My AEW Revolution 2024 Predictions
I am so excited for this ppv and I have to much energy on myself so, deal with it
Tumblr media
Tornado Tag Match Sting's Last Match - Darby Allin & Sting (AEW Tag Team Champions) VS Golf Trainers- oh sorry- AEW EVP'S Matthew & Nicholas Jackson
Let's start with the cherry on the top, I am so ready to cry on this match, even knowing that most likely Sting will appear again on AEW but not wrestling again
But for sure, 100% that the not Young Bucks anymore will win this match - I mean if its Sting's last match will Darby defend both belts alone?? I mean he is capable of it. but come on, one last match of this amazing tag team against the non Young Bucks is the perfect finish for this era
AEW WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP - Samoa Joe (C) VS Swerve Strickland VS Hangman Adam Page
Everyone is imagining that it will Swerve versus Hangman and Samoa Joe will be like third wheeling or something like that
this one will be pretty intense both men fighting for the gold and Samoa Joe defending it
I really want Swerve to win it but I think Samoa Joe will retain it, I mean it's the first ppv that he defends it
AEW WOMEN'S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP - "Timeless" Toni Storm (C) VS Deonna Purrazo
Besides the Zero Hour one with Kris and Willow versus Julia Hart and Skye Blue, this is the only women´s match on the ppv..........come on AEW, your women's division is so freaking powerful and you still don´t know how to properly promoted, and we are on the International Women's month, come on......
I think Deonna Purrazo will win it for sure, but if Toni retains it I am so excited to see how this feud will keep going, because this feud was so well played, I am more than seated for this match
AEW INTERNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP - Orange Cassidy (C) VS Roderick Strong
It has to be Orange Cassidy, if it isn´t I will shave my eyebrows
Roderick Strong is being too annoying for Orange it has to be our denim and thumbs up man
AEW CONTINENTAL CROWN CHAMPIONSHIP - Eddie Kingston (C) VS Bryan Danielson
I am a bit uncertain with this one, but I think Eddie will retain it
and what an hell of a match this will be
Will Ospreay VS Konosuke Takeshita
another one that I am have no clue too who might win
but I guess Will Ospreay
TNT CHAMPIONSHIP - (Pro Pokemon Hunter) Christian Cage (C) VS Daniel Garcia
I am so excited for this one
But still for how much I would like to see Daniel with the gold, I am 100% sure that the Patriarchy will mess with this match
But its more than time for Daniel to be a champion (again)
FTR VS Jon Moxley & Claudio Castagnoli
I am also unsure about this one, just to be different
But I think Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli will win it
ALL STAR 8-MAN SCRAMBLE - Dante Martin VS HOOK (FTW Champion) VS Brian Cage VS Magnus VS Chris Jericho VS Powerhouse Hobbs VS Brian Cage VS Wardlow
yes I am pretty HOOK biased but I dont think he will win this one, even tho I am an huge fan of this fighting big dudes agenda
also 2/5 of the Lads fighting each other
also 3/5 of Team Taz fighting each other
I think it will be more between Hobbs and Wardlow for sure, after yesterday's Collision
Zero Hour: Kris Statlander & Willow Nightingale VS Julia Hart (TBS Champion) & Skye Blue
I am so excited for this one!!!
I think it will be Kris and Willow, in my mind if it Julia and Skye Blue, I think Willow will possibly turn on Kris idk why
Zero Hour: 12 MAN TAG MATCH - Bang Bang Scissor Gang VS Jeff Jarrett, Jay Lethal, Satnam Singh, Private Party & Willie Mack
Come on it has to be Bang Bang Scissor Gang because they are Bang Bang Scissor Gang!!!!!!!!!
Tumblr media
Anyway, what do you guys think?? Pls talk to me-

Dreambook bonanza from Sara! How I want to see the belt picture go from now until Double or Nothing. This one is like a thousand words so...under the cut we go! Credit to @sarahcakes613 for their "but what if Joe and Hanger?" which has lived rent free in my noggin for months, and also because they came up with a lot of the players. Tagging @scissormedaddyass as well.
The Devils attacked Hangman, but Joe also accused Hangman and brought attention to him for MJF. This implies, to me, that it was all linked and intended. Hanger is in a lifelong feud with Cole, from what I can tell. They’re going to circle around each other forever. But Joe – Samoa Joe is like a wall in the way of Hangman’s progress. He showed up before Hanger could really go after Max. He’s the one who drew attention to Hangman and got him beat up.
So, when Hanger comes back, he knows who he wants to go after.
Cole is smart: he’s calculated, conniving, manipulative. There’s even a chance he hoped all of this would happen. He knew, with how injured Max was, that Joe would beat Max, with a tiny bit of distraction from him as Cole and him as the Devil. But he also knows that, realistically, he himself can’t beat Samoa Joe.
