Tumblr media
just a fluff with partying and drinking, nothing really serious.
this is my first tumblr fic i have posted, if anyone wants a part 2 just let me know! :) i already have it partially written!
kurt was never a guy that you thought you would spend your time with. he was a spree driver that had an obsession with wanting to be seen, an attention whore in the most simplest terms. he lives his entire life on social media, making hours and hours of content to just try to get recognition. you know it's a trauma thing, you've heard his stories from his childhood and just always tended to feel bad for him.
he was twenty-three and his mind resembled a trapped fifteen year old that just wanted a stable home life.
you didn't have the best life either and that was maybe why you felt so bad for kurt. you've related to him on different levels and for sure, your savior complex trickled out around him. the more time spent together, the more you fell for him and he fell for you.
you met him through bobby, a shitty child influencer. you had just moved to azusa in hopes of new opportunities that lie ahead of you. you were too poor to live in a city like la, so your shitty azusa apartment was good enough. you had made friends with some minor tik tokers that were impressed with your comedy videos you posted. you weren't anything special yet, excited to see where the influencing world could take you.
and one of the first la parties you found yourself at was hosted by bobbybasecamp.
you didn't like his content as it was just a mere rip off of jake paul with just as bad entitlement. it was embarrassing to you and the friends you were going with but you decided that it was just for a night to meet other people that were hopefully in the same boat as you.
when you were there, you noticed a guy on his phone that sat in the farthest empty corner he could. he was on a chair, hunched over and looked miserable. you had already gotten through a few drinks, the tipsy-ness turning into something more along the lines of 'i'm going to talk to anyone and everyone here' and that meant you were b-lining straight for the guy.
"hey," you sat opposite him on the end of the couch, smiling bright.
"h-hi?" he stammered out with confusion.
"my name is (y/n)," you brushed your hair out of your face and then shot a hand out for him to shake. "i like your hoodie, do you watch h3?"
he looked confused for a moment then smiled after you gave him a compliment on his color blocked teddy fresh hoodie. he shut his phone off and looked down at his lap in an almost anxious demeanor.
"oh yeah i do," he chirped up a bit. "my name is kurtsworld- i mean kurt, not kurtsworld."
you giggled and held your vape in your hands that rested between your thighs.
"is that your handle?" you gave him a soft smirk. "kurtsworld?"
"yeah, it's kurtworld96," he still stammered a bit, nervousness leaking from his voice. "that's my user on everything, you should follow me. i post cool stuff."
normally you would find this to be really annoying but you had heard the same exact words all night. influencer party etiquette was like following a template and filling in the blanks when it came time for your username.
you pull out your phone and look up at him with a quick glance. you typed his name into tik tok and asked him if the first user was him. he replied with a nod and you hit follow, noticing he only had about 300 followers. you thought it was weird but brushed it off. at least you made it 301.
he pulled out his phone and followed you back instantly.
"you have 50,000 followers?" he asked with excitement. "how did you do it?"
you lean your head into your arms to get closer to him.
"oh i just post comedy videos/skits," you replied nonchalantly. "nothing super special, one of my videos just hit the fyp and i've been climbing ever since."
god you sound pretentious and you hate it, hate having to explain.
"oh yeah," he smiled. "yeah i have fans too, i call them my kurties, they voted on a poll and that's how they got their name. wasn't my choice at all."
he just seemed so awkwardly tense and nervous but you found him alluring.
"how drunk are you?" you asked him.
"huh?" he asked, getting closer to you so he could hear you better.
you repeat yourself and he quickly shakes his head, "i don't drink."
you looked at him with a shocked expression. you placed a hand on his knee and giggled.
"so you don't drink and you hide in the corner of parties..." your eyes kept his locked. "do you know bobby like personally?"
he explained that he was bobby's babysitter, it was his side hustle next to spree driving. you nodded and tried to listen to him with the best of your abilities, but the alcohol had finally all settled and you could tell it was going to kick your ass. he offered to take you home and he did, you guys giggled on the car ride home.
from that day on, he commented under all your videos. you could post a shitty skit that bombed on the for you page that didn't mass over a thousand likes and he would have something nice to say under it.
kurtsworld96: You are so funny! 🤣✌️
kurtsworld96: Making me LOL!! 😹
kurtsworld96: That impression is so good! 😎✌️
it made you feel happy that he was willing to always comment on every video that you started doing the same. his content was... something else. shitty reviews, vlogs, sometimes he would try to make thirst traps but they were a bit cringe inducing. you understood he wanted to be famous and you couldn't really fault him for trying.
he then started dming you, spamming you with messages. you found it super weird at first but didn't want to be mean, so you answered pretty fast. he was weird in his conversations, always bringing up different ideas for content and you would tell him whether it was a good idea or not. he soon followed you on instagram where he moved the texting too, sending memes and reels. you were lonely since you had moved to a new state and had a clean start, so you never let him back down from spamming you like crazy.
he invited you to another party that bobby was hosting and you said yes, finding yourself getting picked up by the spree driver and bobby who was live streaming from his phone in the car. it was definitely awkward for you as you had to sit in the backseat alone.
"hey (y/n)!" kurt greeted as you put on your seatbelt, placing your bag on the opposite seat.
"hi," you said shyly, a little weirded out that bobby was there.
"hey i like your tik toks," the kid complimented as kurt took off. "didn't know kurt could actually pick up a funny chick."
you squinted and tilted your head in confusion. kurt looked at bobby and gave him a glare, bobby giggling.
"what dude?" he laughed. "you're like a total fucking loser and she is like fucking cool. weird to think that she would want to be near a creep like you."
before you could open your mouth to respond to bobby's shitty behavior, he had a donation come in through his stream.
"bobby based camp, w."
