Cada 9 de noviembre se conmemora el Día Internacional contra el Fascismo y el Antisemitismo, una efeméride que pretende dar a conocer que el fascismo y el antisemitismo en la actualidad continúan atentando contra las minorías raciales, étnicas y religiosas.

Asimismo, rememora los hechos acontecidos en Alemania y Austria en el año 1938, denominado la "Noche de los Cristales Rotos".

Con la celebración de este Día Internacional se ejerce una enérgica protesta contra cualquier acción racista y discriminatoria, haciendo un llamamiento al respeto a la diversidad de pensamiento y las minorías.

La Kristallnacht

La Kristallnacht o La Noche de los Cristales Rotos fue un hecho antisemita coordinado por el régimen nazi contra las personas de origen judío, durante la noche del 9 de noviembre de 1938.

La denominación de este ataque obedece a que los vidrios de los aparadores de los negocios se hicieron añicos después de los ataques violentos coordinados por los líderes nazis, con el apoyo de Adolfo Hitler.

Durante la noche del 9 de noviembre, ordenaron a los miembros de los grupos paramilitares del Partido Nazi (las SS, las SA y las Juventudes Hitlerianas) el ataque a las comunidades judías. Incendiaron sinagogas y destrozaron negocios, causando daños en cementerios y casas de judíos.

Cientos de judíos murieron durante la Kristallnacht, mientras que miles de ellos fueron heridos y encarcelados, para luego ser enviados a los campos de concentración.

Este hecho se convirtió en el inicio del mayor hecho de genocidio más conocido de la historia de la humanidad: el Holocausto.

El Fascismo y el Antisemitismo en la actualidad

En la actualidad se observa el incremento de los movimientos racistas, fascistas y neonazis en toda Europa. Los neonazis acechan y agreden a personas de cualquier clase social, género, religión y nacionalidad restringiendo sus libertades fundamentales: migrantes, romaníes, activistas LGBTQ, musulmanes, judíos, personas con discapacidades y otras minorías.

Los neonazis y los fascistas de varios países europeos efectúan mítines y actividades en las calles que incitan al odio, contra las comunidades de minorías raciales, étnicas y de otra índole.

Por otra parte, algunos movimientos de extrema derecha también tienen un brazo parlamentario, usando el dinero público y el poder gubernamental para controlar los medios de comunicación e imponer cambios autocráticos en las constituciones de sus países.

¿Cómo se celebra este día internacional?

En la celebración del Día Internacional contra el Fascismo y el Antisemitismo miembros de la red UNITED y activistas de toda Europa organizan acciones para movilizar a la sociedad civil, a fin de que asuma una posición firme ante el fascismo, el racismo, el sexismo y el odio basados en una creencia religiosa.
