As a certified FF6 enjoyer I really loved the attention the characters got in OO so much. I think maybe the writers had a soft spot for a few games in particular and 6 was definitely one of them. They really captured the charming spirit of the Returners, and they were also multi-dimensional in characterization as well, which they absolutely could have been lazy with for a mobile gacha game. I think there was a lot of love put into it and I can't imagine how the team feels having the game axed before the story got a chance to finish. :(

beej should celebrate the day he came back to life and died again like you do with a birthday except instead of throwing a party he holds a funeral because he never had one since he was born already dead
like he has seen many from staying alone in the graveyard for such a long time and always wanted one because he saw all the people reunite to say nice things about the guy that passed away and showing love for them and he was like oh yes I want some of that lmao doesn't get that it's supposed to be sad...
on the contrary he's never seen a fun birthday so he doesn't care for that but he does want his funeral to have party music and refreshments and for people to dance so he pretty much wants a birthday party with eulogies he's very confused
and like... people saying nice things about him in speeches sounds very cool and great in theory until it actually happens and he has to leave the room because he doesn't want to show them he's tearing up and he kicks dirt in their eyes as he walks out

I’m so glad that Dracula Daily exists and is making one of my favorite books a culturally relevant shared activity, especially because it’s making people realize that it’s absolutely fucking bonkers

it's the way that jane gets her first taste of freedom in season one, but still spends it imprisoned and in a role where so much of her is demanded physically and mentally. the scene especially in season one episode seven, when they're all around joyce's dining table and they're talking about her like she's a machine. and she is off in the bathroom, looking at herself in the mirror, crying because she can't help these people. a twelve year old girl who has never been outside in her life, crying because she's letting these strangers down... and they're doing absolutely nothing to help her along with it.
mike: but she's drained.
dustin: like a bad battery.
joyce: well, how do we make her better?
mike: we don't. we just have to wait and try again.
nancy: well, how long?!
i know it's all well and good when joyce tells her that she's right there for her when jane enters the void, tells her she is brave. but they are all for the most part willing to sacrifice her to get will back. and i understand joyce is his mum, of course, but it doesn't justify the way jane is treated and spoken about like she isn't even there. joyce should be on her hands and knees thanking jane for traumatising herself to find her son. and hopper literally selling her out to the hawkins lab people, putting her back in brenner's custody don't even get me startedddd. like she isn't a little girl, like she matters less than will does. she is basically treated like a metal detector for the better part of the season. i understand that no time could really be wasted in terms of finding will, but if even one of them had asked her how she felt, if she needed to take a break, it would have meant all the difference. she would have pushed herself regardless, but at least it would have shown that not only will mattered in this instance.