"don't say that stuff about me on your stream," kurt pleaded. "he is just kidding guys! make sure you follow me at kurtsworld96, i stream too and also i make con-"
"shut the fuck up, what have i told you about polluting the stream!?" bobby yelled like a toddler.
you were super anxious at the interaction you had witnessed. you wanted to chime in but you felt like you were frozen in second hand embarrassment from the two of them. you wanted to defend kurt and set the record straight that you guys were nothing more than acquaintances, but you didn't want to embarrass kurt or have bobby yell at you back. you just stayed silent the rest of the car ride, nodding at the casual questions kurt asked you.
once you got to the house, bobby went upstairs to his room to change and you sat on the couch with kurt. you still felt awkward and he started posting to his instagram story that he was about to throw a huge party with bobby.
soon people started filing in and you grabbed the first drink you could find that someone had left on the table, unopened. you chugged it the best you could, wanting to get tipsy to forget your anxious antics.
you avoided kurt a bit, still listening to his ramblings about something called ‘the lesson’ which you could care less about. you would interrupt to talk to different people which left kurt lingering in the background. he was getting antsy but you just felt nervous trying to talk to him.
"are you mad at me, (y/n)?" kurt asked as he tapped you on the shoulder.
you put your second drink down and swallowed down your sip. you shook your head.
"why would i be mad at you?" you asked with empathy filling your words.
he shrugged, "the whole car ride thing, you stopped like answering me."
you just explained that you felt bad but you aren't equipped for conflict. he told you about how bobby is just 'bossy' which you would say is one word to describe him.
you got progressively more drunk, drunker than the last party. more and more influencers filed in which meant more booze for you. you wished you could've bought stuff you actually liked but being nineteen doesn't really allow you to drink legally. kurt noticed you stumbling a little bit and slurring your words that he eventually cut you off.
in retaliation you started crying in front of him like a child that had gotten grounded for a week. he felt bad but he knew he would have to drive you home and he wasn't super comfortable with drunk people. he only had to be at these parties because bobby's mom worked saturday nights and the only way bobby could be allowed to party was if kurt was there. he was suppose to be monitoring everybody but he found it annoying quite fast.
"kurt! kurt! kurt!" you cried out, shaking his shoulders so you could get his attention.
"what?" he asked, his body stiff under your touch.
"go to the b-bathroom with me please?" you asked, commencing your drunk puppy dog eyes as a manipulation tactic.
"what? no," he said with wide eyes. "that's weird."
you pouted and kept shaking him.
"but i don't wanna pee alone!" you rang out, your words starting to sound sloppy.
kurt obliges because duh, he wants to be alone in a bathroom with a girl!?
you pulled down your pants and started peeing in the toilet. he covered his eyes as he shut the door and then turned round to face the wall opposite to you.
"thank you for inviiiting me kurtie," you giggled. "sorry i got so druuunk, i know you must hate me now."
he fidgeted with his blue shirt sleeves and scoffed.
"i don't hate you, (y/n)," he kept his gaze straight on the ground. "you are like a really good friend, i could never hate you."
even your drunk mind paused for a second as you wiped yourself with toilet paper. you two had only been talking for two weeks now, no way you're already a 'really good' friend. this guy had to be just as lonely or lonelier than you.
you thought back to the comments that bobby was making and your mind slurred the connection together. you pulled your pants up and flushed, kurt turning around. you went to the sink to wash your hands and he lingered to the side of you where the door sat.
"i should get- head out," he went to grab the door knob but with your newly dried hands you stopped him.
"no stay in here with me please," you cried out.
you two were very close to each other now, your fronts nearly pressed together. you looked up at him and he was staring daggers into you, his eyes scanning your face and his lips parted in confusion.
"uh, okay," he took his hand off the door knob and you smiled.
you pushed yourself onto the counter, trying to sit. you got up but you hit your head against the edge of the cabinet. you didn't cry but you did yell out and grab the top of your head.
"are you okay?" kurt quickly grabbed hold of your head gently.
you let go of the spot back he started digging through your hair.
"aw, you scraped up your head a bit," he let go of your head and you sat there teary eyed but still looked back up at him.
you started laughing to make yourself feel better.
"maybe it's time for me to go home, kurtie," you sighed and hopped back down. "i've embarrassed myself enough in one day."
he led you out of the party and texted bobby to tell him he will be back in about thirty minutes. you sat in the passenger seat and kept staring at kurt.
he noticed and blushed really hard.
"what- why are you looking at me?" he started stuttering again.
you just gave him a giggle and kept staring at him with no response, just a huge smile plastered on your face.
"what?" he looked over quickly and then kept his eyes on the road ahead of him.
after you two had been in the car for twenty minutes, you started talking again.
"you like me," you slurred out. "i figured it out in the bathroom, y-you liiike like me."
he laughed nervously and looked rapidly at his lap then the road. his cheeks were more than just red, they had to have been red hot. steam could've risen off of them.
"what? no."
"yeah huuuh, that's why you went to the bathroom with me and checked my head," you just kept your gaze on him. "you would be too awkward to just dooo that as a frieeeenddd."
he laughed again.
"i-well.. you.." he was freaking out and didn't know what words to use.
he then felt better as he approached your apartment building and parked his car.
"i am noot getting out yet," you pouted. "you have to admit you liiike meeee kurtie!"
he wanted you to get out so badly but also wanted to keep you around. he was embarrassed that you caught him because bobby wasn't being kind.
he would open his mouth but was too awkward to respond.
"kiss me, kurt," you blurted out, getting closer to him.
he shook his head immediately.
"no, that's wrong," he finally said a real sentence and it was in a serious tone you hadn't heard from him yet. "you're drunk (y/n), let me just get you inside and help you go to bed, okay?"
you giggled.
"you just proved that you like me!" you yelled as he got out of his seat, shutting his door behind him.
he then came over and opened your side, helping you out. you held onto his arm and he asked which one was your apartment. you told him the number and he led you up the stairs, your hands wrapped around his forearm. he helped you get your keys out and unlocked the door.
"are you gonna stay with me?" you ask as you start leading him to your room.
he just said "maybe."
he then took off your shoes and threw your fuzzy blanket over you.
you closed your eyes and immediately passed out, kurt leaving your apartment and getting back in his car, smiling at the fact that you wanted him to kiss you.

Cuun Tracinya [SWs Fanfic]
I’ll only be posting the first chapter here. The rest will be on AO3.
Synopsis: Kote was raised to believe the jedi were near gods of infinite power who only accepted the best of the best. But when he meets an injured soft eyed man with coppery hair and a sweet smile- he realizes that jedi are more fragile than he'd been led to believe.
Something about this man, his gentle sincerity, endless kindness, and fiery determination, calls out to him. Calls out to all of the vode. They were told they were created for the jedi. But Kote can't help but thinking that maybe... it was the jedi who were made for them.