So he goads Hangman into it. Hangman, who is constantly trying to prove himself. Hangman, who lost the belt in a way that broke him a little. Hangman, who has been dancing on the edge of the void for months now. Hangman, who can beat Joe with his strategic strength and skill, but who can be psychologically manipulated by Cole. It’s an easy first match back in the ring, in Cole’s eyes. He lost to Hangman twice, yes. But he’s a new man now. He’s different.
The feud builds until they announce a Hangman/Joe main event at Revolution. Cole goads Hangman the whole time: you’re not strong enough, you’re not big enough, you’re not bad enough. He’s already getting under Hangman’s skin. It’ll be like taking candy from a baby – he won’t even have to wait to strike until Double or Nothing, after Joe beats Hangman at Revolution. Happy Easter to him.
Swerve is lurking in the background, finishing his rise to the top. He beats high level names on the roster for a few weeks, then turns his eye on the BCC. First, he beats Bryan Danielson. He beats Yuta. He beats Claudio, and that’s when he makes his claim. Revolution. Swerve vs. Mox. He will get his win back. And then he is going after the title, no matter who wins. He not so secretly hopes it’s Hangman. He can psychologically manipulate Hangman. Joe doesn’t seem like he’d be easy to take down, physically or emotionally, but Hangman. God, he’s so easy for Swerve, isn’t he.
Hangman vs. Joe is brutal and vicious, with Cole and the Devils lurking (Cole said it’s to help Joe win, but Cole is always a liar). Hangman, with surprise intervention from Cole that could be viewed as an accident by a man less astute than Samoa Joe, is victorious. Hanger’s win is gold dipped in blood – he won, but at what cost? It’s the first major win of his with interference. He’s not as affected by that as he knows he should be.
Cole, finally healed and ring ready, steps up to Hangman the Dynamite after Revolution. He’s challenging for the belt. And he will get it. We get a rematch sometime at the end of March/beginning of April. Cole underestimated this new Hangman, though. Last time they fought in April Hangman couldn’t cheat.
This time, he hits Cole in the face with the belt, and smiles through his victory. Cole is a picture of shock as Hangman’s music starts and his hand is raised.
This is not how it was supposed to go.
Cole is carted away by his Devils. He has been thwarted. He has been beaten. He has been out cheated by the golden boy.
Swerve, on the next Dynamite, comes out on the ramp during Hangman’s in ring promo, and just stares. The room goes silent. For the first time since facing Kenny, there’s a hint of fear in Hangman’s eyes.
Swerve throws bait at Hangman during the next few Dynamites – it’s clear he’s going to challenge for Double or Nothing, but he just won’t say it. Hangman gets more and more brutal as he takes out Kaun, Toa, Cage, a jobber or two.
It’s the Dynamite before Double or Nothing. Hangman stands victorious over his latest conquest, but he doesn’t look comfortable. He doesn’t look certain. He doesn’t look like a self-assured champion.
“I told you a long time ago, Hangman,” comes a voice, echoing around the arena, “I’m here to take your spot. Double or Nothing, you will lose your belt. And I will be the AEW World Champion.”
Hangman’s music is still going, but it now sounds ominous. He looks down at the belt in his hands, and is finally worried about what might happen next.
At Double or Nothing, Swerve uses the psychological tactics to beat Hangman. But he doesn’t make the mistakes Cole and Joe made; no, he’s been watching. He’s seen what didn’t work in the past, he’s figured out where Hangman’s truest weaknesses are.
Swerve baits Hangman with echoes of his losses in the past. A mockery of a GTS. An intentionally missed Buckshot. After the ref is distracted by the Bucks, who were trying to slip Hanger the belt to win, Swerve intervenes and takes it from Matt’s panicked hands. Swerve hands Hangman the belt and encourages him. “Go ahead,” Swerve says. “Prove how bad you are.”
Hangman uses it. And Swerve doesn’t even stagger. He takes the belt from Hanger’s hands, throws it out of the ring, and takes him down by the knee.
Swerve wins without a shadow of a doubt, taking Hangman out with a killshot. He wins clean. And Hangman continues his tradition of losing at Double or Nothing.
Finally, Swerve has his belt. He got there because, truly, he is the best. On the mic. In the ring. But, most of all, he lives rent free in everybody’s heads. He made a home there, a home in AEW, and now it’s all his.

Adam Cole reveal as the Devil was perfect. Here's hoping he goes back to his old ROH heel theme
youtube
Final World's End thoughts
The women were allowed more than one match per card and more than 5 minutes. Maybe there's hope for this division yet.
Can't wait to see Andrade facing Santos lol(we all know he's going back after tonight)
Honestly don't really care for Yuta or Hook.
BCC vs the job squad was decent
Toni Storm deserves a raise for carrying this division on her back
Swerve lost the CC only to fucking not get the match that was advertised? I swear this feud is cursed. I understand Keith has been hurt for a long time, but why even build up to it if one of the men could not compete? Don't force your wrestlers to work hurt.
