i think the gifmaking community is in shambles, im serious. spto just came out, and its show went above and beyond animating scenes, and the tag does not reflect that at all. i filter gifs and i see more for the old movie or tumblr's gif feature sharing other users' gifs than actual gifsets. what happened 🤨

anyway bg3 is gonna be my fantasy obsession for the next 10 years so do what you will with this knowledge BUT SERIOUSLY

fun fact one of the first rpgs I ever played was by Larian - divine divinity. I was like 10 I think, my dad bought it for me and I fucked around and found out so much in that game, I had to open every crate and lock and explore every inch of the map and I fell in love with rpgs thanks to it

so fast forward - bg3 is announced and *oh fuck yes*. I bought EA, played it a little, decided 'ok, this is fucking fantastic' and didn't touch it again until release cause I just wanted to snort it all in at once knowing as little as possible and oh my god I felt like that overhyped child playing old school rpgs all over again. I love this game and I needed it so badly because I've dragon-aged for way too long and these years of waiting for a sequel have been...bleak. I love fantasy and both as fan and fanartist I needed something new to be passionate about as much as I was about DA.

So yeah I'm living my best baldurlife I guess?

Honestly so relieved with the charity they picked. As an adult I spent a lot of time trying to not seek out validation for my political/social opinions from celebrities but I am so glad they're doing this. I don't mind him being apolitical online but it's nice to see he's doing this because it's important

yeah i think phil has always been good about this even tho sure hes not as vocal about his politics as dan can be. i was talking to some friends and i misremembered phil posting a black square on ig during the BLM protests for george floyd (which if u dont remember was just the absolute laziest form of performative activism) but they quickly corrected me that he actually posted a graphic that said Black lives matter and had a handful of resources in support of the movement and didnt tag it was blacksquare or anything like that and imo very clearly wasnt doing that for clout

i'll be real i was growing a little frustrated hearing about people who were really begging them to speak up about this, and i can understand feeling disappointed when your favs dont speak up about something important but ultimately sometimes thats a thing you just have to let go. and like this point is moot now because they are speaking up and supporting the pcrf and everything! i remember when people hounded dan for tweeting about a ceasefire? as in pro-palestine ppl getting angry with the way he worded his tweet? and like. idk i get it sometimes dan doesnt perfectly phrase things but like WE KNOW he has his heart in the right place so like what's the point in getting upset about the particulars of his choice of words.in general internet culture is so much about semantics and wording things rather than about actions and intent and impact on the world.

and its also very much a parasocial thing to where like, i think for ME bc ive figured out a healthier way to interact with my favs. i know how to separate them from me as a person so like, dnp's actions and statements don't say anything about me as a person or any of their fans. and i mean that's been proven with like, on twitter theres like all these fanartists doing incentives for ppl to donate for fanart and thats like so cool and like didnt need to be sanctioned by dnp or anything it was just something a bunch of people decided together ykwim?

Like listen, I scour the internet, looking for any marchil content, any marchil content at all… And find a dry af desert, no life here, literally jackshit nothing. Only Pixiv has some afaik but the nsfw is def… Hm. 😔 (2 fics tagged chirumaru on there btw!! Just thought I'd post some random Pixiv recs for my fellow enjoyers of ZOOL shenanigans~

カキ has some really cute illustrations. This is one of my favourite collections, and I particularly love the how it started vs how it's going pic of Touma being all, "uhh, guys???"

猿川円 also does some lovely illustration collections. One of my favourites is a collection of stuff from APOZ and Beyond the Period, partly for this lovely scene of Minami being reminded of Haruki before rejoining the rest of the group.

ymd does a lot of gen stuff as well (along with some ToraMina if you like that sort of thing), and their art is super pretty. This comic collection is very amusing, especially this one. Very rough and short translation...

Haruka: This is hilarious. They’re saying ZOOL get along so well, the four of them should just live together and marry each other. Do we really seem that buddy-buddy?

Touma: M-marry?! Why would they say that!?

