Commission for juicebun on twitter! Specializing in plant-related magic makes a lot of sense for a rabbit, because you can command nearby flora to defend yourself and channel sunlight to bolster your abilities, but you can ALSO just summon a tasty little treat for yourself whenever you want 😋🌸

Meet Hope! Main girl in Defying Certain Death.
In the world of Terrasyor, humans born with innate magic are often called terrans; while anyone can learn to use magic they have an advantage. Hope was born with abnormally strong plant magic, and prior to the events of DCD had a massive farm that provided specialty products that otherwise would only be obtained if shipped overseas.

The thief
Masterlist
Cw: waking up in a cell, reference to past torture, defiant whumpee, creepy/intimate whumper, non con drugging, non con touching, language, restraints, interrogation, bad after effects
The ache under Enver’s ribs was what pulled him from sleep. It felt exactly like that time he’d been stabbed, down to the itchy sutures.
Wait.
There weren’t sutures on his torso earlier. Nor were there any on his shoulders and back…
and this bed is unfamiliar.
This room is unfamiliar. The door was flush to the stone, and.. no handle. Just a solid metal plate screwed in over where a handle should be.
----
Light shined in through a window with two bars, the gaps too small to fit through.
The only furnishings were the single cot, and lush vines that had grown around the room, in from the window. He didn’t see any flowers, but plenty of buds about to bloom.
That floramancer… he remembered running, their flash of a smile, being cornered.. Stars above.. that person trapped in the cave. He’d had roots growing out of him-
No.
Enver had been caught before, thats why he always made sure the guild knew where he was. They’d come for him, and they’d overpower this mage. They always protected their assets.
He just had to wait out this confinement.
The first thing he needed to do was asses his wounds. He couldn’t go along with whatever escape if he was too injured to run or climb.
He checked his side first, where he’d fallen on his knife- stars that’s embarrassing just thinking about it. The stitches were perfect. The last time he’d been stabbed, he’d been dragged to a cell and given haphazard staples over the wound. The ragged scar still ached sometimes. This new wound probably wouldn’t scar at all, if it did it’d be a thin one, barely visible.
Unsure if this was a good sign or not, he moved on to check the deep scratches along his shoulders and back. Those hurt more, the lighter ones stinging while the deeper ones ached nearly as bad as the stab wound.
He felt the same methodical stitches along the deeper cuts, and some kind of gel that made his fingers numb. The fact that he was being treated so well… this should have been reassuring. But that smile. Something about the mage was off putting.
Trying to stand proved difficult. He groaned as his shoulders stretched, and stumbled to his feet. Pacing the room, he tested to feel the extent of the injuries. It hurt, but he’ll probably recover. A few minutes of pacing and he was already bored.
Okay he just needed to stay still and focus. He sat on the cot and closed his eyes, letting the world fade around him. He knew how to pass time. Just go blank, and let everything go by without an impression.
——
“Wakey wakey!” A hand patted Enver’s cheek. He caught their wrist in an instant, baring his teeth at his captor. Without a ribbon, his dark blue hair swept in front of his nose, and he brushed it out of the way.
The amusement never left their eyes. “I have a few questions. Are you going to be difficult?”
“I’m not telling you anything.” He pushed them against the wall, intending to break their wrist. Immediately vines wrapped around his arms, and he was yanked away, falling hard on his back.
“You will, eventually.” Dark purple flowers bloomed around his face, the pollen smelled sharp and bitter. It made him lightheaded, and he thrashed to get out of the hold. They had even wrapped around his horns, a vice holding his head in place.
He struggled against the fog settling in his mind, wreathing everything in a haze.
“Who sent you?” They tilted his chin to look into his eyes.
“The high king of- aah.” he gritted his teeth against the pleasant drug, “the high king of go fuck yourself.”
“This’ll go on for as long as you let it. I have the antidote right here in this vial, talk, and it’s yours.” They sat on the cot, while Enver struggled on the floor. They swirled their fingers in the air, willing more flowers to bloom. The more drug that got in his system, the faster the effects would switch.