Tags: Alien biology, Taung ancestry, obsessive and possessive behavior, dubious morality, clone culture and pack dynamics/hierarchy. Characters: Obi-wan, Cody, Rex, the 212th Pairings: Obi-wan/Cody, Obi-wan/Rex, Obi-wan/212th Link: https://archiveofourown.org/works/26782984/chapters/65336146
The first thing they learned as cadets was that they were made for the Jedi. All powerful and aloof beings that would find them wanting if they weren’t good enough, fast enough, strong enough, or smart enough. The second thing they learned was what happened to those who didn’t make the cut. The brothers who disappeared one cycle and never returned. The ones with the wrong color of hair or eyes, the ones who had trouble learning, the ones whose hands shook when they whispered late at night ‘I can’t do this anymore.’
Nothing but the best would do for the Jedi.
Rising through all of that was a near impossible task and yet some vode found solace in the struggle, in the challenge. Kote was one of them. Jango himself had named the future clone commander after a particularly nasty test called the Gauntlet. Kote had stood tall against the challengers and held his position at the top, never allowing a single vod or even trainer to unseat him. He was moved straight to the command track the next day.
As they grew they were introduced more and more to the idea of Jedi and what serving the Republic would be like. Soldiers, they were, and fighting was in their blood. But something struck Kote as odd. What he could find of the Jedi painted them not as war heroes but as some kind of peace keeper. He began to wonder why the Jedi, powerful beings of near limitless power with the ability to move things with their mind, would need an army. If one of them was worth an entire battalion… then why were there battalions to begin with?
The first time he saw a Jedi he knew immediately who and what they were. Brown robes, soaked from the rain, and pale skin that could barely be seen from under the wide hood. A thrill of anticipation ran through him. He had so many questions he wanted to ask, so many things he needed to know.
Then the hood came down and he froze. Copper locks, the likes of which he’d never seen before, and liquid blue eyes that made his heart speed in his chest. “Huh, Stewjoni. Don’t see that every day.” Two of the trainers had been doing a review of the troops, pitting them against each other in some sort of game to see how well they could think on the field. Both of them stopped to watch the Jedi as they passed. “Wonder how the Jetii manage to keep them away from all the slavers. Stewjoni are a rare breed.” Kote’s eyes followed the Jedi until they were out of sight- he needed to do research.
Stewjoni, it turns out, were a race of near-humans who were known for their high fertility and advanced adaptability. They could survive, and even thrive, almost anywhere. Them being a Jedi just made all the more sense to him now. And yet… the Jedi had looked so small next to the Kaminoans. There was something almost meek and gentle about them that made Kote frown in concern. He hoped he would be able to see them again and ask all the questions burning a hole in his mind.
Kote, and a large chunk of the command class, had never really put much stock in the Force or the Manda the trainers occasionally spoke about. So when he came across the Jedi again on his way to a class he was stunned still for a moment. The Jedi, who really needed a name, leaned against the white walls as if trying to keep themselves standing. Their cloak was gone and their uniform was soaked through, as if they’d decided to take a swim in the raging ocean below. Their hair was almost the color of blood and there was a bruise on their cheek. Kote started when he realized they were wounded.
“Sir!” The Jedi turned to look at him and fear crossed their face for a moment before it was hidden behind a blank mask. Kote knew that expression well and it shocked him to the core to see it one someone who was supposed to be his superior. “Let me help you to medical, Sir.” He said quietly, holding up his hands in a placating gesture often used on the more skittish of the young cadets. The Jedi gave him a small smile, trying to wave him off.
“Oh, no, I am perfectly fine. No need to see a medic. I’m only catching my breath.” They looked up at him, straightening, and Kote was surprised to find the Jedi was smaller than he was. Not by much, but it was enough. Funny, he’d never thought they would be smaller than he and his brothers. “Your, um, template?” The question was tentative, as if the Jedi wasn’t quite sure how to ask.
“The Prime.” Kote answered easily enough, liking the way the Jedi’s expression softened to appreciation.
“Ah, yes, thank you. The Prime, that is Jango, and I had a bit of a disagreement. I’m afraid my ship was utterly destroyed before he tossed me into the ocean.” There was a lightness to their voice, a hint of humor. It almost made him ignore the statement itself. Almost.
“The Prime did what!?” The Jedi shrank back slightly, as if worried about his reaction to the news. Honestly Kote was surprised he could read the nearly inexistent body language, especially with the loose clothing they were wearing. But there was something so expressive about their eyes, something that drew him in. “Sir, please at least let one of my medics check you over.” Knowing that the Jedi were supposedly mind readers he tried to force sincerity and concern into every single word. The Jedi shuddered slightly and licked his lips before slowly nodding. In relief Kote reached out and took the Jedi’s nearest arm, putting it over his neck and slipping an arm around the Jedi’s back to help him walk.
“This is completely unnecessary, you… ah.” Kote looked down at them when they faltered, finding the slight flush of their skin to be endearing. “I’m afraid I didn’t get your name.” Kote frowned slightly.
“Sorry, Sir. I am CC-2224.” There was a very pointed silence for a moment that he could almost feel. The hand over his shoulder clung even harder to his armor for a moment. “Or… you could call me Kote, if you prefer.” It was a risk, a gamble. There was no reason to believe a Jedi would care about something so simple as a name. Yet the relieved smile he received was enough to make his tense shoulders relax.
“Thank you for trusting me with your name, Kote.” The Jedi blinked for a moment, then frowned. “Is it Cody, or Glory? Like Darasuum Kote?” Hearing the Mando’a fall from their soft lips so easily made something light up inside him, something he couldn’t explain or control. He had to swallow hard past the sudden lump in his throat in order to reply.
“Bal kote, darasuum kote.” He murmured, feeling the tips of his ears burn.
“Suvarir. Kote it is.” They paused and a sheepish look crossed their face. “My name is Obi-wan Kenobi, He/Him, I am a Knight of the Jedi Order.” Kote tilted his head, wondering what that was in terms of rank. The Jedi were supposed to be their Generals, so he suspected it was something in that vein. He also didn’t miss how the Jedi had labeled himself as male, or at the very least using male terms. Kote would have to be sure to use them. Some of the trainers got particularly incensed when you messed up and called them by the wrong term.
