Gin knew better than to go out at night, that’s why she had Peaches with her, the nimble cougar was able to move like a shadow in the night and she could sense danger before it became a problem. So why was she out here going against every rule she had for herself? Well, she and a team of recruits were scouting the surrounding acres, just to see how close Jacob was encroaching on her ranch, to take care of threats before they became problems. She, Peaches, and her recruits knew the arts of quiet takedowns. Her group could wipe out a small campsite in the night and the loudest noise could just be a crackling fire. Since there had been a decline in campsites in the area as of late, the team spread out a little more to gather more recon.
There was talk of this deputy, floating around the mountains. Saying she alone was going to save this place. Well, she couldn’t even arrest the man behind it all and they were right there.
Oh, what Gin would give to have an audience with Joseph Seed again…
He approached her, on his own once before, surprisingly without his goon siblings, trying to acquire her ranch. To which she declined. She kept it civil, then, but what Joseph didn’t know was there was a twelve gage behind her back, hidden by the front door. However, the moment she closed the door on him, she had gotten to work fortifying the place to what it is now. A home base for refugees, the only cattle ranch equipped with enough protection to secure food sources that weren’t tainted by Bliss. There were a few farms still standing for crops and smaller livestock, the fences were highly electrified by its own independent power source that the Cult had no control over. Impenetrable stashes, levels of security clearance. All thanks to her former boss. Somehow, though with all of the technology, something is still blocking signals going outside of Hope County. They were all still cut off from the outside world to get help.
She had to protect what she had to get more.
No one was going to threaten that.
She was stopped short when she saw Peaches lay her ears back and lay low to the brush, her tail flicking slowly and Gin raised her rifle. She looked down at her thermal scope, scanning the areas in front of them. She could see the white-hot mass shaped like Peaches, a couple of birds, a deer… there was something else out there. When she panned east she froze and flicked the safety off. There was a heat signature shaped like a person, running right for her. She immediately thought of an Angel. The erratic panting, stumbling footsteps, and sloppy gait — it all indicated a cracked-out Cult monkey. Something made her look without her scope and she saw that it wasn’t an Angel, but a woman running right for her. Peaches snarled just as Gin collided with her and the two of them fell to the leaves below.
“Hey! Jesus!” Gin groaned as the wind was knocked out of her.

Oh no! Not 'John Seed, the man of many masks' being a liar. Jinx was a lot of things, but she wasn't stupid. She was more than aware that every one of the Seeds hid behind their faith and always had some kind of ulterior motive. One look at their methods and it easily gave away just how sadistic they really were. However, what people failed to understand was Jinx didn't really care about that. Everyone wanted her to choose a side, but she had already chosen a side, with the children of Hope County. Both sides had people that committed atrocities against kids, so now, she did her best to put an end it. If that meant playing nuisance and having everyone and anyone think of her as an enemy, so be it.
"Obviously." The man before her might as well have stated the grass was green, her expression one of boredom.
"Did you have a point, or do you just like stating the obvious?"

[HC V: FC5 ] Despite her sunny personality and seemingly carefree nature, she has an intense passion for hunting. During her childhood, she would often spend vacation time with her father and uncle who were avid game hunters.
Seeing them bring down prey with such ease and skilful precision sparked an interest within young Mercy that carried over into adulthood. Her father was an expert hunter who taught her everything he knew from how to track game using tactics like being mindful of wind direction, interpreting animal tracks, reading signs of disturbance or browsing patterns, learning how to build effective blind spots...the list goes on.
In fact, it was during these hunting trips that Mercy developed much of her quick thinking and resourcefulness when facing off against enemies. All those lessons at such a young age turned out to be nothing short of lifesaving once she found herself out in Hope County after the cult arrived. She was able to use every bit of knowledge acquired through endless summers spent.

“it’s nice out here...” pretty. prettier than where eliot had been. he wasn’t sure why he was out this far, he usually didn’t stray too far from where most of the action was happening but... maybe he just needed a little fresh air. air that didn’t smell like blood. air that didn’t sound like gunfire or shouting or desperation. air that wasn’t so damn heavy. eliot had been in hope county for a while now. and it was starting to weigh on his shoulders. he hadn’t yet met paul seed. they don’t talk about him much. or rather, they seem to let him keep to himself a little more. maybe that’s why it was so pretty here. less to oppose when you’re just looking for somewhere to hang up your burden for a little while. “can-- - am i allowed t’ sit?” and just... breathe. he knows better than to not be on guard around the seeds. but he’s hopeful that maybe for a little while he might not have to try and fight.

