Today's Christmas read comes from the brilliant @jonathan.stroud ๐โ ๏ธ JS: Ghosts enjoy Christmas like everybody else, and a good spooky tale is a fine corrective to all the enforced jollity and turkey-fuelled good cheer. Charles Dickensโ A Christmas Carol fuses darkness and redemption to create obviously the greatest festive book of all. It should be required yearly reading (just as The Muppetsโ Christmas Carol is THE essential family watch). But Iโm going to go out on a limb here, and recommend M R Jamesโs Ghost Stories as my Xmas pick. These arenโt stories about Christmas, but many of them were written for Christmas. James was Provost at Eton, and he wrote his stories specifically for reading out to friends and pupils on Christmas Eve. Youโve got vengeful spirits, demonic guardians, nasty things hiding in ash trees, white flappy shapes hunting you along deserted beaches, and many other horrors, all hinted at with impeccable Edwardian restraint. In short, theyโre the best creepy stories in English and perfect for the season, so take a peek into the midwinter dark and see whatโs wandering there. It's almost the end of Diwali. And I started reading this book titled Everything on It.I am taking break from other genres. I never had any inclination towards poetry. Do not ask me why, I cannot point out a particular reason. But this book gave me a new found love towards poetry. I love the way Shel Silverstein has written them. The poems will leave you with laughter at various funny instances, smirk at the witty lines and make you scribble them to remember, tongue tying moments. I truly loved this book. My thoughts
Festive Spirits features three short and well-formed tales with a yuletide theme, written by bestselling author Kate Atkinson.
This was my first time reading her work, and I enjoyed the way Atkinson writes. She has pieced together a lovely few short stories, which are mostly very festive and fun. Admittedly, as a short story collection, you don't get a lot of depth but there are some great observations here. These stories won't take long to read at all, but there is enough there to keep you satisfied. The writing is pretty simplistic, but the style seems to really fit for this collection. I would describe the stories as short non-traditional holiday tales that give hope. They are fiction works about finding hope, joy, and love in the little everyday things, and I really liked the book in that way.
I read the book on Boxing Day morning, which seemed the appropriate time to delve into a light-hearted and easily digestible read like this. I swept through it in one sitting, and it was sweet and nice. Itโs hard to say much more as the stories themselves were just so short. This volume makes for a cosy read in a quiet moment during the whirlwind festive season.

I was looking for heart warming, fluffy, festive and rom-com kind of book and; I cannot explain how much i enjoyed this book. Although this book reminded me Vanessa Hudgensโ movie โThe Princess Switchโ, really loved the book and the Christmas vibes it gave me. If watching Hallmark Movies in Christmas is a thing for you as like me then I recommend you to read it. 4/5 stars

Is todayโs post showcasing the novelisation of a movie adaptation of A Christmas Carol? Yes and why not. Itโs the greatest Christmas film ever (try and prove me wrong) and itโs the most faithful adaptation of the book.
I also love that Michael Caine took it really seriously. He told the director that he was going to treat it like he was working with the RSC and thatโs why it works. Itโs a perfect film.

What a sweet sweet read!
This was my first festive read of the season and I loved it! I've been having trouble watching Hallmark Christmas movies this season and was worried as I started this book but it ended up being perfect. The best break from a busy weekend of final presentations and studying for my exam.
So many twists and turns it was hard to predict what would happen but I loved every minute of it. I'm also amazed at how wonderfully Thompson managed to pace all the events.
A lovely, light, and cheery read! In fact I think this is the fastest I've read a Buckskin Brotherhood story.
Low-key waiting for netflix or someone equally powerful to pick up the Bucksin Brotherhood series.
