Dating Shenanigans [Libra Jr. Headcanons]

Klaus

He gives a little side eye to the idea of any of his children dating before 16/17, but only because he was raised to see that as the proper age of courting.

After hearing that dates at 14 usually are overseen by a parent, Klaus tries to insist on going with every time

This gets shot down by his spouse quickly as they and the other person's parents/guardian come up with a more... even solution (Klaus gets to chaperone once, maybe twice, a month)

Though when it comes time for his children to date by themselves, he's strangely calm about it

Like he knows that he's done everything to teach them about how to treat their partner, how to maintain healthy relationships, the child's self-worth so they aren't putting up with terrible partners so for once Klaus is just... chill

Though should his kids ask advice, Klaus says things K.K. told him when he started courting his spouse (something spouse snarkily remarks about when they’re alone)

Steven

He doesn't like the idea of Isabella dating at all until basically forced by his spouse to relax

When it comes to his sons, Steven is a bit calmer. Knowing that he has taught all three of them how to treat their partners with respect and what kind of behavior was unacceptable.

When it comes to chaperoning early dates, Steven sometimes gets hit on by other people and is quick to point out that he is married and keeping an eye on his children (This is a 50/50 shot of turning them away)

Should his children need advice, he does his best to give accurate advice (recycling things K.K. would nag him with) though with his own flare as someone who has acted like a 007 for Libra

And yes, his goon squad do keep tabs on all his children whenever they are on dates (just to make sure that they are safe, nothing more)

Leo

He tries to not be overbearing about keeping his kids safe, but Leo is always asking them to check in with him no matter what or who they are with

He jumps on the chance to chaperone dates early on (Though occasionally gets mistaken for another kid until his wedding band is spotted)

Leo tries to give good advice when asked, but he fumbles hard and has to look things up and/or calling K.K. for backup

He also tries to teach his kids how to be good partners and what boundaries they should have but has to rely on his spouse a bit

Zapp

He refuses to let his baby girl (Lisa) date until she's at least 17 because he knows the kinds of dumba$$es that are out there (he was one of them)

However, he can be persuaded when it comes to chaperoning them (her) early on. It doesn't work very well because Zapp can be recognized...

When it comes to his boys, Zapp is a little more lenient. Just with more structure and teaching them to not make his mistakes.

Though he does think 14 and 15 is too young to date at all so he more likely to kick up a fuss when asked to chaperone

Zed

Poor fish is confused about why the kids are trying to date so early in their lives. He knows that he was stunted and didn't have a normal life but still thinks dating before graduation is too young

Though he is rather relaxed about it after having it explained and that he (and the other parents) are expected to chaperone for a little while

He is very confident that his kids can handle themselves on dates after 16, he did as much as he could to teach them courtesy and boundaries (and a little self-defense).

Even when it comes to his baby girls (Coraline and Sophie) he's surprisingly chill since they know what they can and can't do in terms of dating

Raju

He is very against Gloria dating at all and only relents because his spouse forces him to

If little Gloria gets her heart broken, then Raju will burn everything to the ground

Though Gloria and Adam (Zapp's oldest) have a cute little childhood friends to middle/high school sweethearts to exes w/o beef

Gloria and Adam just sorta... fall apart with no hard feelings and as much as Raju wants to go after Zapp for this... he can't

Neither Gloria nor his spouse will allow, so he must take his frustration out on a blood breed (or 20, he'll decide in the car)

Femt

Despite his love of chaos and intial disinterest in his own children, Femt is hyper-protective over both of them by the time they can date

He rarely lets them go on dates without some kind of creature being around as a guard dog

He doesn't even understand how dating typically works so gives them some messed-up advice about how to woo the person they like among other things

This bizarrely works in their favor since they have an out ("my Dad told me this would be a good idea...")

His spouse has to give the real advice and talks for these two mini-hoodlums in training

ok ok i wanna talk about this at length and not on twitter where i can say like three sentences but i think a lot about how femt will sit around and say how humanity is just awful and disgusting but theres SO many times he seems to be rooting for them. like here how he Let Leo Go. he just let him leave. "he said he didnt wanna play so yknow. He Left." and he yells about how Of Course Hes Not Gonna Kill Leo. leo was so important to stopping the second collapse and femt just let him leave and then when he explained this to despair who is like Dude Why Didnt You Kill Him Or Leave Him There femt seems to be pretty genuinely concerned about despairs wellbeing and. general depression.

then there's in the ova where it's most obvious. hes running around trying to stop this restaurant from being destroyed which Just So Happens to have libra in it. tells leo to forget he was ever there. "i dont need a reason to help them out" femt i am shaking u

and THEN !!! theres curious. curious is fascinating to me for several reasons but i think its really interesting that femt seemingly shows up for no other reason than to Get Curious. wants to take him home for whatever reasons (i have thoughts on this but its too much so maybe another post). but then they immediately start fighting and it really seems like femt is just trying to keep curious preoccupied, buying time for libra to do something. he doesn't really have any reason to get into a petty fight with curious. then when curious is about to attack steven and klaus, femt IMMEDIATELY gets eve and odd to attack him which leaves them in pieces, ultimately ending up letting steven klaus and chain get the upper hand. and then femt just Leaves.

AND THE CALAMITY AUCTION !!! my favorite femt scene. pretends to be the president to break klaus out of jail as hes the only one who can really do anything about whats going on. and later when hes revealed to be the "president" klaus is surprised that someone like femt would even bother to get involved, cuz why WOULD he get involved?? hes constantly saying how worthless humanity is but here he is, actively trying to help. this pisses femt off who attacks briefly but just. Leaves. Again. destroys all the cameras in the room too. god forbid he be seen trying to help out a bad situation

which brings me to the light novel!! as i've said i've been translating it and theres a lot of interesting things. femt talks about how he feels extremely isolated from humanity and when people try to get information from him he just cant understand why they would ever want to be him or have what he has, cuz he clearly has..... Lots Of Issues! it's almost like he's so worried about what will happen to humanity if he isn't there to save them or on the other side of that he has to keep. testing humanity or something. he puts them through his games but even libra admits that theres a line he wont cross. they prefer to deal with him over Other Threats because while hes mass murdering lunatic he still wont. you know. Kill Everyone. unlike curious. i think femt and curious are being set up as foils and i have lots of thoughts on this but theres just too much to say about those two...

tldr i think femt cares a lot more about those around him than he would ever let anyone know. yeah he'll murder hundreds of people but the second hes faced with someone in person that he cant just pretend is part of this vague crude idea of humanity he has in his head its like something clicks in his brain that this is a Real Person and now he suddenly cares. he seems to have this recurring idea of humanity killing themselves or being unable to save themselves which leads him to Extreme Violence and when he helps its like he doesnt want to admit that he cares in some way. hes constantly distancing himself from everyone and i think he should go to therapy <3