Don't care for a match full of sex pests. Sting and Ricky deserved better than this fucking horseshit
Oh joy, boring Adam is champion. *snores* what's that Christian is champion again *wakes up*
Mox and Eddie had sex, not a match. But Eddie deserves his moment in the sun
Finally Samoa Joe is getting the respect he deserves and a perfect reveal to this whole Devil saga
Here's my pitch for Jack Perry. He comes in as the prodigal son. Adam gets his rematch. Nick and Shayna are barred from ringside. Eventually Adam gets the upper hand and it looks like he's going to win and someone smashes Adam's head in with real glass hits Adam with a Canadian destroyer. Christian gets the win. the masked man takes off his mask and reveals himself to be Jack Perry. The prodigal son returns.

i have revolution predictions and i must scream
julia hart & skye blue vs. kris statlander & willow nightingale (zero hour): kris and willow are winning this one i think. i feel it in my bones that happen to be incorrect 9 times out of 10 but whatever.
orange cassidy vs. roderick strong (international championship): i don't think oc is retaining fellas .. whether it be due to interference or what, hes not keeping the belt i'm afraid. they've built the undisputed kingdom up (kinda) as these guys who were Absolutely going to get those belts and i see it. sucks
ftr vs. bcc: bcc. nothing more. bcc.
will ospreay vs. konosuke takeshita: i feel like will is gonna win this one purely because i don't think aew would let him lose his first match officially signed ?? if it wasn't for that, i would bet takeshita tbh. i hope this match gets them both out of the don callis family; will didn't seem too Excited about don callis disrupting his moment, despite it being "good" yknow.. get out of there bbgs
christian cage vs. daniel garcia: fuck okay i Want DG to win but. if adam copeland is for-real out and not able to be part of revolution, i don't think hes gonna win it. christian cage will retain and when adam copeland comes back, their feud will pick up. or! hey! maybe they'll move onto a DG/adam copeland feud. i would love that shit ouuuh
eddie kingston vs. bryan danielson: eddie is absolutely retaining and i can't explain my prediction, it just feels right lmao love bryan but its not happening.
toni storm vs. deonna purrazzo: toni storm is retaining and hopping into a feud-ish with mariah may at one point or another that results in mariah may getting the gold. hopping waaay into the future, but the way theyre building it up.. hm. questionable. OR if deonna does win, i see mariah may being the one who ruins toni's chance of retaining, maybe? mariah is obviously head over heels in love with toni and maybe its too soon to do her big "betrayal", i don't know. either way i'm so excited for this match its CRAZYY
samoa joe vs. hangman page vs. swerve strickland: this is the only match i don't think anyone can guess the outcome of like. samoa joe hasn't been a champ for very long, hangman is DEAD SET on not letting swerve be the new champ, and swerve has been built up to be this crazy loved star, despite his extreme heel tendencies its a lot !! but i do kinda feel like joe will retain. its either joe or swerve - or, fuck it, maybe a time limit draw. i don't think they'd do that, though. i am hoping swerve wins, but at the same time, i want joe to retain. tough choices. the build up to this match has been nuts and so so entertaining, maybe the best part of aew lately.
sting & darby allin vs. young bucks: damn i just realized sting and darby never got a tag name LMAO anyways, the bucks are winning this one. obviously. OBVIOUSLY. i'm excited for this match too purely because sting and darby have talked about how theyre going all out for it and its like. how much more can you do that you havent already done? theyre gonna bbq the bucks yall.. i can see them losing the belts here and darby turning heel after (-his trip up mount everest) said fact because maybe he'd blame himself for the loss in kayfabe or what have you, i think the aftermath is gonna hit, especially if you really like darby, but this match is also gonna be crazy emotional from start to finish and i hope sting appears every now and then after :")
whatever it may be, i know this ppv is gonna Fuck. bless up

DYNAMITE 1/11/23
DAMMIT, MAX!
Tumblr media
Firstly, we need to address something here, and its Matt Taven’s wonderful giraffe hoodie. Maybe down the line, Taven, can use a kick, and call it the giraffe kick. Then we can get a Giraffe kick vs. Kangaroo kick match. These aren’t just beautiful fingers typing these words you know.
The big question of the night was, who will MJF choose as his tag team partners?
We had a surprise appearance from Adam Cole via virtual call. He thinks Max should pick Samoa Joe as his partner, but Max is fond of this idea. The Man in the Devil Mask would interrupt the broadcast as his presence was looming over the show. Since the attack on Jay White, has this masked individual done anything else besides pop up on our screens? He needs to do something a lot more threatening.
Orange Cassidy defended his International Title against Claudio Castagnoli in a great opening match. Claudio showed off his impressive strength throughout. At one point he put Orange into a chokehold and swung him around. Orange won with a beautiful hurricanrana. The celebration was short lived as Jon Moxley returned to give Cassidy a beating. This sets up Orange Cassidy vs. Jon Moxley at Full Gear, and it also looks like a feud between with Wheeler Yuta and Hook is starting.
The ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship’s were on the line as The Young Bucks/Adam Page defended against The Mogul Embassy. I really didn’t care for this match. I’ve said it before, the ROH titles should stay on Ring of Honor. I mean, I can’t even tell you who the other wrestlers were outside of Brian Cage. To my surprise, my prayers were answered. The belts are off the Bucks and Page, and the belts can return to the show where belong on. Page chased after Swerve Strickland as the two will meet at Full Gear. Matt was very upset after the loss and took it out on inanimate object's. Later on, The Bucks would take out their frustrations on Kenny Omega as they were not afraid to remind Omega of Jericho's past. Kenny as some work to do to get his friends and Jericho on the same page.
Daddy Magic/Cool Ange fought Jericho/Omega later on. Callis was on commentary with his family beh-WAIT, is that Kyle Flecher? Did I miss something? I thought Don kicked him out of the faction. Anyway, this match was short, so we could get to the meat of the story. In two weeks, it will be Kyle/Hobbs/Takeshita, taking on Jericho/Omega and…Paul Wright, in a Street Fight. I joked that it would be Wright last week, but I think he will work well in a Street Fight. I know some people will take issue with him being used, but I like when Paul is used like a beast.
Adam Copeland finally speared Christian Cage, after his former friend promised to snap his neck and leave him in a wheelchair for the rest of his life. I still think Adam will come out of Full Gear as a heel, even though I didn’t expect him to lay his hands on Christian tonight.
Tony Khan makes rare appearance on TV to make another big announcement. It feels like these announcements are a bit excessive at this point. The reveal here is that AEW will be returning to the UK at Wembley Stadium next year. I didn’t get a chance this year to go , so I might just buy a ticket come December 1st.
Hikaru Shida defended her title in very good bout against Willow Nightingale. As I wrote previously, Shida had poor matches last week, and I’m glad to see her back on form. Julia Hart appeared post match to lure Willow, but Skye Blue came out and turned full heel, but it's a trick! She is actually a babyface. She misted Julia with the blue mist. Unfortunately she missed her face and her neck.
After some backstage segments, it's revealed that The Acclaimed will be MJF's partners against The Golden Elite. MJF wore Acclaimed inspired gear decked out with a pink burberry scarf. The match was about MJF getting his hands on White and getting his belt back, while Max Caster wanted to scissor MJF. I thought at this point, MJF would get his belt back, but lost when he was pinned by White. Post match, Caster took a title shot to the head from White as he pushed MJF out of the way. This led to a reluctant Maxwell scissoring The Acclaimed.
The show set up a few matches for Full Gear. Outside of that, you got the payoff with MJF teaming with The Acclaimed. I was expecting a bit more from this show, but I'll see where some of the stories end up before diving into any real major criticism.

I don't fucking know man. ranting
I cannot word my feelings and thoughts about the talks of antisemitism in wrestling in an articulate way ever bc some white convert Jewish person is gonna think they got the upper hand on me in the Oppression Olympics about talking on how it's like to grow up a minority and that I can't speak on something I've extensively spoken about, watched happen, etc.
but what I can try to say is that if you speak on antisemitism right now in anyway but don't show any level support of Palestine (IDFK just reblog like one thing. at all. ever.). I'm going to think you're a Zionist. because Israel is a state built on Islamophobia and racism.
And I don't care about a stupid TV program, ultimately. I don't judge you if you find escapism in wrestling. I do too, sometimes. but I can't turn off the real world personally. even for a minute.
but man. some of you are so blatant in showing a blind eye to brown and black people. most of you don't even like non-white wrestlers unless you can sexualize them! most of you didn't even call Samoa Joe hot until MJF made fun of his appearance! you didn't give a shit about Swerve until he feuded with Hangman! And even THEN you aren't understanding his point about being a talented black athlete who deserves the same chances as his white coworkers who get shot after shot and get spotlighted for basically doing nothing half the time. and then all you CAN do is sexualize him!! you can't even recognize his talent in addition to his attractiveness. all of you get real weird about Jade Cargill being very sexy and muscular and powerful and "step on me mommy" but don't even bat an eye at Nyla Rose having been the first trans woman to hold a major TV title, as well as being the first black AND native title holder at AEW.
more than half of you wouldn't even think the quarters thing was some kinda "hate crime" unless MJF talked about it. most of you don't even know anyone who is Jewish and has had pennies thrown at them and slurs hurled. mocked about wearing kippahs/yarmukles, being asked WHY don't they if they're Jewish. do you know what an Ashkenazi Jew is compared to others? what's the difference between Orthodox vs Reform vs Conservative? do you know what an ethnoreligion is? name a holiday that isn't Hanukkah. how many can you make? explain to me why the cheap TJ Maxx ring is just as, if not MORE, antisemitic than the quarters.
none of you will ever ever ever defend a non-white person the way you defend white men.