As they walked further into Tipoca city every brother they passed quickly snapped to attention, trying desperately to hide the surprise and glee at finally seeing a Jedi in their midst before realizing that he was hurt. Even without looking Kote could just feel the sudden worry and concern, like a tangible sensation against his skin. Under his arm the Jedi shivered, although he couldn’t tell if it was from the cold or from the thoughts of his brothers around them. Eventually he sat them down in a common area and barked for a medic. The battalions had been assigned for half a year now, so everyone already knew their place. Where Kote went the rest of his battalion wasn’t far behind. So it wasn’t really a surprise when Stitch practically materialized next to them and began to fuss.
“Sir, what happened to you?” There was a hush as the clones waited to hear the Jedi speak. Kote already knew what his voice sounded like and even he was excited to hear that voice once again. The Jedi looked around at them wide eyed and politely cleared his throat.
“As I was telling Kote on the way here. I had a… disagreement with the Prime.” He glanced to Kote, as if trying to gauge whether he’d said it right. Kote gave him a small nod of acknowledgment and the Jedi continued. “We fought and my ship was destroyed. I ended up in the ocean, it was all quite unpleasant.” The hushed anticipation turned to awe. Even with their superior genetics none of them had ever been able to go toe to toe with the Prime. The fact that the Jedi didn’t have any broken limbs or was bleeding out all over the floor was impressive to say the least.
Stitch tugged at the Jedi’s clothes and got an annoyed look in response. The medic just scowled imperiously. “Sir, I can’t check you over properly unless you remove your… tops.” They weren’t quite sure what to call the loose cloth that covered the Jedi but it was obviously in the way. Seeing no objections, no one to back him up, the Jedi let out a sigh and finally complied. Kote tried not to stare at the pale scarred flesh, only focusing on the spreading yellow bruise over his right side. For the first time in his life he felt a small pang of jealousy as Stitch ran careful fingers over pale skin.
“Sir, you have at least three cracked ribs, multiple contusions, and a twisted ankle. I can administer a pain killer and some bacta, but that’s the best I can do at this time. I’m only a medic.” The Jedi smiled and shook his head.
“Really, there’s no need, I’ll be f-”
“What’s all this?” An unwanted voice called into the quiet moment of awe. Kote clenched his fists even as he straightened in response to a voice that he had been taught to obey. Sergeant Priest shoved past the troopers milling about. The man stopped once he could finally see the Jedi and his face contorted with disdain. “Jetii!” He hissed, reaching for his weapon.
Without a second thought three of the vode tackled the training sergeant to the floor. It didn’t matter if they were scared of him, it didn’t matter that he had a weapon and they had none, Priest had attempted to attack the Jedi. The Jedi who had been wounded in a previous fight and was sitting there amongst them, looking small and vulnerable. All of their instincts kicked in as the need to protect the Jedi took over.
“Get off of me!” The sergeant growled, trying to kick and punch the vode who were holding him down. The Jedi rose from the bench and moved closer to the struggling men. Kote wanted to reach out and stop him but found himself rooted to the spot when those blue eyes darkened to a stormy gray. Priest stopped moving and glared up at the Jedi. “You’re Kryze’s pet jetii, dar’manda whore!” He spat, face reddening with anger and strain. The Jedi stiffened in surprise before reaching out a hand and holding it above the sergeant’s face.
“Sleep.” Sergeant Priest shook his head vigorously, though his struggles were becoming weaker. “Go to sleep.” The Jedi wasn’t loud or even particularly forceful but there was something firm in his voice that felt unnatural, otherworldly. Priest’s eyes rolled back slightly before he slumped to the ground, unconscious. Whatever he’d done had rendered the man no longer a threat. The vode who had been holding onto him relaxed and slowly got up.
“Sir, we’ll see to it he’s locked up.” The Jedi smiled, though he wavered slightly on the spot.
“Thank you. I don’t want him to hurt anyone else.” There was a pause and a sigh. “I didn’t think that Jango Fett would allow Kyr’tsad anywhere near him, let alone allow someone like that to train his…” He shook his head almost sadly before he seemed to remember he had an audience.
Now that the danger was over there was more than one vod whose eyes were slowly trailing over his still unclothed chest and back. The Jedi’s face flushed beneath his beard and he shuffled nervously on his feet for a moment. “Sir, sit down and let me do my job. You need bacta. I’m worried about that sprain.” Thankfully Stitch was a persistent bastard of a vod and quickly hustled the Jedi back to the bench.
“Kote!” Turning he spied his favourite brother and smiled. Rex was a little winded, he’d probably run the entire way. Skidding to a stop next to him his brother opened his mouth to ask a question but stopped. His eyes had continued onward toward the odd splash of color in their midst and suddenly whatever his brother had meant to ask was gone to the void. Rex’s mouth hung open as he gaped at the half naked Jedi. Kote nudged him with an elbow and Rex shook for a moment, as if pulling himself out of a daydream.
“Is that-” Kote nodded.
‘Jedi. Mine. Get your own.’ It was only meant to be a playful jab, a throwaway joke, but something deep in his mind curled around the idea, clinging to it. The clones had been made for the Jedi, of course they would belong to them. But… why? Why did they need the clones if they were so powerful? He knew the Kaminoans were constantly lying, during testing, during class. Even the training sergeants disliked and distrusted the Kaminoans. So why should they blindly believe-
His brother responded by slapping him on the back of the head, which immediately broke through his thoughts. He glared at Rex, who gave him a cheeky smirk in return.
“Oh, hello there.” That soft voice called out to them. Rex turned to look at the Jedi and froze, expression carefully blank. Kote knew he was worried what the Jedi would think of him. After all the strict training and harsh testing Rex had been through, solely due to the color of his hair, he knew his brother was expecting to be found wanting. Even if he was one of the most talented vode.
“Sir.” Rex said, sanding at attention. The Jedi’s smile faltered slightly for a moment but it quickly returned.
“Who might you be?” Rex glanced at Kote, who signed a quick ‘designation,’ at him. His brother took a breath.
“CT-75-” The Jedi waved his hand in the air and Rex’s mouth shut with a snap.
“Oh, no, I… if you happen to have a name you prefer? I would be more than happy to use it.” Kote watched Rex as his brother digested the Jedi’s words before giving a slow, wary, nod.