While the Peggies mostly worked out of their little Island Compound, everyone knew they had fingers dug in all across Hope County.  The Seeds had gobbled up land faster than anyone could blink an eye, and had begun building.  What, no one really knew.  End of the world bunkers, probably, if the ramblings of their prophet were to be believed.  Or maybe they were just tired of spilling blood on their own carpets, and were looking for a new place to continue their fun murder cult.  Titus didn’t care.
He had, once.  As a Hope County officer it was his job to care.  He’d tried to talk sense into Whitehorse back when the Seeds first started acting up.  When the cult was small, manageable.  The Sheriff had ignored him.  “Folk’re allowed to worship unicorns if it pleases them.  That’s how this country works.”  Only the Peggies weren’t just some loony religious folk, Titus had known that from the start.  When the violence had begun, a few tried to stand up.  None of them were still around.  A show or two  of violence and Joseph Seed had turned the county law enforcement into cowering sons of bitches.
     Then Dominick had gotten involved.
Titus didn’t know when it happened.  He wasn’t his brother’s keeper, and Dominick was a man now, capable of making his own decisions.  One day Dominick had taken his brother’s hand, smiled, and proclaimed they were going to church.  Titus had never been very religious, but he’d also never been good at refusing his brother anything, so he’d gone along.  Even when he realized where they were going.
The sermons of Joseph Seed were the insane ramblings of a madman, yet Dominick was so impassioned by them.  Titus didn’t understand it, later that evening he’d tried to talk sense into his brother, but Dominick saw Joseph as some holy savior here to protect mankind.  He insisted upon it.
Titus had redoubled his efforts to get the Sheriff to act, but still Whitehorse refused.  A storm was coming, everyone could feel it.  Lines were being drawn in the sand, either you stood with the Peggies or you stood against them-- and Dominick stood on the other side of that line.  Titus considered himself a good man.  Perhaps not great, but he did his best to live a decent life, to treat folk well, and to do what was right.  But nothing mattered more than his brother, so he’d left his uniform in the station and walked out the front door with Roxy at his heels.
The German Shepherd knew something was wrong, and whined at him the deeper they walked into the Whitetail Mountains.  He stroked his fingers along the crown of her head to calm her.   They’d followed Dominick’s trail this far, he had to be nearby.  He felt Roxy’s hackles rise before she growled, and stopped just as a group of people stepped into view, holding automatic weapons.
“Looks like we gots ourselves a deputy,” one of them sang, pointing his barrel first at Titus, and then at Roxy.
Titus lifted his hands slowly in a show of submission.  “We’re here to see Jacob.  Jacob Seed.  He runs this operation, right?”

|| A Wolf in the Flock ||      -- Far Cry 5 Verse
Having grown up in Hope County Jean had watched as Eden’s Gate gathered steam. At first, most people scoffed at the mention of the ‘cult’ though as they gained power and influence people took the same tone as one would discuss a dangerous animal on the loose. Jean’s grandfather had been a prepper, someone that constantly was ready for the end of it all. Her brother Stephan had followed in his footsteps in absence of their parents who had died in a car crash when the siblings were young.  When the Reckoning came down the Masters’ had joined the feeble resistance that had cropped up in the beginning. Her grandfather had been killed early on a stray shot from a fire fight with some of the PEGies had taken her from him, and her brother Stephan had fallen to the lure of the bliss and had been turned into what they called Angles. Left alone Jean did her best to keep her grandfather’s stash in the mountains safe, that is until Jacob’s people came for the supplies and took her with them. Now she fights against the resistance that she’d fought so hard with in the beginning of it all.

"Yeah- look," attention finally torn from the book in front of her, Jinx sighed, slight irritation overtaking her features. To put it bluntly, she wasn't even the tiniest bit interested in hearing anyone try to defend why their side was in the right.
"I'm going to have to stop you right there. I'm not on anyone's side. If I'm being honest, both are equally shitty so, you're wasting your breath...Have the day you deserve."

"Wanting kids and you willingly came to Hope County to help someone. Knowing how bad it was. Says something about you if you're willing to take this kind of risk for another person. Good kind of something." /deputyscreed
Tumblr media
“don’t. don’t do that.” eliot shook his head. just because he wanted things didn’t mean he was going to get them. he leaned over the banister, looking out over the countryside as it stretched out in front of them, deceptively calm for the moment. eliot pressed his lips together and took a deep breath. “don’t start sayin’ things like-- - don’t say it like that makes me a good person.” he’s better. but eliot is firm in the fact that he will never be a good man. “i... was needed.” people asked for help and eliot wasn’t going to turn them away. he was done with that. and here?                  christ, sometimes it felt like this place was made just for him. hope county, falling right into an apocalyptic war zone. a place where men like eliot spencer could thrive. that frightened him, just a little. it’d be so easy to lose himself here. it seemed almost hopeless. his favorite kind of causes. eliot wet his lips and shook his head. he should have died years ago. maybe that’s why it didn’t even register that it was so fucking dangerous, coming here.               “mmhn. other people deserve th’ chance.” to live. to have kids. to have the things he can’t have, that he doesn’t have, that he won’t ever have. “this place’s got a shot.” with her here. with him now too, he supposed. “it deserves t’ take it. that’s why ‘m here.” not to save his soul. he’s well past that. @deputyscreed

"... And we will know sin. We know it like a mother ewe knows her lambs cry in the dark and populated. Our sin shall come back upon us with the Lamb as they descend from their thrown with the scroll, opening and loosing the seals thereof. The Earth will shake and we will call for our sin. It will abandon you. It will close the gates that you yearn for. The only refuge for you to take? The mountains full of stone walls hold salvation, it will take you to the Garden, it will bring you home.
Walk the path..."