Samoa Joe vs. Swerve Strickland - Joe is defending the AEW men's world championship. These two already met in a three-way for the title on March 3, but since Joe tapped out Adam Page in that match, he still has unfinished business with Strickland.
When Swerve started chasing the title, I figured he'd lose to Joe and move back down the card for 6-12 months, to get heated up for a real run on top. By the end of February, it was pretty clear this guy has It and a lot of people were going to be disappointed if he didn't win the big one ASAP. I figured he wouldn't lose the fall on March 3, but I never imagined they'd give him another shot this quickly. On top of that, the build feels like Swerve has to win this time. They've done all the little things that will make it super disappointing if he can't close the deal. It feels too early to take the belt off Joe, but I don't know if they can get away with denying Strickland again.
If Joe is going to retain, they'll really have to pull out all the stops. Joe cannot beat Swerve clean--that would be promotional malpractice at this point. You'd need a huge surprise run-in to keep fans from totally hating a Swerve loss. Maybe if Adam Page returns to renew his endless feud with Swerve. Maybe if MJF returns to get revenge on Joe. Maybe if Jack Perry clips Swerve's knee before the match, and the 101st Airborne hold him down for the three-count. But even with all that, I wouldn't want to be the guy booking Swerve to lose tonight, and facing the media after the show.
Even so, I can't quite convince myself Swerve is actually going to win the world title. I'm so used to pro wrestling dicking us around with these things, and making us wait past the peak. So even though I think the finish should be a foregone conclusion, I'm gonna be on the edge of my seat for every near-fall. Should be good times.
Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson vs. Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler - This is the final match in a 10-team tournament for the AEW tag team championship, which was vacated by Sting and Darby Allin after Sting retired. It's also a ladder match, so the title belts will be hung above the ring, and ladders will be provided at ringside for the wrestlers to climb; the first man to pull down the belts wins the match and the title for his team. Both teams have held the title twice before; whichever team wins here will become the first 3-time AEW tag team champions.
This will be the fourth two-on-two match between the Young Bucks (Matt and Nick) and FTR (Dax and Cash). FTR leads the series 2-1 after their last encounter on August 31. The Bucks recently claimed that they only lost that match because they were distracted by the infamous CM Punk/Jack Perry incident, and insinuated that FTR planned it somehow.
I would like to think this match could be the last final word on making cutesy references to CM Punk drama. I'd like to think that, but the Bucks have an approach to heel heat that lends itself to beating dead horses and not being terribly subtle about it. That will probably take the match down a peg. I'm not sure which team will win, but it feels inevitable that Jack Perry will run in to help the Bucks, and I don't see FTR coming up with a counter for that. So I guess I'm picking the Bucks.
Will Ospreay vs. Bryan Danielson - Danielson is winding down his career by wrestling all his dream matches, and brother he got himself a good one here. I figure these two will tear the house down. Other than that there isn't a whole lot of story here, except that the Don Callis Family may or may not have any confidence in their man Ospreay to win, and the Blackpool Combat Club is getting sick of the Don Callis Family. It's only a matter of time before Callis turns on Will, but I'm not sure it'll happen tonight. I'm cautiously picking Ospreay to win, but I can't rule out a Danielson victory.
Toni Storm vs. Thunder Rosa - Storm is putting the AEW women's world title on the line. This match was supposed to happen waaay back in September 2022, with Storm challenging Rosa for the title, but Rosa was sidelined with a back injury. Since then Storm has become a three-time champion, and gone off the deep end with her current "old-timey movie starlet" gimmick.
I always wanted Rosa to come back and get a shot at the title she never lost. But now that we're here, I'm a bit concerned. Rosa's matches since her return haven't wowed me--although to be fair, they've mostly been squash matches. I just don't get the sense she's as hot now as she was a couple of years ago, and it feels like Storm has passed her by and lapped her a few times. I can't help thinking Rosa isn't going to look good here, but I hope I'm wrong. In any case, Storm should probably retain.
Kazuchika Okada vs. PAC - Okada is making his first defense of the AEW continental title. Per the rules for this title, there will be no one allowed at ringside. Pac is cool and he'll give us a great match. But, dude, c'mon. Okada just got here, and he's still on that "new guy wins all the time" streak. I learned a long time ago not to bet against Okada.
Mark Briscoe & Adam Copeland & Eddie Kingston vs. Malakai Black & Brody King & Buddy Matthews - Briscoe lent a hand when FTR and Daniel Garcia were feuding with the House of Black, and ever since then he's been feuding with the House of Black. Lucky for him they've also managed to piss off Copeland and Kingston. It was only a couple of weeks ago that Mark and Eddie beat the hell out of each other over the ROH men's world title, but this time they're on the same side.
Briscoe's superteam looks like more than a match for the House of Black, so it'd be easy to pick them to win. But the fact each of the babyfaces has a singles title makes me wonder if it'd be better for the heels to win to set up three new challengers down the line. I could be overthinking it, but something tells me the House will win here.