“Rex.” The smile his brother received was one that Kote would be unable to forget as long as he lived. It was like seeing the sun for the first time.
“Oh thank the force! Please, if you all have names I would be honored to use them. None of this numbers business.” He faltered slightly, looking around. “Unless of course you prefer your numbers, in which case I will honor your decision and do my best to remember.” It was like a shock wave went through them. No one had ever told them they had a choice before.
“Thank you, Sir.” The Jedi looked up at him oddly, a slight frown on his lips.
“For what, Kote?” Stars, he could get used to hearing his name in that soft lilting voice.
“For using our names.” For giving them the choice to use them. A fierce look came over the Jedi and he stood, arms crossed over his chest.
“It’s what you all should have had from the beginning. You are all sentient beings with your own thoughts, feelings, and preferences. Each and every one of you shines differently in the force. You may look alike on the surface, Kote, but you are all unique.” A hush fell over them all as he spoke. There was a fire inside the Jedi that touched something within them, setting the tinder in their souls aflame.
“Sir.” Kote said, stepping closer and giving a proper salute. “We are at your command.” His, and no one else’s. Kote had already decided. This Jedi was his and he would kill anyone who tried to get in his way.

Sorry if you’ve answered something like this before but, do you have any tips of writing slow burn, and just writing in general? Lol thank you and love your work!
No worries! I’m always down to talk about writing. Thank you for your kind words. :)
To write a slow burn, you will want to start with the main pairing as strangers, acquaintances, or even enemies. You could also start them as friends, but if you begin with the two having a close relationship already, it would be hard to draw that out because friends to lovers basically only adds kissing and physical intimacy, but if you start from the very beginning/first meeting you have more time to develop the relationship, which will take more words, and make the burn slower.
No matter what level of relationship you start the pairing at, there has to be a reason why they can’t be together yet because if you start with no obstacle, it will be hard to justify why they aren’t together. Obstacles could be the characters are in other relationships, one or both might have just gotten out of a bad/abusive relationship, they’re in a bad place mentally/physically, and distance or other characters are keeping them apart. This also gives you something to overcome not just in the relationship, but for the individual characters and their journey, and it adds depth to the plot. And the richer the plot, the more you can draw it out and slow down the burn!
To make the slow burn enjoyable instead of annoying or frustrating, try not to make overcoming the relationship obstacles or individual challenges “too easy” for the characters. They should have near misses and setbacks, or it won’t feel satisfying or intriguing when they finally get together, or oppositely, if it’s too hard and drawn out, and there’s one shitty event after the other, it will feel like okay!!! enough already!!! So try to space out good and bad events and keep it balanced. :)
Know when to time skip and when to accept that you just need to write an entire scene. Time skipping can rush character development and make the ending feel unearned, but writing every detail of the characters’ lives can get boring to read. When you need some exposition or world building and not just fun plot or explicit scenes try to use the seemingly mundane interactions to your advantage to further the plot, introduce characters, build character(s), build relationships, foreshadow, or make fun references to canon.
For an example of all of the above points, in my story Disorder, Tony and Peter have their first meeting, and what’s holding them back from being together is Peter’s age and his poor mental health and self-image. He has a lot of good moments and bad moments, and doesn’t just lose weight and gain confidence over night. I take Tony and Peter throughout a working relationship, then a friendship, and then the buildup of an intimate relationship, and when I’m not outlining every personal training session between the two, I’m building their relationships and friendships with other people and giving both of them a chance to interact in other spaces besides the gym. So Peter will be at school with Ned and MJ showing his sense of humour, interacting with Flash, and maybe mentioning the upcoming Decathlon ten chapters later, so that when I bring it up later, it doesn’t come out of nowhere. Then I might skip a week to the next lesson with Tony because if you’re reading a Starker story, obviously you want most of the interactions to be Tony/Peter. :)
Adding in more people than the main pairing makes for a well-rounded story because other characters exist and help make the main pairing who they are. (For Peter, I like Ned, MJ, May, Flash, and Mr. Delmar, and for Tony, I like Pepper, Rhodey, Happy, Jarvis, and Nebula. Bucky is just a necessity for every story, also. ;) ) Making the side characters funny or interesting, or inserting running jokes about them will make the parts with those people more enjoyable to read, even if the pairing isn’t featured.
Short chapter length or transitional chapters are necessary, but can be tedious because you don’t want to have an info dump, but you don’t want to go through the pain of writing an entire interaction and scene just for the sake of increasing word count, so accepting that not every chapter is going to be the Best Chapter is important. If you need to get information across about the backstory, or exposition, you can have it expressed through dialogue, or do a little bit of info dumping at a time and try to weave it into other things, so it’s not huge chunks of info that can be boring or confusing.
Add a little bit of your own personality to the writing too. I’m not really a poetic writer, and I prefer to write snappy dialogue and let character dynamics do the work, but some people can talk about the flowering trees and the winding roads of the countryside. I don’t know anything about that lol, so when I try to write it, I feel silly and then the scene suffers because I’m not saying anything I actually care about. So write the style that feels most natural to you and it won’t be boring because you’ll be able to feel your energy in the story, and writers are what bring a lot of the emotion to the fan fiction. Every reader likes something different, so write for your own tastes and the people who like your style will stick around.
There’s a time and place for surprises or complications, but the type that you put into the story should be consistent with the expectations you and the readers have—whether you’ve stated these by your tags or the plot summary. Example, a coffee shop AU doesn’t turn into a sex worker AU, or soft, domestic Tony doesn’t turn into a dark stalker. Those are valid occurrences, but they’re so different that it’s not a fun twist for readers…it’s legitimately not what they signed up for. A surprise in Disorder that works is when you find out Tony’s own personal struggles during his POV with Rhodey. It adds depth to his character and another layer to his dynamic with Peter, but it isn’t shocking or contrary to what I’ve already written.
For most of Disorder, Tony and Peter each don’t think the other would be interested, or if they were, “not right now” or “not because of the age difference” etc... and I kept having them almost connect/admit it, but then I’d hold back. Knowing when and how I wanted them to get together from the very beginning helped with the slow burn as well because I had to think of how to get them from point A to B. I knew I wanted Peter to be at good place mentally, but not perfect, and I wanted May to be more accepting of the relationship, so it became a game of filling in the blanks instead of just starting a story with no end in sight, and then it feels difficult to give it direction.
