I hope you know that your F/O doesn't judge you. They don't comment on your body or your eating habits. Whether you're overweight, underweight, or at a normal weight. Regardless of how you feel in your body, your F/O loves you the way you are. They wouldn't "prefer" you at a specific weight. Your body is the shell you're inside of, so they are gentle with it and love it. Always.

Your F/O doesn't force you to eat more or less. They gently encourage you perhaps, but even if that's too much, they just want to make sure you're okay. They remind you to drink plenty, to rest when your body is struggling, and they ask you what they can help you with. How they can support you. That's what they want the most.

Your F/O recognizes that you're struggling. They don't blame you. They don't get angry or impatient with you. They don't try to scare you. They don't feel disgusted by you. Not even when you binge, not even when you purge, not even when your health suffers. Instead, they do their best to comfort you in the way you need it. They wipe your tears and stay by your side. They ask you to be gentle with yourself, for them, and for you.

All they want for you is to be okay, to be gentle with yourself, your body and mind. And maybe at some point, when you choose recovery, they want to celebrate with you and help you on your healing journey.

Selfship Vocabulary Guide!

Selfship: To ship yourself or a self-insert with a character, whether it be platonic, romantic, or familial.

Yume/Yumeship: A different word for selfship. Short for yumejoshi (feminine), yumedanshi (masculine), or yumejin (gender-neutral).

F/O or Fictional Other: A character that you ship yourself with.

S/i or Self-Insert: A character you created that represents yourself in the world of a series, movie, book, video game, etc. They usually (but not always) have similar personality and features to their creator.

Romantic F/Os: Fictional characters that you feel a strong romantic attraction to. You may imagine yourself being in a relationship with them.

Familial F/Os: Fictional characters that you feel are like your family. This could be characters you consider your parents, siblings, kids, etc.

Platonic F/Os: Fictional characters that you consider to be your friends or feel a platonic love towards.

OC x Canon: Shipping an original character such as a self insert with a canon character in their world.

Canon x Canon: Shipping two canon characters with each other. This may be canon in the story or not. Many selfshippers feel uncomfortable seeing their F/O in these ships.

Y/N or Your Name: Mostly used in fan fictions, it’s meant for you to insert your name into the story like a self-insert.

Comfort Character: A character that can bring somebody comfort without self inserting.

Doubles or shared: F/Os that you and another person may have that are the same character

Sharing NG: “Sharing Not Good” this person is uncomfortable with sharing their F/Os or interacting with people that have the same ones