Roderick Strong vs. Kyle O'Reilly - This is for Strong's AEW international title. These two used to be teammates within Adam Cole's Undisputed Era faction in NXT. Then O'Reilly and Cole were buddies in AEW in 2022, until they both got sidelined with injuries. By the time O'Reilly returned, Strong was in AEW as a part of Cole's Undisputed Kingdom faction, and it seemed logical for Kyle to join up. Instead O'Reilly chose to go it alone, and I guess Roddy didn't appreciate that, so here we go. I think O'Reilly has a fair chance of winning the title, but it seems too early to take it off Strong, so I'll go with him to retain.
Julia Hart vs. Willow Nightingale - Willow won a four-way match for the right to challenge Julia for the AEW TBS title. Mercedes Mone has already issued a challenge to the winner of this match for May 26. Meanwhile someone has been sneak attacking both Mone and Willow, which sure suggests Julia is behind it but I bet it's someone else.
So I think both these women are super cool and awesome, and this is one of those matches where I just hope everybody has a good time. But let's get down to brass tacks. I really want to see Julia step up and defend the title against Mone. I know, I know, the backstory is already in place for Mone vs. Nightingale, and that's cool too, and if I had to put money on it that's the match that will happen. But...I gotta root for my girl Julia here. Sorry Willow.
HOOK vs. Chris Jericho - Hook already beat Jericho last month, but this time he's putting his FTW title on the line, so there will be no count-outs or disqualifications. Jericho wanted to mentor Hook, but he got too pushy about it and Hook decided there's nothing Jericho can teach him.
I'm 99% sure the point of this match is for Jericho to win the title, whereby Hook will realize he underestimated Jericho's cunning. The problem is that "FTW champion Jericho" would be a retread of "FTW champion Jack Perry" and "ROH champion Jericho." Everything about this storyline feels like a rehash of previous Jericho storylines in AEW. So I hope Hook wins to put an end to it, but I don't expect to get that lucky.
Anthony Bowens & Max Caster & Billy Gunn vs. Jay White & Austin Gunn & Colten Gunn - This is scheduled for the pre-show. It's a unification match for the AEW trios title (held by Billy and the Acclaimed) and the ROH trios title (held by Jay and the Gunns). I assume the winners will keep the AEW belts and the ROH belts will be retired. I have been looking forward to this, because I have long felt that AEW absolutely does not need two trios titles (unless Julia Hart and Skye Blue find a cool chick to be their spooky friend).
Austin and Colten turned on their father and the Acclaimed in 2022, and joined Jay White's Bullet Club Gold back in June. The two groups reconciled and joined forces in January, but within a few months White and the Gunns showed their true colors again.
Throughout this storyline I've been expecting Billy and the Acclaimed to prevail in the end. But now that we're in the eleventh hour I'm having second thoughts. I could see either team losing and moving out of the trios division altogether. And I think it's high time Caster and Bowens get back in the hunt for the tag title. So I think I've talked myself into picking the Bang Bang Gang.
Orange Cassidy & Katsuyori Shibata vs. Shane Taylor & Lee Moriarty - Another pre-show match. Shane Taylor Promotions really put a beating to Cassidy on April 17. Since Trent Beretta turned on Orange and Chuck Taylor is injured (and we don't know where his loyalties lie), Cassidy is running low on friends to help him in situations like this. Shibata seems like a strong partner to bring in, and a month ago I'd have said the faces win this one easy. But Taylor's group seems to be starting to get a push, so they might surprise you here...
Trent Beretta vs. Matt Sydal - More pre-show stuff. When Shane Taylor Promotions was beating up Orange Cassidy, Trent ran in just to take out anybody else who tried to run in and help Orange. What a dick. Anyway, he laid out one guy so fast I didn't even see who it was, and I guess it was Sydal. Sydal is going to lose pretty hard here.

Tonight is the night!!! God the card for dynasty is so fucking stacked literally the only one I’m like eww no is Jericho and even then I’d be fine if he was on zero hour but whatever. Anyway time for me to make my winner predictions of who I want vs what I think is booked to win
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Zero hour
Let’s start with Trent vs Matt sydal: I’d love to see Trent lose because I’m a Yuta girl and Trent should always lose lol. But more than likely especially cause of the best friend breakup storyline Trent would need the win far more and it would make sense for him to win over Matt who involved himself in the feud and helped orange.
Orange and shibata Vs Shane taylor promotions: it’s orange and shibata even if Anthony cheats and gets involved I can’t see orange and shibata losing ohhh unless Trent’s match actually does go first and he causes orange to lose… seems like a lot for a buy in though
The acclaimed vs bullet club gold: THIS SHOULD BE ON THE MAIN CARD!!! How tf is the unification of the two actual company belts not be put on the main card the actual FUCK!!! Tk I hope your pillow is never cool. I want BCG to win they’re fun, they’re entertaining, they’ll be insufferable as double champs, they will have a feud with anyone. Thanks to the win on dynamite though I think it’s gonna be the acclaimed who will be booked to win and make all the belts useless because they’re never on tv they have zero feuds going on and caster will continue to be a cunt online.