Creating outlines and templates for a story helps me. Like a table that outlines which characters are featured in a chapter, and any major plot points, and just general info. This way when you go to write future chapters or edit, you don’t have to reread everything, and when it’s all laid out in front of you, it can be easier to be like, “Oh, this just happened in Chapter 1, so I don’t want another crazy event to happen in Chapter 5 because I want the energy of the story to be evenly spaced.”
Edit not just for grammar but for subtle mistakes like repeating a lot of the same phrases and words. I tend to overuse “just” and start a lot of sentences with, “well”, so I have to be careful of that. Also for continuity like if Peter is sitting down in one paragraph, and then you say he sat down in the next paragraph even though he’s already sitting...
Decide how you want your story to be regarding realism, whether it’s in the context of an AU or a canon-compliant story. Maybe you don’t care about being realistic to our universe, and maybe you want to write something completely off the wall. There should be some sort of structure and consistency with the characters so that the reader feels stable and like they can trust where you’re going. Even if you want to write a master/slave AU where Tony keeps Peter on a leash, or something like a body swap, there’s still things that you can do to keep it realistic in the context of that story. Like if Tony was portrayed as a very loyal and possessive master, he’s not going to be sharing Peter with someone later in the story, unless you’ve decided that him getting over that is necessary to the plot, and sufficient character building shows him slowly becoming more open. Or in a body swap, if Peter and Tony switch, they’re not going to immediately go and put each other at risk or use their bodies to betray one another.
So I don’t know what you’re writing, but no matter what, try creating mystery by leaving things unsaid/undiscovered, or raising questions within the plot for readers to find out later. You don’t have to give up everything right away! (I know it’s hard not to spill the beans, but it lets people figure things out on their own or wonder if you’ll mention it again.) (Make sure you remember if you’re doing this so you don’t accidentally create a plot hole.) An example of this in Disorder is raising the topic of will Peter go to college, or not. Eventually he decides. Another is why Tony doesn’t like to give cards in his gifts, and then eventually he gives one to Peter, and it makes it really special. <3
I hope this helps!

How To Motivate, Encourage, and Inspire Writers - A Masterpost
Hey guys! I am reposting this guide because it got mysteriously deleted. This version includes some new additions and advice for readers.
This is meant to be a guide to help people give valuable, inspiring feedback, as well as how to send in prompts and requests that are more likely to be used. Remember that these are simply suggestions designed to help YOU as a reader get more of what you want. <3
Please let me know if you have anything to add, as this post was a collaborative effort and it can only get better with more input.
*
What Readers Can Do
1. Like and reblog the stories you enjoy. Fanfic authors don’t get paid. Their only “currency” is notes and feedback. Seeing the notes climb, as silly as it may seem, is a huge motivator to write more. If you are shy about using your main blog for this, you can always create a sideblog and reblog the fic you like there. Authors will notice this and it’s also a great record when you want to go back to fic that you enjoy!
2. Positive feedback! A simple “I love this” or “I can’t wait for more” is great if that’s all you have to say, as well as general writer appreciation, but even better...
3. Comment with specifics. What did you like about the story or writing style? You can talk about the plot itself, characterization, dialogue, the writer’s voice or sense of humor, how the story made you feel, what you’d like to see more of...anything, even the smallest detail, that made you enjoy reading it. Nothing is more motivating for a writer than knowing that their hard work is appreciated.
Some examples of great comments with places to fill in the blanks with specifics. Feel free to use all or part of these as templates when you want to send a comment but you’re not sure where to begin:
[Author Name] - your last fic was so [complimentary adjective]! You really [description of something they did well]. Can’t wait for your next [story/chapter].
[Author Name] - I love [Title] so much! I especially love [part you enjoyed].
I hope we get more of [Title] from [Author Name]. It is [complimentary adjective].
Just read [Title] and [exclamation]! I am [emotion or state of mind].
I really loved [Title] by [Author Name]! My favorite part was probably [specific impactful theme or moment in fic], because it really made me feel [emotional response].
I am [emotion or state of mind] over [Title] by [Author Name]. It was so [descriptive adjective] when [describe moment in story].
Some more examples of really great, detailed, inspiring comments.
4. Start an actual dialogue with an author. As mentioned above, reblogging with comments (even just in the tags) is great. You can also send asks directly to their blogs, DM them, or send additional asks when they respond. Authors may have questions for you, and being able to interact can easily spark something or help them find direction where they were stuck. You can find a list of authors’ sideblogs here if you want to send messages directly to them.
5. Direct requests and prompts to specific writers who you enjoy. Start with why you like them and then explain your idea or request. By doing that, they will start off knowing that they are appreciated, making them way more likely to get excited by your suggestion. Try to phrase things in an open-ended and positive way. “I’d love to see how you would handle [prompt situation/pairing/suggestion]” or “here’s an idea, I think you could do something really cool with it.” The more detailed and supportive your prompt is, the more likely it is that someone will get excited and inspired by it. If your request is for “more” of something that exists, include a reason why you like that story, author, etc. If your request is for something different, talk about something else you liked and why.
Examples of how to send in requests and prompts to specific writers, or include a compliment:
[Author Name(s)] is/are awesome and I would love for them to write more [ship or thing you love].
I would give anything for more [ship or request], especially if it’s similar to [Title(s)], they are my favorite!
I love [Author Name]’s style so much, and I’d be so happy if they wrote [ship/thing you want from them].
I wonder how [Author Name] or [Author Name] would handle [idea]? I would love to read that!
[Title] by [Author Name] is so [positive adjective]! It makes me really want them to try [idea] because I bet they would [motivating phrase like “kill it!”].
[Author Name] - have you ever considered writing [prompt]? [Motivating sentence like “I would die for that!”]
I really love [ship], especially [story title(s)/author name(s)]. I would love to see one where [prompt].
6. Creating artwork, edits, moodboards, or anything inspired by a story you like. This is like, the PINNACLE for most writers. Knowing that someone connected to something you wrote enough to take time out of their day to create something inspired by your story. It’s like drugs. ART IS DRUGS PASS IT ON.
7. If you are a writer, comment on other writers’ stories! You know more than anyone how hard they worked, so please show your fellow authors some love.
