At this time three years ago today I was at my lowest point in my life. As a first responder for almost 24 years, I have done great things and witnessed atrocities that no one should have to see, especially with children. These ghosts eventually came back to haunt me and I tried to drink the pain and darkness away. After 3 years of sleepless nights from nightmares and alcohol, I checked into a mental health and rehab facility specifically for first responders. I was nervous, not knowing what to expect, disgnosed with anxiety, PTSD and an addiction to alcohol because of it. There I met some of the most fucked up people with many of the same issues who would later become some of my strongest friends that I could lean on. If I had a chance to do it all over again, I would with all of you. Today I am 3 years sober thanks to hard work, diligence and being able to lean on a strong support group. . I love those mother fuckers! Never had a brother but I feel that this is what it would be like. Stay safe out there and thanks for your support. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Who called for backup?! Best part of 2022 was graduating from the @BayArea_TrainingAcademy accelerated EMT program, and then on the verge of tears blowing my own mind and passing the NREMT in one go! I can only describe the learning as being a Cliftnote doctor, and having to pass all the tests with no medical background…phew, I haven’t studied that hard in decades! I am now a hired EMT in San Francisco in an effort to beautify our city and clean up the streets, helping with the OD’s and fentanyl crisis, the psych wards, 911 calls, Covid surges and assist our stressed out medical workers. Enough b*tching and NIMBism, more doing! 🤜🏾 Thank you to my sweet angel Laura Hedli @StageSynapses for her redunkulously massive heart, support, love, and patience.