Main card time
Jericho vs hook: this should be on the pre show the ftw belt is not legitimate and there’s been no real build for this they didn’t even have beef until Wednesday. Anyway I wanna see Hook win cause Jericho needs to go far away but I feel like Jericho booked himself to win to hold the ftw belt and will probably have a run in from Sammy.
Rated R chicken Kings vs house of black: I have no idea if that’s their name they have no name and I love them for it lol Eddie and mark should never suffer losses ever actually. Plus it’s a team of champions sorry HOB
Julia vs willow: I think with the storyline and Mercedes and Julia’s injuries we’re getting a title change. Julia wasn’t a bad champ at all and honestly made the tbs title a big deal it just sucks she got injured and couldn’t be on tv every week fighting. Willow will be a great champion and Julia can still be spooky and get involved.
Okada va pac: okada stole Eddie’s belt no one should beat him but Eddie in my humble simp opinion.
The young bucks vs ftr: if the fucking bucks lose again I will be cursing tk to lose all the hair on his head and grow it out of his nose and asshole. The bucks shoulda NEVER loss at Wembley and they need their win back. Especially after seeing the video nope evps win hire me as the ref I’ll make sure to count correctly
Kyle vs rodrick: I know with the whole never able to pivot and the Adam and mjf injury thing we haven’t been able to do the Undisputed Kingdom storyline like everyone wanted but let it GO! Give Kyle his win give Kyle the belt give Kyle the fucking WORLD okay my beautiful sad eyed air guitar boo boo kitty man gets it all.
Toni storm vs thunder Rosa: the way I need Toni to go berserk on Rosa but also for deonna to get involved in a if I can’t beat her I’ll be damned you will story beat. Personally the only person who should dethrone Toni is Mariah and she’s not ready yet.
Will Vs Bryan: is it too early to call this match of the night i mean we all know that it’s gonna be right? Personally I’d love to see Bryan take the win prove he’s still the best (make zacks win that much more legitimate) and piss off don that his golden goose lost (3 days before his other teams loss when mox spanks Hobbs) and drive more a wedge between don and will forcing Kyle to make a choice (not my brain jumping right back to cakeys will Claudio Kyle fic high key rec)But this is tk and wills first PPV as a full time aew worker it’s probably gonna be him
Samoa Joe Vs Swerve Strickland: OUR FIRST EVER BLACK AEW MENS WORLD CHAMPION!!!!!!

It feels a little soon to have Swerve vs Samoa Joe again unless Swerve is going to win, but it also still feels too soon to take the title off Joe when he defeated the longest reigning champion. Wonder if we see Hangman return to cost Swerve tonight. Konosuke vs Joe as a quick feud would be fun.

Thoughts on the AEW Revolution 2024 card:
The Young Bucks vs Sting and Darby Allin - I will be genuinely surprised if Sting and Darby win this match. I can see a reason to have them win and just have them relinquish the belts on Dynamite or something, but there would be no better way for the Bucks to cement themselves as Terrible People than by fucking on Sting and getting the belts.
Orange Cassidy vs Roderick Strong. While I have been enjoying OC as the Enternal International Champion, I think Roddy needs to win this to help legitimate Undisputed Kingdom as an actual faction to care about. I maintain some of the issues with the credibility of the group will be reduced once Adam Cole is able to actually go out there and do more than sit.
Samoa Joe vs Hangman Adam Page vs Swerve Strickland. It will suck if Hangman is unable to actually be there for the match (since reports are that there's some sort of "personal issue" that may impact this, which is why they did the foot thing). That said, regardless, I feel like Joe should retain. If it's all three of them, it perfectly sets up HangMAD being too caught up in trying keep Swerve from winning that he ends up also not winning.
Toni Storm vs Deonna Purrazzo. This match will probably be great. Deonna is great. Toni is great. I feel like the most likely outcome is some sort of fucky finish that allows Toni to retain. Although I wouldn't be surprised if it backfires and Deonna wins-- since that could feasibly set up a Toni/Mariah feud.
Eddie Kingston vs Bryan Danielson. I want Eddie to win. I always want Eddie to win. I think there's a solid case to be made for Bryan winning. However, I also think that Bryan's apparent refusal allow himself to be booked to win a title, and how hard he's going with the "Eddie is a bum and I don't respect him" lines, also makes a solid case for Eddie retaining. Undoubtedly, Eddie will have to lose the belts at some point, but I'm not sure that this is the best time. Plus, it would complete the story (lol) of Eddie earning the respect of Blackpool Combat Club (or re-earning, in the case of Mox).
Will Ospreay vs Konosuke Takeshita. Bruv I don't even care who wins. This match is gonna fuck.
