ur input u can but I just ASHDJFBFFJ I just love fluff rn ok bye HWHSBS🖐🖐

Are we still allow to send in numbers between 1-8 for that other post? If so, here's one from me and my roommate! 4 and 8!

I'm only picking one of em, and since number 8 is FNF, I'm gonna go for 4, which is Splatoon (my most undeveloped one asf;hselhkg)

Beat-Z is named Mako, age 21, bigender (she/they), and asexual

There isn't much story with this one, but I still developed it, so I'll share what I remember. Maki is an inkling, and a high ranking tournament player, her best game being Rainmaker. She's usually seen being pretty mellow and very easygoing, but in ranked battles, her competitive side kicks in. Weirdly enough, when playing chill matches, she scores the most points in covering the ground, but is garbage at knocking people out. Players are confused on how well she plays because of her easily distracted attitude and her bangs completely blocking her eyes.

War… Hold up, do we really need a warning for this one? Dunno, but however, watch out for slightly disturbing and kinda…disgusting imagery, trypophobic patterns, as well as ‘necrotic’ designs I made while having funky fever bc o h m y g o d do I get a little crazier every new quarantine day (and at this point it’s coming to be an usual thing for me, big sad). Hooray for plot rewriting

So, remember when I mentioned BF’sH came to be subdivided in 2 -then 3 arcs? Well, allow me to resume them like this:

I. Past present

-BF’s backstory in NG city + how he and GF knew each other, going from ‘neighbours’ to friend, and from friends to downstraight lovers (the Pico related events are also there, but I wrote them down a little differently than canonically stated by either Tom Fulp or Ninjamuffin)

II. Future present

-All the things that happened after FNF’s main events (mods). Some events remain the same; others are put in a different light, and so on. This was also meant to be BF’sH original story plot (y’know, when he comes back to the hood and shit) the one that’d take this arc, but after rewriting the stuff, I moved most of it to the third one instead

III. Hollow present

-Basically the same storyline of BF’sH, but now the Past Present and Future Present mash up protagonist-wise. Plus, BF’s family got kidnapped by the same people that fucked the hood up (Stephano and his gang), and some characters gather self-awareness and paradox deja vú (can’t describe exactly the feeling my brain hurts) referring to the events from OG BF’sH, which some of them were actually ‘corrupted’ or just not happening as they were thought in the start

And BF also finds out he’s not actually…well, the real BF, but an alternative instead (existencial crisis when)

…It’s a lot on this one, and I don’t know if I’ll make it as clear as possible through the sketchdump format, but yeah, shit’s flippin on this side of the fence

Let’s just get this one done with (for now)

1.-Distraught Miss G / Past!GF

The moment you realize the world is falling apart, your closest friend is basically dying and there isn’t much you can do about it

Honestly, I’d be just as upset if I was her in that situation

2.-||Sicken|| Lil B / Past!BF

Pulling some heartstrings right there

Jokes aside, his sickness is mostly a collateral damage done by not only the timelines’ mash, but also the alternative universe’s slow but perceptible inner collapsing

Going under the logic of past-self-future-self: Anything that happens to Lil B (later nicked Minor B) will reflect towards BF (later nicked Major B) and same with GF (later nicked High G) and Miss G (later nicked Low G)

Yesterday was annoying. My ass of a boss decided that the solo employee that works the general merchandise side of the floor by memory would be better suited to work grocery. Leading to two carts of stationary. Because nobody but me does them. In one of the two heaviest times of the year( back to school). God, I hate kids but they'll never know that. I'm just that nice weird lady that tries to look out for their safety. I'm very worried one day a child will walk in front of my cart when I don't see them. Parents need to establish safety rules for parking lots and stores better. Reminds me of the one time a five year old was let loose in my previous job (aquarium store janitorial) and he was looking at the salt water tanks. I told him the foxfaces were my favorite and that he should go find his mom as she was probably worried about him. I went back to work after he left but then I hear everyone scrambling around. I leave the room and then I hear he tried to drink ph correcting liquid and was stopped barely in time. This woman had two kids younger than ten and she lets the five year old loose. * sigh * I'm just glad he's alright but I'm scared something will happen to unsupervised kids. My own opinions should not color my treatment of anyone, much less someone who doesn't know better. Unpredictable loud high pitched ignorant and inconsiderate though they may be. Glad I'm not a mom. But that woman that let her child loose in the aquarium store? She shouldn't be either. Hope he's still doing ok. Perhaps I should request the drawing. It's been a few days, after all. Seam saying "Jevil, I'm not sure if I can handle any more of your tomfuckery." It leads into the music of the day as its Ragdoll Chaos by Seek's cool mod team. Say what you want about fnf but there is love put into a lot of songs made by the modders. Don't look at the comments on youtube, misgendering of Seam lives there.

I guess this is in regards to Forward but Never Forget but maybe also Mal de Mer: Does Silco ever regret meeting Mel or does he realize she serves a purpose in his life maybe one that no one has filled before? Does he recognize how she affects him and does he appreciate it?