Demotivators
1. Anything that sounds aggressive or demanding. You catch more flies with honey.
2. Complaining about the lack of a certain ship, ESPECIALLY if ANYTHING featuring that ship has been posted in the last month of so. Writers are reading these comments, especially if they have posted recently. Can you imagine how demoralizing it is to post a story and then 3 days later, read a comment bemoaning how there’s NOTHING from that ship, that ship is dead, etc? Like this, written about one of the most popular, enduring ships in the fandom with some of the most prolific, talented writers here:
Tumblr media
Don’t be that anon. ^
3. Begging and whining, especially for something extremely vague - this sounds way less cute than you think, and reading something like “I will die if I don’t get more [ship]” is more annoying than inspiring. Especially if, as stated above, the thing you are dying over already exists.
4. Giving nothing at all. Most of the writers expect to at least see their work is noticed. If there are no responses at all, they can’t provide you with anything new. And worst case scenario, they lose the motivation to finish it because they think no one is interested.
Notes From Some Writers (and Readers!)
“I’m famously horrendously bad at abandoning fics but about 95% of my will to continue to keep writing is because I know other people are reading and interested that I keep writing, and I’m sure that’s how a lot of other writers operate too. We’re all fuelled by positive reinforcement, so please tell us! Oh, and btw, commenting just to get mad at lack of updates is not encouragement and is actually super irritating and stressful. Just so ya know.” - Edith
“Having an artist come to you and say ‘Hey, I was inspired by your story’ is FANTASTIC. And also encouraging because someone has taken time to create something and say ‘hey, I really liked the thing you made’. It becomes a cycle.” - Kitschy
“Take a look anywhere, on AQ or ao3 or any other platforms. You’ll see (on ao3), probably at most, 10:1 ratio for hits to kudos, alone. There are even less comments. On AQ, probably a 10:1 ratio for likes to reblogs, and the most popular fics only have a little over 100 notes period. Now, consider that it can take a writer months to be happy with a fic they submit. This takes countless hours. Fiction writers, in real life, get money for their work. We get nothing. Nothing, that is, except whatever appreciation you can give us. If we put work and our hearts and souls into something and get nothing, we question our talent, our abilities, our devotion. We refresh the pages where our works are posted constantly, hoping for some feedback, some appreciation, and most readers only read the fiction and give no feedback or appreciation whatsoever.
“All you, as a reader, have to do to make us happy is take 1 to fifteen minutes out of your day to leave a comment, send an ask, send a message to a sideblog. Leave commentary in the tags if you reblog. Any reaction at all. It is all we get for the work we put in.” - Miss Bianca
“My 2 cents I guess is just to get into a habit of acknowledging works that you like. Even for me I'll read stuff and really enjoy it but forget to comment or like it so I'm gonna work on it and I’d like everyone else do it as well. Once people get in the habit of commenting and liking it becomes second nature and with that kind of positive environment it allows writers to grow.” - MissChimKi
“Going back in time, my first work was posted two years ago, and the last comment I got was a huge thank you for writing such a good story and the emotions of that reader, it’s the kind of tiny little things that give me fuel to keep writing.” - Saiphl
“I once wrote 5000 words in a day simply because someone told me that they were reading my smut in church. So, extreme enthusiasm is awesome, but don’t feel like you have to exaggerate and say ‘this is the best thing I ever read.’ A simple ‘I am going to hell...I was in a church service reading Exposed chapter 9’ is more than enough!” - Veronica
“Something that motivates me as a writer is when readers pick out parts of my fic to say why they enjoyed them. Advice for readers would be to never think you’re complimenting too much! I’ve seen some readers cut their asks short because they don’t want to gush too much. As writers we love praise and attention, we’re like Tinkerbell really!” - Vixen

How to Create a Social Media Content Calendar
If you’re a social media manager, you need to plan out your entire month of posts. Never leave it to the last minute, trying to come up with new and exciting post ideas day by day.
By creating a social media content calendar, you ensure that all of your posts adhere to your content strategy.
But creating a social media content calendar takes skill and know-how. You need to understand what a social media calendar is, why it’s useful, and how you can go about making one.
What is a Social Media Content Calendar?
If you’re a social media content manager, the first thing that you need to know about your content calendar is that it is an incredibly helpful tool that will let you plan out your social postings on a monthly basis.
Here’s an example of a social media content calendar:
If you’re not already using a social media management tool, then a social media content calendar is usually an excel file, with various tabs assigned to different social platforms. Remember, the posting requirements differ based on the platform you’re using. Facebook has different restrictions than Twitter. Twitter restrictions will be different from Instagram, and so on.
One of the best features of a social media content calendar is that it can help you keep track of themed days of the month.
That can mean two different things.
You can create your own themed days, like Inspirational Mondays or Workspace Wednesdays. It’s a great idea to have these days because you can create a hashtag around them and see if they catch fire.
The other meaning behind themed days of the month is national days. Every day of the year is “National (Something) Day.” There’s everything from National Bunny Day to National Bread Day. Creating social media content based around these holidays can generate interest. Keeping track of them in your content calendar is a great way to plan around them.

The social media content calendar helps you plan out your content and schedule ahead of time using a system. It can also help you keep track of the images you’re going to share, organizing them week by week and day by day.

Why Should You Use a Social Media Content Calendar?
Every business that wants to maximize their social media presence should be using a social media content calendar. There’s a reason that 92% of content marketing professionals use social calendars.
A social media content calendar can help you address the challenge of declining organic social media reach in two primary ways.
If you’ve tried to create a social media presence for your business, there’s one thing you probably noticed straight away…
Social media sites are crowded.
Every business is trying to get a piece of the social media pie. That’s because social media is the ideal marketing hunting ground. Practically every demographic has some kind of social media presence, from teens to senior citizens and everyone in between.
Because of this, the social media platforms themselves have seen dollar signs where business marketing is concerned. Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg doesn’t make any money if your organic post goes viral. Facebook and other social media giants want you to pay to boost your posts and purchase ads. That’s how they make their money.
This was confirmed by Zuckerberg himself in 2018, when he publicly stated that Facebook users would be seeing fewer organic posts from businesses and brands.
One of the only ways to get noticed with organic posting is to approach your social media strategy with a plan.
And a content calendar helps you keep track of that plan.
