Crosby definitely accidentally walks in on people all the time and gets so flustered he just immediately leaves and refuses to talk about it. Because he’s mortified right, like this little modest anxious mess of a man feels awful for disrupting their peace and… quiet. Unfortunately it doesn’t happen just once, it just keeps happening to him and every time he dies a little on the inside

When you share a bunk house with 15 other men, you’re bound to walk in on things you aren’t meant to see. So when he walks in and sees two of them going at it, he immediately leaves. At least it was one of their beds and not his own.

Usually when his bunk house is occupied he’ll go to the officer’s club or busy himself somehow, but one day he was just too exhausted and sat down. He passed out like that leaning against the door and was startled awake when the two were leaving.

One time after a mission he had forgotten to grab his parachute from the plane, so he had to walk a quarter of a mile to get it so he could return it to the riggers. He quietly opens the hatch but before he could heave himself in, he hears it. Yeah, nope. He’ll get that parachute tomorrow morning.

The showers because of course

He had to deliver some paperwork to one of the offices in the mission planning room and noticed some shadows in one of the upper offices. He decided putting the papers on the table was close enough.

There was a time where he was sitting on his bed reading a book when suddenly two men came stumbling in, touching and kissing all over each other. He figured they’d notice he was there but turns out they were very much oblivious to his presence. He luckily got out of there before it got too serious.

Every time it happens they’ll try to cautiously confront him or straight up corner him, but before they can speak he immediately starts to apologize a million times and is close to crying because he’s borderline having a panic attack. They’re immediately concerned like “heyyy buddy, it’s okay” but like at the same time “you’re not gonna tell anyone, right?” And he’s immediately all red like he would never yell anyone. Why would he want to tell anyone he just walked in on them going at it, that’s embarrassing af. Besides, it’s none of his business.

can you imagine if because of Anakin’s extreme connection to the force his eyes could change just by having dark thoughts even without tapping into the dark and following through on them.(maybe it’s the force’s way to warn people around him so that him becoming a murderer doesn’t catch anyone off guard/ people can help him get back on track or whatever. I think the force™️ would be funny like that when it comes to the chosen one and also imagine how helpful that would have been like obviously there were so many signs of him falling to the dark side but really a physical one would have done the job so well. rip) So one day when Anakin sees someone flirting with his master on a mission, he gets so angry and possessive, as per usual but when this person decides to touch his master he straight up considers murder. But he doesn’t end up doing anything bad because he doesn’t want to disappoint Obi-Wan. However he notices his eyes changed and wears a hood the whole way back. He starts panicking and doesn’t understand how it happened but hopes in time it will pass. Obi-Wan notices his strange behavior and is worried Anakin got hurt or something so he takes Anakin to his quarters and takes the hood off his head.

Cut to Anakin on his knees looking down embarrassed and Obi-Wan grabbing his chin (I’m obsessed with that mental image for some reason,) and tilting his head back up to look into his golden eyes

“Anakin, what have you done?” he asks in horror.

Okay y’all. Buckle in, I might have information about Violet’s (Vampire Spawn Violet) identity. So shoutout to @sadanduncertain for linking me to this tweet, but one of the writers confirms that the “banned patron” book in act 2 is in fact referencing Astarion, which infers that Astarion (probably over a century ago, before the Shadow Curse took over) was definitely near Moonrise, which means it isn’t at all unlikely that any of the spawn could’ve been there, or even have been from there.

Near the House of Healing, there’s a graveyard. There are a LOT of graves here you can interact with, but this one in particular caught my attention.

Violet Goldhammer.