Christian Cage vs Daniel Garcia. I *want* DG to win. Dude deserves having the belt. He's a former ROH Pure champ. He's great in the ring. People enjoy him. I legitimately don't think losing would hurt Christian from a fan perspective. The man can still be a reprehensible POS without the belt.
Wardlow vs Powerhouse Hobbs vs Lance Archer. A "Meat Madness" match. lmao. This is obviously just a big hoss shitpost match, but I think it'll be fun.
FTR vs Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli. Wheeler has his pending trial in May from where he allegedly brandished a gun at someone on the highway (wtf man, settle the hell down) so I don't know exactly how that's going to factor in with any potential booking. Both FTR and Mox are booked in ways that keep them pretty protected (Mox has only been pinned clean what, like, maybe 4 times the entire time he's been in AEW? And one of those was when he was accidentally concussed.) so it'll be really interesting to see where this goes. I can see a case for either side winning, but I would speculate that if BCC loses, it would probably be Claudio eating the loss (or it'll be some kind of DQ).

AEW Dynamite 1/3/24
Samoa Joe giving us his mission statement.
I'm totally normal about seeing that betrayal and reveal again, yep.
Oh dang I think I'm into an Undisputed Kingdom/Bang Bang Gang feud
Eddie Kingston smiling is a beautiful thing
Aww Orange + Hookhausen friends
Orange has been visibly more arrogant and aggressive, I'm very interested in how this is going
PRIVATE PARTY SHIT YES!!!
Hot Goths should beat FTR
Mariah debut plus Queen Aminata on my TV? Hell yes.
DEONNA PURRAZZO
I think AEW should introduce actual intergender wrestling by having Kris and Willow destroy the Patriarchy
Harley is totally banging Saraya in kayfabe isn't she
I know Takeshita is evil now, but he's still my large strong son
EDDIE.
BRYAN KEITH
This may be the first time I've ever been sad about a Trent win
ANGRY HANGMAN
Fuck yeah Swerve vs Danny!
Pro wrestling needs more dance-offs
Hangman and Swerve are my newest favorite wrestling soulmates

AEW Dynasty 2024 Predictions
Here are my last-minute AEW Dynasty predictions:
Overall:
It will be an excellent ppv – AEW rarely disappoints on this.
Pre-Show:
AEW/ROH Trios Championship Title Unification: The Acclaimed Vs the Bang Bang Gang (Bullet Club Gold)
I think the Acclaimed will win but I’m rooting for the Bang Bang Gang.
Trent Beretta Vs Matt Sydal: Trent wins. It wouldn’t make sense to have Trent lose while building the feud with Orange Cassidy. The real question is if Chuck Taylor will be ringside for either Trent or OC’s matches.
Orange Cassidy / Shibata Vs. Shane Taylor / Lee Moriarty: OC and Shibata win unless interference from his former Best Friends cost them the match.
The Show:
Bryan Danielson vs Will Ospreay: Tough call. Bryan has repeatedly put over younger talent so an Ospreay victory seems certain. However, they are clearly building a Blackpool Combat Club vs Don Callis Family feud, which will result in Ospreay leaving the Callis family. Hard call but I’m leaning towards an Ospreay victory due to shenanigans by Don Callis. I expect (hope)for appearances by the BCC and the Callis family. I doubt Khan has Moxley in the building and he doesn’t make an appearance for the entire pay-per-view. And I gave AEW the $50 so can I please have Claudio on the show?
Julia Hart vs Willow Nightingale for the TBS Championship: Willow wins. Julia is injured and Willow’s victory will further her story win Mercedes Mone. The only question is if Mercedes makes an appearance.
Samoa Joe vs Swerve Strickland for the AEW World Championship: I love Samoa Joe but whose house? Swerve’s house!
Toni Storm vs Thunder Rosa for the AEW World Women’s Championship: Toni all the way.
Adam Copeland/Eddie Kingston/Mark Briscoe vs the House of Black: Hard call. I’m going with the House of Black because they need some wins.
Okada vs PAC for the Continental Championship: I love both men but Okada wins. It’s simply too early for him to suffer a defeat.
The Young Bucks vs FTR for the AEW World Tag Team Championships: The Bucks take the win with the assist of a returning Jack Perry.
Roderick Strong vs Kyle O’Reily for the International Championship: It seems too soon for Roderick to lose the title but they’ve been building Kyle so a defeat would be odd so…Kyle?
Hook vs Chris Jericho for the FTW Championship: Unfortunately, it seems like this feud will continue after Dynasty so a Jericho win seems likely.
Final Thoughts:
AEW’s roster is insanely stacked. Even if you subtract the wrestlers on the injured list (Kenny Omega, Adam Cole, MJF, Britt Baker, Jaime Hayter, etc) you still have notable wrestlers (Claudio Castagnolli, Jon Moxley, Adam Page, Kris Statlander, Mariah May, etc) without an advertised match/role on the card. Crazy!
Enjoy the pay per view!