The social media calendar will help you keep to schedule, a crucial element if you’re looking to make a splash in the social media world. Remember, the more consistently you post, the better your exposure will be. Customers get used to regular postings, and will seek you out in time.
But in order to establish that routine, you have to post on a regular basis.
And you need to plan out your content platform by platform.
You need to keep track of what you are posting and where. The calendar represents an easy record that you can go back and look through.
This record also helps you figure out how you’re doing in terms of social content. If you have a huge influx of comments and follows, you’ll want to remember what you did in order to duplicate your results.
The calendar can help you determine where these spikes occurred and what content was going on each platform.
It’s also important to keep track of the time that you’re posting, and check your results. Remember, different platforms experience high traffic at different times. That means all of your posts should not go out at the same time across every channel.
Finally, another great benefit of a social media content calendar is that it can be easily shared with team members for convenient collaboration.

Creating a Social Media Content Calendar
Creating a social media content calendar takes a lot of effort. There are a number of steps you’ll have to take before you write the first line of content. There’s a massive amount of work that goes into creating the perfect social media strategy. Your calendar is just one part of that overall project.
Let’s look at the steps needed to make a social media content calendar one at a time and see where to begin.
Step 1: Information Gathering
You could consider the information-gathering stage of your social media content strategy to be an audit of your current social media needs.
In order to improve, you first have to figure out where you are, where you’ve been, and what’s preventing you from getting to where you want to be.
The first step to a good social media audit is determining which platforms you’re currently using and what level of success you’re seeing for all of them. You should take the time to review your results for at least the last six months and use them to rank all of your social media platforms in terms of success.
When you see all of this laid out before you, there’s a decision to be made. Moving forward, you need to decide if you’re going to eliminate anything from your lineup. For example, if you’re seeing no movement from Google+ whatsoever, try to figure out why that is. Are you not posting enough? Are you posting the wrong content? Are you posting at the wrong times?
Or is your audience not on that platform in large numbers?
If you find that no matter what you do, Google+ just isn’t going to deliver, then it might be time to shut down your Google+ account, or at least put less effort into it.
It’s important to feed the strong, so if you’re getting a lot of interaction on Instagram, that’s where more of your effort (and by extension, marketing budget) should be going.
When you look at all of your social media accounts side by side, you should be contrasting and comparing them to one another.
Are these accounts uniform in terms of branding?
You need to present a united front when it comes to marketing. If your Twitter account looks wildly different from your Facebook, particularly your profile and header images, that could be jarring for potential customers. You want all of your branding to blend. That includes your social media sites and your website.
Do you have access to every account?
Sometimes when an account is neglected for a long period of time, an organization could misplace the login information. It’s important that you don’t have any duplicate pages sitting out there with outdated information. If customers were to search for your business and find that page, it makes you look bad.
When auditing your social media, you also need to figure out what kind of audience you’re reaching (if any) and what kind of audience you want to reach.
You should have a good handle on your ideal customer. Are you creating content specifically with them in mind?
Information on your demographic should be included in the social media content calendar. You can set that up as a static reminder in the heading of your document. That way you never forget who you’re speaking to when creating content.
Step 2: Demographic Study
When creating social media content to go in your calendar, there are a few key questions that you need to ask.
Who are your customers?
What do they want?
Once you understand the demographics you serve, you’ll be able to create better content that is geared specifically toward their interests. Once you’ve done that, it should be a simple matter to get them to participate in discussions.
Does your existing demo differ platform by platform? You need to figure out where the eyes of your audience are. Once you know that, put more effort into placing your content there. Don’t expect your customers to come to you. You have to go to them.
All of the content in your calendar should be tailored to each platform that you’re posting on. This is not a one size fits all approach. Content created for Twitter will differ from content created for Facebook.
Once you know what your audience is looking for and where they are looking, you can create tabs in your calendar file for each specific social media site.
Step 3: Create a regular schedule
The purpose of your social media calendar is to keep your posting to a schedule. Before you can start filling out content, you first have to decide what that schedule is.
How often are you going to post? That’s a question that can only be answered by understanding your audience. You don’t want to annoy them by popping up in their feed too often.
What time will you post?
As we mentioned above, this should differ on each platform, but (in general) here’s a good place to start:
Step 4: Decide on Your Content Voice
What kind of content do you want to share? Should it be serious? Silly? Both? If you’re going to create both, what is the ratio you’re going for?
You also need to decide if you’re going to be creating posts that are designed more for engagement, and how often you are going to “shill” your products or services, if ever.
If your demographic seems open to creating user-generated content, you should invite that. Set up themed days for them to participate in. Try something like “Furry Friend Fridays,” where your Fans or Followers can post pictures of their pets.
Step 5: Create a Database of Content
Collect a library of useful articles, images, and concepts to share with your audience. Keep them in a folder and be ready to pop them into the calendar at a moment’s notice.
When you list this content, make sure that you mark any time-specific information. You don’t want to sit on a good article only to have so much time pass that it’s no longer relevant.
Step 6: Add the Content
Once you know when to post and what you’re going to post, it’s time to input all of that information into your calendar. You should have a set time where you do this every month.
For example, you could take the last week of the month to create a calendar for the next month. This ensures that you won’t forget to create the content and have to scramble to be ready for the month ahead.
Consistency is important in your preparation as well as your posting.
Step 8: Share Your Calendar
Make sure that you’re sharing your calendar with your supervisors and colleagues. That presents an opportunity to get feedback from the rest of your team.
Make adjustments to your content strategy based on calendar feedback. Sometimes it’s hard to critique yourself, and the people you work with might see things from a different perspective. Ask the sales team for advice. They speak with your audience on a more frequent basis and should have a good handle on what they’re looking for.
Helpful Tools
If you need a helping hand in getting started with your social media calendar, there are a number of online tools that you can turn to that will help you get moving in the right direction.
You’re going to want to use a pre-made template for your first calendar.
Here is a list of four templates that could help you get started.
Hubspot Template
com Template
SmartSheet Templates
Small Biz Trends Template
In Conclusion
All up and coming social media content managers need to develop a system.
And the most effective and widely-used system in play is a social media content calendar.
By inputting all of your social information ahead of time and keeping it organized, you’ll start seeing increased engagement and higher levels of brand awareness in no time.