Now spawn Violet, there’s very little known about her, except she’s a little bratty. Who’s to say she wasn’t a little bit of a bratty, young singer, who got whisked away to Baldur’s Gate? I just think it’s interesting because we don’t usually see name repeats in the game, and we know that spawn being around this area isn’t unheard of.

i’m sure this has been at least mentioned before but one of the things that’s so fucking funny to me abt kim is that, for all the shit he gives you (harry) when you try to get him to dance or wear the piss jacket, he actually wants to do those things to some extent

over the course of the game you can’t get him (or other characters for that matter) to do things he doesn’t want to do. disco elysium isn’t a power fantasy game like that. don’t get me wrong some things he needs to be convinced/challenged for, but he can and does outright Refuse things at times like when you suggest getting on the kineema and cutting the body down from there, not going into the tent with the ravers, or not climbing up the shitty feld building ladder, etc. and there are also definitely moments when he reluctantly puts up with harry/the player’s antics bc harry’s persistent and it’ll just put a quicker end to things to be like, “yeah sure fine i’ll eat the sandwich“ or, “i'll spare you another *20 hour mind-project*— yes, i am”

when you really badger him into dancing in the church and pass the authority check, he of course puts up some resistance but then goes, “now check *this* shit out!“ and starts busting it down! if he was reluctant to dance, he’d totally just do some stupid lil shimmy to appease harry with the same enthusiasm of, “oh god more cryptids” but no! he starts “heel kick[ing] the church floor with such intensity, it’s reasonable to fear he’ll kick a hole right through it“ he had those moves Locked And Loaded, but it’s not like he was gonna bust them out oh god no, then harry pulls his rank on him and he thinks “well everyone else here can see that the guy making a bigger fool of himself is ordering me to do it so i guess it’s okay for me to“

(thinking abt that, there’s prolly something to also say there abt music being a sort of outlet for kim. in my brain the anodic dance music and the shit speedfreaks fm plays have more in common than not, but kim also strikes me as somewhat of a music snob about that sort of stuff so. i dunno)

and then the pissfaggot jacket! when you’re trying to convince him to put it on he essentially says “you’re gonna keep bothering me about this no matter what“ but at the end of the interaction he still puts the jacket on and keeps it on! “the first chance i get, this thing’s coming off“ yeah right, the first chance he had was immediately after putting it on, harry clearly doesn’t give a shit if kim leaves him hanging fashion-wise, he’s the one who puts on the fuck the world jacket first! and once harry takes off the fuck jacket, the piss jacket is gone too, so it basically boils down to “as long as i’m following around this guy who’s making a bigger fool of himself, i can do this thing that i wanted to do got coerced into going along with“

kim’s also like “it really *does* look cool to have both of these jackets on right now“ once he puts it on like who are you kidding bro. your lame ass wanted this. sure he wanted to be a jackass and take the jackets but he also confiscated those hubcaps because they were cool and he was gonna eventually install them, was he not gonna steal the jacket to wear it?

he has his pristine little Image to uphold so he’ll only do things he wants to do if it looks like he’s being forced to and/or he won’t be the biggest fool in the room because god forbid he expresses himself. there’s plenty of deeper analysis here in conjunction with how he relishes in having control over his desires and how harry’s someone who can get him to break his rigid self-control and let loose a bit, but for me it just boils down to:

Reasons why the comic relief character keeps joking even when going through something horrible, shocking the people around them and reframing their behavior:

Joy is the only emotion they allow themselves, has been for a long time. All the others hurt too much. They're hidden so deep that even now, when they'd be needed, they can't be reached.

They're scared. They're always so scared. They want to scream, they want to cry, they want to run. But they've started making jokes long ago, and the people around them seemed less scared then. And that made them feel saver in return. So they continue joking, even now, especially now, because they're terrified.

This? Oh honestly, this is nothing. They've had worse. Seriously (ha!), why everyone so serious?

They know the people around them need this. They've always been so good at reading people, at knowing when levity is needed. Everyone assumed their humor was accidental, with how often they made a fool of themselves, but it was all calculated, and wasn't it worth it, if their friends never lost that spark in their eyes?

They know their role. They have a place in their group because they make the others laugh. This is why they care for them, this is why they're worth something. They will be left behind when they stop making them laugh. Please, please, they have to laugh.

Hey, I started reading Robin son of Batman because of your recommendation (I literally have a print of your post on my phone to not forget lol). Honestly? One of the best things I ever read!!!

Thank you for opening my eyes! Damian has been one of my favorite characters for over a year, but I didn't read/watch much of him because of school, life (and probably an executive dysfunction in the mix).

Maya is incredible. I loved her.

I haven't finished all the issues yet, but do you have any other recommendations?