His feelings for Mel are, and will always be, deeply ambivalent.

Chiefly because, as we will learn in FnF, the end of their affair triggers a chain of events that must be managed, mitigated and otherwise manhandled, to get the outcome he desires - for Zaun, and for the future.

He wouldn't say she serves a purpose 'no one' has filled before - in his mind that is, and will always be Jinx, and everything she embodies as Zaun's next generation, and in his private life.

He will, however, admit that she's a challenge - an intellectual rival, a sparring partner, a kindred spirit who understands his vision. He's never had anyone like her before (re: purity of purpose rather than pedigree) and the fact that he enjoys her company and finds her intolerably attractive is just the icing on the cake. The two of them do not see eye to eye on everything, but it's a point of pride that he is, for the first time, compelled to re-evaluate his positions and beliefs, and in turn, the direction he intends to steer Zaun.

At the outset, he'd say their affair served a purpose. Down the line, as his relationship with her develops, he'd say his sentiments are an inconvenient side-effect, but that he can navigate his way around them, and make the necessary choices (spoilers: he's full of shit). By the time he 'finalizes' the relationship in the 'Mal de Mer' AU, he rationalizes it by saying that she makes his life more interesting than he'd expected: more exciting, more unpredictable, and in many ways more dangerous.

Silco in FnF is a high-stakes roller at his core - high risk, high reward. But while he knows the odds, and can play them well, the house will always have an edge.

Mel, in all her wealth, beauty and privilege, will always have an edge.

It's not a fact he enjoys thinking about, and which he buries, for the most part, under the weight of his ambitions and the demands of the moment. But it eats away at him, as his feelings for her grow and become less easy to manage. He wants to believe that her affection is real, but there's a voice in his head that won't shut up, telling him that it's too good to be true, and that she'll never be able to commit to his plans for Zaun, or be loyal to him in the way that he needs.

After all, she's a Topsider, and a Medarda, and a woman whose purview and priorities center purely on her own city's enrichment.

.............Also, she's still in love with Jayce.

The result is that he's always either holding back, or setting traps for her, or making contingency plans. His trust for her, and his faith in her, waxes and wanes like the tides. Sometimes he feels as if she awakens a part of him that's been sleeping for so long he's forgotten what it's like to live without its presence. Other times he feels as if he's looking into a mirror, and seeing only his own hungriest, shallowest and basest impulses reflected back at him.

Mel's own traumas and trust issues complicate the equation. She always feels that she has to find her footing in a world where everything she does, says and believes is under threat, and her sense of self is in constant flux. In her mind, Silco is is a dark echo of her mother: someone whose devotion is conditional, who keeps score of every choice she makes, and who will jettison her the moment he stops seeing value in her.

The result is that they're always gaming each other, and it's an exhausting dance to a well-worn tune:

"I can't trust you. Prove that I can."

"How can I trust you when you never tell me the whole story?"

"What if I told you the whole story, and you left me anyway?"

And round and round they go.

Sex is one of the few means they can count on to cut through the noise, and bring them closer together. The physicality and vulnerability of the act tends to drop their guards. The games here, rather than tests of trust, are an actual bridge towards intimacy: he's one of the few men who can evoke an honest, unfiltered response from her, and she's one of the few women who can break open his crooked shell and evoke a peculiar tenderness in him.

It's the closest he comes to being his boyhood self.

It's the closest she comes to being her girlhood self.

Naturally, the aftermath leaves them susceptible to all the doubts and insecurities they're trying to keep at bay. They're most likely to have open and honest conversations in bed, just when they're drifting off to sleep. But they're also the most likely to have full-on screaming matches, when they wake up, because they're struggling to return to their familiar, more easily navigable roles, until the next time their desires overwhelm them.

As Silco puts it, in FnF, the price for Mel's company, and its pleasures, is 'exorbitant.'

He'd pay it a hundred times over, though. Even if he never got a single decent night's sleep again.

They're not soulmates; nor will they ever be. But there are all these threads of their pasts that keep pulling them to one another, so even when they're on opposing sides, they can't help but orbit one another, because their minds are too much alike, and their passions are too entwined, and their mutual influence has altered them both too profoundly for them to ever be indifferent towards each other.

So, to answer your question: no, he does not regret meeting her.

There is very little Silco regrets, period.

As to whether he realizes how she affects him, and does he appreciate it - in his own way, yes. It's why he keeps her close. It's also why he holds her at arm's length, and will not give her his heart, no matter how much she cajoles or demands it from him.

And when he does give it, it will come at the heels of total, absolute surrender from her.

It's a tall order.

But then, as Mel's observed, he's a very demanding man.

Into, Across and Beyond! Locations: FNF-NEW-2023

Benjamin: So, what did you bring me out here for, Pico?

Pico: Well, I know you've been busy with your rehearsals for the upcoming concert, and I can't really blame ya. It's just... It's something important I need to get off my chest. For now, it's just between you and me.

