Postcards from Snagglepuss

And the Dells awaits (even if it's with Crazy Claws)

Heavens to H. H. Bennett ... do I sense fall being pretty much in the air down amongst waterslides that, at least outdoors, have ended their seasons already, let alone marked its transition of seasons with the Wo-Zha-Wa festival, even?!

That, kind reader, happens to be the matter to hand in Wisconsin Dells as yours truly, alongside Huckleberry Hound, prepare to take fall by the proverbial colours alongside Crazy Claws with his retreat along the shores of the legendary Artificial Lake Delton. Even if it meant taking in Wo-Zha-Wa in line with the inevitable custom of so marking passage between summer and fall colours, appearing imminent by the time you read this.

Taking it alongside the famous hamburgers and fries of Monk's Bar and Grill ... breakfast at The Country Keg (or was that Paul Bunyan's?) ... and plenty of food stands making the inevitable festival rounds well into the autumn. Let alone wrapping things up with a halfway-decent soup supper, cream of wild rice with diced ham and turkey breast in the slow cooker all these hours, and some crusty Italian-type bread even for dunking into the soup, perhaps the best thing ever to be experienced with cream of wild rice soup!

Inevitably, it was over the supper that we got to asking Crazy Claws "himself" how things managed to hang on all along. And by admission of his, he noted that his podcasts observational saw their share of online and app listeners, even if it wasn't quite what could be expected all the while. Until one particular such, which included an interview with the Cattanooga Cats after their performance at the Riverside Terrace in Beautiful Downtown Wisconsin Dells, even if it was well past one in the morning and a light on-and-off drizzle prevailed; all involved kept their calm over some breadsticks and marinara sauce ... and can you imagine the response, many such listeners admitting such certainly made the horror-film treatment of The Banana Splits look--well, you wouldn't be interested. And before long, CC couldn't help but get into a Beau Nash mode at Riverside Terrace, or even go into walkabout mode himself alongside a few other fellow Funtastics as managed to pass through.

Including some rather memorable moments close to Mirror Lake pulling off some inline road skating moves with the Skatebirds on a rather dull Saturday afternoon with much in the way of dandelion pollen in the air, helped by some 25 mph winds. For which a brandy old fashioned chaser would not be recommended, as Crazy Claws quipped, suggesting instead some Bubbl'r infused sparkling water. Whether it had the desired effects on Knock-Knock, Satchel and Scooter is anybody's guess, even after being in the middle of a Saturday-night supper club prime rib special.

Anyhow, listening to the recordings of CC's podcasts over much of the evening certainly made the evening, a soemwhat misty such as it emerged, interesting. Stirring up memories galore, for which Crazy Claws was fond of playing up the puns.