Before long he relaxed, eyelashes fluttering to obscure silvery irises. He blinked up at them, a glare crossing his face. The drug was doing its job. Another second and his expression went lax, changing to a content blankness. They loosened the vines at his wrists, allowing him to pull a flower to his nose.
“Who sent you?”
“like I would ever tell you.” He sat up and smirked at them, leaning to stick his chin out as the sentence went on. He could barely keep his eyes open, and was almost laughing.
They smiled back, knowing the next stage of the drug would likely change his mind. A battle of wills, but they had the advantage of not being drugged. Now to wait.
The shift was subtle.
A flicker of uncertainty. A squint of suspicion. His shoulders tensed ever so slightly. Before long he had most of his facilities back, and tried to overpower them again. This time they just stepped out of the way, letting out a small laugh as he fell to the floor.
Seeming to realize that trying to fight was useless, he shot a glare at them. Even with his breathing quickening, he maintained a tense expression, refusing to give in to fear. For a second, he closed his eyes, brow furrowed in pain, before settling back into glaring.
As the effects built up, his facade of anger broke, and he gasped, turning his head away. His sharp teeth were bared in agony, as he held back cries. He shook with the effort of not making pained whimpers.
He couldn’t focus on anything besides not crying, he wouldn’t cry, no matter how bad it got, he wouldn’t cry.
Briar tilted his chin up to see his eyes closed tightly, mouth open in silent cries. He let out a small gasp when they grabbed his hair tightly. They could see the pain etched into his features, just a quarter-hour after the switch had reduced him to near tears.
He was breathing heavy, and he tried to steady his movements, focusing on what he could control to block out the pain.
They wiped a tear from his cheek.
“Awe, hurts doesn’t it?” They ran their fingers up the back of his neck and through his hair, smiling when he pulled away from their touch.
“Antidotes right here. Just tell me who sent you.” They shook the vial in front of his face, pulling it away when he reached up.
“You’ll— agh- have to do- better than this.” Sparks danced at his vision. “I’m not— hnnggg-”
He threw his head back, keening. When the wave passed, he let his hair hang in front of his face, the dark blue locks damp with sweat.
“I’m not sayin- shit.” His voice was hoarse now, and he propped himself up on both hands. He could tell the effects had reached their height already, and now were fading. He took a shaky breath, balancing back on his feet.
They didn’t look upset or frustrated, at his resistance. Only intrigued. The vines took his arms and horns in another hold, and they dabbed a cloth at his hairline.
“Looks like I’m going to have to do better. You wait right here, I think I’ve got something you’ll absolutely love.”
They skipped from the room, locking the door behind them. Enver wasn’t sure how much more he could take. He found himself shaking with sobs.

Something something, I like to think the way the powers may reveal the emotions of a character...
The pyromancer bursting in flames as they hold their anger down...
The cryomancer making all the area increasingly cold for the same reason as the previous...
The psychic inadvertently messing the stuff around... Yeah, for the very same reason 🙃
The speedster speaking fast as they overthink of some subject that makes them highly uneasy, that makes them worried...
The chloromancer/floramancer creating spiky plants as they're insecure or dissatisfied... Or holding a grudge...
The sizeshifter shrinking to their tiniest as they get frustrated or sad enough...
The teleporter continuously ending in a place they relate to someone they miss, or even grief...
The illusionist constantly inadvertently creating images of that special one or special place...

she lives in a massive greenhouse that suits her needs perfectly. over half is dedicated solely to the plants she discovers and grows and the rest has been converted into a suitable living space.
the experiments that were done to her cut away her connection to her witches magic and because familiars need magic to to even exist, the coven had to get creative rather quickly. they filled her with solar light, with sun touched magic and held their breaths in the hopes it would work this time, the failures stacked high in cages behind them.
tamara took a breath and continued to breathe, her heart beating steadily in her chest as the coven rejoiced at the success. she was the familiar of a floramancer, it made sense that she could be powered by the sun.