Benjamin: I mean, why isn't Grace allowed to hear it? She'd definitely understand.

Pico: Heh, I know. But right now, I don't want to start any mass chaos erupting because of this news, especially not if her dad learns about it.

Benjamin: What do you mean?

Pico: Well, Ben... I'm from the OLD iteration of this universe.

Benjamin: O-Old iteration? What do you mean?

Pico: It's... a long story. I'll explain it...

WARNING: From this point down, there are unmarked spoilers for Friday Night Funkin': Mario's Madness, ESPECIALLY for its endgame. If you haven't seen or played the mod, please stop reading now to avoid spoilers.

Pico: Remember the whole ordeal the three of us had with that creepy Mario and Xenophanes?

Benjamin: Yeah?

Pico: Well, that was actually meant to be our last conflict, but we managed to escape it alive.

Benjamin: Heh, yeah. We do make a good team.

Pico: However... That haunted cartridge was right at the end of it all for... the ORIGINAL you.

Pico: As "Boyfriend", you were even more brave, albeit with the urge to tackle practically any challenge laid before you if it meant keeping "Girlfriend" safe. All of what happened here was handled differently in the original universe. He fought those trying to kill him, those who just wanted some fun, and even some who... didn't exactly want to be a part of his business.

Pico: And no matter who it was, even if it was Xenophanes throwing tantrums over actually losing, Boyfriend always persevered in the end. That's what I admired about him; he was not outright a fearless fool. What I learned from the Corruption I experienced was that he always looked to the positives, knowing that there's always a brighter day ahead. At least, until THAT day happened.

Pico: Like what happened here, I was drawn into the cartridge business when neither BF or GF returned any calls. It must've felt like days when I came to check on them, only to find the TV blaring red static. Before I could even react, I was dragged into that world, where I had to fend off that "Mr. L" entity posing as Luigi... or apparently, a vengeful spirit of him. Even to this day, I don't know what its motives were, but it clearly wanted me dead for the evulz. I managed to escape safely and got on the hunt to find BF and GF safely. However...

Pico: They were dead when I finally found them... And I was all alone in that digital hellscape with no way back out. I've never forgiven myself for being too late to come to their aid, though I survived as long as I could, busting into the Minus World to try and evade that killer plumber. While there, I came across this entity that resembled... King Koopa? I didn't have long to process this, as everything vanished before my eyes as "Ultra M" approached.

Benjamin: Then what happened?

Pico: I was pretty much reborn into a new universe. THIS one. One key change was the links to the SEGAVerse; you being the younger brother of Hatsune Miku. And you had a bigger family than the "canon" iteration, who simply had a rap-rat as an adoptive brother. Events definitely played out normally, but with numerous changes:

You and Grace dropped out of high-school at 17.

I halted the whole school dangers quickly by dealing with Cassandra promptly, therefore saving even more lives than I once did.

You managed to get Daniel Dearest on your good side after he admitted to his crimes and felt guilty for it.

You've been arguably kinder than the original Boyfriend.

Updike stood down and shut down the Greater Good, thanks to the efforts of you and Whitty, along with Grace, Carol and Sunday, of course.

Benjamin: I had definitely been through a lot.

Pico: Mhm. And when we crossed into Alan Becker's computer, that's when we became teens again, and that's when the things I predicted came to an end. We met Chris and all the others, you got a new boyfriend in Luis, and, well... the rest is history!

Benjamin: Mhm. So, like OMT Tails, I'd be classed as some "anomaly" by those guys because of your actions?

Pico: It shouldn't come to that, hopefully. I'm just really concerned about how you're feeling after what happened to you back in MP-2021, Benji. I really don't want it to take a toll on your life. Same with what I just told you.

Benjamin: Hey, don't worry! I've got an optimistic future ahead! We got the whole Christmas Festival getting set up next week, and Softie's gonna be showing up. Heh, I can't wait to meet him in person. I really want to have him as a little brother and show him the care he deserves!

Pico: Heh, man. I really admire you for staying positive, even after all the hell you've been through.

Benjamin: I mean, I'll always have you guys. And as long as you're all okay, I'll always find motivation to keep on moving!

Pico: Thanks, Ben. I really appreciate that.

Benjamin: Alright. Why don't we go catch up with the others? They must be getting worried.

Pico: Of course!

Benjamin: Man. I wonder if Evan and Holly will be able to show up there.

Pico: Heh. I'm sure they can make the time if Evan's parents are alright with it.

Meanwhile, at Dimension URB-2023...

Bently: I'm happy things are okay in the original dimension. You keep being you, Benjamin. Well, who I once was, heh.

Isabella: You feeling okay, Bently?

Bently: Heh, yeah. If anything, I feel at peace, knowing everything's alright in a version of the universe I came from.

Isabella: Glad to hear it!

Bently: Well, let's get moving to school! We don't wanna keep Mrs. Aoibhe waiting for too much longer.

Isabella: You got it!