And then Haruka, Minami and Torao are like lol sounds like fun, let's do that, live in a crazy expensive Midou residence and buy a really big rice cooker, while Touma eventually just kind of goes along with it and is all

I also greatly enjoyed this collection and this comic of the rest of ZOOL getting jealous of Touma's interactions with Riku the most.

Do u know of any tenken or kenjin japanese tag (something similar to takaken/pinchan)? Trying to find more art of them on twitter but they're so rare 😭

Well, due to Twitter not using tags that much and those two ships being not that popular (although JinKen has been gaining the last days), it's pretty tricky.

For TenKen, I'd search for 天羂 or 羂天 without any hastag, just the kanji. There's also the fanartist もやし who makes great TenKen fanart and retweets a lot of art that is otherwise just floating around on twt.

JinKen is even more difficult. If you search for 仁羂 you'll find some fanart, but that ship name is not that common yet and gets very rarely used (most seem to think of them as just Itadori's parents, not a set ship). I find art of them more by coincidence because of what others retweet or at the moment the #jjk257 tag. Unfortunately, I also don't know any fanartist who is specifically dedicated to them.

Okay well first of all hows that the game itselfs fault?? Like. the devs have zero control over that thats all google. And second of all thats barely even true!! I went ahead and googled some dinosaurs and here are the top results for those, and by top results I mean what appears when you first look at it WITHOUT scrolling.

Tell me. Wheres the ark dino. Where is it. Where are they where are these ark dinos you bitch and moan about CONSTANTLY. I'm not saying this is the case for every single dino in ark theres like 100's of them so I'm not going to google them all and provide a post with like a mile of screenshots.

and if your talking about the wiki or something being the first to pop up. Where. I actually had to go to page two to find the ark wiki for some of them.

And? They're little kids. They are no more influenced by ark then they are jurrassic park/world or dinosaur toys. I can't really talk on the nintendo switch dino discoveries game as I haven't actually played it, dino discoveries is the only informational part of ark, and I am not going to pretend I know anything about that.

But are you seriously telling me you're getting upset at children not having accurate dinosaurs? at children being influenced by a popular piece of dinosaur media?? Dude. Chill.

Literally who is doing that. Anyone who does that probably puts their left shoe on their right foot. I extremely active within the ark community, as in extremely, and I have been since the game came out. I have talked to hundreds, possibly even thousands, of different people about dinosaurs on ark now and NOBODY. not a SINGLE person has ever claimed they thought ark was scientific.

Honestly most of us are well aware the arks deeply inaccurate. Its actually mentioned in game several times, most people don't stop to read the notes but one glance at them and the person whos writing them (a paleontologist btw) mentions that all the dinosaurs are wrong and will talk about the sizes being off or other things like that.

Yeah they can actually. Again, most ark players are at least aware of the games many issues and inaccuracies, its something that is regularly discussed amongst the fanartists and lore buffs actually. The most common people who are misinformed by ark are literal children. Get off your fucking high horse.

Honestly most of the stuff I see people bitching about isn't even arks fault. A lot of it is people ripping the models from the game and using them elsewhere, such as when a (very bad) dinosaur documentary stole arks models and used them to spread misinformation. This was not the fault of ark or wildcard, its not their fault other people take their assets and use them in improper ways. I'm fairly certain that if they can they send cease and desist letters to these people anyways.

Smiling Critters (The cartoon characters) are canonically minors. Though considering their voices we imagine they're probably at least 13+.

(I don't know why ppl act like romantic shipping is bad if the characters are minors as if most of you all didn't used to never give two shits until it was CatNap and DogDay. Examples being Luca the disney movie, The Owl House, Star vs The Forces of Evil, Stranger Things, My Hero Academia, most anime, etc. Mf B L U E Y. High schoolers or even younger. What happened to not caring as long as it wasn't weird or sexual. Like stfu you're just reaching to make people wrong for shipping something you don't personally enjoy. It's annoying.

The experiments who used to be children may or may not have been able to age since becoming CatNap, DogDay, etc. Doing research to find out. If they aged then I see no wrong sexually shipping them. The cartoon on the other hand is confirmed minors so I will always and continue to be against it.)
